This is my mom and I's hidden gem. I almost didn't want to write a review to give away the secret restaurant on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom . Anything you try on the menu is just full of flavor, unique, comes out hot and tasty. I try something different almost every time. But the one thing I do stay consistent with ordering almost every time is their delicious raspberry lemon drops. Our go to for good food and good times.

Hey there Party People I had no idea that there was a restaurant in Nordstrom....I was pleasantly surprised. We had a large group and our waiter was on top of every thing did an excellent job. A few of us ordered the French onion soup. The flavor was on point it wasn't a salt bomb, which happens allot with this type of soup. But they killed it with the flavor and thick Gruyère cheese. They used a sourdough bread that stayed crisp adding a great texture to the soup. We had ordered a few salads. You picked the type salad greens then picked your protein. Giving many options to be creative and really customize your salad experience. One of the guests order a steak. It was cooked perfectly having a fabulous flavor. We also tried the French dip sandwich. The meat was moist having almost no fat which was a welcome surprise. If I'm at the mall I'm definitely going there again. Be kind to one another

Everything we had were great The Cobb salads were loaded with eggs and avocados and more The truffles pizza crust is light And the fish and fish, batters were light and crispy. The quality of the foods were fresh Service was prompt and attentive

Burger with green salad. Chicken tacos..

Burger was so good and plenty! Chicken tacos were crispy and good . Coming from the Central valley to Stanford for cancer surgery appointment and needed to find good healthy food. We did!

Turkey Club. Love thin shoestring fries and their sauce that it comes with.

It's my comfort food place and a restaurant that's tucked away on the highest floor at most Nordstroms. It's mostly food that you probably end up eating after going golfing or something. I have a soft spot for a nice club sandwich with french onion soup (FOS), tomato soup, or crab/lobster bisque. I also like thin shoestring fries a lot. They always get served hot and fresh. The club sandwich always has this nice aroma like from fresh herbs that really gets the appetite going. Their white chocolate bread pudding is/was one of the best, I added was because back then the portion was heck of a lot bigger. Now it's just a shell of its former self, I guess it still tastes ok but that portion hit was pretty significant. Also, they were serving something weird called "the best part of French onion soup" which was a modified version to only serve the bread, cheese, and very small traces of soup. It was weird, like why do this? We weren't in a soup shortage or something were we? Either way I'm glad their FOS is back to its regular style, please don't do that again.

Was looking for new places to dine in around the Stanford Shopping Mall and found this hidden gem. Bazille is a casual American restaurant located inside Nordstrom on the third floor. Ambiance was dark, kind of makes you forget that you're in Nordstrom. Service was very kind and fast, always checked if we were good and if we needed anything else. Food itself was quite decent. Calamari had a perfect crisp and I loved how unique the Jalapeño aioli sauce was instead of a regular marinara sauce. The peppers added a nice kick and sweetness to the salty and savory dish. The French dip was great in size. Nothing special besides the Au Ju adding a juicy sensation to the sandwich. Caesar salad was tossed nicely and refreshing after such savory dishes. We also had the Truffle Mushroom Pizza. The truffle was a bit overpowering but I love how light and thin the dough was. Last but not least we had to try the crème brûlée. An all time classic dessert dish, didn't disappoint one bit however the raspberries had a bit of mold in it lol. Overall it was a decent casual dining experience! Price was reasonable for the portions and I enjoy a discreet location, however I don't think this is a restaurant I'll go out of my way to crave. Still a good try. Update: Review went from 4 stars to a two. Got food poisoning. Please be careful when dining here

Located on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom, this used to be called the Cafe Bistro (the receipt still says that) but it's now Bazille. The offerings are on par with what you'd get at a sit down place in a mall that is not the food court. Some pasta dishes, some steaks, mostly comfort food that they try to elevate. Service is pretty ordinary, the staff seems like they are there on forced volunteer work. Not very friendly and they miss details. But not the worst. We got the cilantro lime chicken tacos as appetizers and the crab bisque bowl. The tacos were ok, the crab bisque a little better but mostly cause it was richer. For the mains we got the mushroom ravioli, halibut fish and chips, and crab mac and cheese. They were all your run of the mill versions of those dishes. Ranging from $18 for the ravioli to $27 for the fish and chips. I think you're paying a premium for the service and ambiance, but both seem rather lacking so it's hard to justify that premium for pedestrian versions of these dishes. I really liked the crab mac n cheese, but again mostly cause it is rich and what's not to like about mac n cheese. On the plus side, it's quiet (I don't think many people venture there anymore with all the other choices Stanford mall has to offer) and quiet spacious so even if there is a crowd you can probably find a spot away from the crowds. So it offers more of respite from shopping compared to other dining options in the mall. If someone wanted to go there, I would not object, but I would never choose to go back of my own accord.

Food and service is the best and the staff makes you feel so at home and all are very attentive. The people behind the kitchen are all amazing. They make sure you are happy with what you ordered and food details are all top notch. We have been to all Nordstroms cafe and this is our favorite.

The space is sleek, modern, and light-filled, making it a perfect spot to gather with friends for lunch or evening drinks and bites. Here is a breakdown of what we tried: Deviled Eggs: A must-order appetizer! Topped with tobiko/caviar, crispy shallots, and chives, they are incredibly creamy with a nice pop of texture and savoriness. Korean Fried Chicken Wings: Crispy, perfectly glazed in a sweet-and-spicy sauce, and topped with sesame seeds. Served with a cool dipping sauce that balances out the heat wonderfully. Tacos (Carnitas & Shrimp): Both taco options were served on warm, fresh corn tortillas topped with pickled red onions, cilantro, and served with a side of slaw and spicy salsa. High quality and super flavorful. Roasted Cauliflower: A gorgeous mixture of purple and white cauliflower tossed with a rich green pesto and drizzle of spicy red pepper sauce. A phenomenal vegetable side with a great kick. French Fries: Golden, crispy, well-seasoned, and served in a massive bowl--perfect for sharing across the entire table. Overall: Excellent presentation, generous portions for small plates, and a super welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're stopping by for creative craft cocktails or grabbing a bite with a group near campus, Horsefeather delivers. Highly recommended!

I bought three tickets for the First Friday event scheduled for 8/4, from 4-8pm with chef Stephanie Izard. When I arrive at 6pm, I was told at the check in table that many of the food items were already out, and that I could request a refund. They told me to go in anyway, and to check out what was available. I waited thirty minutes in one line to get a bite of salmon, which was delicious, except the advertised item was sea bass, which they had run out of. Then they ran out of the salmon too, before I could get a second bite. Next, I waited in line to meet Chef Stephanie, but she stepped away from her station when I got to the front. I also found out it was a shrimp based dish (and the veggies were also cooked with shrimp paste), to which I am allergic to. All of the other food items were out. We left the event still very hungry, and I asked to speak with someone about the refund. They took down my name, number and email and said someone would call me the next week. No one ever did. When I called back to follow up, I again was told they would call me. They again did not. I would expect more professionalism especially when I'm being charged $344 for one bite of food. So this is a warning to all who are contemplating a future First Friday with guest chefs - you better arrive at 4pm, or else there will be no food left. **updating to add to I was contacted and offered a full refund and an apology

Definitely a family style dinner, order multiple things to try! Made a reservation couple weeks in advance for a week night dinner for 2. Celebrated our anniversary and couldn't be more happy we came to Ethel's Fancy. Service was great, everyone was friendly and explained the menu and process. Helped making some personal recommendations and the food came out quickly. The only dish that came out very slowly was the dessert, we did wait about 25 - 30 minutes just for the softserve, but all other dishes came out in a moderate time. Rouge de Bordeaux Milk Bread, comes with cultured amazake butter and some salt. Comes out super warm, puffy, and soft. Very nice pull and the butter is super decadent. Very great take on a japanese shokupan, we were hesitant at first, but it makes for a good appetizer 5:5 Warm Sesame Pancakes were like those mini sesame mochi pancakes at chinese dim sum, but the texture was slightly airy. The sauce to accompany it was unlike anything i've had, smoked trout, avocado and yuzu. The avocado was not over powering and the cream on top was whipped. Amazing pairing. 5/5 Sashimi of Kanpachi, japanese cucumber salad as the base and dressing with the kanpachi sashimi. I will say this was the weakest dish of the night. While still good, it was a bit too tart, it overpowered the other natural flavors. Fish was still very good, tender and not fishy, but again, over powered but all the tartness in the dish. 3/5 Yellowfin Tuna on sushi rice - this was a great shareable plate of upscale poke. The tuna was great, no fishy taste, perfectly seasoned and the smoked kira had an amazing pop of flavor. Very rich and decadent dish, absolutely loved the harmony of a slight smokey flavor to the nice rich, umami savoriness. 5/5 Crispy Caledonian Prawns - Absolute star of the night. We could not stop talking about these prawns. Big plump prawns, fried perfectly, where the prawn itself was not dry but the shell had a shatteringly crispy exterior definitely slightly coated with a starch to give it a nice crunch. The chili ramp sunomono was a great touch, not spicy at all but added a great touch of flavor that complimented the crispy prawns. Could devour plates of these! 6/5! Sword-Fish Katsu Style - A great take with sword fish, flakey but not overcooked, great thin crispy katsu. Accompanied by kumquat and cauliflower, helps cut down the greasiness. The sauce with it was a buttery tart sauce. This was a lot better where the tartness helped the fried fish. It was like eating a fried fish burger without the buns. I really enjoyed this one. 5/5 Lastly we ordered a softserve with peaches, shokupan croutons and a caramel dressing. We had to wait about 25 minutes just for the small softserve so we were a bit surprised as other dishes came out relatively quickly or in an orderly fashion. It still tasted great as a little small dessert but definitely was surprised by how long it took. 3/5 Overall, we were very happy with our experience at Ethel's and it definitely lives up to the standard it sets. I can't wait for other new dishes to try and come back in the future.

I have a severe tree nut allergy. Before ordering, I informed our server of my allergy and asked him to identify every dish that contained nuts so I could safely participate in our family-style business dinner. He assured me he would take care of it and specifically pointed out one dish that contained hazelnuts. Later, a golden beet dish was served to the table with no mention that it contained cashews. After taking a few bites, my tongue immediately began tingling. When I asked if the dish contained nuts, our server had to go back to the kitchen to check. He returned and explained that the dish did, in fact, contain cashews and that he didn't know they had recently been added to the recipe. This is exactly the type of mistake allergy protocols are supposed to prevent. Even after it was confirmed that the dish had triggered an allergic reaction, the plate remained on our table until I specifically asked for it to be removed. At the time, I was over six months PREGNANT and traveling alone for work. I had to take Benadryl, leave my business dinner early, miss the remainder of the evening with my colleagues, and spent much of the night vomiting, experiencing gastrointestinal distress, and recovering before a full day of meetings the next morning. I recognize that ingredient changes happen. What is unacceptable is failing to communicate those changes to the staff responsible for protecting guests with serious allergies. The next day, I immediately sent a detailed email to the restaurant's management and owner explaining what happened and asking what changes they planned to make to prevent this from happening to someone else. I never received a response even 2 months later. To make matters worse, I later learned they only removed the charge for the single dish that caused the allergic reaction, despite the significant impact the incident had on my evening, as well as my colleagues, and the obvious seriousness of the situation. I'm incredibly fortunate that my reaction did not progress to anaphylaxis. Another guest may not be so lucky. If you or someone you're dining with has a serious food allergy, I would think very carefully before eating here. A restaurant can make mistakes, but how it responds afterward (or shall I say lack of response) says just as much about its commitment to guest safety; and in my experience, that response was deeply disappointing.

The kitchen is open and you can appreciate the chefs working on their open wood fired grills and pizza ovens, because if which there is a faint, woody, aromatic fragrance in the restaurant. The staff is polite and courteous. They left a signed note on the table for my husband's birthday which was a sweet gesture. For the drinks, we started with the jean claude pandan, pandan being the my husband's current favorite ingredient in food and drinks. I had the drink with dill, which the server warned me about being centered around the flavor if pickles (which I am personally fond of). The pandan drink was a light and refreshing highball and I found the dill cocktail to be creamy and delicious, but didn't really leave me with a sour aftertaste. For food, we went with the drip trio platter which came with fresh pita bread pieces, and the drip trio of hummus with roe on top, chilled tzatziki, and muhammara. Then we moved on to the oysters which were fresh, will a dressing of an herb oil of some sort. They also had a complementary palette cleanser in between which was a shot of watermelon and orange juice. For maincourse, my husband went for the tagliatelle and I chose the ravioli, both choices were corroborated by our server to be the right ones to go for. The tagliatelle is expensive because of the lobster and caviar that it comes with. However, the pasta is delicious and comes in a decadent sauce. Not a lot of lobster pieces though. The ravioli had a robust mushroom flavor and came with a light sauce of mushrooms, crispy fried shallots, and pine nuts. We skipped dessert because we were pretty full already. Would definitely recommend this place for a cozy dinner out but it's quite expensive so might not be a place to go to frequently.

Every time I have come to Sun of Wolf, I always get top notch service, everyone is so friendly…read more I also like the menu selection and the vibes of the restaurant. On this occasion, we came here on a Friday evening, we had made reservations for 6 of us. I personally ordered the agua fresca-pineapple and the lasagna. We ordered 2 chips and salsa for the table and the others ordered, arugula salad, tacos de carnitas, mahi mahi tacos, hamachi tostadas and drinks such as the spicy tamarindo, mocktail and margarita. Everyone loved their selections. One of my friends ordered the chocolate tart and the chocolate was too rich for my liking but the mousse that accompanied it was soo good, very tart and tropical. This restaurant is on California Ave., no restaurant parking but there is street parking nearby, although not on this street since its closed off to vehicle traffic. Because of timing for other errands we came at 10:30 am and they were open on time and ready. Sitting outside or inside is amazing, outside you get the crowd and the sun. Inside you get amazing interior design. My overall feedback is this is one of the rare "fancy" Mexican places that justify the price and justification. Everything is above average in taste and execution. Brunch Tacos mole: chicken mole poblano, scrambled eggs, huitlacoche, tortillas, epazote crema, fried shallots & avocado. Perfect portioning and the salad that came with it had a fantastic dressing. I pulled some chicken out and gave it to my wife and then it was perfect, a bit too overstuff before. The mole and overall taste were quite good though. Chilaquiles: tortilla chips sautéed in chile de árbol-guajillo salsa, topped with queso fresco, cilantro crema, and an egg. My wife loved this so much it made her question every time she didn't order it before. Fried egg sandwich: two over easy eggs on house baked brioche bun, chipotle aioli, avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, fried shallot. Kids loved this and happily ate the leftover after. Iced Mexican Cafe: delicious iced coffee with a distinct Mexican taste. Distrito Verde: mezcal, basil, lemon, and falernum. Simple but refreshing brunch cocktail, really paired well with the mole tacos. Chips and salsa: These are not free but worth the price. Both the chips and the 2 salsa are of extremely good quality and preparation. Abnormally tasty and the kids went crazy eating it.

Parking is available in the private lot or on nearby residential streets. Dining is available either inside the dining room, at the bar, or outdoors on the covered patio. Flea Street is featured in the Michelin guide. Our waitress was phenomenal the entire evening, being very sweet and attentive. She was quite talented too! ;) Meal started off with the complimentary biscuit, served with a side of beautiful butter, salt, as well as a piece of carrot. This was decent as the biscuit was merely lukewarm. The lamb chop as a snack was quite tasty. These were sold per piece and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The farmers salad, dungeness crab cake, as well as the cured trout small plates were all quite tasty. Loved how premium and light the farmer's salad was. The dungeness crab cake was super light and tasty too! The cured trout was excellent with the homemade potato chips! The cioppino was gigantic and perfect for sharing. It featured a ton of premium seafood, from clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp, as well as a couple pieces of black cod fish along with a few pieces of toasted bread! Finished off the meal with an apple galette which was tasty and served with a scoop of ice cream which was surprisingly a touch lacklustre... The meal ended off with a couple chocolate dipped strawberries. ~$130/head after 20% service charge and 3% employer benefits surcharge.
