Texas Roadhouse is a favorite place for my family and we have eaten at numerous locations in several states. I arrived at this location on a Friday night hoping to get a decent meal while working away from home. What I got was an experience that I hope to see repeated at other Texas Roadhouse locations when I visit. I was taken to my booth by a young lady whose name I did not catch but she was polite and friendly asking if I had visited before and if I was familiar with Texas Roadhouse. Her thoughtful questions were a welcome experience compared the usual, "Please follow me" seating routine. My server was Kelsey G. and she was very polite. She offered suggestions about the menu when asked and didn't seem like she was rushing me even though she had other customers to serve. I was VERY impressed at how the entire team of servers worked together to help each other. While Kelsey took my order and continued to check on me, parts of my meal were delivered by other servers. Each server was a smiling, friendly face who ensured the item they were delivering was what I was expecting. The Floor Manager, Allison, stopped by my table to thank me for visiting this location. The conversation didn't feel like an assigned stop to greet the customer before moving on to the next table, it felt like an honest thank you for my patronage. Another server who I felt stood out was a young lady named Eris. She was serving a booth near me but delivered part of my order. She made sure that I was satisfied with my order when she delivered it. Kelsey came by a couple minutes later checking to make sure everything was delivered, and I was satisfied with the food. The food was hot, fresh and tasted good. I should've took a picture, but I ate everything before I thought about it. The level of service from the staff made me feel like I was the sole focus of the whole team on that side of the building even though I observed them treating other tables with the same level of care. The group I had the pleasure of being served by exceeded my expectations tremendously. And the amazing thing to me was that I watched them give this level of service to every table around me. I like Texas Roadhouse because the service is usually better than other comparable chains but I have to say that this is the single best dining experience I have had at any Texas Roadhouse. Impressive is an understatement. I'm sure Texas Roadhouse expects a high level of service from all their staff but this group of servers not only nailed it, they blew past the expectations to a superior experience for myself and others. read more

This place went from being excellent to just ok. That is with the food and the service. Our server Jess acted as if we were a problem to her. She brought out cold chili twice and we kept have to ask for the same thing several times before she brought it. Its not that hard to remember that we need silverware or if we asked for lemon wedges. Had to ask another server several times because we didn't see Jess anywhere for an extended period of time. She just had that " Yeah whatever, who cares" attitude. As for the food, we got everything warm except for the chili, only the bowl was was but not the food inside it. We were 5 people but they kept giving us 4 of everything. Had to ask multiple times for more bread and silverware as they kept leaving one person out. We got 3, 8oz Ny strip steaks with 2 sides each. The kids got ranger steaks with one side. I'm so shocked this location doesn't have a higher rating. We came on New Year's Day and it was PACKED! The guy who took us to our table explained they were not expecting it to be so busy. Our server was super friendly and our food came out so fast and was delicious! We had one of the managers even come by to check on us. My family and I come here about 2-3 times a month and the service never fails us. The wait time for a table is never that long no matter how busy they appear to be. The wait staff is always on point and food is always great. Bring a parka though, this restaurant is always cold. read more

I had there early bird special Chicken fried chicken. I wouldn't call it great in fact I would say it was mediocre at best two greasy not much flavor. The salad was good and the French fries. It's at the bar watching the Georgia game and the bartender was great. Little busy especially during the game day. I would not recommend sitting at the bar unless you're watching TV because it's a little bit crowded. I had eaten there a couple weeks ago and had their steak and I was phenomenal picked one out when I came in and everything was great in the service was perfect. My wife and I are frequent visitors of Roadhouse. This one was the worst we have ever been to. To start off the hostess at the front told us that there was no more seating and had to wait after she seated a party of 4+. i looked out into the restaurant and there were 10 tables that I saw opened, we waited over 15 minutes to be seated. After being seated my wife ordered her normal bone in ribeye, she always orders Her's well done, when the steak arrived the first thing, we noticed was that the steak was cut at an angle, thick at the bone and thin sliced at the end, when my wife cut into her steak towards the thick bone area the steak was rare, so she sent it back to be cooked properly, when the steak came back it was well done but did not have any new grill marks on the steak, the steak was tough to chew, the steak was actually microwaved instead being put back on the grill, thankfully they did remove it from the cost since my wife could not eat the steak but only the waitress kept coming over to say sorry, not once did the manager come over and apologize. We did leave the waitress a good tip but we will not go back to this Roadhouse never again, customer service is not here thats for sure. read more

Every single visit to Texas Roadhouse has been a delight!!! From initial greeting to the service, to the meal and finally the goodbye! The meal: I can't recommend their beef tip meal enough (especially if you're hungry for something meaty!) Be prepared, the portions are huge! The service: the manager has executed on every single thing at this location! I've visited when it was very full of customers or not many customers at all and the experience remains the same! Just excellent! The servers are very kind, and attentive, but not overly in your space! And if you're lucky enough to witness the Texas roadhouse dancers while you're there... Great central location to Buford and the Mall of Ga! Got there around 9pm on a Friday and the place was loud and bumping with music and conversation! The host sat us immediately and grabbed fresh rolls from the kitchen window as we were going to our table and our serve was Mary! Mary was very quick and on point with her service. I ordered the Road Kill plate with mashed potatoes and green beans. My husband order the country fried sirloin with fries and mash. Our food came out fast and it was very good! The green beans did have bacon, which really elevated the flavor but I might have passed on if I had read the menu correctly. The service was great and the atmosphere was perfect! Haven't eaten here in quite a while. Not for any particular reason or terrible experience, just haven't. Started with a bowl of chilli and it was good. Overall it was fine. Had a New York strip and it could have been more tender, especially since a strip usually is, but it was cooked to the correct temperature which was nice. The green beans as one of my sides were ok but have had better. I sat at the bar and the highlight was Raegan. She was super sweet and gave good service. I'm sure I'll go back again a bit sooner next time and hope she's still there and working. And maybe take a broader look at the menu options since if I eat at a steak place I normally go with a strip. read more

This place is sadly going downhill. I've taken my family here regularly for about three years. It's our celebration spot. We go here for birthdays and business wins. And we go for one main reason, one that we have raved up and down to our family and friends, they really know how to take care of families with small kids. Our experience has been excellent. Over the years, their staff and system has made dining out with babies and toddlers easy. We walk in and it's as if they took a weight off our shoulders. Yes, the food is okay. It's not going to win any awards, but that's not the point. The point is my wife and I aren't stressed out. Well, unfortunately that's no longer the case. This is due to very poor training of staff and process issues. I'll first cover the very immediate, easily fixable problems and then explain the very terrible experience we had tonight and how it was poorly handled. The past few times we've visited this year, we've had to ask for a high chair... while I'm standing holding a baby who obviously needs one. A well trained host/ess would ask if we needed it, or just bring one. They don't anymore. Napkins. They only have pathetic little cocktail napkins. Kids are super messy, and a brittle tiny napkin lasts a single use. I know this idea sounds silly, but this establishment would probably save money buying a larger, higher quality paper napkin that lasts longer than handing a stack of insultingly useless paper squares. Food pacing and table busing is nonexistent. There's no common sense to pacing the food. If we're lucky we get 5 minutes to taste our app before the salad arrives, after two bites there's our food. And you have plates upon plates, but you can't use the whole table because our baby has a no fly zone (any thing in arms reach is theirs...). And the wait staff doesn't seem to be aware of this, or at all aware that we have a special problem with all these plates. They don't ask to remove extra plates. There's little to no regard for bussing during the meal. Which makes for a very stressful dining experience. Tonight was kinda the last straw for me. I took my toddler son to the restroom. And unfortunately the family restroom was locked. So I check the men's room and someone's already in the stall. So I decide to go back to plan A and wait for the family restroom to open up. When it does, a single employee emerges. I know this will sound made up, I'm just standing there holding my son's hand, and she walks out and says "The men's room is over there." Let's let that sink in. A single employee, without any additional family members, exits the family restroom and tells me where the Mens room is. I was shocked. All I could say was "I know that, I have a toddler." And led my boy in. I talked to the manager about this, but no effort was made to make this right. I don't want you to have to talk to your employees. I want a carefree dining experience where I get to celebrate with my family. Sadly I have to find a new celebration spot. We won't be raving any more. Most likely I'll just tell this story. read more

It was Tuesday and my kids read the sign/banner says "kids night Tuesday, get free toys" got excited but they had no toy, told they've run out of toys long time ago and never got more. I was actually surprised at the food, it was pretty good, especially for the price. The service, not so much. The chili was very very good, I might come back for that! The steak was good, not amazing but it was $19! Mashed potatoes and buttered corn also good. Everything is quite salty, just a heads up. They got the kids Mac and cheese right and just used normal Kraft! When they bought my sons food out they handed it to me and didn't tell me the plate was HOT. Ouch! Going downhill slowly. When it first opened it was pretty decent for this genre of food. Went probably every 4/5 weeks. Over the last year and a half, maybe every 6 months, maybe. Went this week and the chicken fried sirloin was very overcooked and m knowledge tells me it is breaded, then frozen and thawed on day of use which hurts the presentation and flavor, especially when it is overcooked. Buttered corn was great as was the salad and Sidney was a great server but it couldn't overcome the flavor of the chicken fried sirloin. It will be a long time before I forget and go back. read more

The ribs here was great! I love my chicken tenders, but my gravy was over cooked so the mashed potatoes was not smooth. Overall the customer service was great, and welcoming. My server was a pro because she was managing a couple of tables and a packed bar! 10/10. Will dine again. read more

This location is my least favorite out of others I've been to. Texas Roadhouse is a chain but there are only four locations in Georgia. I've gone to a chain in Gaitlinburg too. The staff at the Buford location is what is making me not like this location that much. They are really slow and the food took forever to come out. The table next to us came after us and got their food before us. Our waitress was nonexistence too. She seem really busy. I give her that, she's friendly enough to do her job, she seemed preoccupied and not attentive. There are no menus. You have to scan to get the menu on your phone. No lie. I get it. COVID. My husband and I thought we could beat the crowds and get an early dinner on NYE. We were surprised at how packed the parking lot was already. We did not have a long wait. Ordered the double pork chop and was served 2 overly cooked loins. The server was very nice and we sent the less of the two pork chops back to the kitchen. Even though I kept on asking about the sent back chop, it was only delivered to the table as we were paying the bill. To add to this calamity, the pork chop hardly looks done. She had a great steak medium with baked potato and Half n Half Tea. I enjoyed my fall of the bone ribs with seasoned rice with a glass of Josh Cellars Cabernet. We had to raise our voices to talk over the din in this packed and raucous place. But that's the energy you get at this Texas Roadhouse that's great to see and experience in this Covid Era. I don't really review food, but I had to share. The image below really speaks for itself. I got one of the burgers (well done) with a side of Mac n cheese. This is just store bought Mac n cheese... The burger was extremely dry and mind you it wasn't even well done bc there was still some pink to it so how it was physically able to be dry truly astounds me. The bread rolls were goated tho. This was the most rediculous Experience My family and I ever had. So much so that we have repeated this story to everyone we know. My wife orderd the stake we always get. the sirloin for her and I. My daughter says I will have the same and orders a take out meal for her boyfriend. We all get our steaks and my wife's and mine are pretty rare. We send them back and they put the same steaks on the grill. Earlier the waitress comes to our table with someone else's dirty plates and reaches for my salad while I am still eating. By the time the steaks come back my daughter is almost done eating. The manager ask if the strakes are okay. I am liking at our steaks and wondering if either one of us are going to be able to choke it down cause it is way over cooked. What should we do . I say it's fine want to enjoy my time with my family. Later we are going to pay our bill and the paypal doesn't go through as the amount changed. We look at the bill and it says we got the Dallas Filet. We tell the waitress that the order was wrong. She implies that it is what we ordered and the manager is not going to do anything about it. My wife gets mad and says yes they will. The first manager one of 4 this evening. She goes on and asked if the waitress repeated the order and states that she did when she brought me my burnt steak . My wife took two bites and hide the rest. Claimed all the taste was sucked out of the steak. I explained I was paying attention to even if I could eat the steak and I know what we always order. We used to eat there about once every other week. Always got the 14 dollar sirloin steak. After that they went and got another manager the same thing Did the waitress repeat the order. We did not recall that she did or not. We simply explained that is not what we ever order. We never even knew about the Dallas Filet. It matters and k if it does don't know what to tell you we are talking about 16 dollars. Then add up our bills over a course of a year. You're losing money if we walk. Guess you don't care . I asked for corporates phone number. The third manager told me call them but it just goes back to us. next the store owner comes out he ask the same thing did the waitress repeat the order. By this time you would think this would be an internal issue. Eric was his name then starts with my wife oh is this your sister talking about our daughter and what does this nice young man do for a living. This is getting so bizarre and embarrassing for Texas Roadhouse. He finally says I'll take the 16 dollars of our bill. I will look for you next time you come in. My daughter later remembers that she did repeat the salad dressing only. Blue cheese, ranch, and one with no eggs. Never ever said anything about the steaks. Despite this we went to leave the tip and the discount of 16 dollars was there. The Tip amount we almost left was on a higher price. This is so bizarre. We never experienced anything like this. We will never go back to this establishment over 16 dollars . This made all our blood pressure go up and it was a terrible bizarre experience. This doesn't deserve a one star. read more

Customer service was phenomenal, as always. They must train them well! We were also lucky to find 2 seats at the bar bc otherwise, it may have been an hour wait around 6:30pm on a Friday night! Hurricane drink-very sweet, but it was good (I've had with and without the extra shot & like it either way). Next time, I might try a Peach Fuzzy or just get Sweet Tea. I might get a Veggie plate next time. 4 sides $9.99 Salad (Love! Remember to ask for no onions, tomatoes, or cheese) Baked potato (no cheese, but add bacon!) Corn (Loved the most!) Chili (Haven't tried it yet) $12.99 Fried catfish-3 huge pieces! It seemed like so much breading but seasoned well & was perfect for breakfast the next morning bc I was full of the bread & honey butter & sides! Reviewing this place almost seems silly. They are already so busy. My family and I have eaten at a Texas Roadhouse more times than I can count. Truly, one of the most consistent restaurants you'll find. Staff is always friendly and relatively efficient, and food is very good. It's also a good value. The only thing that prevents the 5th star, is the loud atmosphere. Most folks don't mind. For me, it just takes something away from the dining experience. I suppose it's a little unfair of me. I'm here with my two toddler grandsons. Lol. I do highly recommend this place for good food. I've never been disappointed. read more

My first time ever eating at a Texas Roadhouse. I was wondering what the rave was about and it was just "meh." Just another average chain restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive. However my dish didn't deliver until way later than everyone. And all I ordered was loaded French fries. If she had been honest about her screwing up the order, I would have been understanding. But no, she kept saying "oh the kitchen is still working on it!" How long does it take to cook up a batch up fries and dump cheese and bacon on it? My dish was good. I really really like Texas Roadhouse. The Buford, GA location was recently opened. We went to this location for Fathers day 2019. Packed! Long wait. 1 hour 15 minutes to be exact. Our server, can't remember her name was pretty good in handling a party of 8 that was somewhat needy. I was pleased that I didn't have to complain about anything. Porterhouse medium well was cooked just right and seasoned to perfection. I always get the house salad as my side. I got a loaded baked potato. Drink was unsweetened tea with peach and mango flavoring. 4 stars because my food was right and didn't have to pitch a fit. read more

We first tried Texas Roadhouse during a trip to Asheville in May 2021 and were blown away by house good it was: Service, Quality, Taste, Price. So impressed that upon returning home, we immediately went to the one in Buford (though others had advised us against). We have tried it twice now and will find another location before trying again. Visit one: Just had appetizers because had a craving. Got Chili, Grilled Shrimp, Cheese Sticks, Rattlesnake bites. (Not seeing cheese sticks on their online menu now but was just a few weeks ago). Shrimp and chili ok, Cheese sticks cold and greasy, rattlesnake bites (my craving) were sent back. In Asheville, they had been hot, flavorful and dripping with cheese. In Buford, they were cold, cheese had solidified and was curdled (weird looking texture of white and yellow when breaking it open). 2nd visit. Had entrees (Burgers, Rib) and cheese sticks again. Could not bring myself to try the rattlesnake bites again. Burger ok, cheese sticks were cold, greasy and hollow (obviously exploded in fryer as cheese was on the outside. Those were sent back after one bite. The ribs seemed to have no sauce at all and were bland for me so waited to get some sauce. The sauce was very vinegary (pucker worthy) when I got and not a taste I liked. Not dinging for the sauce as others may like and I don't know if that is what it should taste like. Service 1st time: Very busy but good. Did not have to wait for anything. Service 2nd time: No menu was delivered when we were sat. It was 10+ minutes before server appeared and we were about to walk out even though we had waited 45 minutes to get in. Had to ask for a menu and then wait many minutes more. The ribs were ice-cold by the time I could get sauce for them. My husband was almost done with burger before server showed back up after delivering food. Had not delivered or offered condiments with meal so no ketchup or salt until then. Drink refill happened once at sauce delivery. We saw him nearby a few times but wouldn't look towards table to even flag down. We did not notice until after leaving that we still ended up paying for the cheese sticks returned. Overall: Standards at this location are just not there - in food or service. read more
