Great service at this location. There was an older lady working the patio area. She was very attentive, genuine, and loving. She made sure we had the tender green app to receive a free mimosa and other perks. She made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our brunch. She definitely gave this tender greens a different vibe. We tried the chicken and waffles, and the chilaquiles. I must say I LOVE the chicken and waffles! It's a big portion (perfect portion in my opinion). I was full most of the day although I have a fast metabolism..hehe. The chilaquiles were also delicious but they were a bit spicy for me. I love Tender Greens but DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY, at least at this location! My food is always delivered 15-20 minutes later than I scheduled. Lunch is time sensitive and if other delivery companies can bring my food on time, so should UberEats. Since there is no customer support for UberEats, this will be the last order I have with this Tender Greens. I tried to contact Tender Greens but they placed blame on UberEats when my order was picked up 5-10 minutes later than my scheduled delivery time from their store. Just moved to the area from the central coast and I have to say that this place is fantastic! From the yummy food, to the fast and friendly service I couldn't have asked for a better meal to hit the spot. I got the chef special pacific bowl and have been trying to cut out my red meat consumption since the new year and it was amazing! The salad was light and fresh and the tuna paired perfectly with the miso sauce and rice. I even asked for soy sauce and they were so accommodating. I really wanted to like this place.. the customer service is great but the food is not worth it. My gf ordered a with greens and veggies, I got the grilled chicken cobb salad and split a fried chicken sandwich. We also got the agua fresca and mint lemonade. The one delivering the food delivered gave us someone else's meal and then once they gave us the correct food, it was in to go boxes... we told the one taking our order twice we were dining in-- Not a big deal. The food: the chicken was dryer the Sahara Desert in my grilled cobb salad. Probably the most dry chicken I've ever had. My jaw was hurting from chewing so much. It was like chewing on some really stale ass beef jerky. The bread that comes with the meals were stale as well. I looked over to my gf she doesn't seemed too pleased either. We both had the same look and was like meh. The fried chicken sandwich was okay.... a tad better than my salad. The only good thing about this place are the drinks. For what I paid for, it wasn't worth it. I usually don't care for the price of food, but the way the food tasted made me look at the receipt and say, "WTH?! I paid $50 for dry ass chicken, wilted greens and stale bread?!" I wish I could like you Tender Greens, but I don't think I'll give you another chance. On my first visit I had the barbecue chicken salad. It was really good and recommended by the hostess. I do like my lettuce cut up a little more but they provide utensils for that. On my second visit I had the steak sandwich and spinach salad which I absolutely loved. The steak was tender and well seasoned and I really enjoyed the vinaigrette dressing. I hate leaving bad feedback but it has to be done... Ordered a late lunch at 2:15 and took 18 minutes until I finally went up to counter to collect my food that was sitting there. During the time I was waiting I saw several employees getting food for themselves and they were piled high plates! However, I was handed what looked like a half portion with very little food and brown avocado. The good news is the Urban Plate is opening nearby soon!!! Amid this whole pandemic we were able to find a smiling face and a clean environment. Sylvia Osorio was beyond what you call customer service. Very helpful and kept all tables clean. She held the door open and kept cleaning the tables once the customers left. I'm giving this place 5 stars because of HER... Other than that the parking is a nuisance, food is subpar, and is poorly ran by the current management. Eating outside on the patio and them having Sylvia is why I'm not so angry spending 40 bucks here. Other than skip this place! Sylvia rocks! I've been here a few times and the service is good and employees are attentive. The salads are hit or miss sometimes the lettuce is not quite chopped small enough to just eat, a knife is needed. The backyard steak salad is very good and so is the fried chicken, although the fried chicken on occasion has been very fatty. I like the ambiance and the space along with the patio seating area I have had to ask for the tables to be cleaned a few times. The chocolate chip cookies are the best (although I shouldn't be eating them), I think they may be the reason I keep coming back. I wish they took cash but we do live in a digital world, guess I'm just old school like that. Parking is tough during lunchtime but it's El Segundo so that's to be expected. This review pertains mainly to the staff's lack of knowledge as to the food they're serving. I ordered Chicken and Rice soup today (to go) and noticed immediately the receipt reflected Chicken Tortilla Soup - not Chicken and Rice. Now, I know they had Chicken and Rice available today because I heard others mention in line that's what they were ordering, plus I saw it written on their board. So I asked the cashier why the receipt showed Chicken Tortilla soup instead of the Chicken and Rice soup I had just ordered, showing her my receipt. (Incidentally, they ask if you'd like your receipt when you're charged. Given this is a cashless restaurant, who wouldn't want their receipt for a credit card restaurant charge?) She assured me I would indeed be receiving Chicken and Rice Soup, irregardless of what the receipt showed. As I hadn't see Chicken Tortilla soup on the board as an option, I wrote this off to some sort of a cash register mishaps. She then went to the kitchen area and then told me to wait for my order. When it finally came out (after 20 minutes - the group of people who ordered just ahead of me, but were eating in, were already knee deep into their meals by the time my order finally came out) I asked if the soup was Chicken and Rice as I had ordered and showed the person my receipt which incorrectly reflected Chicken Tortilla soup and was assured, yet again, I was receiving Chicken and Rice. Well, I got home and, guess what? I just bought a $9 bowl of, you guessed it, Chicken Tortilla soup, which I do not care for. So that's getting tossed as well. (As a side note, when I mixed it up looking for any sign of rice, I saw there's barely any chicken in the soup. It's most just liquid. I DID experience this at another of their restaurants in the past with their soup, so I guess they just don't put much chicken in their soups, though $9 for a bowl of essentially liquid is a lot, especially considering a full meal is only $3 more.) I had also inquired when ordering if they had any salad dressing made without mustard. The last salad I had from that particular location tasted so heavily of mustard to the point where I and my spouse had to toss it out. (I've never experienced their salad dressings tasting so heavily of mustard at any of the 4 other locations I've eaten at numerous times.) I was told the balsamic with olive oil or their lemon dressing did not contain mustard. Well, both actually do contain mustard. Evidently, all their dressings include mustard in them. I would expect when you work at a restaurant taking people's orders you would be familiar with the menu items and ingredients and, if unsure, simply ask. So know if you eat here, don't take the cashier's word for what's in something. Assume they don't really know. Ask them to check with the kitchen. And know if your receipt reflects anything different from what you ordered, they screwed up and, as such, so will your order be. Either ask to be re-rung up correctly or when they hand you your order ask them to check with whomever just packed your food that it's what and how you ordered it. The person who handed it to me obviously hadn't packed it himself and equally obviously he couldn't be bothered to have it checked for me, despite the fact I showed him the error on my receipt and expressed my concern the kitchen, if going off the receipt, would give me the wrong food order, which is exactly what happened. Lastly, if you haven't been to this location, you may find it helpful to know, unlike other locations, you can't see the food before you order it. All the food preparation is done away from the customers sight. At other locations there are some dishes upfront by the register and you can also walk down an isle and look at all the different dishes so you can see what looks good and appealing to you. There's also very little space at the front of the restaurant to order, so you may likely find yourself waiting outside. Not so great when it's cold/rainy or very hot. read more

I usually go to the Marina Del Rey location and have always left feeling satisfied, food and customer service was always great. I decided to try the El Segundo location and I wish I hadn't. Started with the cashier who was overall kinda rude and unpleasant but I thought the food is worth her attitude so we find a table, which wobbled. I got my food almost immediately, they should have taken a few extra minutes on it, my steak was warm but my vegies were cold. I asked for a steak knife since the butter knife was not cutting it, they don't have steak knives! Who serves steak without the proper utensils, so I'm trying to cut my steak with this dull knife and the table is wobbling back and forth. Not a good experience. read more

My wife and I have always loved Tender Greens as our fall back plan for when we want fresh food but can't bring ourselves to cook dinner. Usually it's pretty good. But tonight, when I opened her order of steak, it was rare instead of medium rare. Not a big deal, since we got it to go to eat at home, and I can just throw it on the stove for a minute. However, when she went to eat, she noticed that her cuts of meat were actually mostly fat. She did her best to eat what portions of meat she could, cutting around the fat (see picture.) I would hope that Tender Greens would only serve what they themselves would be willing to pay for and eat, but that didn't seem to be the case tonight. Too bad because we really like the convenience of this place and would hate to have to stop going there. read more

Tender Greens opened up recently in close proximity to my office. I was very much looking forward to an alternative to high-fat, unhealthy fare for lunch. I went there the other day, and business is clearly great! Line was LOOOONG, so I took a pass, walked up to a nearby specialty grocery store and bought a Chinese Chicken Salad off the shelf for about $4. A colleague suggested that I could call in advance, and pick up, which is exactly what I did today. Ordering was quite easy online and gave me the exact time that it would be ready...appreciated that. I visited the restaurant (and there was another huge line) and was able to get my salad very quickly. Kudos to Tender Greens for a truly easy process! The salad itself - a Grilled Chicken Cobb at $12.50 -- was a disappointment. From the lettuce (whose brown streaks indicated it had been sitting out way too long -- or was it from yesterday? Ugh.) to the paucity of the blue cheese and bacon (not sure I saw any bacon), half a hard boiled egg (really...a half!) and the schmear of avocado, I'm hoping that this can be attributed to the newness of the restaurant. To their credit, the chicken was plentiful and quite tasty. If this is the best that they can do, I might be better off going up the street to Costco and paying $4. for their Caesar Salad. While it may not be gourmet, at least I'm getting a great value that is, indeed tasty; more than I can say for today's visit to Tender Greens, El Segundo. read more

I have been here numerous times hoping things would get better. I even continued coming here after I found a live worm in my salad. But tonight is the last time. My husbands steak was super fatty and practically raw. My chicken was overcooked. We both only had a few pieces of meat. Also, our Brussels sprouts were undercooked and inedible. Not only is the food terrible, but the customer service is just as bad. I waited on hold for 10 minutes one time, my food is rarely ready when I pick it up, and several of my takeout orders have been incorrect. I have given Tender Greens a lot of business in the past at different locations, both here in the LA area and in Arizona. Unfortunately, this location is by far the worst. I will literally never use this location again, and I am seriously considering not giving the company my business in the future. I ordered the Salt and Pepper Chicken Salad with everything on it and an Iced Green Tea through the PostMates App. I waited *over* two hours for my order. When it finally did arrive, my drink was not with the order and the salad was made incorrectly. By the way, is the bread supposed to feel like biting into a rock? Because it was as hard as one when it arrived. I asked the driver where my drink was and he said Tender Greens never gave it to him. I called Tender Greens to report the issues with my order and they never was once said "I'm sorry" or "I apologize for the inconvenience" or any of the standard empathetic responses you are supposed to use in customer service when you have made a mistake. The store manager, Jason Mayen, did not seem to care at all. He simply blamed the PostMates driver and took no responsibility for any mistake. The district manager is Tara Johnson and as soon as I can, I will reach out to her to let her know that this location is failing miserably. I will include a picture of the very sad salad I received after waiting over 2 hours. I would include a picture of the drink, but even though I paid for it, it did not arrive. Super disappointed in what used to be my favorite food place. I think Tender Greens has finally gone downhill in quality and service over the years and it's time to jump ship. read more

Yesterday my family and I had lunch here; aside from the kind young woman at the register and good food, what stood out to us the most was the outstanding service Sylvia provided. Even though the utensils and napkins were available for anyone to grab, Sylvia had already made her way to our table with all of the above including a bowl of water for my pup. She made us feel welcome and was genuinely interested in providing the best service. She shared kind words, she stopped by frequently to see if we needed anything, anticipated our needs, and what was most special was her positive and kind nature. I have visited various Tender Greens and have enjoyed the food I have ordered. So, when my husband was in the area, I suggested getting Tender Greens in El Segundo. I ordered over the phone because I wanted a seasonal item that was not available on the online system (i.e., avocado toast). I have ordered the avocado toast several times at the Torrance Tender Greens and each time fall more in love with it. So, I assumed it would be prepared the same way and taste similar at the El Segundo location. I understand there are slight variations in the taste due to the use of fresh produce. However, when I took my first bite, it tasted off and nothing like the ones I had previously ordered at the Torrance location. The bread was on the softer, close to soggier side. There was a slight weirdness when it came to the taste of the avocado spread. I just don't know how to explain it. It was just weird. I was hoping that if I kept eating it that it would get better but it didn't. I immediately realized this and stopped. My husband said his chicken plate was okay. It was slightly disappointing experience. It made me appreciate the Torrance Tender Greens more. read more

Beautifully prepared, delicious, healthy salads and plates. The Spring Salmon salad special was as attractive and delectable as an expensive restaurant, and priced to match - $15. I like that they bring the food to you. Service was efficient and helpful. Although you order at the counter, you get real porcelain plates, metal silverware, and real glasses to drink your free water from. All are nice touches. I did a catering for a large meeting today for lunch. I was impressed by the tracking feature so I could see where my order was at any given time. However, the order was supposed to arrive 30 mins before it actually did. Then, as if having a hungry crowd wasn't enough, the order arrived without plates, napkins or serving utensils. When I called the restaurant l was told that they don't give serving utensils any more. This might have been an important note to mention at the time of order to begin with. I was left serving salad with two small plastic forks. As for not having any plates or napkins, I'm still pretty shocked about that one. Also, when I called to let them know later in the day, I was asked what exactly my expectation was as a result. The person who I spoke to was extremely snooty and rude. I have visited this Tender Greens location many times. It's a nice location but the parking is horrible. Tight spaces, in which my car got a ding from another car's door while I was eating. However, it is located near some tempting eateries like Shake Shack and a donut shop that was being built about a month ago. Besides that, the restaurant has fast service, spacious interior with plenty of seating options and awesome healthy food! The only downer is how pricey the place can be but I always leave feeling full and satisfied. I will continue to frequent this establishment! read more

Went here a few weeks ago and I'll never come back. The cashier Cecilia has poor customer service. Ordered our food and drinks (3 plates and 1 to go) then sat down to wait for the food. I got up to ask for a water cup and she handed me a glass cup with water. I noticed there was pink lipstick still on the cup so I asked her for a new one only for her to tell me it's a scratch on the glass cup. No it wasn't a scratch. I showed her and she wiped it off then said well it's just on the outside. Thats pretty disgusting. I told her I didn't care and wanted a new cup only for her to give an attitude and say well you're going to have to wait. I told her that was fine. Waited and she came back to give me a new cup after helping a different customer. Instead of handing the cup to me she tossed it on the counter. How rude can you be? If you don't like your job, work somewhere else. She's lucky I had the patience that day. Btw there was a hair in our mashed potatoes. I have visited different locations: mar vista, Culver City, studio city and century city. They all get 5 stars. The two stars is only for El Segundo. What didn't I like? - the original concept of being able to see how they prepare/serve your plate is missing from this location. That's part of the experience and they should've kept it throughout their locations. - the ordering counter was installed waaay too close to the entrance. I went there on a Friday night so it wasn't crowded, but with two people queuing in front of me I almost had to step out of the restaurant and wait outside. - I ordered a cup of soup but got charged for a quart of soup (really expensive). I didn't notice until I was seated so I went back to talk to the girl that helped me. And she said "oh yeah, I had told my manager" so if I hadn't gone to complain they wouldn't have tried to reach me and fix their mistake? Umm that's stealing. The overall money return took a few minutes too long, usually it should be much faster but she needed the manager who was busy in the kitchen. - they gave me the soup for free. It was a chicken tortilla soup but it was honestly disgusting. It was like sipping on hot oil. No chicken, no tortilla. I couldn't even ask for a different type since it was free but I didn't eat it because it was gross. Maybe it was just the bottom of the soup since it was the end of the day? - the napkin/utensil station was not stocked so I had to look for a server to give me some napkins. - I'm a creature of habit and I always order their steak salad. Recently my doctor told me to stop eating PUFAs (polyunsaturated fatty acids) or vegetable oils, since they cause heart disease, obesity and Alzheimer's. I've gotten them out of my house, but 99% of restaurants use these cheap oils for cooking, marinades and dressings. I called to speak to a manager to see if they could accommodate my dietary restriction. Jason was the manager I spoke with, and he set aside three portions of steak for our family that he did not marinate in canola oil. Instead, he came in the next day (his day off), which is when we wanted to place our order, and he cooked our meat in olive oil, as well as our portion of vegetables to make sure our order was correct. We got the mashed potato as our second side since it's made with butter and cream, and we skipped our usual salad, since all their dressings are made with canola oil.
