My husband kept his little round chip set on green for most of the meal, and servers came round to carve up all sorts of different meats for him- lamb, beef, chicken, pork and even sausage. I sampled a little of the lamb and beef. Good stuff, but I've had better. I was a bit astounded to see the bill- the salad bar costs only $3 less than the whole experience. We had a great time at Texas de Brasil. Saturday night --which is a big night--- was still only about thirty minutes for walk-ins. Still, get reservations so you don't have to wait in the heat. Everything here had a higher level of finesse than we see in the churrascaria chains in so cal. We will come back. Yes I realize that this is a meat 'n fire place but the salad / starter bar was high quality ---well above what I expected from the ones in Calif. So much so that we, the carnivore family, would be happy coming in once in a while to make a meal of the salads and apps alone. They are that good. I really think it started with our waiters judgment of how I look and perhaps how I was dressed. If my wallet works who cares that I have on shorts and a T-shirt. This ain't a collar required joint. I've eaten here plenty of times and never been treated so poorly. From the time we sat down all the way through the meal, it just sucked. My wife went to the rest room to wash up and came back and said the ladies room was disgusting. She told a "manager" who said he would get it taken care of immediately. After our salad bar visit, which as always was amazing, it was time for the meat!!! Well we don't all like the way they prepare it and sometimes like a cut well done. She asked two diff meat cutters (idk what the fancy name for them is) for well done and like they do told her they would be back with well done servings. Never seen them again!!! One after another it seemed like they were reheated pieces of various types of steaks that were all dry and tough. The only good option we had was beef short ribs that seemed freshly cooked and were tender and juicy. Waitress came back and asked if we needed anything else and we asked for more ribs. 20 minutes later she comes backs and asks if we needed anything else and we said we're still waiting for ribs and she said "they haven't brought them out yet?" And went back into the kitchen area. Came back a few minutes later and said sorry the kitchen is closed. My significant other and I have been coming to this Texas de Brazil on and off for anniversaries for about 10 years. Last year it was a so-so experience but this year will be our last. The restaurant seating areas and the salad bar have undergone decorative changes that appear more neon and slick than high class. The salad bar has changed from everything placed thoughtfully around one square centerpiece to clear sneeze guards around a smaller central island and some off to the side. Whether food items had labels on them was hit or miss and some had obviously been sitting out for a while. The flow was confusing and people kept bumping into one another as there was no clear or natural flow to how you should proceed around the bar. There were no spoons at the soup area and since your silverware is removed with your plate, I had to ask for a spoon on two occasions. Our server, Tyler was very attentive and I would give him 5 stars. He apologized that the bread was not ready but would be bringing it out when it was. It took until after our salad bar trip and a few meat services for the bread to arrive and when it did, it wasn't baked all the way through and warm, raw dough was left in the middle. Bananas and mashed potatoes eventually came as well. When we did receive clean plates for our meats, mine had 3 very large chips in the plate, my significant other's was fine. The meats were very disappointing. They were overly salted last year and I had hoped this would not be the case in 2019. Unfortunately this still seems to be common practice. Is it to make people fill up more on water and less on meats? Who's to say? Unfortunately the main meats of the meal were something to be dreaded and not looked forward to, hence the second trip to the salad bar to substitute the remainder of the meal. For two tap waters and two dinners, the ticket came to just over $100. We had a gift card, but I'm not sure that we would have chosen to come here for our anniversary otherwise. It's hard to explain how a buffet can be served to you without ever having to actually get up. I've been here at least five times and it's a little pricey about 45 bucks a person. But the experience it's well worth it. If you don't feel like being overwhelmed with a whole lot of meets being served to you all the time you could also choose just the salad bar for $25. So I know why you're asking if everything was great why are you giving it four stars instead of five? My reasons have to do with details.. Some examples were the salad bar items were mislabeled and the China was really cheap China and the silverware is not of high-quality. So, you wonder why I'm giving it four stars instead of five. The answer is that I prefer looking at the details as being more important than simply the food itself. I did not like that some of the tables were covered with tablecloths because some of the tables were like cabin tables and the ones that were covered with tablecloths while nice were not the right table for the restaurant. Service was fantastic needless to say as food continuously comes to your table and people are always attending to you and making sure that you have everything you need. And my picky. Yes. But the reason is that I expect things to be first class and that means from A-to-Z not mislabeled salad items or having someone who doesn't speak English try to tell me that what's on the salad bar is Parmesan cheese because he doesn't speak English. The server was running late with the sides and when I asked her to bring them She said "ACTUALLY" I was just going to get them. Where some restaurants use their 'salad bar' as filler, Texas de Brazil offers numerous delicious selections including lobster bisque, artichoke hearts, sausage, salmon, scalloped potatoes, salami, and cheese among other things. You could make an entire meal out of the gourmet salad bar. While the meat selection here is slightly less than I have seen elsewhere, there are plenty of superior options. The tenderloin and filet are amazing and the bark on the flank steak has a great flavor. Parmesan pork, leg of lamb, rack of lamb, bacon wrapped chicken breast, and chicken legs are just a few more of the tantalizing options. The service on Sunday afternoon was very quick and attentive. Water was filled and new meats were brought before you knew it. We felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Of course, the one understandable detraction is the price. You are essentially going to spend $50 per person regardless of how much you can eat. Everyone should be able to find something there...but don't get too full! The meat is coming! You come here to eat meat. If you aren't a fan of steaks and other protein-y delights, this isn't really the place for you. You'll have to figure out the best pace for eating and accepting meat so that you can avoid tapping out too quickly. Both lunch and dinner service is great in this regard, but the main difference between the two is the presence of filet mignon on the menu. Filet is the only thing I've noticed missing from the lunch meat list vs the dinner. Wine selection is amazing and beer choices are decent too. For Easter Sunday brunch, we decided to go to the Texas de Brazil with its unlimited quality meat. We like to go a couple of times a year. It's not cheap, but the quality is superb. For Easter, the price was $42.99 (which included the salad bar, meat, dessert, and a mimosa). First we started with the "salad bar," which included salad, crab bisque, various cheeses, salami, bacon, eggs, sausage, potatoes au gratin, shrimp, asparagus, and this list goes on and on and on. I avoided the salad and tried to keep the other things to a minimum as to not spoil by meat appetite. They also bring you mashed potatoes, parmesan rolls which melt in your mouth, and plantains to cleanse your palate between your meats. You have a token on your table, and when you are ready to eat, you flip it from red to green. They bring a constant supply of perfectly seasoned and cooked meat. I had parmesan chicken, parmesan pork, chicken wrapped in bacon, filet mignon wrapped in bacon, lamp chops, leg of lamb, top sirloin, BBQ ribs, and their speciality which I think is another garlic sirloin. And you can have as much as you want. I had as much as I could stand and then some. I ate till my stomach hurt. Dessert was included in the meal price, so I got a carrot cake to go. Texas de Brazil is very good. The "salad bar" of tasty sides is a restaurant by itself and is highly recommended, take a few trips to get all the goods or opt for the "salad bar only" option of you are not a carnivore at half the price. Unfortunately the rest of this meat lover's experience did not put me in the mind of South America. Service was good, albeit a bit dramatic, borderline silly, "I bring you meat ...on a sword!!" Presentation aside, a restaurant is primarily about food and flavor. The dominant flavor I detected at Texas de Brazil was salt. Take it easy guys, these aren't soft pretzels. I have never been so thirsty after a meal. I do recommend Texas De Brazil at least once, it is a handsome and fun restaurant. Some of the meets were pretty good especially the fillet mignon wrapped in bacon and just the fillet without any special wrapping! The ribs were really good but the lamb was not cooked well enough, so it was rubbery. It did not look appetizing because it was unevenly cooked. The lamb chops were hard to eat because they just tasted weird, they weren't seasoned right at all but I'm not a huge fan of all-you-can-eat anything, I think it's a disgusting American habit. Wear loose fitting clothes, or sweat pants, and prep for a meat coma afterwards. Luckily, when I come here for work, I have an hour or two to nap after lunch at this spot before I have any work I need to get back to. Salad bar - off the hook., Legit, one of the biggest "salad" bars I've seen, topped with mac and cheese, all KINDS of assorated cheeses, sushi, grilled veggies, soups, rices, etc. Meat. Meat. Meat. Everywhere. Flip my marker on green and keep it come kids, JoJo's in the mood to nosh.
