The food at this establishment is not your typical Chinese takeout food. Its a bit pricey compared to other Chinese food takeout spots but the food is excellent. We have ordered here a couple of times and the food was always tasty. I have only ordered take out and the staff is always friendly and packs the items very well. The only item I wasn't thrilled with was the fried rice, it needed more flavor. And I wish their soups came in a larger size. The place never fails me wether I am dining in or delivery. Today I tried the sesame chicken with veg fried rice. On point not too saucy or sweet. And I enjoyed the green beans in there instead of the normal broccoli. I got the luncheon special that included a soup. I had the hot and sour and it was on point. Excellent Hakka Chinese food! Went with my girlfriend and her mom, we were seated right away. Nice quiet ambience inside for comfortable dining. We ordered the spring rolls as appetizers which were delicious, especially the dipping sauce. I had the red curry Shrimp which was one of the best curry dishes I've had in the United States. This place is great. I found this places while scrolling through Instagram. One day, I saw the chicken lollipop and I was like I need to try it. I was surprised on how good it was. We have been waiting for a good Indian Chinese resturants for awhile now. We ate hear twice in a week already. Ok I never post, have to say this place deserves it. My parents love Indian-Chinese as do I. Growing up here there are many of these in Long Island. even in the city where my wife, son and I live there are tons none of which I don't care to remember the name. This place defines authentic, the owners even worked in areas of Bombay that brought smiles to my parents faces. They spoke Hindi to us which my dad was ecstatic about. The food is superb, OMG!!! We got the Manchurian shrimp, Szechuan chicken, hakka garlic chicken and shrimp pad Thai. Everything I would order again and it makes my mouth water thinking about it. I can't wait to go back. When I first walked into Teng's Restaurant I was greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Teng. They were so nice and had noticed I was parked in front of their restaurant for a while, so they asked me if I had any questions about the cuisine. Their restaurant serves Hakka Chinese cuisine which is influenced by the flavors of India. I ordered the $14 Hakka chicken dinner which has a nice spicy flavor without being overwhelming. The peppers are green and there is also a cilantro flavor as well which freshens the dish up. I upgraded to vegetable fried rice which was a pleasant surprise as the rice grains were soft and not too hard like some fried rice dishes. As an appetizer I had Hakka Momo pan fried pork dumplings. Wow!!!This appetizer stood out. At $8 for six dumplings, this was a standout for flavor. We also ordered the $8 lemon grass and coconut milk mussels appetizer which were also very tasty. We actually saved the broth for some noodles that we will cook tomorrow as it is almost like a thai soup. The mussel broth has some tomatoes in it with the lemon grass leaves. My wife had the $20 Thai seafood combo which had shrimp, mussels, scallop, squid, peppers, basil, onions, etc. It came with a side of rice. She loved the flavor of the sauce they cook it in. I really have to say that we sometimes take for granted how hard restaurant owners work to make their places a success, especially in the challenging times we are in. The Tengs were so nice and accommodating to requests to change the spice levels of the dishes for us. Went there today for lunch menu takeout, after receiving their menu in my mail. I've been eating Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc.) food for decades both here and overseas, and I have to say that this is something different....and special. Wasn't sure what to expect, so just went for simple, basic dishes, which is what I use to decide on the quality of any restaurant, and we were both very pleasantly surprised. Every single dish (even the soup and fried rice) was incomparable, and I don't use that term lightly. I honestly hope they make it here, which is not the best location in the world, because they deserve to be well patronized and well known. I won't recommend any particular dish, because I feel that if what we had was so good, their other offerings must be as good if not even better. I was looking on Yelp for Pad Thai in the area. I saw that Teng's had great reviews and wanted to try it. I also noticed in the reviews that it was authentic, I don't usually like ordering Pad Thai from Chinese food restaurants. For my vegetable order I asked that the sauce be put on the side if possible. Shortly after placing my order I got a call from the restaurant, they saw my note and asked if I preferred to have my vegetables steamed.
