Not bad and also not great. Ordered their Cheesey soup in a mild spicy level, comes with a iced green tea and it was all just ok. You order from the qr code so not much interaction with their staff, which is fine. One of the things I really liked about this location is that its a good amount of space with lots of tables and it was busy as it was lunch time however it wasnt to ok loud inside.
Overall: 4.8/5 This place is our go-to when we want something quick, warm, and seriously satisfying. It hits the spot every single time. Our favorites are the stinky tofu and the 9 Taiwanese Supreme. The bowls are always filled to the brim- no skimping here. If we're not starving and just want a quick fix, we can even share an order. I also love that you can customize the spice level of the soup to your liking. Service is consistently great: fast, attentive, and friendly. They also have a solid selection of boba or fruit slushies that pair perfectly with the food. Comfort food done right. :p
This is one of my favorite soup spots in the east Bay Area. We get seated right away every visit and order off the QR code located at the tables. We usually come during lunch hours but also came during dinner a few times too. I ordered the veggie soup & add a side of ramen and side of fish cake. I feel so good after eating here, the food is delicious and nutritious. During lunch they serve green tea which is a nice sweet contrast to the savory soups. the soups come out super hot so eat with caution. We love coming here a few times a year, definitely a fave of ours. all the customers seems to enjoy their meals and everyone is eating + having good conversations with family & friends. Overall, very chill vibe with hearty soup options! our tab price is roughly about $45-$50 for 2 people. looking forward to our next visit here, yummm.
Love Tasty Pot! This location is convenient and pretty consistent throughout the years. I recently revisited on a Saturday around 1:00pm and it was packed with a short wait. You order via your phone which is nice and convenient, although I wish they were a bit more thorough on what's included in each pot. Although I know my order, my husband isn't a huge fan of fish ball, fish cake, tofu, etc, so it'd be easier to pick if the info was listed. Our order came out fairly quickly, maybe about 10-15 minutes. Food was good portion per usual and soup was delicious. It was hard to get service though and flag down employees for more soup so we ended up not getting more. Overall, will be back. I enjoy their food and consistency. Service is alright but fast.
I've been eating at this restaurant for almost ten years. In the beginning, the cabbage used to be cooked very soft, and they even served fresh raw seafood. But now, most of the dishes are undercooked and too tough, and the seafood isn't as good as before. Because some customers complained that the seafood was too raw, others who don't know how to cook it properly often end up with stomach issues after eating. Overall, I always order the Japanese seafood hot pot with rice, and the soup base is still excellent, with generous and good-quality ingredients. The only real problem is that the cabbage is just way too hard! On the bright side, the sauce is great, and they even serve complimentary green tea during lunch. The service is good, the environment is clean, and the prices are reasonable. My favorite place for individual hot pot hands down. Other individual pot places simply don't compare because the broth and seasonings at Tasty Pot are the most flavorful of them all. They definitely have the best beef pot. The availability and variety of toppings is abundant, anything you can think of they likely offer. There's also a decent drink menu so you can order boba to enjoy with your meal. I believe they offer free iced tea with lunch but I usually come during dinner so I've only gotten it a few times. However, I remember the complimentary tea being good! The drinks you can order off the menu are yummy too. Service is always attentive and quick, and most importantly consistent. I know I can expect my order to come out exactly how I like it every time. Also Tasty Pot offers a rewards system if you put down your phone number. I'm a regular but I find even when I don't dine here as much I still accumulate enough points for a free pot fairly often. This is my reliable go to restaurant when I want to have a satisfying, comforting hot meal. The best!!
Came here on a Sunday around 12:30 with a party of 7. They were busy which is good thing and had to wait about 30 minutes. Although the wait was longer than we all liked it was worth it. The food came out fairly quickly and we were eating in no time. Very well priced for the quality and my whole group enjoyed it. I personally got the beef hot soup and ordered it mild. Although it was mild it had a decent kick and more than I would like. Next time I would order it no spice as that's my preference. Highly recommend this place and looking forward to my next visit!
Had lunch at Tasty Pot with my family. There were a couple of unexpected things. The tea was sweet, which wasn't what I was expecting. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's something to be aware of if you prefer unsweetened tea. We also ordered the stinky tofu, but the waitress told us it wasn't fried. We decided to cancel that order, which was a bit disappointing. I appreciated the waitress letting us know, though. The hot pot itself was fine, and the service was decent. It was an okay meal, but the tea and the tofu were a bit unusual.
This hotpot was pretty good similar to the one in milpitas. The flavors are really similar but the service here was more attentive.
Food - 4/5 we used to frequent tasty pot chains a lot in the old days but haven't been to one much in the past 1-2years. Went with my usual order of Thai soup pot but found the soup to be a little less rich in flavors this time. Service - 3/5 I have never been to a place where they out of the blue, turned up volume of music and blast loud in middle of our eating and chatting. I wonder if it's because the store closes in 20mins time and they just wanted to get patrons to finish up and leave but I can tell you for sure it was really uncomfortable eating in that condition. I was so tempted to ask them to lower the volume but refrained from doing so. Ambience 3/5 parts of the floor was slippery and greasy. Had to walk super slow to avoid slip.
This is a classic if you want to eat something tasty and warm while in this cold weather. I simply cannot resist the taste of a nice boiling hot pot in rainy weather. The miso hot pot (medium) has a nice kick, which is spicy and savory. Lots of goodies in there. Service was prompt and ambiance is casual.
Finally decided to try this place after years of driving by, usually there's lines out the door for dinner. Me and a buddy went for a late lunch in the afternoon. No crowds and the dishes came out pretty quick. I loved the hot pot heater apparatus, gonna try to find out how I can get some of those for the home. There are plenty of options for meat lovers and vegetarians, they do have a veggie broth. My friend enjoyed his vegetarian. I was happy with the kimchi dumpling dish. For under $20 (pre-tax) I was pleasantly surprised to find such a cornucopia of proteins...clams, shrimp, fish cake, Chinese, sausage, meatball, imitation, crab, pork, and I added extra beef. It was a pretty good side portion for $5.95. I was going for keto, so I asked to replace the noodles with veggies which they agreed to do for no charge,. I was a bit disappointed that it was just a cup of cabbage, but they did me a favor and didn't charge me so I didn't complain and it's not enough to Knock any stars off. It gave me a healthier low-carb soup that I was looking for. Next time I might see if I can pay a couple $$ for real veggies like zucchini, broccoli etc. The complementary glass of sweet iced green tea was a nice touch, but you don't get refills. The service was a touch slow but accommodating and friendly. The music and vibe made for a nice atmosphere. A pleasant surprise was the soybean chili paste that comes complementary in the sauce tray at the table. There are others, but the soybean one was outstanding IMO. It added just the right amount of spice and a great umami flavoring for dipping dumplings, proteins and cabbage from the soup. There were some good looking appetizers and Boba options , but we didn't try them, maybe next time. Adding on anything though will mean taking home leftovers. If you can finish the whole bowl, you'll probably be pretty full. I did, I was. A great little spot overall, I'm already looking forward to going back!

Comforting is the word that first pops up in my mind when I think about Tasty Pot. It's like a hug from my grandmother. My favorite is the Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup (no noodles for me). It's has tons of meat, veggies, fish balls etc. The broth is hot, well seasoned & very savory. There's a small fire under each bowl to keep the soup warm. They also have an array of condiments that compliments the soup. All staff are extremely friendly, courteous, considerate & kind. Shout out to Johnny & April! Prices are reasonable. Casual, relax & family-friendly restaurant. Tasty Pot is surely 1 of my favorite soup place here in the Bay Area. Double thumbs up!!! Highly recommended! read more

Went to another branch of Tasty Pot, felt the food was slightly better here with less processed fish balls/meatballs etc. It is a busy restaurant, but there is alot of seating space. Unfortunately one of our dishes had the instant soup oil packet in the soup...which we only saw at the end of the meal. The manager said it was from the instant noodle packet but oh well I guess you now know the noodles are from there. He apologised and refunded us a little, but as you know we don't know if the plastic bits had melted into the soup already. Just removing stars for that! read more

Hubby and I came in for a quick meal on a cold night-- and this was perfect! We got the lamb pot and the Taiwanese pot and shared, and portions are pretty hefty even if they only give a few pieces of each ingredient. We had enough left over to bring home and make noodles with the next day. Prices are decent, service was quick (we ordered at the table with QR code and they brought the food out within 10 minutes), and place was clean. Would definitely come back! read more

I'm so impressed by this place! Their food, service, and prices all hit the bar for me. Presentation of the food is lovely and small touches such as the complimentary tea and availability of the servers make this a great spot! I was worried the individual soup pots with pre-selected mixture of ingredients wouldn't give me the choice and experience of DIY hotpot but they really know what they're doing. Each pot has a variety of noodles, veggies, and meat (beef, fish cake, mussels, imitation crab, squid) that is very satisfying and there's nothing more I wanted. Each portion is a hefty quantity of food and finishing the pot is a challenge. The extra noodles weren't needed. We had some issues with our burner being too hot and spilling but we were able to quickly flag down a server to get it fixed. Food came out fast and you just order on a website. The only downside is I don't like the flimsy plastic spoons and forks, wish they had the reusable ones but otherwise good. I'll come again! read more

I don't know if it's my imagination or what but the portion of the hot pot here appears to be bigger than other Tasty Pot I have gone to. My friend was skeptical, yet enthused about getting a lobster tail in the seafood pot and she was absolutely delighted when she saw in person that it was indeed a decent size tail. I got my #2 lamb pot and I truly believe the portion was bigger than the ones I had in SB (you can see the food overflowing the pot in my photo) and it was great! Too bad Newark is far from where I am or else I would be hitting the joint every week! read more
Their lunch and dinner menu are the same prices now except during lunch, they give you green/black tea. You order via QR code. Order comes out fairly quickly once you place your order. The beef pot I ordered was $17.50 and my friend ordered the Thai seafood pot which was $20.50 (larger portion). We both ordered it flaming spicy. I've ordered the flaming spicy in the past and it used to live up to its name of being that flaming spicy. This time it wasn't as spicy as we had expected. They constantly walk around refilling broth and your water. Tasty pot never disappoints! Always a good dining experience. read more
Came here on a weeknight evening around 6pm in October and they have outdoor seating. They blocked off part of the parking lot and put up tents and tables. We had a party of 3 and didn't make any reservations but there were already lots of people there but we didn't have to wait. Everything was mainly contactless. Once you arrive, you scan the QR code on the table and you can order directly from your phones without having to interact with a host. The only downfall is that you have to make sure you request everything you want before interacting with them, especially with napkins, spoons, cups, and chopsticks. It got a little difficult tracking them down during the evening. I love the Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup. All of your soups come in their own bowls and everything is all set. I don't think I got mine extra spicy and it comes with either a side of rice or noodles. It's a lot easier than the traditional hot pot because everything is already inside. Seriously. This has to be the worst food. Period. This is not even a 1 star. This is a negative 0 star. All of our soups had 0 flavor and was extremely watered down. Ordering system is awkward. There are servers but you have to place order yourself using your phone. Once you place your order - heavy smoker will deliver your food and forget to bring you rice and other extra side orders. Tasty pot was super yummy! It's not all you can eat so it's not too overwhelming. They have a good selection of soup bases but I ended going with the Taiwanese beef base, mild. The bowl is on top of a fire contraption so it comes boiling! Be extra careful if you care for your mouth. Lol the soup is like a little party in a bowl as it comes with a bunch of fun tingz ~ meat of course, noodles, fish balls, mushrooms, veggies, etc. It also comes with either rice, vermicelli noodles, or something else I forgot what. You can also add more toppings if you'd like! The only random thing was they don't have a lot of drink options like soda... unless I missed it. But all in all, top hotpot spot! read more

I'm addicted to this place. I literally come here every week, sometimes twice a week. Their soups are so delicious. I always get the beef soup and the boba drinks are so good too, especially the fruity ones. I've tried them all and they're all so good. During lunch time they include an ice sweet tea with your meal. They also come around refilling your soup, and you need anything they come bring it so fast. read more

I went to this restaurant two in a half weeks ago for the first time. I went with my friend and her husband. They have been there several times and they really like it. My friend was really eager for me to try it. It was a rainy day so it was a perfect day for this. I was so glad I tried it, the Kimche, Dumpling soup I ordered was amazing. It came with a cold green tea drink and the tea was ok, but it's great that it's included with the order. My friend ordered the lobster soup. However, I forgot what her husband ordered, but I know he enjoyed his order. I like how you get your own personalized hot pot. I'm not super familiar with Hot Pot Restaurants, but I think the personalized pan is a result of COVID. I like it better that we get our personalized pot. The young lady that took our order was very nice. It did not take long for us to get our food. The ambiance was cute and the place was clean. I would definitely come back and try something different. Really delicious personal sized hot pot! My go-to is the curry hot pot. Every time I've gotten it, the soup has been very flavorful and it's loaded with tons of fresh ingredients. If you go during lunch, you also get a free tea to go with your meal. The restaurant does get crowded, especially in the evening, but usually you don't have to wait that long! I went again for the first time in a while for lunch, and the service was kind of lacking. We got seated immediately and after 15 minutes of waiting, we had to flag someone down to ask for a menu and water. Had the best experience Sunday with my wife, siblings, and aunt and uncle. First time ever trying taiwanese food and may I say it was memorable. Food was tasty, service was really fast and friendly, the music was great and the restaurant was very clean. Dessert was bomb even though it was a small macaroon. This place has gotten quite expensive! I haven't had Tasty Pot at this location for a year and was craving some so I went with my boyfriend. First, I was very surprised by the price. It was about $17 per hot pot plus tax... ran us about $22 each after tax. I think it's a little too expensive for the price. My boyfriend and I both got the #1 beef hot soup, which was good and came boiling hot. Be careful to not burn your tongue. The pot is still loaded with goodness: beef, tomato, tofu, tofu skin, fish balls, etc. I enjoyed the pot. What I'm disappointed about is that the sauces aren't available on the table anymore for you to mix and match. You get a very small cup full of sauce, which sucks if you like a lot of sauce like me. However, I still like the food and the service was good. I just don't think it was worth $22 a pop. read more

Such a filling yet TASTY place to go. I always feel super full after I eat her. I like how I get the choice of rice or noodles. Wish they gave a little more noodles. In a shared plaza next to a smoke shop & Itea. Think I saw a Chase Bank too in there. Took 2 friends here to celebrate their birthdays. Never really got into the whole Hot Pot hype but they love it! Anyway, got the Japanese Miso option (picked mild) and fiancé got the Beef Hot Soup. They ask you if you want rice or vermicelli with your soup although mines did come with Udon noodles already. The soups tasted okay. Hard to eat since bowl was overflowing with soup, veggies, seafood, meat. The sauces at the table weren't labeled so was a little confusing. Tried one of em' and it was crazy spicy! FYI, this isn't the kind of hotpot where you throw stuff in and cook it yourself. Everything comes together in the boiling pot already. They have milk & fruit teas too by A-Cha. With tip for 4 guests, came out to $90. Pretty expensive. Service was fine and everything but didn't think food/experience was anything amazing. read more
It took me some time to try hot pot/tasty pot but I can see why a lot of people love it. The type of soup, meat, veggies you want, they have some type of dish that will help satisfy your craving. And you can adjust the temperature of your soup to how you like it, and I really appreciate this because I love when my soup is warm. So I would definitely recommend coming here if you are in the mood for soup. I also like that with Tasty Pot you can do your reservations online. It is very useful because I hear that it gets packed during dinner time and during the weekend. So if you can, I highly suggest reserving if you think it's going to busy! The staff here are friendly, and they're really fast with ordering and serving the food, which you appreciate when you're hungry. The reason for my 4 star instead of 5 is.. I have this theory that my stomach reacted to the food, and it wasn't very pleasant. But I would still give it another chance because it is truly delicious read more

This is my favorite place. The lamb hot pot is really good, everyone should try it. I have been here several times and the quality of their food has always very good. The staff are also very nice and they provide us with good service. Their price has increased little bit during Covid-19, but I think this is understandable. As far as I know, prices and taxes have increased in all places. Trust me this place is worth a try！！！ read more
I ordered Tasty Pot to go for the first time the other day and the food was still delicious! I initially thought it wasn't enough soup but it was filling and I could only finish half of my meal. I guess not eating at the restaurant with it coming boiling to the table and the soup refills that I didn't eat it as fast? Haha I ordered the beef soup with medium heat and vermicelli. I love hot pots, so I decided I would come here and try Tasty Pot out. My mom got the Stinky Tofu Hot Soup and I got the Lamb Hot Soup. You could get the pots in different spice levels, so my mom and I both got mild. Lamb Hot Soup- Honestly, the portions were relatively small. I would have liked more meat in the soup because there were a couple tiny pieces and that was basically it. The broth was actually very delicious and all the ingredients came together perfectly. I loved the meatballs they included. It reminded me of the pho meatballs which worked well in the pot. Overall, I would come here again, but get the stinky tofu hot pot. After I took a sip of my mom's soup, I fell in love. read more
Have come to this location a number of times over the past couple months because it's a the closest hot pot place my friends and I go to when we are craving hot pot real quick and are too lazy to do it at home (I personally think doing hot pot at home is the cheapest funnest way to go - but sometimes life is too busy ya know?) Also I like it because it's a personal hot pot place but the wait is shorter than boiling point or other places (especially on weeknights - shouldn't have a problem). If it's a weekend, use the Yelp waitlist and walk around the Newark plaza for a bit while you wait. My order: - I usually get the Kimchi hot soup - the reason I like it is because it actually comes with pork slices and mini sausage, so it's not completely vegetarian. It also comes with dumplings which I like, and clams among other things (peep pic). My friends usually get the beef hot soup - Every meal comes with either noodles or rice, I usually get noodles! (It's the clear vermicelli type noodles) - Last time I also got the black creme milk tea Pros: - Lunch is definitely more bang for your buck - it's cheaper ($11.99 I think for kimchi) and comes with a drink! Dinner is more pricey unfortunately, the base price is like $16 and if you get a drink your total bill is like $21+ - Utilize the Yelp waitlist - Pretty clean - I like the spicy sauces they have available at the table - Something I usually do - the kimchi hot soup actually comes with a raw egg in the middle - I'm weird and I like scooping out the raw egg into my bowl, mixing it, and adding in some spicy sauce and dipping my food in that before I eat it (does anyone else do that ??) - Milk tea wasn't bad - People come by frequently to ask you if you want your soup refilled - can choose spicy level (I usually go with Mild or +1) - Broth stays warm the whole time, I think they have a good timer on the flame - Easy parking Cons: - Potential long wait time - A little pricey if you go for dinner, kind of wish dinner was like $13 TLDR: good go-to in the area for individual hot pot read more
Always a 5 star no matter the location. Took my parents here for the first time and lucky for us this location was in their city of Newark Ca. I usually go to the two locations in San Jose if not the one in Milpitas Ca. This was a Saturday visit so we expected it would be busy. Restaurant got full as soon as we arrived around 12:30 and we were a group of 7 ourselves. Got seated fast and food / drinks arrived as fast as could be seeing they had many tables as well. Staff was even nice enough to accommodate my 5 yr old nephew who eats nothing but plain noodles lol. No veggies or meat kind of kid. Noodles and broth and he was happy! I love this place! They have the best broth and their side sauces are really really good! I've never dined in, only togo it. I bet it taste more amazing when dine in. The beef is my favorite and so is their kimchi dumpling! Usually when I pick up my food they give free green tea however if you DoorDash it, no free tea. Definitely will be back! read more

Tasty pot is one of my favorite hot pot places. The portions here are great, my boyfriend and I shared the Sichuan pot and we had a lot left over. We also ordered a side of beef and blood rice cake, but we didn't even need it since we couldn't even finish what the dish came with. The Sichuan is definitely my favorite, followed by the Taiwanese supreme pot. The pots come filled with tons of ingredients, I love the cabbage and the fish cakes the most. The sauces are also pretty good, my favorite is the peanut sauce. The pot comes with garlic in sesame oil, I wish they gave the minced garlic as one or the sauces since that's my favorite sauce ingredient lol. Anyway tastypot is amazing. Does anyone know how the food is packaged for takeout? Is the soup separate from the meat, veggies, etc?

Can I order veggie pot in a soup base other than thai or mild? I prefer the other soup bases, but prefer veggie pot (it is ok if soup base is meat based)
Their broths are either meat of veggie based. Just let the server knows what kind of broth you'd like. Same when replenishing your pot. Let them know that you want veggie. Otherwise, the servers will serve you meat-based broth.
I know when it comes to the sauces there is a garlic soy sauce, sha cha sauce, chili oil. Does anyone know what the other sauce is? I've asked my waiter and he told me it was soybean chili sauce, but i still cant fond it in stores
You should be able to find soybean chili sauces in any Asian market like Ranch99 or H-Mart. Hope that answers your question!
Is there a veggie broth? I see the veggie pot but is the broth used also vegetarian based?
Yes, spoke to the Newark CA Tasty Pot, they answer: " it is vegetarian based soup ".
Does the lamb pot taste similar to Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot? Is it good and worth getting?
Not the same. But it's super tasty! Totally worth get it. A small tip: their spicy is super spicy. Medium is already too much for most people
What kind of sauces do they have? When I asked them, they were kinda clueless on telling me what it was. They said it was just "sauce" -_-"
The sauces on the table are soybean paste, chili oil, garlic soy sauce, and satay sauce.
