The one located on Charles Street was directly on the way to the conference I was attending, so I started to go to this location on the way to work. It is much smaller than the one at Back Bay, but cozy and welcoming. The decoration as well as their menu offering is about the same, so you could still get the same good delights from here. The seating is quite limited, just a handful of tables and a few counter seating by the entrance/exit. But, they do have a lovely outdoor seating, although not large, but with nice greenery and a few enthusiastic little birds. On a first day, I got a few baked goods to go. I ordered an Almond Croissant which was large, fluffy, sweet, flaky, everything I wanted it to be. I also got something called Chocolate Rose. it was good, tasty, not too chocolate-y but still got the chocolate flavor that I wanted. On the second day, I had my breakfast right there at their outdoor seating. I got Iced Mocha, strong with very noticeable mocha flavor. For food, I ordered Ricotta & Jam Tartine. These were HUGE pieces of bread, much bigger than I expected them to be... It was rich, creamy, fresh and tart, each bite was heavenly. It was so filling that after having a half of one, I was getting really full. Giving this much of high quality, delicious breakfast item for below $10 is so crazy, it should be a crime! So, there you have it. This location is also a pretty darn good spot for a quick or relaxing breakfast. read more

This is a lovely cafe that saved my friend and I from the rain! We ducked in here for some breakfast and coffee on a super rainy day. The avocado toast was delish and the pastries were tasty too. It was hard to choose what to get from all of the yummy looking options. We ended up hanging around for well over an hour while it poured outside, but they were very nice and didn't say anything. I was visiting Boston during COVID-19 and had to get a sweet fix. Boy, this location has such a great way to satisfy sweet cravings. You order online and when I went in there quite a few orders ready for pick up I have to say I got a glimpse of what was in The cases and all the sweets like to bind! My favorite bakery and cafe in Boston! Israeli inspired bakery and dishes are amazing! My favorites are Jerusalem bagel, lamb sandwich and lamb plate! Loved the pine nuts and labneh sauce in these dishes. And make sure you add pickled red cabbage to your lamb plate, def a great addition to the original dish! Staff are super friendly and helpful! Def will come back again and again! P.s. i do noticed a difference of their staff's attitude in different locations tho. We popped in here while walking around and exploring Boston. We thought we'd just grab a little pastry and coffee; however, we found out that they had other, more substantial food. I ordered the quiche with a side salad, and my husband ordered the shashuka and a mocha. The food came out and delicious! I absolutely devoured my quiche! However, the staff was rude to my husband, insisting on making him a latte instead of a mocha. It was really weird. Also, the manager was sitting, taking up one whole table, for over an hour during a very busy time. Loved the food and the atmosphere; the staff needs some training. read more

I still doubt it but this Boston chain with their flagship on Beacon Street around the corner from the Boston Four Seasons serves, coffee, Expresso, and pastries that deserves Legendary status best breakfast in New England! If you are going to Boston or live in Boston, Tatte is a must! I went everyday - I'm obsessed. The quality of food is always top notch and the prices are fair. The only drawback is that long line that's usually out the door and limited open tables, but that's how you know it's good. I'm such a fan I even bought one of their cute little pins to put on my denim jacket and another for my coffee bestie. I think the pictures will speak for themselves. The dessert case is wondrous, not sure you can resist, and the Belgian Hot Cocoa....wow. I want to give this place a higher rating but they gave me my pear tart in a paper bag, unheated, even though I told them I was having it for here. My bf ordered a sandwich, so they gave him a number, so while we waited, I ate my pear tart on a paper bag :| when my guy's food came, we asked about our coffee and they told us they were on the counter. We were in Boston for four days. Two of those days we ate breakfast at Tatte Bakery, so what does that say? With a full day of touristing ahead, we split a prosciutto scrambled egg plate in the interest of not being so full we just wanted a nap. The eggs are incredibly light and fluffy, and while prosciutto isn't my favorite form of ham, theirs is better than most. And I could've eaten an entire loaf of that chewy, rustic bread they use for toast. We also got a little pastry filled with mixed nuts coated in honey, just in case that scrambled egg plate wasn't enough. Good Lord, it was good! Pistachios, hazelnuts, and walnuts at least were in there, and the pastry was perfect! Wonderful coffee and fresh-squeezed orange juice finished the meal. They move a LOT of people through here! But the line moves quickly, and the food comes out right away. If the tables inside are full, check out the patio. I highly recommend! read more

Tatte is iconic in Boston for a reason! We loved this cute little coffee and bakery shop and wanted to come back every day of our trip! We made an effort to check out the Beacon Hill location due to the quaint and cozy neighborhood vibe - we also heard from a local this was Tatte's original location, even though Tattes are around every corner in Boston now. The shop was small, crowded, and bustling with a constant long line around the counter where you place your order. Finding a seat was a bit difficult around lunchtime on a Saturday since it's first come first serve. I'd recommend splitting up and securing a seat while someone waits in line. Large parties will definitely have trouble finding a table at this location as there isn't much space. For food, we ordered the shakshuka and the lamb hash, with the pistachio cranberry crumble as the dessert. Everything was SO DELICIOUS! The shakshuka was flavorful, warm, and satisfying on that cold day. The fresh baked bread was also perfect to sweep up all the tomato goodness. The lamb hash had wonderful Mediterranean flavors and was great for a lighter, refreshing meal. I couldn't say which meal was better - they were both delicious. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. The pastry was also perfect - a little tart and the perfect amount of sweet. I wanted to get more pastries to go! We definitely recommend Tatte as a cute brunch spot if you're from out of town, or even if you live in the city. It's famous for a reason! read more

On a cold windy day after exploring charming Beacon Hill, it's a safe bet to stop by Tatte and get yourself warmed up with their coffee. They make a mean seasonal latte! During winter, it's the hazelnut praline and it's perfect - not too sweet, but just right. It cools down quickly, so it might be wise to ask the barista to make it hot (in case you like to sip on hot coffee like I do). Their house latte (honey halva... So fancy!) is also quite good but too sweet for my taste. And their pastries, oh my! It all looks delicious. Tried their orange-something tart/pie the other day, and it was yummy - coming from someone who doesn't prefer orange flavors in pastries. The kween-ah-mahn (at least that's how you pronounce it!) is a safe bet if you're in a state of uncertainty! FOOD: - Zucchini flatbread +4/5 I needed a quick post-plane snack & tried this and while I'm not a huge fan of zucchini, this flatbread was G-O-O-D. It would've just been a lot better if they had offered to heat up the flatbread instead of serving it cold. - Shakshuka +5/5 My friend who lives in Boston told me that Tatte is known for their shakshuka & I can see why. I really liked this place! We were looking for a quick, light brunch, and Tatte was perfect. They were packed at ~2pm on a Saturday, but we didn't have to wait in line for too long and were able to snag a table for two inside. There are also community tables inside and outside. My husband got the lamb meatball shakshuka ($15) which was outstanding. It came with 4 slices of toasted challah bread, and he actually had trouble finishing it all - very rare for him! I got the breakfast mezze ($11), which was pretty good. It came with a Jerusalem-style bagel, three dips, a little tomato salad, and two eggs any style (I got them poached). My main complaint on the mezze is that there wasn't enough of the bagel to go with all the yummy dips and to mop up the yolks of my perfectly cooked eggs! They serve Stumptown coffee here, which is great. My husband's specialty latte was super tasty, and my cold brew was smooth and flavorful. There were sooo many other things I wanted to try on the menu. Luckily for me, they're planning to open a location in DC later this year! I can't wait. read more

I got the tuna Niçoise and it was delicious! The only reason I docked one star is the space itself is not the best to dine in. It's a bit cramped and the ventilation is not great. I had the Mezze breakfast since I was in the mood for a bagel, and it was absolutely perfect. I love having many condiments, and this fit the bill. The Jerusalem sesame was crunchy and chewy, eggs well scrambled, and there was a onion and tomato salad for balance. Whipped feta and roasted red pepper sunflower seed spread were delicious. For dessert, I got a pistachio cherry tart (more of a bar form), which was absolutely amazing but very dense and filling. My friend had a pistachio croissant and said she really enjoyed that too. We ordered the Jerusalem bagel and blueberry muffin. I was intrigued by the Jerusalem bagel but it is a dense sesame bagel. It's nothing super exciting but it's decent. The blueberry muffin was really good. It's moist and had chopped hazelnuts in it which gave it a nice crunch. The blueberry bits were flavorful and sweet. We ordered the kougin-amann and pistachio cherry tart to go. The kougin-amann is a sweet croissant. It was a little too sweet for me. The pistachio cherry tart had a lot of pistachios which is good but I felt like there wasn't enough cherries in it. The tart was also a little dry. read more
