Place has a loud atmosphere and good food I'm definitely going back for the Micheladas and seafood dishes it was great

Stopped by Tequilas Botanero in San Jose and had a really good experience overall. The Mar y Tierra tacos were delicious -- great flavor and cooked perfectly. Definitely something I'd order again. I also ordered a double michelada, which tasted great and was super refreshing. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it only came with two shrimp on top, which felt a little light for a double michelada. Other than that everything was solid and I'd definitely come back. Good food, good drinks, and a fun spot to hang out. read more

I'm staying with my 4 star because the seafood is just yummy and fresh! This time I brought my daughter and son in law! I went with enchiladas plate this time. I chose carnitas with green sauce. The green sauce was not what I was used too. I was thinking it was verde sauce but this was too sour for me. I also order a side chicken crunchy taco. Chicken was too dry. My daughter went for the shrimp, octopus and fish tostadas and it was so good and fresh! My SIL ordered the fried tilapia that too was a hit crispy outside but moist and flavorful inside! He said he was just Missing his soy sauce to make his dipping sauce. Just wanted to note service to check on how we were doing or needed any drink refill was a miss. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Just don't come here expecting to converse because the music is deafening. The menu offers a variety of seafood, burgers, sushi (fusion), and traditional Mexican dishes. They do offer a large selections of alcohol, too (beer). I ordered Tequila's Quesadilla (asada). It was very good, juicy from the asada and fresh tomatoes and lettuce) so anticipate it to be messy, so towards the end I opted to use a knife and a fork to eat. The complimentary chips and salsa (verde and orange) were both very fresh and good, too! I'll try something else next time. read more

This is a super fun place for late night eats and mariachi music. The staff was friendly and quick to serve the food! The food was good, but the highlight is the michelada with the giant shrimp! I've been to this place in the past on a weekend and the atmosphere is wild! Live music and a lot of beer flowing throughout! It's a vibe! This time we went on a Monday evening for dinner and it was much quieter, the service was great and very enjoyable. Whooooaaaaa!!! This place is wild!!! Music bumping to wake up the neighbors! Came here on a calm Thursday night to have some food and ended up in club! Love it! This place is near my parent's house they recommended this place to me they love it . This place is located off Monterey Rd busy street not to far from the downtown area. The inside was huge and very colorful with TVs everywhere like a lot of TVs and lights . They have live music you can pay for them to sing and play at your table. For food my friends got seafood stuff I'm allergic just let your waiter know if u are too . I got nachos and tacos my friend also got the huevos ranchers all the food was 10/10 . For drinks my friends got Micheladas with shrimp which they offer different kinds of Micheladas with more add ons . They also have margaritas and Hennychata which is what I got Horchata and a small bottle of Hennessy I have not had one of those since Chachos lol It was delicious! It was my first time to visit the restaurant. I was craving for shrimps and the restaurant was the best place to go for shrimps. The restaurant got busy for dinner, but we got a good service. Came here today with my man, on a Saturday. So not sure if the vibe is the same during the week. Ordered: shrimp & steak plate , seafood soup, & a regular michelada Price: $75 and some change. This included a 3% charge for paying with a credit card. Service: quick, friendly Ambiance: it is loud inside. Can be a great thing or an awful thing. Great for celebrating. Music is loud. For a first date? I would not recommend if you're trying to talk to your date. Too loud to talk to the person across from you comfortably. But loud enough to want to sing with your friends. Outside it is much more quiet. Better if you're trying to have a more intimate experience. Will I come back? Yes. It was a fun time! read more

Been a while since 2021, I had to and get my favorite Tacos De Pescado - Fish tacos. They changed the plating on those tacos Just the fish and hot sauce and the radish and grilled jalapeno to go with it. If you look at my pictures back in August 2021 they would put a lot of lettuce and tomato on top of the tacos and now it's BETTER without all of that nonsense. I ate 5 of them OMG!! LOL! Hijole Que Rico!! Went to NOM NOM city. The two waitresses were servicing EVERYBODY coming. They were awesome and fast and professional. They have new additional flat screens. I counted 11 and maybe more. This place will be hopping on any NFL Football game or Futbol soccer game. The seats outside are perfect. Prices are good enough to leave them a descent tip. read more

Amazing food, amazing service, and amazing ambiance here at Tequila's & Botanero!! I love this place! It was my second time here tonight and my family and I had a great time. I ordered the tequila's quesadilla with carne asada and a side of rice. So good! Their seafood is a must try here as well - my family ordered a shrimp dish and a fried fish dish and they were both delicious. The seafood is very fresh. The service is wonderful here! Our server was the sweetest along with all of the other staff whether it was to come check in to see how we were doing or a smile as they walked by. The ambiance is so fun! On Tuesdays they have karaoke and a DJ. The music is very very loud here so not a place to go to if you're looking for somewhere quiet and to have a conversation, we could barely hear each other over the music. We could even hear the music all the way down the street. Not sure if it's like this every night but we loved it!! This will definitely be a go-to spot of ours now! Highly recommend! read more

Second time going here and it still was OK. The hennychata taste really good, even just the horchata by itself it's good. I am not a michelada person, so I did not try it, but the camarones on it were good. I didn't like how they put Mango on basically every dish and I love Mango. The service was horrible. The waitress would walk near our table and see empty plates and leave them there (our table was full of plates with food). She did not pick anything up till the end when we were leaving. The ambience is good if you love loud music and are not there to talk to the people you went with. It is a good spot to go drink with friends and watch games. First things first we order a Michelada it was topped with two seasoned shrimp, a slice of Cucumber and a slice of orange the tequilas roll which was deep fried roll had tempura shrimp,Imitation crab, topped with their house made Mayo sauce this roll was very tasty. Friends and I were craving a super michelada with the shrimps. It was probably one of the best we've had. We also got some asada tacos and they were to me probably the best asada tacos I've ever had in SJ. The asada was juicy and not dry like some places and the seasoning or marinade was flavorful. Some taco places all you taste is the salsa and lime and the meat is dry. Service was great! The beautiful ladies as waitresses here are very sweet and always checks up on you. We sat outside in the back to enjoy the sunny weather. There's a lot of tables inside and a lot of people it's a cool spot for family or friends to hangout and enjoy good food and drinks. The cucaracha was *chef's kiss* delicious ! I would've had another whole plate if I could. The sauce was so good. Very flavorful and with a little heat. Each bite was delicious. Would've been so good with some plain white rice as well to soak up any left over sauce. I ate everything on the plate, the pickled onions, cucumbers, orange slices with Tajín and tomatoes. Everything was just so good. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The two types of shrimp was a plus. I love shrimp especially with the head so having the standard shrimp plus the tiger shrimp was great. Live music was cool, super loud inside, hard to talk to everyone at the table if you're voice isn't loud, but it was enjoyable. Service was great, super friendly and fast. Horchata was a tad too sweet for me, but it was good. Super clean and bright inside. The light strips were a little different, but it made the place fun. read more

Great food & good service. I came here on a Saturday afternoon for dinner and drinks since it was a friend's birthday. Upon arrival there was no parking so I got dropped off while hubbie was driving around for 15 minutes looking for a spot to park. The parking lot is tiny! Well, the restaurant is relatively small too and extremely packed. Inside was crowded and the music is too loud to have a conversation. Good thing we were set up on the patio. I was pleased with the good service since we had a large party (Over 20). They refused to split the bill what's so ever. The food was really good and we didn't have to wait long after ordering. Drinks were good but very expensive. $17 a shot. And 16.99 for a chavela. Yikes. Our bill cost more for drinks than food. They did bring a complimentary fruit plate of mango and Cucumber as well as a birthday flan/shot for birthday girl. She was very happy. The service gals all helped one another at our table and continously checked on us. Most of them didn't speak English so I did a lot of translating. The guys liked this restraunt for the service girls (they all had bbl). The patio was nice to sit at because I could hold a conversation without guessing what the person next to me is saying since music wasn't too loud outside. There are foot vendors that walk around trying to sell homemade food items and etc. Overall it was a great experience and I wouldnt mind coming back. read more

Carne asada plate 10/10! The portions are big, bacon is actually crispy and cook it how you would expect at a breakfast spot! Super loud and I'm not big on places like that only because I get a bit overwhelmed but I do enjoy the ambience, the music and feeling like your at a fiesta, actually feeling the comfort of the place. Great food... but why the picnic wear? I really like the food in this place as it serves authentic pacific coast Mexican food. The aguachile is phenomenal. However, I am not sure why a large restaurant with so much customer traffic is using disposable utensils and cups. Even when you ask for a water refill they would bring you a fresh plastic cup every time. I would encourage management to change this practice which is Completely unnecessary and choose what is right for the environment. read more
