I have tried it more than 3 times and I can officially say, it's not bad! I'm growing more and more fond of this boba shop. The dragon fruit cheese is okay. I thought it was pretty funny when I asked them what did they think about this drink, someone said, "it's pretty good and it's also our most expensive drink on the menu." I can tell why you need to add the cheese foam -- it tastes better. Even the agar boba turns purple! Their mochi topping is only available in classic milk tea. I must say, I'm not really a fan. One of my favorite tea places. Usually order from their Pac Heights location, but I have also frequent here when nearby shopping and or via delivery. Really like their teas and the fruit tea. Very refreshing any day and especially on a hot day. Service is fast and efficient and located at this neighborhood mall. read more

While I enjoy the premise of Tea Hut having "everything" be "natural", as in, using whole fruits, whole milk, and apparently no additives or preservatives, the drinks I've had mostly have been a pricey lackluster experience. I visited multiple times because I didn't enjoy my drinks as much as I thought I would, and hoped that each subsequent visit would be different; I thought that maybe I ordered the wrong flavor for myself or something. Each time turned out to give the same average experience. As well, I tried ordering a couple of different flavors late noon or early evening, and they kept saying they were sold out of this or that... I'd be like, well then, what is NOT sold out?! Pretty frustrating when I want to order three different things and they all somehow are sold out (one of them was even a non-fruit milk tea, how are they running out of tea hours before closing?!). When I made a fourth choice but changed my mind a second later, they looked pissed off because I found it hard to make up my mind after being denied the first three drinks I wanted. Don't have your heart set on a flavor, as their menu changes frequently I assume based on seasonal fruits. Black Milk Tea - My boyfriend enjoyed this with whole milk and 100% sweetness, and I thought it was okay, so it's a decent option. I think the milk and tea ratio is done well. It tastes mostly milky and malty, almost like chocolate milk. Sable Grape - Literally tastes like grocery store juice (Langers apple grape). Yeah I know it's not actually that, as I taste the bits of grape pulp, but it is what it is. They need stronger tea to pair with this, as I got almost no tea flavor, and only knew there was tea from the slight astringency. Pinky Lychee - A sweet lychee slush that's colored pink from dragonfruit. I couldn't taste the tea in this whatsoever; I think the lychee puree was enough sweet by itself, so I think adding extra sweetness to this wasn't good and just masked everything else. The cheese cream doesn't synergize that well with the lychee, and you have a choice of crystal boba or aloe vera. Probably my fault for not adjusting the sweetness, but they do say that their 100% sweet is another's 50% sweet... No, not at all. The cheese cream had its own salty sweetness, as well as the sweetness from aloe vera. Ended up tasting just like lychee slushy with extra cane sugar water. Kiwi Green Tea - Love the golden kiwi! My favorite tea of theirs, though golden kiwis are one of my favorite fruits. Tea flavor could have been stronger, but it still passes due to the yummy fresh golden kiwi flesh. If you want something that tastes like a hybrid between milk tea and Jamba Juice, this is kind of it. Personally, I'm a seeker of strong tea flavors so this is simply not my cup of tea, compounded with the various frustrating ordering experiences. Their honey boba is generally on point with a good chew and subtle sweetness, though. In this same area, there's actually a couple other places that do fresh fruit teas better and for cheaper, so I can't say I'm enticed to visit again. read more

This Tea Hut is in the Lakeshore Plaza. Out of their three locations, this one is the most convenient since it is not in the city and/or downtown area, and there is a parking lot as well (it can get a bit busy at times in this plaza, but there is plenty of parking). This location is not as consistent their original store in SF. The staff is also not that helpful or informative if you have questions about their drinks and/or ingredients. I had been here several times, and I usually get the jasmine milk tea with boba. I usually get either 50% or 75% sweetness, I wish there was an option to control the ice level as well because my drink is usually not cold when I get it. Like I said before, drinks are not as consistent at this location, so sometimes my drinks taste better than other times. read more

WOW! First time here. Fast service after you enter your order in the kiosk. Ordered the Taro Milk Tea 2.0 with regular boba + lychee jelly. This was definitely a YUMMY little reward to myself for finally dropping off my renewal for my expired passport, next door at USPS (I've been sitting on this To Do item since March). The "recommended" sweetness was just right to me. I especially love the taro pudding! Taro milk tea 2.0 - it's the perfect drink of purple yam and taro. Loved the starchy thick texture (some proof it's made with real stuff instead of powder). Too bad it only comes in a small size. One of my other drinks was actually missing lychee jelly. The boba here is quite exceptional especially when it's hot. I usually order a classic black tea no milk with salted cream 25% sweet and it tastes heavenly. The Oolong tea no milk needs to be 50% sweet and with the cream tastes amazing. Their teas are great quality. I just tried the Creme brûlée milk tea 50% sweet and I recommend 75% sweet. Ordered 4 seasons milk tea w/boba, jasmine milk tea w/boba and I noticed the strawberry coconut pudding, so I ordered that too.The drinks & boba were good, nice and chewy with flavor. The coconut pudding with real strawberries were not what I expected. I anticipated the coconut pudding to wow me for the price of $8.50. Perhaps some boba or strawberry purée with cream or honey would have made this more worth the price. Instead, it was agar jello with a few pieces of strawberries, a bit of a let down. I've been to this location several times now and have never been disappointed with the quality of their drinks. Even if we get it delivered through Doordash, it's been really good and packaged well. It's my go-to in the city if I want a refreshing fruit tea instead of normal milk tea. Their papaya seasons tea, which is seasonal and only at this location, is my favorite at the moment. They do tend to get busy and run a bit behind on weekdays after the schools in the area get out, but the staff is really hardworking and trying their best. For the cheesy pink lychee drink, I wish there was more of a lychee flavor. I'm not sure what fruit or flavor the pink was supposed to represent but it didn't taste like much. They have kiosk for ordering like most boba spots now and I believe you can preorder online as well. Finally tried the infamous Mochi Soy Milk Tea that's all over IG. The mochi texture is excellent and they keep it in a separate plastic bag until you're ready for consumption, which is thoughtful. Milk tea was ok. Before they opened this location, I loved going to their California St location even though it was a bit far from my area. I've definitely been stopping by this new location a lot more because parking is so much easier, and their mobile order pick-up system makes it easy for me to order my drink and pick it up as I'm arriving to the store. I've gotten multiple drinks from this new location just to see how consistent it is compared to their original location and I found them to taste the same, which is always good because I dislike it when boba shops branch out to other locations, but the quality changes. My favorite that is always on their menu is their Black Milk Tea. Their Black Milk Tea is different from other stores because it has a more malty taste to it, which is unique to me. Other than the classics, I always enjoy seeing what their seasonal drinks are. My current favorite seasonals are: Peachy Berry: Blended peach & strawberry with aiyu jelly. Their aiyu jelly is less dense than grass jelly, and pairs well with the blended fruit drinks. Kiwi Green Tea: They use real golden kiwis for this drink & it is hands down my absolute favorite fruit drink! The drink itself is a bit sweeter because the kiwi fruit itself is sweet, so if you like your drink a little less sweet, get less sweet for this one. If you're looking for a boba shop in the area with easy parking, Tea Hut is a good place to try out! read more

This is where I go for my almost-daily milk tea fix. I'm a 2-3 year customer and my favorite is jasmine tea with oat milk at 75% sweetness with lots of ice (and sometimes boba). I love that there has been very little staff turnover, so the same staff has been there for a long time. They are always friendly and welcoming, and they play a great variety of music, so the vibe is upbeat. Hard for me to make this review since this is actually one of my go-to boba spots in San Francisco. My boyfriend and I's regular orders are the Seasons Fruit Tea and the Oreo Milk Tea, both are super delicious and we always look forward to getting the drinks whenever we're in town. Although a few days ago when I was getting to the last of my drink, I felt something at the back of my tongue, and eventually had to cough it out (I don't usually order toppings so I don't stop and chew anything). When I looked, I realized it was a small piece of plastic that seemed torn from something. Glad I came to Lakeshore Plaza again after several months or at least a year. Lucky, Big 5, The Hawaiian BBQ, you name it! I had never seen many business changes since I venture here alone recently. So when I came all the way here with my brother, there is one store or café that had made a change, Tea Hut. Nothing special about this new café, and there's nothing impressive about it's decor. Just another same great smell of hand picked tea leaves followed by milk selections, toppings, and real fruit flavors. Customer service was business as usual and normal. But what's additional mandatory was that both staff and customers must wear face masks and 6 ft of distance between each of us. We'd be seeing longer lines if we don't call them ahead of time. Smiles for making it throughout the day! While my brother got Oolong Cheese Tea with boba, I got Watermelon Fruit Green Tea with aloa vera (pictured below). I should've said "no ice"; not a single problem as long as my fruit tea was just right. The green tea aftertaste wasn't as intense as I didn't expect. After seeing what's on the menu outside, there's no Uji Matcha. Not all bubble tea shops have one very popular tea flavor. And what's with golden tea? That needs to be more specific on the menu. I've been here a few times and I normally get drinks but they have soft service too. I normally get the sable grape or emerald grape drink. Both taste very refreshing but still a little sweet, even with 50% sweetness. The reason why I'm giving them 3 stars is that when i asked for a spoon, they put the spoon on the table.
