I've only had ramen (that didn't come in a square wrapper or styrofoam cup) twice. The first time I absolutely loved it (o have to look the place up and go back, it was great). I wasn't a fan of what I ordered here (Tonkotsu Miso Ramen) which I was told was their most popular bowl. At all. Just not my thing. It was a very large portion, got it to go and the wait time wasn't bad, the service was also great. But the bowl is not something I'd ever want to try again. We went there on Saturday , August 31,2024. Food was good- portions large.We brought some what we didn;'t finish, but customer service sucked. The guy was not accommodating at all. I asked for a bit of rice vinegar on the side and he was tripping. I understand if he didn't have it but it was his attitude and demeanor. - almost rude. Sorely disappointed in this krate. To start, we walked in and the place had almost every table covered in bowls. We chose a table that was clean after ordering and sat for a good 30 mins before being told the food was almost done. Brought the food out... And they brought tonkatsu ramen instead of vegetable ramen (because we couldn't have pork). Got that fixed then they missed out egg, got that added and finally could eat. The food was good, but not worth the price or the wait we had to go through. Because we sat inside, I think our food got pushed forward too because the group that was in front of us ordered and went outside and had to come in to ask where their food was. They didn't get their food until after we had completely finished eating. They either need more staff or better organization. It was 1 guy running register and cleaning up while 1 guy cooked. This is my favorite go to for some delicious ramen and the best chicken fried hibachi, every time I have eaten here the quality of the food is amazing and perfect every time. Portions are wonderful and fair for the price, service is good and fast. Quite literally one of my favorite places to get some ramen. A good amount of seating inside and outside and nothing better then some warm ramen and fried rice on a cooler day. I got takeout from this place as the venue was a bit too small for me. I ordered the tonkatsu shoyu ramen which was decent for the price! For $16 there were a lot of noodles, thick slabs of meat, a delicious soy sauce egg with green onions, red pepper and seaweed. I only had one minor issue with the ramen and it was the broth that was way too salty! My family and I all agreed that this ramen would've been better had they added more water to reduce the saltiness. My recommendation is that this place is a good price for the amount of food but you will definitely need to drink a lot of water to eat here. It said it's open at 10am on Saturday and the sign on the door said so too but since we got there exactly at 10am we went in there n asked if they are open but none of them said anything , one guy just looked at us and went on to do his own thing. Tasty Ramen is located at the Krates in the shopping plaza of The Groves. Although it's a really small space, and is kind of plain in the decor inside, it's one of the more comfortable spots in the Krate plaza to eat since they have the air condition blasting and a few decent sized tables inside. I ordered the Tonkatsu miso Ramen combo which comes with your choice of an appetizer ($20). I chose crab Rangoon to go with it. The soup is nice and fatty, which is what the best part of pork tonkatsu broth. I ordered an extra egg (+$2) (perfectly cooked, not a marinated ramen egg though) and they give you a generous amount of the pork chashu in thick slices. There was nothing special about the crab Rangoon, but no complaints either. Would recommend it if you're in the area and trying to decide whether to try it or continue to walk past it to see what the rest of the plaza has. read more

Unfortunately we had the Ramen last night to go... $35 for two bowls of Ramen... I had vegetarian and my husband had the seafood. The seafood had three clams, imitation crab meat, three shrimp, and five or six scallops... They were so small I couldn't even see them. This is not worth the money! We decided to try this place out when we were told they have hibachi. We got shrimp/noodle and a chicken/rice hibachi along with ramen to go. Some of the worst food I've had and over priced. Broth was way too salty, and only came topped with handfuls of the cheap bean sprouts and traces of other veggies. Store bought dipping sauces/noodles and chef admitted the spring rolls were frozen. Not to mention they don't do sides of rice. I asked to substitute cloud mushrooms for soft boiled egg. They said it would cost $2 extra. I instead asked for extra enoki mushrooms. They said they don't have enoki mushrooms despite it being in the description of the veg ramen. The chef was rolling his eyes and giving an attitude when I even mentioned enoki mushrooms. I had to show him his own menu to prove they were in the item description. They said ok we do have enoki mushrooms and agreed to sub the cloud ones. When I received the ramen it had very few cloud mushrooms and no enoki mushrooms. They obviously cut corners where they can, filling your plate with the cheapest ingredients. Save time don't go here. read more
