Giving this place a 3 star rating to average out my husband and my own thoughts on it. They have a very large menu & I would like to try more items. I ordered a specialty coffee that was quite good. I also ordered an omelette and hashbrowns. I loved that the hashbrowns were crispy, but my husband complained that they were some of the most tasteless hashbrowns he'd ever had. The omelette was just ok. He ordered the chicken & waffle stack - liked the fried chicken but wasn't a fan of the waffle. 2 non-food related things: I noticed an employee left the restaurant crying - kind of had me concerned about how they treat their employees. Also I noticed who I presumed to be the owner going around to all the tables, but he never came to ours. Disappointed Again -- Don't Waste Your Time We've given this restaurant multiple chances to improve, hoping the food and service would finally meet even basic expectations. Sadly, nothing has changed. To make this experience for them, we ordered two Carolina Benedict breakfasts, when the food arrived it looked like something more suited for livestock than paying customers -- a complete mess in both presentation and a brief taste. Immediately speaking with manager, who said he saw absolutely nothing wrong with the food. We Immediately left leaving full plates of food on table. We came in on a weekend for breakfast and we're seated right away. I liked that they had modern decor. I had one of their specialties. It was a biscuit with gravy, scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns and a fried chicken breast. It was all stacked on top of each other (not in the order I listed). Overall, I enjoyed it! read more

This place surprised me! Hefty portions. Pancakes had great texture. Soft and fluffy. Food cooked to perfection per your specifications. Good quality of food. Hot chocolate is good and didn't taste like the fake packaged hot chocolate. Chopped steak seasoned to perfection. Steak skillet good with good quality steak. Service is amazing. I watched as they cleaned the tables quickly and even the seats. Would definitely return. Hope they stay great. Pleasant service and big portions! This brunch spot was recommended to us on our visit in the lovely Chicagoland burbs. Location is near a highway. I like the plants and greens decor. Parking outside is easy peasy. Ladies room was clean. As for food, rolled with the veggie omelette, hash browns, and of course their namesake biscuit. It's not your average sized buttermilk biscuit. They are huge! The hubby was not too impressed by the food here and rates it a 3 which I agree with. I added pepper to my omelette to give it a lil somethin'. Their namesake biscuit was just OK. Place was empty. Our waitress had only two tables, and even so she was nowhere to be found. Never checked back. Coffee cup was totally empty. Finally flagged down a different server to get me some coffee. Menus were sticky and torn. Every item's price was covered with a handwritten sticker because of price increases. Food- 100/10 amazing, looks exactly like the photos. Service- 10/10 for the waitress we had, she was really nice and told us how many orders were to be made before ours. Tasty biscuit replacing of course the many 30 plus year staple in the Bolingbrook area the family square restaurant. Based in the western suburbs they open this location and it's done very well. stumbled in the beginning just a little bit but not a whole lot reviews kind of reflect that. One thing they still kept was the massive menu with loads and loads of choices you can definitely find something here no doubt about it. Not just the one choice for omelettes the whole page of omelettes I never honestly seen so many different varieties of the Benedict or the Benny's as they have listed. Lots and lots of pancake waffle and French Choice varieties. Because they're open during the week from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on the weekend 6:30 to 3:00 p.m. they are what they call pretty much standard around Chicago now unfortunately a one shift restaurant the breakfast crowd into the early lunch. So gone from the family square days of course are the big full dinners but the variety is sandwiches in the regular nums aren't too bad. I was kind of surprised with the cold weather I think it held a lot of people back from coming in cuz it wasn't jam-packed on this Christmas Eve so I walked in and I got seated immediately in a booth my waitress Kara was very cordial and nice and got coffee. Looked at all the different varieties I thought about maybe some off the blintzes or crepe menu but then I thought you know what I just got to taste for some good old eggs Benedict the original kind. I also ordered a side of the Hollandaise sauce to spoon on the taters cuz I like me some holidays when I can get it. Quality of the food for me was excellent the service was very good I was very pleased definitely above average so hence the four stars last time it was about a four-star experience too so when I do drive over here for a little variety when I'm near the truck and don't need a truck stop this is still a very good option place. When you walk in your are seated immediately. Granted it was a wednesday afternoon. My wife for the Turkish coffee. It was thick and full of bold flavor. You have a option sweet or unsweetened on the coffee. The beignets are not the ones we are use to in New Orleans but they were delicious. Reminded me of when my mom and I use to make the little biscuit donuts in the kitchen. The sugar mama was great it was a massive sandwich made up of cheeses scramble eggs and a piece of fried chicken. The biscuit omelette was great everything was massive. The corned beef hash and scrambled eggs was accompanied by a huge portion of shredded hash browns, which were excellent. The portions were huge. The biscuit was about the size of a softball. This place was a Family Restaurant and recently opened as Tasty Biscuit. Open and bright with cute decor. People were friendly and offered suggestions since the menu is full of delicious decisions. I observed the plates around me and many were presented nicely also. All tables are spread out and not on top of others which is nice. Portions are great, the biscuits are huge and melt in your mouth. Pancakes are fluffy not dense and the syrup came out warm and was tasty. I had the Fried green tomato Benedict and thought the guacamole sounded weird but it all went together perfectly! The potatoes had a nice crisp to them and were not too mushy like most places. At my table we also the Fall crepes as a special and a spinach mushroom skillet. The only con I have (which is no biggie) is they will not butter the bread so be sure if you like your toast buttered do it immediately upon receiving your food so the butter melts in. Let's talk coffee - I enjoy a regular hot cup of old fashioned coffee nothing fancy but they had so many options and flavors I tried the apple Carmel iced latte which was good however I could've done without all the whipped cream ( my preference). The regular coffee tasted fresh and not like it was sitting on the warmer. If you're in the area and if you're not make your way here and check it out. My server, Crystal, was to the next level great. She really took care of us and did her best to meet our requests even when Tracy, Supervisor on Shift, tried ruffling her feathers. To begin, the menu is overwhelmingly large. You always feel like you're missing something when you choose only one item. The coffee bar is delish; we had the red velvet cheese cake and the almond joy- no complaints. The slight issue arose as certain items can be substituted (mainly fish opposed to chicken) only for the items listed on the weekends. BUT, M-Fri you can substitute so as not to confuse the cook. Crystal who was new went to inquire about this, but Tracy gave her so much loud and unprofessional lip over the matter as if it's never done. Anywho, told her not to fret as I heard the witch talking, she wanted me to hear her then approached my table asking how things were...silence. Next, the portions are massive, love it, you can eat off this plate for a couple of days. We ordered the Wilbur and Big South. The chicken was lacking flavor but good texture wise. The fish was fine, but I would request it be fried hard next time and the hash browns should def be seasoned they were just white and hard. The biscuits were not warm when they came out, so if you want warm ones you have to request them from the bakery (weird, who doesn't want warm bread) and you get to choose two jams to go with. We had the pleasure to visit Tasty Biscuit for the first time over the weekend. From the outside, we thought as we walked in that it will have that gloomy ambience. It didn't. Bright and greeted with a smile by the host. Menu was overwhelming but enticing with all the dishes they offer. My spouse settled with chicken and waffles (again..lol) and I with skirt steak. We did order Beignet and what a treat it was!!! Came with cream cheese, nutella and some berries dip with it. This is my game changer as it was better than what I had in New Orleans. Wish their waffle texture is the same as the beignet. I think it would be a hit. My spouse was not a fan of the waffles, again. It didn't stand out but the chicken, that was really good. The meat was juicy, not dry at all and the skin was crisp at its best. My skirt steak was juicy and tender too. No complaints there. They serve big portions so you really get your money's worth. She was so sweet and friendly. She really changed the mood. We order our drinks. Coffee and Pepsi. My friend opens up the cream to pour in his coffee and it was completely curdled. Lol. It happens o guess. Waitress comes by a few minutes later "hun your creamer is curdled, you should have told me. You don't want us to know we are poisoning you "? Lol it was a great joke and made us laugh. She returns with fresh creamer. We order a side of biscuits ($10) meatloaf and blueberry lemon pancakes. Long story short the biscuits were large and not so hit. Kinda dry and just lukewarm. Pancakes come. Disappointment. Dry as dry can be. No zing to the side of sausage either. The blueberry pancakes were supposed to come with a compote but they just dumped some blueberries on top with some almonds. It was a mess. The pic had drizzles and just looked more appealing. Meatloaf good flavor but it was hard and cold on the edges. One that I can say is at least the potatoes that came with the meatloaf were good. The Pepsi was crisp. Idk. Would I come back here? In short no. The menu was way too large. It was like a book. They need to trim it down cus this many items on a menu is a recipe for disaster. Most uncomfortable feeling. A table next to us asked if we liked our food. They complained about their eggs being burnt and what not. As we went up to pay another customer was complaining about her strawberry pancakes being dry. (No compote as well) take the pics out of your menu lol. Nothing looks like the pic in the menu. Walked in and waited a few minutes, someone walk after and he was helped first then we were seated at a table that no one could fit in because it was in such a narrow aisle, so we asked if we could change tables and it was fine. When the hostess saw, she was pretty upset. It took the waitress forever to even acknowledge the table, it was busy so we let it go. She finally came and brought us water. My husband's water had something floating in it and brought it to her attention. She replied with, "oh, no protein for you? Got it" I took a drink of my water and it tasted like cleaner or some type of chemical. We got up to leave and the hostess and waitress were bothered. Said if I brought the water to their attention they would have swapped it out. She also mentioned they have new pipes so the water sometimes has a film on it and thats what i was tasting. An older lady with glasses/ curly hair whose attitude came across as if she hated her job.Food was always good but just double the amount that i can eat, therefore I order a kids meal. It's no surprise given the name, that kids meals are advertised for 12yrs and younger. In the many years that I have order a kids meal dinning out, I have never been questioned about it- except for here. When I am paying at the front, a different lady who greets and takes payment for the bill was also rude and giving me nasty looks. She told me "who ordered a kids meal, thats only for kids". I was just stunned by the audacity this lady had with her horrible customer service! If that wasn't allowed then why didn't my waiter tell me that!
