We found this place while driving around Cranbury because, to our eyes, this town really looked like old and quiet American suburb. Ever since we have tried this place several times trying different dish. They serve American diner food with reasonable price. For brunch, which we went for all our visits, they serve good omelets and other stuff. The reason I add another half star (to 4 in total) is that I liked the ambience of the place. Eggs Benedict w Lox = $17.95. Eggs WAYYYYY over cooked, not runny at all. Lox way salty; not that fresh. Hollandaise from a package. Watery coffee. Prompt service. Expected for a diner. While the special I had was definitely not worth the price, other items on the menu seemed reasonably priced, but I didn't' sample those items. The decor is clean, quaint, almost country chic. Went here today after hearing all about it from a few friends who ranted and raved about it. Personally I was not impressed. I got a burger and it was lackluster at best. First off it was over done and had no flavor which it's so hard to mess up a burger. Second the bun was over toasted so much so that it just tasted blah. Besides all that the thing that got me really mad was how under cooked the French fries were. They were so bad I didn't even eat them. My girlfriend also came with me and ordered a basic Ham and cheese omelet with a side of rye toast and home fries how hard could that be right? Well they messed it up. Her Olmert came out with spinach in it and some other meat. The waiter was extremely nice and went and fixed that but still completely messed up. The home fries were so cold and when we asked the waiter he explained that was the third person today that had happened to. Finally after all that she started eating and just as she was halfway through she was given burnt rye toast that looked like it had fallen behind the toaster and was forgotten about. Maybe we hit them on a bad day but it wasn't a pleasant experience. The only saving grace was the very nice bus boy and the waiter. Both of those gentleman were doing their very best and truly is the only reason I'm not giving this place 1 star. read more

Old fashioned type dinner that will certainly bring you back in time including the fact they use an old fashioned register. Friendly staff that is attentive with quick friendly service. The coffee is good (not great) and the food was pretty good too. My only criticism would be is I had the bagel and cream cheese with lox and they serve the lox on the bagel with the cream cheese on the side. If they aren't going to put the cream cheese on the bagel the lox should be on the side too. If I lived in the area I would certainly become a regular. read more

This is the third or fourth time I have ordered via Door Dash from this restaurant. I had a problem in the past with one order and the restaurant owner contacted me and made it right. The issue was a missing item ordered, charged for but not delivered. Door Dash also provided some assistance. Today I placed a large order that included two large tossed salads and four sandwiches. I received the sandwiches but only one of the salads and it was the size of a side salad. I was charged $7.95 for each salad including the one I did not receive. I don't know who is responsible for the order being one salad short Door Dash or the restaurant but the latter is directly responsible for the size of the salad. read more

Best Corned Beef Hash. Period. Let me start by saying that I've been going to this place ever since I can remember, and one of the things that's so great about it is that it's gotten better with time. This is especially rare when a business like this is handed down to future generations. The owner, George, who recently took over after the passing of his father, Teddy, the namesake of this long-standing establishment has done a fantastic job of making everything better that needed improvement, while not screwing with the stuff that's already as good as it gets. One key example is the corned beef hash, which is easily the best in the area, and I should know. I'm the type that asks the server whether it's homemade or not, every time I see corned beef hash on the menu. If it is, I order it no matter what time of day it is or what else I might be ordering. This is a stand out. Teddy's version is mostly corned beef, shredded, with just enough potatoes, seasoned beautifully and served in healthy portions. I usually get a double order with a couple of poached eggs on top. Then I begin looking around for a pillow and a blanket. It's one of my all-time favorites. I'm also a big fan of their omelets, and during lunchtime, their soups. I hear they're doing some fun stuff at night with live music and dinner specials, but I haven't made it over there yet to check it out. If what I've had before compares to the rest of what else they're offering, it probably won't disappoint. True, most of the menu looks like a rather typical local diner with a few points of distinction, but this place is special and has earned a place in my heart - the old-fashioned way - through my stomach. If you saunter in you'll usually find George near the front door, smiling away, talking with patrons and staff. It's a refreshing little spot in a sleepy, but beautiful town. And what's best, is that after a hearty meal, you can walk it off with a leisurely stroll down Main Street in lovely, historic Cranbury. Enjoy! read more

We go to Teddy's at least once a week. The food is typical American diner fare, but it's really good diner fare. The burgers are pure angus and cooked to order -- delicious. Every day there are specials that are mouth-watering. Sometimes service is a little slow, but only if it's really busy. You can hang out and drink coffee all day or just stop in for a quick bite. The prices are good and the place is kid friendly. There is outdoor dining in the warm months -- some locals even bring their dogs and eat outside when the weather permits. This little diner, not far from Princeton, is truly worth a visit. Found this on Yelp after checking into a hotel not far from Cranbury. We were looking for a non fast food place that was reasonably priced and decided to give it a chance. The place was not too busy and we sat down with usual expectations. I ordered the ham and Swiss triple decker and was told I had a choice of soup, I decided on the Manhattan clam chowder. My wife ordered the Greek chicken panini that also came with soup. Our friendly waitress told us that all the soups were made on the premises. My wife didn't want soup so I decided to have her order the New England clam chowder, since I was torn between both. Great way to compare. The soup was awesome. If you know good chowder, then I don't have to describe. Nice pieces of clams and vegetables in a great red broth. Rich and creamy white. I finished both. The sandwich was great. She wasn't kidding when she said they roast and slice their own meats. Great tasting sandwich, so big I had to eat it in sections. Sandwiches came with a nicely done Cole slaw and fries. They know how to do Cole slaw. I was almost stuffed, but saved room for some home made rice pudding. Very delicious and very fresh. Prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. I will be going back when I am in the area again. Main Street, where the diner is located, is very quaint. Its like Cheers without the bar LOL. Their prices range from $6+ for lunch, and can take a while since it is made to order. Their breakfast is good, and they use real turkey not the deli stuff in their turkey sandwiches. All the local old timers come in to have a good chat, and you never have to wait. Good soup. Homestyle menu and taste (pot roast, mac n cheese, tons of sandwiches, crispy fries, etc.) Love it! Oh, and they DO take credit cards- just has to be over $10. read more

The food at Teddy's is lovely. The French toast was caramelized perfectly, with a custard-like inside. The Virginia ham was flavorful and moist. The coffee was perfectly adequate. The only downside to Teddy's was that the service was exceptionally slow and the waitstaff didn't come back after delivering the food until after we had finished. All in all, I'd go back. read more

I ordered the Tuna Salad club sandwich without realizing that it had egg salad on it-- when I said I didn't like it I got a new one made, without any awkwardness. Our local go-to for breakfast; we love Teddy's. It's Cranbury's keystone family restaurant that serves up very tasty diner fare at reasonable prices. I like to take my son on a weekend for father/son time to belly up to the old-fashioned counter for a cup of bottomless coffee and conversation. We've lived in Cranbury for just over a year and finally made our first visit to Teddy's a short while ago. It was like stepping back in time into a diner of yester-year. I thought the old decorations, newspaper articles on the wall, and memorabilia was so quaint and charming. The service was super friendly, and when our server found out it was our first visit here she made lots of recommendations and went above and beyond to make our visit perfect. The food was homey, delicious, and tasty comfort food - just perfect for a relaxing weekend breakfast. On the way out we had a pleasure of talking to George, Teddy's son and the owner of the restaurant now. Went for dinner with my best bud tonight. I specifically went tonight (friday) because of the live music and BYOB. Let me tell you, the food was great. Both myself and my friend agreed the food was delicious. I ordered the shrimp franchise with a side of New England clam chowder. The main course was full of flavor, pasta and shrimp cooked perfectly. The chowder....amazing. I have had some of the claimed "best chowder" on the east coast according to guy fierie on the food networks diners, drive ins and dives...the chowder at Teddy's is top notch. Enough said. The wedding singer they had tonight was good for a wedding singer...set a nice mood and not too over the top. You could hold a conversation without yelling...so overall Teddy's is a hidden gem and I suggest you don't pass it up. I am confused by good yelp ratings since yelp usually doesn't fail me. My french toasts had some yellow stuff on the top (certainly didn't taste like eggs) and the middle was just white. Yes, I've had similar french toasts at other extremely cheap diners. So I didn't complain first. When the waitress wanted to pack my leftover I said I didn't want it because I didn't like it. This is such a cute place, with that old small town feel. The food is reasonably priced just as it is tasty. I could order their Crazen Chicken Salad everyday! MUST TRY.
