However, the servers here were right in the middle of the horrendous lunch rush, and yet they still managed to carry out gestures that genuinely touched me- one of the waitresses waited at the door and held it open for us when my mom returned from the restroom because they could see that my mom had limited mobility. The guy serving us also made sure he was always giving her ample room to move around amidst all the chaos and commotion of the restaurant. Considering the tables and chairs are inches apart from each other too, we were pretty cramped. I asked another worker for utensils later on, and he was genuinely so sweet going about it, patient and smiling. Service here really warmed my heart, which was such a bonus. The setting was probably the most intriguing part. I am not familiar about the history of this particular location, but considering the walls in the hallway had old newspaper articles and images of the establishment from who knows how many decades ago, I would say it's teetering on the edge of being a museum in itself. I have had ones in previous visits that the beef was chewy, not tender. You have a choice of regular noodles or hand torn noodles. Hand torn noodles are more filling since the noodles are much thicker than the regular noodles. They are both good. It is a matter of preference. The minced pork with noodles (aka Jia Jiang mien) is also good. For this visit, I did not order dumplings. But their dumplings are usually good.
