    espresso martini

It's been a few years since I last reviewed this place and since then I've been back a couple of times for lunch, dinner, an organized party with OTF, and my 30th High school reunion. This review is for my family dinner on a Thurday night in July. It happened to be "Ladies Night" which is 3 types of martinis for $10. I had the espresso martini, which was good. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. I ordered the beet salad with grilled salmon. There was a lot of beets in the salad and the salmon was a good portion: excellent! My 7yr old son had the kid cheeseburger - he said the bread was thick and the burger was so thin. Truth. He needs an adult burger. Food here has always been good so I continue to return.

Upgraded bar food and atmosphere. Staff were very friendly. Prices were reasonable. On this occasion my husband got the lobster roll burger and I got the filet sliders. Food was decent. I enjoyed my filet sliders. It paired well with my Eris Cider. Husband was still hungry after eating here but that is nothing new. This establishment had live music and the crowd was friendly. Plenty of street parking near the restaurant.

My sister and I had planned to head to the Loop for Restaurant Week, but a sleepy and crabby toddler led to a change of plans that brought us to Tavern on the Point. My friend Joneice turned me onto the InKind app, which this place is listed on (as of January 2026) so we decided to give them a try. The food was not bad. I'd been considering a reuben but my curiosity got to me and I ordered the mac and cheese burger. It was pretty good, though I'm not sure it would be my first choice again. I'd order the macaroni and cheese as an individual item, particularly for my child. This time I got for her the buttered noodles which she liked a lot and actually I thought were really good too--I understand it's a pretty plain selection, but it was better than at other places. Their kid's menu was listed on the InKind app, I think, but I didn't see it on their menu I found elsewhere so you may want to take a look; I know they had the noodles and a hamburger on there, and they may also have had chicken tenders and a couple other things.

I came in 30 mins prior to happy hour on a holiday weekend and was immediately seated outside on the second floor patio. It was a beautiful day out so I was thrilled. I ordered the jalapeño poppers and a cucumber Collins. They came out about 30 mins later. From the quality of the food and drink, I feel confident that they made them fresh to order, so with that I'm not upset about the wait time. This was my first time dining here, but I already can't wait to go back!

Hey this place is great! Such a cool space and a huge menu with a ton of delicious options. My friend and I came here for Saturday brunch. Christina was our server and she was fantastic. We enjoyed several fabulous cocktails. I had the Godfather Sandwich with waffle fries: so good, so good! My friend had the short rib grilled cheese, which she said was awesome. The value was amazing for the price. I can't wait to come back!

Tavern on the Point Edison Park's hidden gem and first rooftop outdoor space! Soak up the sun or relax in the shade of the umbrellas on the rooftop at Tavern on the Point. Where the menu has something for everyone and the food will have you planning your next visit as soon as you leave! Ordered: Carrot Cake French Toast - This dish was super fun and delicious. The French toast was cooked perfectly. Topped off with creamy vanilla frosting and sprinkled with crunchy, crispy carrot pieces. This dish is perfect for carrot cake lovers or for any French toast fan! The maple syrup on top was the perfect addition and an obvious necessity in any French toast dish. Monte Cristo - This sandwich was gourmet. It didn't even need jam because it included a side of maple syrup. Would definitely order this sandwich again! Hibiscus Refresher - This drink was fruity, refreshing, and filled with whole blueberries. Plus, I'm a sucker for anything hibiscus! Diet Coke Avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago by visiting Tavern on the Point! From the friendly service to the vibe-filled indoor and outdoor spaces, the @tavernpointchi should be at the top of your list of spots to visit this summer!

Had an opportunity to visit here for a private event and enjoyed my time at the space. In the upstairs area, there is room to fit up to 50 people with restrooms and a patio area adjacent to the bar. I found this to be a good setup with enough space to wander around and the noise level being fairly reasonable for the number of people in the space. I also had a chance to try many different items such as the Caesar Salad, Sliders, Chicken Fingers, Fries, Waffle fries, and more. Overall I found the food to be pretty similar to the more upscale options I've tried with a good level of execution. Items didn't feel too greasy and were seasoned appropriately.

Sat at the bar for the happy hour deals and enjoyed the delicious spinach artichoke dip. Alyssa was a smiley great bartender. She was attentive to all the folks sitting at the bar as well as a couple gentleman sitting in a booth. It's a wonderful airy n sunny bar..I can only imagine how busy it must be when the patio out front or rooftop patio is open! Will be back for the burger deal on Monday. It's a double patty.

What a cute place to spend for brunch. We sat on the rooftop on a beautiful sunny day. It was a little hot but we were shaded so it was nice. I have egg allergies so I had the smoked salmon. It was delicious!!! Great service and such a lovely place.

    Asiago Chicken Milanse
    Michael B.

Stopped in at the Edison Park spot for dinner the other night. Sat at the bar and the bartender greeted me quickly and with a smile. The old fashioned was solid but unfortunately the best part of the night. I ordered the Asiago Chicken Milanese and it was under seasoned and over cooked. The tomato cucumber salad on top was fresh and tasty. I ordered the filet sliders to take home for my wife and again under seasoned. It was a clean inviting interior and would be back but maybe stick to burgers and wings.

It's very peaceful, romantic and a calm atmosphere. All of the food was delicious. The plating is so attractive! The dishes have great flavor but are healthier options. The portion sizes were perfect for what we desired. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the best branzino I've ever had. The skin was crunchy and delicious. But the fish was not dry at all! There's nothing better than a juicy branzino fish and chef Jose nailed it! Matching with the sauce and beans was so much better than any other veggies or starch. The octopus was also cooked to perfection. The flavor and temperature was just right. Not too hot and such a great texture. We don't always order desserts but we had to see every course of the menu. We decided to go with a lava cake and it did not disappoint. It had that perfect contrast of hot and cold but it's served with gelato which gives it a nice touch of texture compared to standard ice cream. Chef Jose came out and introduced himself. We came in because we were enticed by a beef tartare that was on their menu in the past. We're hoping he brings it back on a special sometime soon. He said to give him a call and he'll try to accommodate whenever possible to make his customers happy. What an amazing restaurant. We cannot wait to come back and see what's new. Thank you for an amazing dinner and night!

Although we are from the area, we had never visited before, and the photos immediately caught our attention. The bar fit our vibe perfectly, and after visiting a few times, we knew it was the right place for us. We rented both spaces: the main bar upstairs and Nightshade, the speakeasy downstairs. Moonflower has a small stage in the main bar, which we used for our ceremony. The space already has so much character that it needed very little decorating. We brought small flower vases and an altar piece that the bride and her now mother in law made together. After the ceremony, we held cocktail hour and served food buffet style in the main bar. Later, everyone moved downstairs to Nightshade. Its lounge atmosphere and dance floor were perfect for our 50 to 60 guests. Some people relaxed around the cocktail tables while others danced, so everyone could enjoy the night in their own way. Moonflower's event organizer, Morgan, was wonderful. She made the entire planning process feel easy and was a joy to work with. She helped turn our ideas into reality, assisting with day of logistics, décor, beverage packages, and every question that came up. She was always responsive and available. Morgan also helped us think through details that had not occurred to us, including coffee for our guests, explaining the parking situation, contacting nearby businesses about using their lots, and recommending DJs. We ultimately hired one of the DJs she suggested. Her extra support was incredibly helpful and took a great deal of stress out of planning. If you have not tried Moonflower's drinks, you are missing out. Their regular cocktail menu is fantastic, and our experience was even more special because of a custom cocktail session with Zach. He created signature drink options for each of us based on our tastes and favorite cocktails. Every option was spectacular, and the final drinks felt personal and special. We chose Funeral Potatoes for the food. Since they already handle the food at Moonflower, we were able to try many dishes beforehand. Our guests raved about everything. We especially recommend the brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, and caprese sandwiches. Alexis, who heads up Funeral Potatoes, was also extremely helpful with selecting the menu. The only outside food we brought in was our wedding cake. The entire staff was phenomenal. Everyone treated the occasion with the perfect balance of care, professionalism, and fun. The night went off without a hitch and was truly one of the best nights of our lives. Moonflower was also extremely reasonable compared with other venues we considered in the city, especially with an open bar and food available on site. Street parking was plentiful, and none of our guests had trouble finding a spot. For anyone looking for a relaxed wedding for 50 to 60 people with a memorable lounge atmosphere, fantastic staff, buffet style food, and exceptional cocktails, Moonflower should be at the top of your list.

I believe they have a downstairs lounge called "Nightshade" which serves their own special menu. My goal is to go downstairs next time! Their food is GAS!!! Everything I ate was a 5/5 for me - especially the party fries and the moon burger. We got the deviled eggs and funeral potatoes for the table and I was blown away (both of these menu items rotate flavors monthly). Also FYI - They have a photobooth!!!! I love photobooths!

Needless to say, the flatbread was a hit with the kids as well. Other notable dishes were the beef shwarma and the crispy duck. Ambiance- LOVE it! It can be fancy if you want, it can be more casual if you want. Enjoyed the church vibes mixed with modern touch. Very well decorated. The outdoor area is so cute, esp overlooking the lake. We sat indoors but still a wonderful ambiance. Bonus: they have a changing table in the women's bathroom. Sorry, could not confirm in the men's. Service- this was definitely impressive. You don't always get service especially at some of these well known restaurants bc why would you have to have good service? We had made reservations online and it was initially indoor. They were so awesome about switching it to outdoor with out much trouble even if we were 10 minutes late. But the air quality was so bad so once we were about to get settled we requested for indoor again. There was only smiles and a happy to help attitude and got us settled. I want to highlight our waitress, Ciara (Sierra?). With a party of 9, she was so thoughtful of our orders esp for the kids. I mean, when we ordered lemonade for them she even asked if she wants us to water it down and as parents we were like YES! They do not need that much sugar LOL! She was just overall so warm and communicative. She checked in and made sure we were comfortable. Her smile and pleasant attitude made it easier when we had three little ones wanting to walk around after eating and trying to keep them entertained at a table.
