I've been to Kyma dozens of times. This meal was terrible from the start. Ordered 3 appetizers, one hot one came in 20 minutes the 2 salads never came till we asked again 10 minutes later. Had a red snapper as they were out of most fish. When waiter was bringing out he stopped at managers table for him to "inspect" the fish I guess. During covid I don't need anyone looking, breathing over my fish. When I asked the waiter why he stopped there he shrugged his shoulders. Fish was overcooked by a good 5-10 minutes on grill, and salted past an inch of it's life. Horrible. When they asked after the meal was over we told them and they said sorry can we buy you desert. If I am spending $35.00 on a snapper that costs maybe $8.00 wholesale offering me desert instead is insulting. We were so salted out that we didn't even want desert. read more

Ordered a million times but tonight I ordered chicken platter and gyro platter and got 2 sandwiches for pick up $50. I came in and the manager who is not Greek was a total confrontational jerk. He started a fight with me and said platters are sandwiches. Then he gave me deconstructed sandwiches and when I asked him what happened to rice and leeks he said he doesn't sell that at his location. What the person that was taking my order should have known, a platter is a kebab platter not a sandwich and it does come with rice and leeks but he stood behind the stupid person taking the order and made me feel stupid so he lost a customer. His arrogance with his shirt unbuttoned and no warmth on his face did not show hospitality or respect in anyway. I will not be ordering Greek from this establishment again. Taverna Kyma is one of my favorites. I just turned vegan, but before that the grilled Fish. AMAZING!!! Loved the Kyma salad. Happy Hour the best. Stopped in today for take out. Ordered the grilled vegetables with no peppers they added some mushrooms. I was so happy. Hard to go out when your a vegan. Can I suggest some vegan options on the menu. Would love more options besides salad and veggies. Anything with mushrooms would be great. Grilled Mushrooms stuffed with escarole or rice Sautéed mushrooms and veggies. Potatoes and veggies. Best place to have lunch when work is paying. Portions were HUGE. Prices were a little high but taking into consideration the food portions, the place is 100% worth it. Flavors were authentic. Long story short, looooved it. Will 100% be scheduling our next work meeting there. read more

I had gone there on a Saturday night with about 16 people. only 1 complaint from 1 couple about the restaurant too noisy and the chairs in the place was to close and people kept bumping into their chair. That couple left the restaurant. Besides that one complaint, everyone had a great time. the staff was fun and entertaining. More important everyone including myself loved the food. would definitely recommend this restaurant. I will be going back. Loved the bellydancer. We arrived for lunch , as several reviews stated how busy it gets during the weekends, so we opted out of the craziness . Our Waiter seated us immediately and brought water table side, He was helpful and a tad over bearing . Kinda like rushing for us to order . Gave us a breather and brought over pita and hummus . Good Hummus !!! Great we tried the grilled Octopus. A tad undercooked , yes we know you don't want to overcook and make it rubbery . But at this stage of the game , it should be down to a science . Lemon Chicken Soup , WOW .. Remember as kid you went down to the candy store and bought a box of Lemon sour ball candy .. Well they turned it into soup with shards of chicken and 3 particles of Orzo . My eyes and face are still squinting from the soup . Village salad and Chicken were really unmentionable , Service was good at first , but wavered after entrees were brought out. The food was pretty good but there are a few negatives to this place. First, we had made a reservation 4 dats before we arrived, but when we got there, they didn't have any record of it. We did get seated, but only because we were lucky there was an empty table. They have a menu, food was fresh & portions were large - you won't go home hungry. But it is also very very noisy. We were in a corner table but really couldn't hold a conversation. The tables are too close together & there are no noise suppressors. I had the shrimp Athena & liked it. The pita bread & hummus put on the table at start of the meal was good, but was skimpy for our party of five (we each got 1 small triangular piece of bread). If you ask for more pita, they charge you $3.50! I've never been to a Greek restaurant where they charge you for more pita bread . One person in my party ordered grape leaves & a separate order of a lobster tail (not a cheap meal). She asked the waiter to substitute orzo for the rice pilaf & he told her there's an up charge of $3.50! Another thing that we found annoying was that their parking lot is valet only & they charge you $3.00 to park. They are right on federal highway & there is no street parking so you don't really have a choice. We left feeling like the place is pretty expensive with all the extras. There are better Greek restaurants around for a lot less money. I certainly don't mind paying for good food, but I can't stand being charged extra for every little thing. The owners would be better off taking lessons in customer service. read more

Yummm. The food was delicious. My favorite is the Bronzino. The Hummus with bread, Greek Salad and definitely the octopus are all delicious.

I went excitedly yesterday to Taverna Kyma, sadly disappointed! . ( $3 valet??? I mean really). I was arranging a group of 6-$ people to go after the movies in Boca. I called 3 days in advance to make a reservation, the gentleman on the phone took all my information and was pleasant enough when he said see you on Sunday, but when the first person of the party showed up, they didn't have my name nor my reservation in the book. Luckily there was a table to accommodate us. Next, we were a party of 5. They served us one small bowl of hummus and a basket of bread to feed us with one piece each, the same size hummus that the table next to us had for a party of 2, when I asked if we could have more, the waiter said there would be a charge, we opted for " no thanks" , and reminded each other about the $3 valet ( sheesh). Then we ordered, substitutions, rice for potato or something like that, yep, A-charge of like $2.50 or something ridiculous like that for a substitution. My dish came( gyro platter... yuck), but the rest of the table liked their food... so that's good. I was underwhelmed. I'll stick to my local Boynton Beach Greek restaurant for the time being. I'm glad I have a place to at least express my opinions here. It's only my opinion I realize, but it's mine and it matters! Thank you read more

Food was decent. Service was bad. Wasn't checked on by the server ever, had to call server whenever I needed something. I ordered salmon and it came out dry and well done. They did offer a new one but the server had upsold my grandfather two huge salads to start so I wasn't even hungry at that point. They asked me four times if I wanted another salmon, I said no four times. I don't like when restaurants add gratuity and don't inform the guests. If they inform the guest, all is good. If not, it seems like they are trying to get additional tip. The roasted lamb is good though. read more

A great place to stop in (not call in), place your order and bring dinner home. Fresh Fresh Fresh, is the way I describe their food. The Greek salad is outstanding, added chicken strips on the side, and it last for two meals. their gyros hamburger is very good and the fries fantastic. We ordered lunch for takeout for our Office of 8 people. The food was amazing and the Humus was the best I've ever had...fresh and made on the premises. Everything was ready when I arrived to pick it up and Papa who I assumed was the manager, was most helpful with a warm welcoming demeaner. I waited in my car as he loaded the bags in my car. I can't say enough nice things about both the food and service other than it was wonderful! I will be bringing my family in for lunch or dinner very soon. This restaurant was closed for a short period of time but thankfully, they are back open. The food is super authentic and delicious. They start you off with the most delicious hummus for free. We come here once summer hits and the snowbirds go... The seafood is amazing we usually order the seafood for two (seriously three would still be stuffed) it's starts with orzo and fish in a tangy tomato based sauce delicious !!! Followed by a Giant! Platter of mussels,lobster, calamari, fish, and scallops grilled with lemon mixed in with more orzo. Try the lamb dishes to they are grilled to perfection. Our waiter was attentive and really nice even left us a pitcher of water twice which we finished. We were so lucky the manager hearing we drove up from Broward treated us to a fresh orange cake amazing!! I'm so full I need to lay down. read more

We go to a Greek Restaurant for Greek food! They r out of Pita Bread and Baguette's. How do u eat Gyros, or Saganaki, without Pita. Not a good start. From there it got worse...Then the table was so dirty my arm stuck to the table. My husband needed salt n pepper the holder was so sticky from dirt it has never been cleaned. The Diet Coke was totally flat and tasted like the sewer. Ordered a tea instead and I asked for sugar the container had some unidentifiable food particles stuck to it! I was at this restaurant before it was never this filthy n just think that's what I could see. I shudder to think what is going on in the kitchen. Especially with Covid I can't believe how filthy this place was. Food was good but cold. My lemon rice soup was cold. 2 Bronzinos were delicious. We also had a grouper n a Pistichio that were good. I had my food bagged I couldn't stand the dirt a minute longer. We will not be back! read more

Food is really good but the waiter is an Ahole. Ate outside and when I tried to slide a beer across the table it toppled over due to the fact that the surface of the table is warped. The waiter brings me another beer and says the next one is on the house. It's just amazing to me that he would charge me for a second beer for so many reasons. For starters, the minute you walk in, you're overwhelmed with a horrible smell. Sat outside to escape the smell assaulted by bugs. Might have been something we could have overlooked had the $35 sea bass not have been mealy-textured and taste as bad as the sardines smelled. Taverna kyma is a happening place in the heart of Boca Raton. We got to the restaurant at 7 p.m. and the place was packed. To me that is always a positive thing. After waiting about 15 minutes we were seated. People are all seated very close together and to get through to your seat was not the easiest task. After being a seated our waitress came and was very sweet and accommodating. We ordered a few appetizers and then we ordered large Greek salads with gyro meat on the side. The salad was very good and the gyro meat was very soft and tasty. For the appetizers we got the eggplant dip and spinach pies that along with the hummus, that is given to you when you sit at your table was a nice variety. The service here couldn't be better. Our waitress was very accommodating and always there ready to fill our waters and drinks. We will definitely be coming back and next time we will be trying the fish dish, the branzino, which looked amazing. Definitely a go-to place. read more

My FAVORITE Greek spot in the US! I backpacked abroad for two months, and I never wanted to leave the Greek islands. When I found Taverna Kyma a few months ago, I happily bounced up and down in my chair with a mouthful of octopus. AUTHENTIC. I eat here 2-3 times per month now and the food is amazing every time​. I been to this restaurant about 6 times. I love the food and the staff is friendly. Today I gotta say I left there very annoyed. I ordered a greek salad for $10.00... $6.00 to add gyro. My friend ordered a greek salad and added grilled octopus I assumed $6.00 extra as well. Well when I got the bill it was $48.00! I call the server over and ask her what is this additional $16.00 charge? It was for the grilled octopus!! $16.00 for an add on of octopus. Mind you this isca $10.00 salad and there were full dinners on the menu for that price! So I spent with tip $60.00 for two salads. That is insane...but what bothers me the most is why couldn't the server tell me what it was going to cost when I asked about what I should add octopus or calamari?
