I knew the problem creatures, called specifically for those, was not given any before service or after service instructions. I wanted to feel like I was on the same team with the technician, instead I received no information from him and actually felt like I was an inconvenience with my questions. After the work was completed I felt like he avoided the mice altogether, had he spent a minute to explain to me I would have known that that was all they do for mice. I am hoping the roaches decrease in a few days, but to date it took 4 days to reach a supervisor and then it was for a different department. Atleast he was helpful and did not disconnect on me when I had a complaint. Unfortunately I have 5 other properties scheduled and wish I did not, but too late to cancel and not be charged. read more

I have used Terminix for at least ten years for both pest control and termite service, and they have recently become awful. I have scheduled multiple termite inspection appointments, and they have been no show for them all! There is no way to talk to a local representative. All phone numbers are answered by a foreign call center, and they will not give you any way to talk to a local person. I am extremely upset because I have termite insurance (which I pay a lot for) and need to have an annual inspection. I may have no other choice than to sue. read more

DO NOT USE TERMINIX! Would give 0 Stars if Yelp did that. After 3 weeks of confirmations, my January 30 fumigation fell thru. Got call at 10:30 am from coordinator that schedule was screwed up. Turns out it was his fault. Had to rush from work to avoid hotel charge. Family and pets already in hotel. $100 hotel for nada. SDGE didn't get gas shut down call, so fumigation wouldn't have happened anyways. Reschedule to Wednesday, February 1. This time tent crew showed but no gas shut off again. Coordinator f-ed up again. Called manager and got $300 discount, but $2,500 for crap, no coordination, and coordinator not good at returning calls. My realtor said many of her clients have similar issues with Terminix. So she is not recommending them any more. Avoid Terminix! read more

Terminix truck ran into my car in the parking lot of a Wal Mart in Eastlake and fled the scene on 1/20/17. Trying to get ahold of someone in their company to answer for this CRIME is a headache. I filed a police report and am currently working with my insurance to solve this. Up until this point "CORKY" the receptionist has been very unhelpful and they seem to be trying to protect this particular driver. We have a witness and there are cameras in the parking lot. they are going to get whats coming to them. Horrible company. CROOKS! I wish i could give negative stars. read more

My landlord hired terminix and I wish he would have taken the time to check reviews on yelp prior. Everything seemed fine and dandy. The rep was a nice guy and we appreciated him explaining everything to us. After the tent was taken down I arrived home to a complete mess of my bedroom. I understand that all droors had to be opened etc.. everything was taken out of my closet and thrown around my room. Chairs were stacked on everything removed and in a pile. My clothes and expensive jackets that were hanging were found on the ground and stepped on. They made no mention of clearing out closet space or I would have happily done it. The insulation from the attic was everywhere. They managed to literally get it everywhere. I couldn't find a single room where the insulataion hadn't be tracked. One of them was nice enough to leave his nasty TERMINIX hat on top of my stack of hats. Hats off to you guys! There's more to it which is expected after reading all the reviews. The window in my room had mud all over the sill and handle as well as a muddy handprint on our new white blinds. The same muddy handprint that was on the handle to my plastic storage closed outside. The lock mechanism was bent and they had detached the wall from the floor and damn near ripped it completely apart. Everything was stacked neatly inside prior to them arriving and now it lookes like it had been gone through. I decided to buy a lock after seeing the guys who were going to be occupying my house in my absence. I would like to think im a good judge of character and this proved my intuitions. I have not observed any missing items yet but im still digging through the carnage as I write this review. My wife and I had just deep cleaned the house prior to there arrival, which was a waste. Last but def not the least... I entered my house 3 hours after the notice of safe entry sign was posted. I was inspecting the wreckage is dismay and my eye were burning horribly and my tounge was on fire. I never get headaches but i would consider this one a migraine. I opened up all the windows and turned my fans on. I felt completly dizzy and nauseous. I left the house and made various calls to see if there was any chance that their metering device which is soposed to read less than 5 parts per million could have given a false reading. Nobody seemed worried at the agriculture commision office but me. My work credit card was out of my nightstand and placed on top. I'll be checking the account religiously. I got another hotel room for the night which I wont be reinbursed for because the landlords place which was also serviced by Terminix seemed fine. Not even going to bother wasting my time complaining to a def woman. Instead I will write reviews and post pics so that others don't make the same mistake as us. Their competition most likey all have houses in La Jolla and are driving Tesla's given the ammount of negative reviews Terminix has. If I were the comp I would pull all my advertising and take all the Terminix guys to lunch! Ha, enjoy the read. Dishonesty is the word for this company. Refer to the post below this one from Fran. It happen to them too and they were 16 years with the company. We are 24 years with the company and were very happy until recently. Few years back they only came 1 once a year and it cost them to repair termite damage. They replaced the wood at their cost. This was the right thing to do. Still happy with them, but not happy they do not schedule their visits to protect from the termite damage. We decided to refinance to a government loan and need terminix to give that report. They came out and said it did not pass!!! The reason they gave was the majority was dry rot and very little termite damage. They estimated 5200. We did not believe that as the eves were always painted and never bare. Unless the damage from years before was not complete. We are still not trusting this as mostly dry rot. So we had our trusted contractor come and give up an estimate. Also say how much termite damage and how much dry rot. 90% termite damage 10% dry rot !!!! Terminix still refused to honor this quote. They wanted to charge the 5200. for the 10% dry rot in my opinion. We were in a crunch for time as the longer this takes the more the loan company charges. We went with our honest contractor. We have the documentation stating it we 90% termite. We contacted John with a written letter...a month later he calls my mother-in-law stating they are not paying. Stating that they reserve the right to do the work. It is not about that...it is about them lying to get out of repairing termite damage that was their fault for not inspecting the home in a timely manner. I will report this to the Sacramento Structural Pest Control Board, the Better Business bureau. Anyone having this same problem message me. Lets get a class action suit going with the dishonest company. Lets get our money back plus damages done affecting so many customers. I had a complete opposite experience than a lot of the posts on here. The person who came out to my house, Paul, was so nice and friendly. I had to leave and go back to work and I felt 100% comfortable with him being in my house. He made sure he knew how to lock up and called me when he was done. Although I was frustrated bc of the ant issues in my house, the whole terminix team really made this process so much more tolerable. The only reason I didn't buy into a contract is bc my HOA takes care of maintenance. If ants ever take over my house again I would have no doubts about calling Paul or terminix again. read more

If you made it to Yelp before hiring Terminix- run!!! Find a different company to work with. We had a rodent problem and had some referrals to call Terminix. The inspector for Terminix was awesome, he sold the job. The rest of our experience with Terminix was anything but professional. It started with the crew not showing up for the first scheduled appointment. Which seems to be a norm for them after reading Yelp reviews. Then I had the task of contacting Terminix to see if they were still coming that day. Contacting your local office branch is a nightmare. The Nationwide call center will not give out the local branch's phone number nor will they connect you, they will only take a message. It took weeks to get the crew out to actually complete our job. The crew did do decent work and so far our rodent problem seems to be fixed. It was just a process calling and calling to get them back out each time to finish the job and they never showed up on time. After the job was finally done, we had an issue with our billing. Terminix placed the account/sent a bill in my name (though we are the tenants) and it was previously discussed before the home owners e-signed the contract that the account and all bills needed to be placed in the owners name. So, the job is finally done, I received a bill in my name and I contact Terminix to let them know of the error and request a new bill with the owners name (the owner needs this for tax purposes). I receive nothing... last week a local Terminix Admin named Michelle calls me, I tell her the situation and that we need a new corrected bill sent, so I can forward it to the owner, she says okay. Today, I come home to our children's Nanny telling us Michelle came to our house and told her we have to start making payments since the bill is in our name and we are liable. I immediately call Michelle, extremely confused as to why she would show up at my house after I had just spoken to her a week prior and I had not received a new bill in the owners name. After speaking with her on the phone Michelle became hostile, she told me they will not switch the account/bill to the home owners name even though I told her I have an email confirmation prior to the owner signing the contract that said that Terminix would place the account in the owners name. Also, I told Michelle there is no reason to come to my home, where my children are and to not come by again. She replied that she will come to my house whenever she wants. What!?!?! Where is the professionalism!!!!? I ended up having to hang up on her. Run from doing business with this company! They are completely unprofessional. read more

I have been using Terminix for my home in Point Loma and am very satisfied with Juan Saldana . HOWEVER... I called the 800 number to schedule for an appointment for a termite inspection because I am selling my North county (Oceanside) home. First you wait on hold for at least 5 to 10 minutes and then you get booked by a call center. Having a major call center is costing this company money. Trying to understand these people as their phone's keep braking up is impossible. I was requesting a Terminix inspection. I had the times secured not once but twice and I told them they could call me sister when they were 10 minutes away. I even received a call back from Dirk who works in the Escondido office. He reconfirmed the second appointment. They were a no show TWICE. What? My sister sat both times waiting for the technician. The excuse I received both times was it got canceled...but not by me and not even a phone call. Clearly by the looks of all the negative posts about this company the Call Center is not working. Try old school use a secretary. The good news is as my sister was leaving for the second no show time, she saw Dewey pest control driving by the house. My sister stopped him just to as for a card. Joe the technician from Dewy noticed her frustration. He went in the house and told my sister he was going to do the inspection at no charge due to our poor response from Terminix. I was shocked. Thank you Dewey Pest control. I would never refer Terminix again. If I wasn't getting such good service from my technician I would cancel my entire service with Terminix. I signed a pest control agreement with Terminix because they were a well-known company. After a huge production to get ourselves, plants, & pets out of the place for the day for the initial treatment, and right-on-schedule quarterly treatments, we were still seeing bugs... I kept trying to convince myself that it would be worse if we didn't have treatments. I finally cancelled their services after they treated my house without an appointment just because it was due, & in spite of my specific request that we always needed to be present to give them access to the enclosed patio that is by far our biggest insect problem area. And now, having gone without any pest treatments for over a year, I can say with certainty that Terminix's treatments made NO DIFFERENCE - none whatsoever! We don't see any more bugs now than we did during their regular treatments. If it wasn't bad enough that they wasted my money for a year, they misspelled my name on every piece of paper they ever gave me (I do have a SLIGHTLY difficult last name BUT I spelled it out very clearly for the customer service rep for just that reason AND gave the technician the correct spelling. I just wish they would stop sending me junk mail OVER AND OVER with my name STILL misspelled trying to get me to sign up for pest control again. Terminix, if you are reading this, STOP IT! Even if your services hadn't been totally useless, I won't return to a company that can't be bothered to spell my name right or correct their mistake when told about it! You managed to charge my credit card so you must have gotten the name right when it was important to you. So, yelpers, my advice: either find a small, local company that still cares about customer service & knows how to treat effectively, or just go to the hardware store,buy a big bottle of pesticide, and treat your place yourself - it will do WAY more good than Terminix, be a LOT cheaper, & at least you know how to spell your own name! read more

If I could give less than one star I would!! We had Terminix come out and treat our home for subterranean termites. Eight months later they did an inspection and there were signs of more termites but they "wanted to be sure" so they scheduled another inspection for a month later. I have had 4 appointments for follow up inspections and each time no one has showed up or called. I've called the office, emailed them, made a request online, asked to talk to a supervisor, etc... Basically they are not honoring their contract. Their customer service sucks!!! PLEASE don't use Terminix - they will only rip you off! read more

I signed up with Terminix back in May and have a warranty if the bugs re appear they will retreat for no charge. Fortunately, they haven't, but they are calling me twice a day and leaving me voicemail reminding me that I have this warranty. I called to ask them to stop calling me and they said they can't take my number out of the system. It's wasting my cell phone minutes and really irritating me. If I needed them, I'D CALL THEM. So, I had them change my contact number they can call and I can ignore all day long. This is REALLY bad customer service. If I ask you to stop calling me, you should really do it. I wish I could give this company NO stars because of their horrible customer service and final result! They were suppose to start on a Monday morning between 8:00-8:30. They called the day before and said that they couldn't arrive until between 9:00-11:00. I said NO I had a doctors appointment at 9:00 and they promised they would be here before I had to leave! The supervisor came out with the employee and said they had to contact SGE because there was a gas leak and we could go to the hotel and they would be in touch. We waited all day and finally the next morning we came back to our house to make sure everything was okay. There was NO tent and nobody had contacted us!!! My daughter called Terminix and they said they left a message on our home phone!?!?! REALLY when they knew we were in a hotel thinking our house was being tented!?!? The supervisor told me he would extend my warranty for an extra year because of the inconvenience I suffered. FORGET IT!!! On Wednesday they finally tented our home and said it could be occupied again on Friday. After paying for a hotel for 4 days we came back on Friday and found our pool supplies all at the bottom of our pool and our bushes were all burned. $3,000 later all I can say is that working with Terminix was a horrible experience and would NEVER recommend this company to anyone! I am a 90 year old widow who had to finance this horrible experience and every month remember it again when I pay the bill!!! I'm glad I didn't read the reviews on Yelp before picking Terminix. Otherwise I wouldn't have gone with them and may have chosen another company. I had Termites. Bought my house from my Dad back in 2008 and have known the house had termites well before that. At the time of the transfer I didn't termite the house due to financial constraints. It was finally time to do it and I had the funds to do it with. Back in 2008 I had several other companies come out and give me an estimate. $1,800 was the average cost to tent the home and the detached garage. Also, included in that $1,800 was dealing with the subterranean termites. I began the process all over again in May 2013 and chose Terminix for their exemplary service. I had several other pest-control companies come and give me an estimate. Terminix was slightly higher. However, I chose Terminix because their team was just better. Jay Mitchell was my inspector and he did the most thorough job I saw out of all the others. The local guy (American Pest Control) didn't even crawl under the house during the first inspection and had to have another guy come and do it several days later. I have my own business and I had to schedule a day off from my store to be at home to meet with all the inspectors. I was dismayed that I would have to stay home another day for the guy to come and crawl under my house. Isn't that what the inspector was supposed to do at the time of the appointment? When the guy did come from American he was supposed to call. Yet... he didn't and just showed up at my house unannounced. He stood at my door with his foot up on the planter. Bewilderment in his voice after I asked about why he didn't call first. "No one told me to call first." was his response. During the initial inspection, Jay spent nearly 2 hours inspecting my house. He was the only inspector that actually went up into the attic and look at every nook-and-cranny on my property. Other things that stood out to me was that he notified me of a piece of wood that had been left under the house during a bathroom remodel when I first bought the house. He said that piece of wood was infected by termites and was like cheese to a mouse. The termites had gone right to that piece of wood and devoured it. He said that leaving the wood laying on the dirt invited the termites and was a problem I could have avoided if the wood had not been left there. Not one of the other inspectors even mentioned that piece of wood under the house. Jay also notified me of severe damage that had been done to my home by the termites in one particular area of the home. He recommended that I have repairs done as soon as possible. Not one of the other inspectors mentioned the damage to my home and that my house is structurally compromised. Also, I wanted to have my house termite tented and treated very quickly. After negotiations I paid $1,900 for Terminix to do the work. American was $600 lower and I still chose Terminix. It's not about the money. Yes... I want to save money but if I was going to spend the money I wanted it done properly. Antac never even followed-up to see if I wanted their service. Follow-up is everything! If you don't even call me back when I want to give you my money, what the hell are you in business for? Jay came to my place of business to finish the paperwork and get the contract signed. Yes... he wanted my business. One company didn't even include the subterranean treatment in the contract for my detached garage. What? The garage clearly had them and I realized then that Terminix was really trying hard to get my business. When the subterranean treatment was done I was very impressed on how thorough the employee was. He spent almost 5 hours doing his job! Wow! Thanks Terminix. It looks like you have taken to heart all the Yelp reviews and have made some changes. Hopefully I won't see Termites again for a long time! read more

All- Please be aware: All Terminix are not individually owned, large corporation. After my year contract ended WITHOUT my notice they continue service for about 20% more per service, without notification and said" I should have read my contract!" I agree, if you give a credit card over the phone to Terminix for service BUYER BE WARE! They will continue service without notifying you, BAD Business. Had they just contacted me and offered to renew my contract they could have gotten an additional $400 in business and a loyal customer, instead they lost the business. One positive is the kid who came to spray at our house was so nice. I would just say before you pay in advance consider your options. read more

I've had Terminix home service for over 10 years. Yesterday my service technician came to perform my quarterly service. My security cameras revealed him sitting in his truck for 40 minutes and only got out to leave me a bill. Then drove away. When the Terminix manager returned my call he was only concerned about getting my service rescheduled. I promptly cancelled my service with Terminix. Since I just got the security cameras I can't prove the tech has done this before. This is fraud. I informed the manager it was fraud. He said I wouldn't have to pay for the service that wasn't performed. That was might big of them. read more

We received a call from the manager wanting to reschedule for another time. I firmly believe that companies should up when the promise to do so. Don't hire Terminix, the company has no infrastructure, no oversight, no follow up. The technicians are nice but their schedules are modified on the whim of the branch manager. There is not one individual at this company who cares about customer service or understands the first thing about professionalism. They put you on hold forever, tell you that they will have someone call you back but never do and after waiting for 30 minutes on hold you get transferred back in the normal queue when I was waiting for a supervisor. It just took me 51 minutes to cancel my service because they never did anything! They charged me $139 to come out once and would not refund the two months that I did not use since it was supposed to be for 3 months. I will tell everyone I know how bad it was and that I couldn't even get a hold of the local representative to cancel and their voicemail was full. What a nightmare. After many calls to them pleading to come fix the problem, not even the managers could ever call back. Horrible! We've had a contract with Terminix for 15 years. Our first tenting experience was fine...however we only had the house covered for one day which we later found out the norm is 2 days. After the initial tenting an inspector came out every year to see if the termites had returned. Each year he said they hadn't. After several years, my husband noticed evidence of them in our attic and asked for the house to be tented again. The inspector convinced us it wasn't necessary and told us to do a heat treatment. A few years after that my husband, note not the inspector once again, noticed they had returned to the attic and spread to a family room wall. We insisted the house be tented. Our inspector made arrangements for the work to take place during a school break 3 weeks after the initial agreement. After spending several days bagging up food etc in our home, we got a message that the treatment needed to take place a day later than promised since another customer had canceled their appointment...this made no sense to me but I agreed. The day prior to our appointment we got another message that the entire tenting was canceled. After spending an hour attempting to get in contact with either my inspector or ANYONE at our local branch, I was finally told they forgot to make arrangements with SDGE to turn off the gas. (Something by the way I mentioned several times to them since the SDGE agent seemed concerned about this when I called to schedule an appointment to have it turned back on.) I became very upset and they suddenly found a way to make the tenting happen. When we returned home we found personal items of the workers as well as 10 clamps left scattered around our yard. On checking the roof my husband found 5 more clamps, 20 broken tiles, and 2 broken vents. We were made aware that some damage to the roof was inevitable since they were walking on it...but really! I'm sure they could have avoided the vents and at least some of the tiles. We are now out $500 for repairs. We have canceled our service contract with them and caution anyone from using this company. My daughter got bed bugs from Las Vegas and freaked out when she got home after seeing them and getting a rash from them. I called Terminix on Monday morning to come inspect. They were supposed to check their schedule and call me back to let us know how soon they could come out. An hour went by and no call. I called them back and finally set an appt for that evening between 6-8 Pm. They never showed or called? We called back the next morning and got another appt for the same time, 6-8 pm. They never showed again!!?? After calling and not getting through at 8:30 pm, we called back the next morning. They finally sent someone out around noon. Horrible scheduling and management! After an $800 quote to remove them and not getting any kind of discount for the inconvenience or hassle, we decided to go elsewhere! Never again will I call Terminix. read more

If you own a home don't use Terminix pest control. I have spiders in my home the size of silver dollars and can not get the pest vendor to come to my home. Even after I explained that I have an infant and a toddler in the home that I am very concerned for. I have caught two of the spiders and asked only that the vender responds to tell me if they are poisonous or not and Terminix showed no concern form my self or my family.
