Pleasantly surprised by the food here. Got the chicken and beef combo for takeout, and have zero complaints. Salad and dressing were great. Side of tempura, great. Chicken and beef with rice, great great. Also comes with a side of spicy teriyaki sauce which is awesome. We called to place an order 20 min before pick up and the food was ready by the time we got there. Take out was easy with two people since we didn't have to find parking, but I can see it being a challenge if you're by yourself due to the limited street parking on quite a busy street. Cute little mom and pop teriyaki spot. All the food I ordered was freshly made (I got the tempura combo and the beef yakisoba). I really appreciated that they gave plenty of shrimp for the tempura and the beef in my yakisoba was flavorful and tender. My 2year old daughter ate it up. The only thing was that the batter for tempura was thicker than I normally like but that is a personal preference. The dipping sauce was tasty. Service was great-- the people behind the counter seemed to be the owners and they were friendly, efficient, and prompt with service. This place looked promising based on reviews. We were wrong. When we walked in we saw that it seemed they had opened up a wall to expand the sitting /dinning area. A section was divided by a whole bunch of boxes. My husband and I both ordered the beef and chicken combos and got the chicken and rice extra side for our 4 yr old. ($40 total) It took them a long time to get us our food and when we got it: 1. It was cold 2. The meat (both the chicken and beef) was very very tough. Even drowning it in sauce didn't help it. 3. The tempura was so cold it was rock hard and tasted gross. 4. The peanut sauce/dressing was yummy (just about the only thing that was) 5. Teriyaki sauce (not sure if it was the spicy one or the regular one cause we mixed them in a failed attempt for better flavor) was salty. Lastly and for me almost as equally important: They have NO RESTROOM! Our little one (4yo) had to use the RR and upon inquring, my husband was told he was going to have to take her down the street to the hotel and ask to use their restroom. Upon leaving I checked the window thoroughly and these was no sign posted about the lack of restroom but there was no sign. I remember Teriyaki me back in 2008 I ordered for the first time while working in Glendale. Loved it then and still love it. They have made it this far even during covid they are still open. Just shows you what persistent service looks like. Almost nothing has changed since. Quality is still there. Just more options now! And the food tastes bomb. Flavor is one of a kind here. No other teriyaki joint compares really. I don't eat meat so salmon and tofu is the way to go. Perfect protein and perfect portions. Can't ever go wrong with their grilled salmon or tofu plates. Slather some teriyaki sauce, total game changer. That's basically it. Good food, that's what you get here. A friend brought me here for dinner one day and I thought it was great. I got a shrimp and beef combo. Both proteins were cooked well. The teriyaki was nice and sweet and the spicy sauce was perfect and flavorful. I brought my husband here a few weeks later and it was definitely nowhere near as good. The inconsistency makes me not want to return, unfortunately. If I lived/worked in the area, for the price point, I'd probably give them another try. But to go out of my way to return? There are a few places in Glendale that do teriyaki that I've tried, most are just ok, but this place is by far the best. I got the chicken/steak combo. Portions are great, especially for the price. Meat was really tasty - not dry, good char, and great flame grilled taste. Tempura was hot and crispy and included a potatoe, onion and shrimp. Salad was just iceberg, but a nice fresh addition to the plate. The sauces were also really good. My plate came with salad dressing, normal teriyaki and spicy teriyaki. The salad dressing is a mustard/kewpie mayo combo that was super tasty, good for dipping tempura in too. Teriyaki and spicy teriyaki were very good as well. I have to admit though I wanted to dine in this eve but was afraid to because they start stacking up the chairs and make you feel very uncomfortable like you are not welcome there around 8:30 to 8:50pm. This was the worst Teriyaki I have ever had. We eat out at least 4 times a week and have Japaese dinners at least once a month. We paid extra for the express delivery. Delivery was 30 minutes late. Omg this place is amazing! I'm from Seattle and we have a fast food teriyaki place pretty much everywhere. Teriyaki places are more rare in Los Angeles and this one is the best place I've been to in LA AND Seattle. The portions are huge! They give you so much rice and meat! It's amazing. Even the salad portion is pretty generous! My favorite is the Ribs Special. You get a ton of BBQ ribs and your choice of dark or white meat chicken teriyaki. The sauce on both are amazing but I would also definitely ask for more teriyaki sauce on the side. Their spicy sauce is amazing too. The food is really delicious! Great food! This is a small little place that was across the street from where we were staying and it was very good with good prices! We got the teriyaki bowl in all the different proteins which is such a good deal and very yummy! I want to support small businesses, but this place is very inconsistent with food quality. I've had some great succulent teriyaki here, but last few visits the meat skewers have been bone dry and hard to enjoy without a ton of sauce (which costs extra). I get the feeling they cook it all at once and just keep it sitting around drying out under heat lamps. The tempura is not made to order either...cold and soggy batter. Perfect amount of char and the salmon was still moist and flavorful. I was charged $3.50 for on soda which is a major rip off plus got changed .75 cents for the transaction fee for not using cash. There is no where to park so you have to pay for parking. The inside sitting area is very tacky how they put a removable wall for the storage room to keep their extra food supplies which is so tacky and low class. The painters were so sloppy there is paint left all over the hardwood flooring which looks so low class. I've lived in Glendale for some time, but have only recently discovered "Teriyaki Me!" When I'm up in Seattle, I'll grab Teriyaki chicken with my mom. That was probably the inspiration for giving this place a try. The lady that has worked the register both times I went is friendly, and I found the food delicious. Along with the Teryaki chicken bowl, I've tried the Gyozo. I'm sure I will be returning here many, many times in the future and will try some other items on the menu. read more
