Tender Greens - Pasadena Overall, everything was great. The food was very tasty and fresh. The restaurant has a large dining area with plenty of seating, which is very comfortable. Service was fast and efficient. A small downside was that the tables on the patio were a bit dirty -- they could use a more thorough cleaning and better maintenance throughout the day. The staff also seemed a little tired, but it didn't affect the overall positive experience. I would definitely come back and recommend this place.

This is my second visit to Tender Greens in Pasadena. Both times, I ordered something with salmon because I love salmon. Concept is simple and easy as shown below. Pick one protein Pick one green Pick one side For my most recent lunch, I went with the Pacific w/ Grilled Salmon that comes with sushi rice, miso mayo, pickled cucumber, carrots, mizuna, sesame, and ginger dressing. Yes, give me everything! A whole avocado would have been a nice addition to this bowl. Nevertheless, it was so delicious and tasty!! Staff was nice and pleasant. Atmosphere is open and spacious. Great dine-in seating available. They can get super busy during lunch so come here early. Parking may be limited. Any offering of healthy and delicious meals is a WIN in my book. Go Tender Greens! And thank you for sharing your love for better health through better foods!! P.S. I will post more photos later. Thanks!

It's been a hot minute since I've had tender greens, probably about 2-3 years, some things remained the same and some different. Food - My go to has always been the plate with the crispy fried chicken with mashed potatoes and baby spinach. This time around it seems like the breading is different - it's not as crispy, and a little bit sad - still tastes decent though, but wasn't how I remembered it Service - The Pasadena crew is phenomenal- very friendly, helpful, and fast. I'm always impressed with their service here.

Healthy food choices. Pasadena area. I got the Plates--Seared Tuna (which is raw) and 2 sides (seasoned vegetables and Mac & cheese). The seasoned vegetables were really good. Mac and cheese wasn't that good. Seared tuna was ok. The Roasted Tomato Soup was ok too. I would have liked it creamier. Sundays, the street parking is free even though there is metered parking. However, just make sure and check. Clean tables when we went. There are restrooms.

Always friendly staff and accommodating to my needs. I love their pozole soup! Also, there's validated parking around the side that many don't know about. Makes it one of the more convenient places in this area to eat at.

This review is only based on my TOGO experience. The steak was cooked medium rare. And it was not overcooked like other places! It was well seasoned. It was pricey, $20 with tax but definitely worth my money because it was healthy and cooked to perfection. The crispy potatoes were just potatoes cut into pieces and deep fried, seasoned with salt. I gave it one star off because the bread was extremely hard to bite. Maybe it's meant to be consumed differently? I'm asian. I don't know what to eat that with other than by itself. Would come back.

The food overall was good . My burger was interesting . Someone in the back started ringing us up and then a guy took over so the girl in the back said it came with potatoes, but the guy said would you like to add something so I'm not really sure what it comes with. We asked about Chardonnay, If he could describe the difference is he said no he laughed and says I just sell it . I like the outside seating . I probably wouldn't go back to eat there.. parking on streets in front and on side streets

Very accommodating! There was a miscommunication with our order and the manager was helpful in placing the order for us. The restaurant was clean. We had about 12-15 orders and it took about 40 min. I picked up in person and was able to see them assemble and pack our orders. I appreciated that the orders were all correct and they labeled it by names. I recommend for catering. Food is delicious and fresh tasting.

Arrived for an early dinner at 4:45 PM on Tuesday with a friend for first time visit. We wanted to eat a healthy salad. We were not disappointed with the salmon plate with two sides ( Roasted vegetables and arugula or baby greens salad). The salmon was cooked just right and the salads with appropriate dressing. The variety of roasted vegetables were fresh and nicely seasoned. Service was quick and efficient. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed so we were able to eat leisurely and chat.

I have always loved tender greens and appreciated how fresh the food tastes! Never feels like it has unnecessary oils or cooked poorly. I'm so sad about the pasta pearl salad being taken away from the menu! The food is great and the service is always fantastic. This time they did forget to give us the bread but it's okay. The waiter ended up giving us a free cookie out of the kindness of his heart it was very much appreciated and very sweet! We'll always come back

Pretty much everything about this place exceeds expectations. The lighting is warm, the seating is comfortable, the service is on point, and the flavor and quality of the food is excellent. Now add to that about a $20 price point for most entrées which is incredibly reasonable and you get five stars from me. Both the grilled salmon plate and the grilled steak plate were excellent, although I preferred the salmon by a slim margin.

Came here for a date night after having a great experience at the Glendale location but saw that it had closed down. The Pasadena location was kind enough to honor the 25% of coupon I had for the Glendale location. Pros: -cute place -clean -LOVE the longevity bowl, but it was not very consistent with the one I got at the Glendale location -boyfriend also felt his Happy Vegan bowl was quite different than Glendale Cons: -seemed a bit unorganized and chaotic for the staff handling online orders/tables -we had to go to the counter to ask for our side of crispy potatoes that were apparently ready but cold by the time we got it -side of seasonal veggies was not worth $4.50 Overall I hope they can get it together behind the counter and that people will come here! I don't want this location to close too!

It was nice to get out of the summer heat into an air conditioned restaurant. What we ordered: Drinks (included with $25 dineLA prix-fixe) - Berry lemonade - non-refillable - Craft soda (cream soda) - refillable Appetizers - Grilled mushrooms - Farmhouse beets Entrees - Poke bowl - Pasta alla Vodka Dessert (gelato) - vanilla fleur de sel - dark chocolate - cherry almond chip The berry lemonade was salty. I wasn't expecting a salty drink. I had to wash it down with iced water. My friend enjoyed her agave vanilla cream soda. She gladly accepted a refill. The grilled mushrooms were nicely seasoned. We enjoyed the variety: oyster and trumpet mushrooms. The farmhouse beets were served with arugula, feta, candied pecans, and a lemon vinaigrette. These were nice starters. I ordered the poke bowl. The portion size was perfect for lunch. It contained tuna, soba noodles at the base, small cubes of mango & avocado, toasted coconut, red onion, basil, and sesame seeds. The ingredients were fresh and beautifully presented. The pasta alla vodka was slightly spicy. It consisted of "mezze maniche" or large tubular pasta, pungent pecorino cream, tomato, garlic, and shallots. It was topped with grated Parmesan cheese. This was a heavier entree. Each of us had one scoop of gelato. It was a nice finish to a pleasant Friday afternoon.

This was our first time here, so we had to try the Asparagus Fries. The asparagus was cooked to perfection but the batter did not have much flavor. Members of our party ordered the California Salad, a Veggie Burger, the Meatloaf and a Picante Pizza. The California Salad was smaller than expected but delicious. The Veggie Burger was excellent! The Meatloaf was the hit of the table. It was so good that my wife did not offer a taste to any of us. She was in food Heaven. The pizza was exactly as described and tasted wonderful. Since we were celebrating my birthday, our server brought me a delicious piece of double chocolate cake with a candle in it. Nice touch!! We also had one of their Warm Butter Cake's with some excellent vanilla ice cream on top. Absolutely wonderful!. This may be our new "go-to" place. The restaurant has a nice, natural light filled space, and though it was busy, it wasn't too loud. It worked out well to go with two people so we could try almost all the options... - Scallop aguachile, avocado, salsa macha verde: Came with two shells, each with a little scallop, avocado, zucchini, radish, cilantro. Nice and refreshing to start. - Strawberry and vanilla French toast fingers, pistachio marzipan: A very generous portion of French toast with strawberry jam and pistachio sauce. Nice and crunchy crust. It was an interesting contrast to the aguachile first course! - Crab cake eggs benny: Two poached eggs on crab cakes. This was good, nothing unexpected, though I was getting pretty full at this point. - Summer berries, Scottish shortbread, white chocolate mousseline: This was the only dish we were disappointed by. The shortbread was pretty bland and the texture was lacking crispness. - Profiteroles, vanilla ice cream, strawberry ice cream, hot fudge sauce: Simple dessert but put together well. We both also ordered Purple reign cocktails, which went well with brunch. Overall it ended up being quite a bit of food and a good value for two.

After researching and making the trip to Pasadena numerous times, I never discovered the Pez Coastal Kitchen. I was here for lunch and walked into a small but impressive space, elegantly decorated, with both a dining and bar area. My seating was in the latter, not on bar stools, but at a table for two, because I was dinning solo. For appetizers, I chose the scallop aguachile. There were two small portions, each in a plastic shell, sitting on a bed of ice. While I am not fond of aguachiles because of the general overdose of citrus in them, this one really surprised me. While there were only small pieces of scallop, it had an abundance of small cubed cucumber pieces that provided the nicest contrast of crunch, juice and texture. The citrus was mild and well balanced. A wonderful start. I selected the fried fish burger for my entree. The fish was mildly battered, yet lightly crisp, to highlight the big pieces of fresh, flaky and moist fish that were literally, falling off the burger. It was a good stack, with minimum lettuce, tomato and sauce, so as to not take it away from the star, the succulent, perfectly prepared, flavorful fish. The bun was also well crafted, nice and fluffy on the inside, not dry, with a buttery brown on the outside. Easily one of the best fish burgers I have had. For dessert (the third course), I had to have the profiteroles with ice cream. One was with vanilla, the other with strawberry. Both came topped with dark chocolate sauce, that had hardened by the time of eating. A superbly assembled concoction, that provided the crackle and exhilarating mouth feel. I cannot remember the last time where at a Dine LA restaurant, all three lunch courses were so well presented and satisfying. One was better than the other. Overall, it was worth the drive, for an extraordinary dining experience.

We ended up at Magnolia House for a late lunch/early dinner. They also serve breakfast/brunch only on weekends. Walked in around 4:30pm and we were greeted by Brian, one of the managers. Brian was the standout star of the whole experience! His energy was exceptional and he is such a great conversationalist. He checked on us several times throughout our meal and made sure we were doing well. He on his own was HANDS DOWN a five star human being. At first, he wanted to seat us in the back corner but I told him the table was too small and he accommodated us with a bigger table. Our server Kiana came up to the table with a pleasant smile and greeting to take our drink orders. I got a glass of cranberry juice along with some water. My son got the American Dream cocktail along with some water. We skipped on dessert. From 4-6pm, they have a happy hour menu with some of their cocktails and shareable plates. The portions are just a bit smaller and the prices are a little lower. It's a good way to sample different items. I think we got a good variety of food to enjoy. To start, we got the Little Gem Salad. It was such a unique combination of flavors and SUPER delicate/light. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next starter was the Zucchini and Feta Fritters, which was good but not the best out of everything else we ordered. The zucchini was a bit mushy but the batter it was fried in was crispy. Another starter we shared were the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Wings. These wings are gigantic and very flavorful. They definitely pack some heat, so be careful. I don't think the A/C was NOT working to begin with, so the place was already hot. The wings made us sweat even more. For entrées, we got the burger and the pork belly. Brian said they are known for their burger and after taking the first bite, it's clear as to why. It was absolutely PERFRCTION. So delicious! The bun, the meat, the cheese, the onions, and the crispy bacon...all of it mixed together into the perfect burger. I had wanted to add some mushrooms and avocado to it, but Kiana said they were unable to do it. I also asked for lettuce and she said that would be an extra charge. What extra charge for lettuce? We still got charged for avocado when the bill came, but they took it off once we mentioned it. The pork belly was also very tender, flavorful, and crispy. It's just hard to compete with the burger! We also got an order of the Belgian Fries to share and we were both pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The fries are salty and cut pretty thick. The sauce that came on the side was so yummy. We asked for a small extra cup to-go. All in all, the food was great and we liked everything. The vibe of the restaurant wasn't really all that for me. Brian genuinely made up for anything that was lacking in the atmosphere. He is such a wonderful asset to the restaurant and their company. The restaurant itself has been here for about 15 years now and it used to be a very old house. You can tell when you look around. They did a good job with the renovations, but you can see the different areas/rooms. I think they tried to keep the casual comfort of a home, while making it a slightly elevated experience. It was very clean everywhere, especially the bathrooms. They have one gender neutral bathroom, one for men, and one for women. No private parking, so you'll have to park on the street and put money in the kiosk. They also had an outdoor seating. Pretty BIG, only took picture of one side. They also have 2 small TVs. In the bar area and inside their cute lounge. I normally like to try new places, especially when I'm in Pasadena, so I'm not sure if I'll come back here. Maybe if Brian is working, it would definitely be worth stopping by again! Thank you all..

It tastes like bland bar food now. $19 for 2 meatballs laying in tomato paste....and they were not even room temperature. Holy Saints is the kind of restaurant where you look at some of the combinations on the menu and…read morewonder how they're going to work together; then you try it, and it all makes sense. QUICK TAKE Get: Fish of the Day, Lamb, Moroccan-style Mushrooms Skip: Duck was our one miss Know: This is a good place for adventurous eaters who like sharing dishes and trying unexpected flavor combinations. Holy Saints does a nice job of making food feel creative without crossing over into "trying too hard." There are a lot of different influences running through the menu, and several dishes had us talking about the flavors and ingredients as much as the food itself. What we tried: Moroccan-style Mushrooms - A great example of what Holy Saints does well. Earthy, savory mushrooms with contrasting textures from the nuts, thinly sliced radish, herbs and crispy elements on top. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked together. Definitely one to share. Fish of the Day - One of the highlights of the meal and something I would absolutely order again. The fish came over rice in a deeply flavored sauce with peppers, herbs and fresh vegetables. Colorful, comforting and much more interesting than the standard fish-and-vegetables preparation you see at a lot of restaurants. Lamb - Another winner. Rich, hearty and well seasoned, with the sauce pulling everything together. If you're visiting for the first time and like lamb, this would be high on my list. Duck - Good flavor, but it seemed like the duck sauce could have benefited from a little more time to rest before being sliced and served. We joked that we should have brought a bag, taken it home and eaten it as leftovers instead. Sometimes duck might just need a night to think about what it did. What I liked most about Holy Saints is that the food wasn't boring. The kitchen takes familiar ingredients and puts them together in ways you probably wouldn't think of yourself, which makes it a fun restaurant for ordering several things and sharing around the table.

Great cozy, American small plates spot in Pasadena. Parking around is pretty simple with structures…read moreall around and pretty easy to make a reservation for a Saturday. Dishes tried: - Sourdough bread and bbq butter, solid for a bread dish, butter is definitely unique, reminded me of Lay's BBQ chips in a good way - Grandma's Risotto w/ prosciutto, okay for me? Prosciutto was a supplement here and needs it imo for that oomph, otherwise a fine risotto dish but would pass unless it speaks to you - Barnyard Bolognese - a bit underwhelming to start, just too one-note for me, but it eventually grew on me and would get it again if I wanted a rich pasta - Duck Magret Au Poivre - easily my favorite dish here and what I would come back for and recommend for people, tender duck with the right amount of fat and a great sauce. Fries are a bit thicker than I would like, but still enjoyed it. - Seasonal apple pie - more of a danish if I had to describe it to someone, but nice texture and more importantly, not too sweet!
