mary was a nice server, connor was helpfully on questions about store hours. we came at opening, my mother mentioned that the restroom had not been swept, not sure i know what that means, but thought i would share. Our food was delicious for the price point. They provided sweet rolls while we waited to order - delicious. i had the 8oz New York strip, with a small bowl of chili and a baked sweet potato. the steak was cooked as ordered, medium well. They even have a description of what to expect based on the doneness that you ordered. my mother had half rack of ribs, highly recommended by her friends. It was great recommendation. The variety of wine and hard liquor selection is limited, but the wine was comparatively well priced. 9ish dollars for 6 oz, and $3 more for 9 ounces. The ambiance for seating density was pretty good.

The wait is not that long.. we came here as walk in's 2x on our 1week stay that started in Bozeman, went down to Yellowstone, then to Idaho for UTV riding and then to Jackson Hole WY to go see the Teton National Park. It was nice to walk around the local shops while we waited and then afterwards to work off those delicious carbs. Thin crust pizzas clean, fresh, not heavy and seasonal ingredients. The crust is soooo good. Chewy and some char. We had: Montana Burger Royale My teen son dreams about this. Yes its 27.00 and he said its the BEST burger he's ever had. I would have to agree (and we live in Austin TX where there's great cow) -the burger meat melted in your mouth -the egg dripping as you break the yolk was perfection. The bacon so juicy, the brioche bun (that was the winning touch) We shared: Hot Honey Pizza- so good 9/10 Spicy Burrata- also great. 8/10 Mac n cheese- that was the only miss. Way under seasoned and the white sauce seemed to get sucked up by the pasta so the dish was super dry. 3/10 Frites and Fondue- fries were great. Thick cut with finely shaved pecorino. Could have used a heaping more of the shaved cheese. -the fondue was ok, seemed still under seasoned or just not creamy enough? I'd swap that for some roasted garlic with the truffle oil. 6/10 Local brews and ciders were great! 9/10 Huckleberry Cheesecake 9/10 save room for this bad boy. We split it between 4 people. Not too sweet. Tart and delightful! The world cup was on the TV so it was a hopping place even as it rained during a late June evening. Parking garage nearby is free for 2hrs so thats cool! Come DT BZN and support local!

When we came in at around 4pm, there seemed to be plenty of tables available but after an hour, the place quickly filled up. Vibes/Service: Parking lot in the back and it seemed there was some street parking available as well. Many, many tables available with bar seating as well. It can certainly fit a larger group. Great service from our server. Checked on us often and filled up our waters. Food: Because it was our first meal here, we wanted to try out their staple dishes. -Bison Potstickers ($16): 5 pieces topped with mango and garlic chili sauce and served with some coleslaw. Rich and filling, paired well with the sauce. Would order this again! -Bison Patty Melt ($22): it was my first time eating Bison, the waiter suggested medium rare. It looked more red than I usually like but it actually was juicy and tasty-- I guess this is the difference between a regular beef patty. I'd also order this again. -Served with pepper parmesan fries which was so uniquely food. Fries were fresh. -Huckleberry Cream Ale ($8/pint) paired well with my meal.

The food is pretty good-- the meat definitely tastes different here in Montana. Our server was very helpful and explained the menu very well. Would be a good spot for a date night. I was eating solo and was seated really quickly. It was a while before anyone came up to the table to start taking my order. I was going to go with a lower rating, but they redeemed themselves enough. I went pretty simple, a bacon cheeseburger and fries. I did opt for bison since I had never eaten it. My waitress, once she came to the table, was incredibly nice and did check in a few times - not overly so like some can do. I appreciated that. I did order the burger medium and it came out medium well to well, but I attribute that to bison cooking quicker and it really didn't matter to me anyway. Burger was good. Fries were good. I contemplated dessert, but the cookie they serve with the ice cream is oatmeal, but I was told they have a brownie and ice cream option. Sign me up! The waitress brought it out a little later, the brownie nice and warm. It was good. No complaints. This place is t great, but it is good and the food is less expensive than some of the options I had around here. I'd definitely go back if I am in the area again. I might even have to try to get some bison meat at home.

Fairly noisy w the NCAA Championship being displayed on the screens. I would definitely come back to try the other items in the menu when back in town visiting!

Enjoyed my filet with potatoes & carrots. Potatoes au gratin could have had a bit more salt. All in all, fabulous dish. Honorable mention for the Here Kitty Kitty tequila drink & Prairie Pot-Pie which just melted with each bite. I can't say enough good things about 1864. Additionally, our server Torren was wonderful. They did not reserve a booth and did nothing to recognize the occasion. We then had to wait over an hour for food. The appetizers were good - tartare and yellowtail - but the entrees were absolutely dreadful. (How do you screw up a hamburger?) We gave them another shot last night and waited 15 minutes to even get approached for a drink, and no one came over. So we left and went to Stockman's (excellent!) 1864 is great venue that is entirely wasted.

I ordered the Mixed Green Salad which was good and did not have too much vinaigrette. I also ordered Sauteed Vegetables, which turned out to be broccolini and asparagus, Madeira Glazed Mushrooms, and Crispy Brussel Sprouts, which turned out not to be vegetarian because I didn't notice the last ingredient was pancetta. All the sides were excellent, especially the Brussel Sprouts which many people were complimenting. My son ordered the Dry Aged American Wagyu NY 14 oz. He wanted to order medium rare but the server suggested getting medium because he said the medium rare is very close to rare. However, the medium turned out to be closer to medium-well done. Still, my son very much liked the flavor of the steak though the sear wasn't that good. We also tried the Truffle Fries, which I couldn't stop eating. The person who ordered the Truffle fries said his Steak Frites weren't that good because they were a little overcooked and he thought the cut they used was probably a cheaper one. I thought the service was excellent and very friendly. The restaurant itself is very nice looking and appealing. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dining experience.

The food and drinks were excellent, but the highlight of the night was Trent. We were looking for recommendations on things to do in the area, and Trent absolutely delivered. Scenic drives, sightseeing spots, Yellowstone stops, local attractions--you name it, he had a recommendation for it. The suggestions were coming faster than we could write them down, and every time we thought he was done, he'd remember three more places we needed to see. His food and cocktail recommendations were spot on, and he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. As an added bonus, his voice carries exceptionally well, so hearing all of those recommendations was never an issue, even on a busy Friday night. Copper is a great spot, but Trent is what made the experience memorable. Food and service was pretty average - we like to order an adult beverage before dinner and peruse the menu. We were told the bar was backed up so we should get our food order in. So, not a take-your-time kinda place. Not rude, but not chill. Shared a 1/2 portion wedge salad @ $12 - perfect for two and tasty. Main entrees were a bit disappointing: 8 oz Tenderloin Filet @ $54 was cooked a bit more than requested and it came with (2) baked potatoes which we've never seen before (+ $4 upcharge). The Pan Seared Trout @ $34 was prepared nicely but there is not any flavor; served w/ a Blackberry BBQ but very sparingly. Super bland. Would come back to visit the bar - would consider ordering a burger, but wouldn't return for the main entrees.
