Got takeout, and food was meh. Guacamole lacked flavor and was already browning when we received it! The steak in the steak fajitas was chewy. One of the meals we asked for no cheese or cream, and it looked like they started sprinkling cheese on top of the refried beans then stopped. This is a good version of Taco Burrito King. The menu is more limited than your typical TBK, but sometimes it is better to cook things you do well. Food is made to order as well. The staff was friendly and checked in to make sure my picky husband's order was to his liking. Unlike other TBK locations, this one is clean and well kept. (I'm looking at you Niles, IL location.) The location can be tough to get in and out of due to its location, but it is doable if you come from the right angle. The only reason why I deducted a star is that they forgot my husband's Jarrito in our to go order. read more

Food is fantastic and service is friendly. My issue is not with TBK but the delivery service. I had a taste for a burrito the other day. I was not in a position where I could leave my house so I opted for delivery. I filled out my order and it came to about $18. I went to checkout and was floored by the $7 delivery fee plus a suggested tip of $5. I cancelled the order. No issue with the tip. Delivery charge is a little heavy. Can't see spending 2/3 of the total price of the order to get the food to me. I will continue to enjoy TBK but only when I can pick it up. read more

Not sure how a Mexican restaurant cannot be ready for Cinco De Mayo, but TBK Grill was not ready. I submitted an order at 6pm for pickup. The app I used said the order was ready at 6:17pm. I arrived at 6:25pm and TBK had not printed the ticket to begin preparing the food. I then waited, standing in a crowded restaurant, until 8pm before I finally received my order. We've been ordering our food from this location since it has opened but things have changed since its been there when we eat in we've always gotten chips & salsa before our order came now they don't give you that anymore & say they never did that . Today we ordered takeout we ordered 8 tacos & order of waucamoli $41. Dollars & didn't get chips for wauc asked why the gentleman said it comes out to same price if we order chips & wauc together if we order just wauc . So I asked what's difference in price for wauc & chips ? He said same as ordering wauc only but couldn't tell me the price also noticed that now they only give you 1 taco shell for every taco they use to give you 2 shells per taco I told the guy that talked to me he said he didn't member that far back . I told him if you go to any mexican restaurant on clark street things haven't changed I go tobthis place cause it's convenient maybe I'll have to go out of my way for better service & food !!!!! read more

We decided to try TBK Grill as we had driven past the location for several years waiting to see what it would re-open as. We were not expecting a Mexican Restaurant,so we were pleased to see it there. When we pulled in the parking lot, we saw a Taco Burrito King truck getting ready to pull out. I thought it odd till I realized TBK stood for Taco Burrito King. We are not fans of the Taco Burrito King chain, but we decided to give this place a try. You order at the counter and the they bring the food to your table. I had the enchilada dinner and Christopher had the steak taco dinner. Both were satisfying and fairly tasty, except for the beans. They were typical beans that you get in a million other taco joints. If you are looking for Mexican atmosphere, this is not the place to come. It is very stark. Looking at it you do not get a warm, welcoming feeling, but the food is decent enough, so if we were in the area, we'd give it another try. read more

Second day of business, and a good number of people trying it out. Limited menu right now, but everything is available a la carts or as a plate (with rice and beans). Food was quite tasty. I had a torta and my wife went with the burrito. Everything was prepared fresh and size was ample. Two salsas were available and we both agreed the green was better. Bonus was that the coke was from Mexico, made with real cane sugar! Will definitely return. read more

Not sure when charging almost $10 (when you add tax) for 2 small flautas with a small helping of beans and rice became a thing in barely average walk in Mexican restaurants, but TBK is carrying that torch. It seems that seasoning is not a part of their regular cooking process but the staff are all very nice and the place is kept clean. Unfortunately that doesn't feed the belly. Welp this location was empty for the longest time but today we were able to try the fish tacos, Asada tacos and sope. It was delicious and if you are in the area you should try it.
