A hidden gem in Katy! I was craving for soup for the past couple of days so we tried lots of soup dishes from this place and they were all AMAZING! Tastyko wasn't stingy with protein! The meat were so soft and fluffy. The broth was full of flavors. We can't get enough of their soup! Doeji galbi: A sweet and salty soup. More towards the sweet side. If you are into sweet and savory dish, this is perfect for you. The pork was very tender. Gobjang chigae: The intestines were succulent! Sometimes intestines can be chewy and stinky...but in this soup, they were the opposite. They were tender, juicy and didn't smell at all. I love the iron/liver-after taste that the intestines gave. Also, the vegetables in the savory broth were such a treat! Galbitang: This is my all-time fave! Lots and lots of tender meat! The broth was savory and meaty. The noodle and radish made a perfect combo with the galbi. Try scooping the rice with some meat and soup and immediately take something sweet like fish cake or sweet potatoes...it will be a party in your mouth! Better yet, if you are into spicy food, ask for spicy paste and dunk 2-3 tbsp in the soup ...prepare to taste the yummiest soup! Ugeoji galbitang: Much like galbitang... However, It has a lot more veggies in it and it will throw you a curveball at the end of every sip! First, it was salty then the veggies gave a hint of sweet taste and then when you were done, there was a creamy aftertaste. Lastly, the service was awesome. I've been wanting to try this restaurant since I've seen the sign put up. Today, I finally got the chance today but as a takeout order. First of all I have the say that thwy keep the restaurant nice and clean. The staff were all nice and very accommodating and helpful. They were also more than happy to help you decide what to order if you're not too familiar with most Korean food. Now about the food... been craving bibimbap for a while now. So that's what I got, minus the beef. First of all, love that they separated the rice from the veggies when the packed it. It gives me the opportunity to mix however much of each I want when I mix in. Also, they give a lot that it's enough to eat for 2. They also included side dishes with my order - seaweed, kimchi, pickled cucumbers, and spiced potatoes. The bibimbap was delicious. The veggies were fresh and the rice was nicely cooked. I also ordered the deep fried shrimp. That too was delicious. The shrimp were not the jumbo shrimps and they were breaded just lightly and the sauce they gave with it was just the right taste of sweet and spicy. I am by no means a Korean food expert. To be honest up until my first few visits to this restaurant all I knew about Korean food was kbbq restaurants like (LA's) Gen, and fusion type foods like kbbq tacos, burritos, and kimchi fries. I met a friend who lived in Korea for years and she schooled me on some of the other various dishes Korea has to offer- and I want to say I'm a complete fan. This place was great. The staff was very sweet, and although I had no clue what was being said (my friend ordered in Korean) they made sure we were being taken cared of. The food was delicious. Our first visit we had this Pork soup and it was delicious. The meat was fall off the bone perfection, and it's stuff I crave even days later! They did let us Choose the level of spiciness- but even at the most mild level it was still kind of spicy for me! The other dishes were great too. I've come in a few times and each time we tried something new. I haven't had anything that wasn't good, or gave me this awesome home cooked comfort food feeling! read more

So delicious!! I've come here with family quite a few times and brought a friend here the other day. I really like their baby rib soup with cilantro, celery and daikon. The place has good service and pretty good food. It is worth the price for the amount of catering they do for their patrons. If you don't like authentic Korean food, this isn't the place for you. I found it to be not Americanized at all, which was just fine for my pallet. It's a good place to go for any kind of occasion. I've been twice. A very good first trip. My wife had the Kimchi Bibambap, I had the Jjajangmyeon and we shared a Tofu Jjigae. Everything was very good, although the soup could have been a bit spicier. I think they toned it down for me, thinking I wouldn't be used to Korean Level Spicy. The Jjajangmyeon reminded me of eating on the street corner restaurants in downtown Seoul years ago. My first time here. I was thinking that this place was going to be amazing because of the reviews... but it turned out to be a very mediocre experience.... I'd say the biggest draw back was the service... the lack of attentive service, when you have to flag your waiter down for a water refill (had only 1 refill with barely any ice in it) that's not what you call service....... if you're in the restaurant service business You should have at least a personality to go with it. yea the food was good, but nothing you can't get elsewhere. Honestly there's other places that provide a better overall experience. They didn't even offer to refill any of the vegetable sides with the bbq combo we ordered..... we just got tired of always trying to get the waiters attention for anything. Pre-COVID review. This is the place I come to when my mom is out of town and I am craving Korean food. It is definitely pricey, but all Korean food in Houston seems to be. Boo! But I still come here. Service is really good and side dishes aplenty. I am also Korean and rarely get back service at Korean restaurants. They serve gomtang, or beef broth soup? Which is hard to find around time. Ask to have the garlic on the side and make sure to get the red pepper paste and ask for extra green onions. I haven't had any of their meats because I find all Korean restaurants douse their pre-marinated meats in sugar and it's gross. But their bulgogi in the bibimbap is not bad. read more

Absolutely this is a winner. I had the #61 it was super good can't remember the exact name but I think it's the army soup. Also had the fried dumplings they were a little thicker than Im used to but were really good along with the dipping sauce.The little rice drink at the end was delicious a nice little palate cleanser. I wouldn't necessarily say this is one of the best Korean restaurant in town but my experience here wasn't too shabby. I liked the fact that it wasn't smoky inside like most kbbq places so that was a plus! Food was decent. The bulgogi rice hot stone (haha excuse my poor knowledge of the menu) was the best dish we ordered. I like how the rice is sizzling and cracking as you toss all the veggies and meat together. And top it off with a fried egg. That was yum. I'm a big fan of kimchi tofu soup so of course it's a must order dish. It was kind of a bit on the salty side and the portion was huge! Definitely not meant for one. I just wish the tofu was fresh tofu instead of the ones given. It was a bit tougher. But not too bad. I forgot to take pictures of the sides they give ya, but it wasn't enjoyable anyway. I didn't like the seaweed.. extremely slimy and fishy. The kim chi was probably freshly made since the cabbage was rather too crisp so all the seasonings didn't really stick on to it. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back if I'm craving kbbq. The hubby and I visited the other day for the first time. It's in the same strip center as Hoodadak and Cocohodo off Mason Rd., which is great. All those delicious spots in one place. When you walk in, you're greeted by the most friendly staff in Korean/English. The restaurant itself is spacious and even has these partitioned off sections for a more private feel. The waitstaff were also attentive and friendly. Not hovering, but there when needed. The menu had so many great items on it and I honestly wanted to order everything, but we narrowed it down to a few things. So, we started with the beef bulgogi eggrolls, and while they looked more like empanadas, they were really tasty. The dipping sauce it came with had that great red pepper kick and the eggrolls were stuffed with a hefty portion of bulgogi that was perfectly flavored. For one of the entrees, we ordered the LA Galbi (bone in marinated short ribs) that was served with a salad topped with Korean salad dressing. Think sesame/soy/red chili flakes/sugar. It's my favorite dressing on a salad. The short ribs were tender, flavored very well and so good. They do cook the bbq for you, not like other Korean bbq spots where you cook the food yourself. My husband ordered a bulgogi dish that was huge and served with an assortment of banchan. The bulgogi was delicious and stir fried with veggies. We were both full and satisfied afterwards. Their servings are also huge. Some of the prices might seem high, but you definitely get your money's worth compared to other Korean restaurants, I think. If I had anything to constructively criticize, is that we were charged $1/each for rice that we weren't asked if we wanted it or not. We basically thought it came with our meals because it was brought out with our dishes, but I noticed there was a misc. appetizer charge on our bill. The rice was the only thing it could have been as we didn't order anything else. We would have ordered it regardless, but it would have been nice to know about it up front. We'll definitely be back. We have many more things we want to try. The seafood pancake looked amazing, too. read more

Yes, I know, a lot. Surprisingly all of them turn out great! Many place it's always a hit a miss with a few dishes. It was not busy at 11am on a Saturday.
