    Salmon with foie gras!!!
    Olivia P.

The omakase dinner here is amazing. The fish is so fresh and the courses left me satisfied, which cannot be said about all omakase dinners. I loved the salmon bite with foie gras and Wagyu. The quality was just so good!

I recently celebrated my birthday at Tatsuda Restaurant and it turned into an unforgettable evening. Chef Sean's talent was on full display as he carefully crafted each roll, combining the freshest fish in a way that made every piece feel unique and tasted absolutely out of this world. Beyond the incredible food, the warm hospitality truly made the night special. To my surprise, the staff brought out a delicious chocolate cake on the house and even sang a birthday song, which made my celebration feel extra meaningful. It's rare to find a place where I was treated not just as a customer, but as a special guest . Tatsuda continues to be my favorite restaurant and I always look forward to coming back. Thanks !

Cuisine: 8 Service: 8 Decor: 8 Value: 8 Overall: 8 With all the sushi omakase options out there, I am grateful that some of them didn't follow the formula of using crazy amounts of fancy toppings and overpowering sauces. Even more surprising that it's located right near Time Square. Opened toward the latter part of 2023, I have been here a handful of times. Their 16 course omakase is now $90 for 75 minutes. The short timeframe is probably one of my least favorite part of all the omakase restaurants opening up over the last decade. Thankfully, at least they put out a decent product with a reasonable price. The meal starts off with three prepared courses. On my last visit, they served Snow Crab Salad, Monk Fish Liver, and Grilled Black Cod. I thoroughly enjoyed all the starters. Then it continues with 13 pieces of nigiri, which I will get into details below, and finishing off with a piece of creamy cheesecake-like version of tamago. Overall, a very good meal. As for the nigiri, I thought the rice was decent, but sadly nothing special. However, the freshness and cut of the seafood was up average for the price range. Considering it as one product, I would say that it's satisfying enough for me to revisit. The host and chefs are all quite nice. I had good conversations with them both. Going forward when I am in the neighborhood for Broadway shows, I'll consider coming here for a quick dinner.

The fish was very fresh. I liked all the sushi I got. I don't know if I would say this was a great deal for the price point. It wasn't the worst, but also not amazing. The sushi chef didn't really make yours in front of you. The catered to everyone at the bar at the same time, so you can't really watch them make your order each time. It was also very loud because there was another large birthday party, so this was probably not the best experience for everybody else.

I went to Tatsuda for the omakase dinner. Ambience is a little more casual than what you'd expect from an omakase restaurant. The ingredients were remarkably fresh and delicious (I recommend trying the Uni - sweet, briny, and rich). Chef Andy was knowledgeable of his craft and friendly. I was quite pleased with the sake selection and the host's deep knowledge of sake. At $90/pp (as of 4/21/26), this certainly is a great value. But don't let the price fool you! Tatsuda does not compromise on quality.

Best sushi I've had in my entire life. Great, attentive service. Perfect pacing. I wouldn't think 16 pieces would fill me up, especially since I came in hangry, but it was the perfect amount.

A very small restaurant. All seats are on the counter, less than 15. It has no menu. You eat whatever the sushi San gives you, all seafood though. It was delicious and enjoyable but our sushi-San wasn't too social or talkative. Very reasonably priced.

Great omakase place that's decently priced with pretty good quality fish/portion sizes! Service was fast and friendly and ambiance was pretty casual-- good to come for a casual date night or if you're just craving some sushi. We both got the 16 piece dinner omakase set and ordered a bottle of sake on the side. Overall, most of the nigiri pieces were good (ofc not the level of the $200, $300+ omakase placed in NYC but also better than your average joe omakase place). The sake we got (35 year old one) was very smooth and good too! The pieces I liked the most are: 1. All the tuna pieces (bluefin tuna, fatty tuna): 10/10 (I'm biased because I love fatty fish) 2. Uni: 10/10 (also biased because I love uni! But I love how they give you uni TWICE??) 3. Yellowtail: 10/10 (once again... biased because I loooove yellowtail) 4. Wagyu/beef: 10/10 (super tender and flavorful) 5. Ankimo: 9/10 (good but a little lacking in flavor when compared to the ankimo I had in Korea) The pieces I wash meh about: - Appetizer/toast with uni and caviar: 7.5/10 (love how they start you off with uni AND caviar but... why is on bread!!! I feel like that was a bit unnecessary... it would've been 10/10 if it was ok regular sushi rice) - One of the white fishes: 2/10 (I don't remember which fish it was other than it was one of the white fishes in the middle of the course. It was extremelyyyy fishy!!!!)

I came here for a birthday dinner and we had a great time. Located in Hell's Kitchen, this omakase spot is $90pp and 16-courses. Service here is steady and doesn't feel rushed, but they definitely do stick to their 75 minutes. We got a variety of your expected sashimi, such as their amberjack, red snapper, salmon, and scallop. Everything was fresh and delicious. I loved their monkfish liver more than I expected (I normally don't like it). And, they ended their course with a cheesecake that was delightful. As we went for a birthday dinner, they also brought out cake and sang, which was super fun. Truly enjoyed my time here and my friends said they would come back!

Had a fantastic omakase here - it is 75 mins so they do keep you to your time. The pieces weren't super crafted but were tasty and a reasonable price for the amount of pieces. The only marks off would be for the sake I was recommended (dassai 23 I think) which had the cloying sweet taste I dislike as well as the matcha cheesecake which is not rich nor custard and almost dry. I did try the tatsuda special for an upcharge and wow, while I was plenty full, this was an amazing piece all blended well together.

    Julie P.

Highly overpriced for the experience received Upon arrival the table seated were for 6 people and it was very crammed. Every time the door was open you would get the cold rainy draft. It is very rushed and the chef barely spoke at all. There was excessive upsell and to be honest the Uni and hokkado salmon and wagyu add on were not good at all. The dessert served with the 16 course dinner was awful, match cheese cake it was powdery and stale! They do make good cocktails and their eel, mackerel, and king salmon sashimi was great! The sturgeon caviar was very mild. Their pickled wasabi was a treat for your tastebuds. At $400 for 2 people. Sadly i was disappointed! They did give a complimentary shot of sake which was good quality. No frills , clean but crammed.

Tatsuda Omakase was honestly one of the most fun and memorable dining experiences I've ever had. I came here to celebrate my graduation dinner, and everything from start to finish was on point. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, especially Dave, who really stood out--he made sure every guest stayed "hydrated" and comfortable, which added such a personal touch to the night. We were super late but still made it accommodating to catch us up. We went with the 18-piece omakase and did the two-sake pairing, which I highly recommend. Every piece was carefully prepared and super fresh. My top favorites were the shrimp, fatty tuna, and salmon--unreal flavor and texture. The vibe was quiet, intimate, and the ambiance felt calm and elevated--exactly what you'd want for a special night out. If you're looking to treat yourself or celebrate something big, this place is definitely worth it.

    Amber C.

This is a decent omakase serving fresh cuts of fish: 13 pieces for $90. The service was super kind and the chef gave pretty good service. He asked us if we were enjoying the meal and if there were any pieces we didn't like. I knocked off a star because there were minor (yet fixable) things that I was not a fan of. The fish should be more room temperature but it was a bit too warm as it was precut. Usually, I give grace for pre cut fish but these seemed to stay out a bit too long. Fish quality was decent, nothing outstanding but nothing was fishy. For the price at $90, I feel that there are similar quality sushi omakase in NYC that are cheaper around the $65-$80 range. This one did not seem to be any different than the "more affordable" options. Nonetheless, glad I tried it.

Special add on wagyu, scallop, toro and caviar- a perfect bite!

To drink, I had a Hot Organic Super Matcha Tea for 4.95. It was alright tea, and I wish teas were included in the price point, as otherwise, this place feels pretty traditional. In terms of food, I only ordered from the seasonal menu, so I'm not sure how the rest of the dishes are, but from what I had, I would go back for a light traditional meal. My appetizer was the Dashimaki Tamago/だし巻まき卵たま, or sweet savory omelet with daikon for $6.98. This came with three pieces along with a little dollop of grated radish. The pieces had a light sweetness to them along with a bit of savoriness. They were juicy and a bit bouncy while maintaining some softness. This was standard and good. My main dish was the $19.98 Beef Tan Tan Udon, or ground sirloin beef, spicy broth, baby bok choy, kikurage mushroom, scallions, and sesame seeds. While I have preferred udon from spots like Raku, the udon had a mild chew to it, and they were still good. The broth had a mix of sweetness and spiciness with a nice depth of flavor. The vegetables inside tasted fresh, and the meat added some richness. This was good as well. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go here, but the food was good. If you're in the area and looking for no frills Japanese dining in a more comfortable atmosphere at pretty decent Midtown East prices, I would recommend this place.
