Another 98 degrees in sunny Austin, TX!!! Yesterday was the perfect day for a cold, refreshing drink. My work took me close to Lakeline Mall, so I decided to pop into Teapioca for a cold drink. Teapioca Lounge is very clean with colorful signage and a big teddy bear sculpture. After entering the lounge my next big decision point was what to buy. There were so many choices: smoothies, cream teas, fruit blends, and milky flurry. Initially, I thought of buying a large glass of tea with lots of ice. Then, I thought a smoothie sounds good also. In addition, they had boa boa tea, which I had not had since living in Washington state. Wow...I thought I would pop in, purchase and pop out. For a few minutes, I was decision-paralyzed and then snapped out of it. Drum roll...final decision: Mango smoothie. It was cold, creamy and soothing going down like a child going down a water slide. I was super pleased with my selection. Please note there are many toppings to choose from. After my mind jarring decision to go with a mango smoothie, I chose not to add any additional toppings.

A great boba tea shop!! Service is good and staff are quite friendly and helpful. The location is also very convenient for us since we go grocery shopping at H-Mart almost every week (...maybe too convenient). We really love their milk tea which is dangerously delicious! The milk tea itself has the perfect balance between the strength of the tea and creaminess. Lots of places go too weak or too strong on either and that is a failing grade from us. Teapioca Lounge also knows how to make bobas (aka pearls). These guys have what pearls at every bubble tea places should strive for, as they have the right amount of sweetness, and chew to them! Add an extra A+ for the fact that I can customize the sweetness level of my drink without someone looking at me like a crazy person for asking! You can't stop me to keep going back there, like literally, my husband and I both tried and failed miserably...ended up getting it two days in a row

Pretty decent boba tea spot. They had so many flavors and so many other things to try that I couldn't decide on what I wanted to do. So I went with my usual black milk tea with extra sweet because I need my tea to be sweet. And I added the black boba.

So happy to have a Teapioca Lounge in my neighborhood. It's my favorite place to grab a yummy drink. There are a ton of toppings from which to choose! The boba is always nice and soft and the service is great. The milk teas are great but lately I've been obsessed with the slushies. The watermelon is my favorite. My Man Crush and I tried the mango and strawberry slushies and they rocked too. Cheers to Teapioca Lounge!

Always a good experience here I'm so glad they have expanded to so many locations and areas so I can get my boba tea fix wherever I go. I like this location it's very easy to find parking compared to a few of their other locations. The ordering process is always so easy. The strawberry banana smoothie is one of my go to drinks! So so many selections so there is something for everyone here for sure. The taro coconut smoothie is also really good. I love the smoothies best consistency!

Drinks and snowyn are delicious consistently. My favorites are durian smoothie, mangonada, and lychee smoothie. Snowyn is great in durian flavor. It's like you're literally eating snow. Condensed milk drizzle is included as a free add on. Staff is nice and polite. The shop is clean and spacious with a high table, high chairs, small tables and benches and a couch in the middle. Check in on Yelp for 10% discount on drinks only, not including Snowyn. Some other locations include a discount on snowyn but not this location. However, there's a catch in Yelp 10% discount. If you order a tea with added flavor, the discount doesn't apply to the flavors, only the drink itself. Be sure to check the discount amount on the POS screen and do a little math in your head to make sure it reflects the 10% discount. The staff today got confused on the Yelp check in discount and applied only $0.49 on an order of $17.35, not sure how, but it got corrected after multiple people were called over. Overall, highly recommended. Download their app and start earning points from purchases for discounts.

One of the best things about Teapioca is they're always consistent with quality and have a large variety of choices. You can't go wrong with their boba, lychee jelly and basil seed toppings which are my go to. This past trip we tried their watermelonade and their hibiscus lemonade with boba. The watermelonade was fresh and wasn't overly sweet. The hibiscus was tart but refreshing especially during this heat. Previously I've had their mango snowyn and cream teas. My favorite would probably be the "Art of tea" section where you can customize it and I usually get the white tea with rose flavor. Honestly can't go wrong with anything...maybe the boba madness but even then it was still interestingly good

I was craving for some mangonada yesterday evening and came across teapioca, it's nearby to my place, so stopped by, place looked clean, cozy, simple decor. There were just 4-5 people, who were already had there orders served, so was able to order as soon we entered. I asked them to add Chamoy while blending so they did, only complaint is, it should have been blended couple of more minutes because ice cubes were crumbled and each time I take a sip, I had to chew ice cubes which personally I don't like. I like sip it and swallow it like frappe. Next time I will ask them to blend it thoroughly, customer service is good I guess, we grabbed our drink and stayed just for few mins and left so can't say much about service. But they have so many options and I have to try there ice cream coffee next time. FYi fresh mangoes on mangonada are add on, so it's extra charge.

Stopped by this teas spot while in Austin. There was a line out there door sooo that was a good sign. They had a large selection of teas to choose from. I wanted one of their red panda brown sugar series however they were sold out. I decided to go with their honey dew cream tea with mango jelly and their butterfly lemonade. Both were very refreshing. I also tried two of their macaroons. The white chocolate and the cream brûlée. The white chocolate was my favorite of the two.

Stopped by after getting a haircut at h mart bc I was craving some boba. They have soy milk substitutes for y'all vegans out there! I got the taro smoothie with soy milk and boba, and the total was about $6. The tapioca pearls were really good, but unfortunately the taro smoothie itself was a little underwhelming. I couldn't taste taro at all, it kind of just tasted like a soy milk blended smoothie. The top half was just ice. Probably wouldn't come here again.

The Austin English Tea Company brings all of the aesthetics, ambiance, and flavors you'd expect in a proper British tea room. Spent a lovely Sunday Funday morning with friends celebrating Galentine's Day (albeit a day later) with fresh and yummy tea sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, mini, quiche, cream puffs, macarons, Prosecco, and more. We had four pots of tea: Classic English Breakfast, Earl Gray, Peach White, and Coconut Oolong. It goes without saying that the English Brekkie and Earl Gray were perfectly brewed and delicious. The Peach White and Coconut Oolong were also perfectly brewed. The Peach White was fragrant and flavorful. Same for the Coconut Oolong though it was more fragrant with a less robust flavor. Still delicious. The tea sandwiches were served on perfectly fresh and soft white bread. Cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches are always my favorite, without question. The Strawberry Devonshire Scone was to die for! I really enjoyed the heart-shaped Rosemary biscuit that had a hint of parmesean flavor as well. The apricot Stilton cheese was flavorful and exactly how you want a Stilton to taste. Service was outstanding. The decor was brilliant, absolute perfection. The entire experience was reminiscent of tea rooms I've visited in England and Ireland. Looking forward to another visit soon! Note: the tea room is located inside Michelle's Patisserie in a shopping plaza---once you enter the tea room you're totally transported to another time and place of elegance, tea, & sweets.

My daughter ordered this very unique blue drink (caffeine free) I have never heard or seen before called Galaxy Milk Tea made with Butterfly Pea Flower Tea, Oat Milk and Vanilla syrup. It wasn't overly sweet once you mixed it together making it a tasty treat for the little ones. I ordered the strongest coffee they had called: Iced Molotoviatt that came with 4 shots of espresso infused with lightly sweetened condensed milk. I opted for no whipped cream. They had a delicious selection of pastries and goodies, which we did not order but looked decadent. The decor and artwork was also super cute and on point! We will definitely be returning.

Given the fact that Starbucks espresso is godawful ... That is an impressive accomplishment. * * * The interior decorating is far worse. To understand what is wrong with Black Rock's room design, You have to think a little bit about what interior decorating does for a retail restaurant chain. * * * Restaurants can either be energizing or calming. You want energizing if you are either selling fun or you need you need high turnover so you can sell high volume. A little kid pizza palace needs to be fun, so all the kids beg their parents to take them to your establishment. Fast food needs to be high turnover. You are selling burgers or whatever at very low margins. So you need those customers in the door then out the door so new ones can come in and buy more stuff. * * * The classic success story in energizing interior decorating is McDonald's. Never mind the arch part - although to be fair that was a touch of trademark defining genius. The bright lights, and the white red and yellow are tremendously energizing. You come in - you get peppy - you eat fast - you get out fast. * * * Starbucks is one of the great classics in calming interior decorating. Starbucks wants you to come in with your computer, or come in with a friend with whom you want to have a soulful conversation. In both cases, you will be staying there a long time. There is a little bit of a build the tab logic. If you stay there long enough, you will order a second drink or another snack. But mostly that tranquility is what made you come to Starbucks in the first place. You would not have had that writing session or that soulful conversation in a McDonalds. * * * How does Starbucks accomplish this visually? Their color scheme is one of the great accomplishments of corporate interior decorating. Natural woods. Light grays. Dark green accents. You slow down immediately on entering. * * * The Black Rock Interior Decorators missed the larger economic logic of what they are trying to accomplish. They decorated in energetic and perky ... With bright colors and and even brighter fluorescent lights. There is nothing visually mellow about Black Rock. The bright perky colors do what bright perky colors do. They make the customer feel energetic. So feeling energetic, I got up and left. * * * To be fair, having just drunk an awful espresso helped with the got up and left part. The caffeine made me energetic. The hating my coffee made me want to get out of there. That said, there was more to this than just the coffee. Starbucks espresso has just as much caffeine as does a Black Rock espresso. The room is what keeps you sitting in your chair. * * * I suspect their sweet and elaborate drinks are just fine. I did not have one so I do not know. But I go to coffee houses to get work done. The fact that I can get a Mocha Raspberry Figatooti for a beverage is a side point. There are lots of places that will sell me a Mocha Raspberry Figatooti. I go shopping for a room that will remove distractions and maximize my clarity of thought.
