I went there with my mom and her friend. My mom and I both ordered a six ounce medium rare steak. The only difference was that I ordered mushrooms on mine. The difference between my steak and my mother's was staggering to say the least. Mine was fantastic. But my mom's? Disgusting. Looked more like well done with a slight line of pink. I tasted a bite of hero's and YUCK! It was so dry. I'm so confused. How can two steaks ordered almost the same way be so different? My mom's friend told her to send it all back. She told us no and ate it anyway, even going as far as saying the food was good when the waiter asked if everything was ok. I don't get it either, but I know what I tasted. P.S. Same service I have learned to expect from Texas Roadhouse. It's rare that it would disappoint me. The wait was non existent, we were able to walk right in at 630pm. This location has provided outstanding customer service and has exceeded our expectations with regards to a few hiccups that have happened. I understand we are all human and there are some hiccups but they've always gone above and beyond. One time, It wasn't even their fault but a customer parked way too close and I couldn't get out. I am so glad to be able to write a good review about roadhouse. We stopped coming here a few years ago because we just couldn't get a good steak. They were always being over cooked and tough. We decided to give it a try after a bad experience at the joliet outback location. The food here was so good the sirloin was cooked perfect and seasoned great and the smothered chicken was the best chicken i have had in a long time. The service was outstanding. Mikayla was on top of it with refills and checking on us. She was very friendly and helpful. We will defintely visit again soon! read more

My dining experience yesterday was horrendously terrible. My 1st issue, I was seated in the very back of the restaurant, in only what I will call the segregated section, due to every party that was seated was of ethic decent. This is the 21st century! 2nd, The catfish was extra hard that had no flavor whatsoever. Was it even catfish? Finally, my appetizer & salad, the onion blossom was a mountain of grease, and the salad, if you can call it that, the tomatoes were the size of dimes and it was more red cabbage than anything else. This whole experience was terrible. PS. I did forget my drink, The Porch Rocker---it was supposed to be peach, laughable it was nothing but seltzer water with a cherry at the bottom of the glass!!!!! read more

We have eaten at this location many times. We are usually satisfied with food and service. Tonight was much the same but with a small hiccup. Our server worked her rump off. It was an extremely busy night. Our group of 7 ordered steaks with varying degrees of temperature. Two came out overcooked. My son chose not to have his recooked because he was absolutely starving. They comped his meal. The manager did apologize and have the other steak recooked with acceptable speed. It just stinks when everyone else has finished eating and one person eats after. Salads are delicious. Their Italian dressing is awesome. Veggies were a bit underdone and cold. No seasoning whatsoever so I made use of the salt and pepper shakers. Drinks were kept full. Went to dinner on Saturday 11-18-23 around 4 PM to beat the dinner rush. Sat at the bar and my wife and I both ordered a steak with a loaded baked potato. Couple seated next to us had ordered ahead of us. They too had ordered steaks with loaded baked potatoes. When their steaks came out they were told that the kitchen had ran out of baked potatoes but they would be out soon. Then our steaks came out and were told the same thing! My wife and I and the couple next to us had finished our steaks BEFORE the baked potatoes came out, which by then we didn't want the potato and told the server that! Highly recommend this location for perfectly prepared delicious food and excellent service! We celebrated our anniversary here, and it was the first time visiting a Texas Roadhouse. My hubby and I had a delicious appetizer (fried onion) and the 6oz filet, which was melt in your mouth tender with a great flavor cooked perfectly medium. It was incredibly busy. VICTORIA was the BEST server in Joliet hands down!!!!!! We were a large group of 15-20 with more then half small children. Our group was accommodated and seated in close proximity to each other. I was almost ready to give my visit today 5 stars. But then I remembered a few minor glitches that prevent my review from 5-stars. We were immediately seated when we arrived. The hostess who sat us picked up a basket of warm rolls and their cinnamon honey butter on the way to showing us our table. She dropped us off saying that our server will be with us shortly. So she dropped us off with our peanut tin empty, without any utensils or plates for the yummy rolls and cinnamon butter and we had no utensils. That has to be one of my biggest pet peeve - Restaurants who do not provide utensils when the customer sits down. And if I have to actually ASK for the utensils, I probably won't be returning. See my TGIFriday reviews. Same thing happens to me there. . : ( Major fail on the hostess's part. Our server, Carrie, got our visit back on track. We got our drinks, appetizer and dinner entrees in a timely manner. The chopped steak was really good. I got the "Austin Chicken". It was a grilled chicken breast. It was good but I vacillated between asking them to take it back and cook it a little bit longer because I believe there was pink meat around the bone. There should not have been any pink in the chicken meat. In the end, I just ate the meat in the middle of the breast. The atmosphere is very, very lively. Lots of customers, lots of servers, lots of bus boys. The ladies bathroom was immaculate. That is quite an accomplishment considering how crowded it was. Wife and I have gone here many man many times. But tonight was on point. Our waitress Emily was above and beyond amazing. The place was swamped, the lines were long and just about every table arround us was 4 or more at it. But we did t get excuses or eye rolling when she came to our table. We got excellent customer service. The kind if service you get when they think the boss is watching. Service so good that you can't tell if their shift just started or they've been moving for 7 and a half hours and she's ready to go home. My order was slightly off. I asked for ribs and chicken and was given ribs and chicken straps. Now I was thrown because I did t look at the menu I didn't even know that was a combo. I was expecting BBQ chicken. She picked up on it so quick and got me a fresh bbq chicken breast and I didn't have to say anything. (To be fair, I was so tired I may have not ordered correctly. I usually get the ribeye ) But Emily was a perfect waitress and fixed the issue before there really was one. I will always come back to this Texas Roadhouse and if I'm bringing my buddies or bringing my wife, I hope we have Emily again, because she alone makes the return visit worth it. Thank you Emily for taking such great care of us. We needed a night to just kick back and let someone else worry about dinner. And you did just that and then some. In Joliet Illinois this time at the famous Texas road house. So lets dive right in. Pleasant atmosphere, patient waitress/bartender. After I add late orders or being picky on sweet tea too idle conversation this waitress/bartender stayed cool and patient. Order was correct ( which is a hard thing to do at most places), I ordered a prime rib , medium rare with snake bikes and salad. Plates came a little soon quick but that's not always a bad thing. Steak was as ordered miraculously and the mashed potatoes side was also delicious ( I added gravy just because I like my taters with gravy lol). After finishing my food, I sat in my seat and waited for about 3-4 minutes before I was asked how it was and am I done. Wait times aren't bad so don't expect to wait long if you are eating alone or a couple, I give this roadhouse 4 out of 5 stars. Southern boys take their sweet tea seriously and the sweet tea wasn't actually southern sweet tea as the name "texas" would have you believe, the rolls were a little cold and fact I was at the bar next to the resting area of dirty dishes (mainly glasses)left a bad smell ( which I'm sure could have been just a busy day and hard to wash at the specific time I was eating so I can't say it was the bartenders fault or the bus boys). The wait times are outlandish, and on top of that my last visit was on a reservation with a party of eight and they forgot the reservation somehow after checking that the reservation was put through multiple times! Even though the joint was slammed, we were able to get a table in 5min. The wait staff was very hospitable and not only did the waitress check on us multiple times, but so did other staff. Always had good steaks from them but this time was different. Ordered the sirloin with shrimp asked for medium and it came very well done. Also ordered the filet medallions medium and they also came well done. For the price paid the steaks should be done the way they asked us when ordering. We had a terrible experience. First we joined the wait list. We waited the 35 minutes. Still nothing. I went in to see what was happening. Unfortunately for us they took down the wrong phone number. Once that was fixed it turned out that we had to wait another 20 minutes. To me that was totally wrong. That was their mistake not ours. When I asked about that they just replied sorry, we understand. They should have to confirm phone numbers for people. Finally seated it took another 35 minutes for our food. It was crowded I give them that. As far as the food goes, the sides were ok. Veggies were hard as rock. Our meats were steak, chicken and salmon. Everyones was so salty we could hardly eat it. OK so I was pleasantly surprised. I mean it's a chain restaurant and it's in Joliet by the mall...... I was sure this was going to be a gut bomb and self pity afterwards. But flip flop this was a great meal!! I couldn't believe it, the bread was warm and perfect. Peanuts to throw on the floor. The menu was weird but I settled on half roasted chicken with ribs as well. If I could leave a zero star review, I would. This was supposed to be a nice steak dinner for my anniversary. I called first to get on the wait list and was told 15 min. After arriving and waiting nearly 40 min, I was advised the hostess accidentally gave our table to another party of 2, so we had to stand around another 10 min to get seated. Got seated at the worst table in the place, right outside the men's bathroom. Then another 10 min goes by with nobody bringing water or taking a drink order. Numerous servers walked right by with nobody acknowledging our presence. At that point we got up and walked out. We advised the hostess this was the worst service we had ever received and she made zero attempt to apologize, she just smiled. I will never step foot in a Texas Roadhouse again. read more

This isn't a normal review. 4 stars is the average. 5 stars for the help and service I got from Stefanie, the manager. And 3 stars for corporate Texas Roadhouse because during this pandemic I can't pay for a meal over the phone. I would make it less stars for TR, but I love the place, what can I say. So my buddys birthday was yesterday. He and his family are regulars at the Roadhouse, and that's where they went for his birthday. I'm working out of town, and when he posted he was having dinner there, I wanted to pick up his tab. Long story short, I worked with Stefanie to figure out where my buddy was. He was having a whole party, so my plan changed from buying dinner, to buying dessert. (I'm not rich enough to get the whole partys tab, and I didn't want to step on anyone's toes if they were taking him and his wife out for dinner). What Stefanie was able to do, and I'm really grateful she took the time and did it, was get my buddys table desserts, and send me a link that I was able to pay with. She really went the extra mile to help me celebrate with my friends. Thank you Stefanie (sorry if I misspelled your name) you are the kind of employee everyone should strive to be. And as a side note, Texas Roadhouse is my go-to. When I'm on the road working, I know wherever I am, if I can find a Texas Roadhouse, I'm going to bed happy. read more

Easy in, easy out, good food. We were going to see Ender's Game, and we needed a quick dinner that we could enjoy on a Friday night. We called ahead and got a reservation, which helped breeze us through the lines, and get us seated quick. My wife had the 6 ounce Sirloin, and I did the 8 ounce Fillet, and both were properly cooked, properly seasoned (didn't have to dump salt, pepper, or steak sauce on it) and tasted great. For sides, she did the house salad with ranch, and I did the Caesar. It looked like someone had dumped too much egg on her salad, and mine had some ice in it. It was okay, but I've had better Caesars. The other sides were the baked potato, which were cooked properly, and we ordered loaded, so it was easy to cut up, and eat. The service was fast and polite, which is great. We got our check, and made the movie with 10 minutes to spare. Go for it - you won't be disappointed. One minor complaint - the country western music (they have BOTH types) was playing louder than the place in Council Bluffs, which was hard to talk over. read more
