Really wanted to love this place after a second visit but I can't get past the service and lukewarm food. We placed an order late to allow a party member to arrive and the last order was received before the entire group?! How does that happen when we explicitly asked them not to fire the plate. Sodas were sugary and flat but the complimentary bread was a hit. Added a shrimp skewer to most meals and couldn't believe the size of them, they were tiny! Great steak dinner and awesome margaritas! I ordered the 6 oz sirloin with a house salad and sweet potato as my sides. Boom! So much flavor and the steak was cooked to perfection. I usually fill up on the bread before my meal comes which is why I order a 6oz steak but it's just enough food without feeling "too full" afterwards. Make sure you ask for some brown sugar and marshmallow on your sweet potato (it makes all the difference). I got an original margarita on the rocks with a patron kicker and it was yummy. They have many others to choose from on their menu. The only thing I wish they offered was a happy hour or nightly specials because the bill adds up quickly. read more

I love coming to this place! For the food that you get, it is reasonable. Their steaks are wonderful! I love the chili! My son loves the rattlesnake bites. ( Not sure if it's real rattlesnake, I think it's cheese and jalapeño) The staff is always friendly, no matter who you get for a server, and the warm dinner rolls with the cinnamon flavored butter is to die for. Sometimes I even get some of those to go, they're so yummy! They serve a large array of drinks, as well. The kind with alcohol :) During the covid situation, they do have outdoor dining, where I went twice. Once with my kids and another time with a close friend. Service was attentive and the food was great! Outdoors, though, with a small breeze, food tends to cool off more quickly, but hey, it is great to eat out again and such great food. There is a menu of drinks but there is no list of prices, I thought prices are to be listed in the menus? Just got home from Texas Roadhouse and a boy am I thirsty. Everything had an absurd level of salt. Got the fried pickle at appetizer because I had had it a couple of times while visiting Tennessee and enjoyed it there but what we got here was absurdly salty and Incredibly greasy. I was a little afraid of this place so I only ordered a cheeseburger but it tasted like they dumped half a salt shaker on it. My wife ordered a sirloin steak that also was insanely salty and a loaded potato that she was not happy with and the green beans that phad way too much liquid smoke in the mix. My kid ordered pulled pork that was dry and weird and disgusting with a side of rice which also was not good and corn that tasted like they just dumped it out of a can. I wasn't expecting it to be good but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad. We ate as much of this garbage as we could stomach because we were paying for it but I would never go back to this place and can't understand why it is so popular. read more

No , yuck & never again .... I went here recently with a couple friends for a casual dinner and left truly disappointed . The food and atmosphere was just terrible .For starters they have these booths that seem to be designed for children. A 4 top booth that only fits 2 normal adults comfortably with a 36 waist sitting elbow to elbow ... We started out the order with their onion blossom. Best way to describe it- disgusting - It wasn't only under cooked & greasy but the breading tasted like they added too much like flour to mix or something and it was way under seasoned / basically raw in the middle. We got this pulled pork sandwich and honestly found small sharp bones in it... -enough said . We got a tbone that was supposed to be a medium & it came out cooked like they either don't know what they're doing in the back or just rush the food out ... It was way over done/burnt on the outside & under done/ basically so raw in the middle it was still mooing . I got some ribs & a steak that were a true disappointment. Ribs were fatty & my steak had dark blood streaks in the meat . Wouldn't be surprised if the chicken is served with feathers & they have a bunch of highschool kids in the kitchen who failed home ec or something. The waiter also was also pretending to praise our food like it's his favorite dish almost to the point it became uncomfortable. Everything was over salty & the soda served flat & ice tea served warm. We came on a Sunday night around 5, it was already pretty busy and we had to wait like 15 minutes for a table. Compared to another location giving us the estimated time of 45-60 minutes this was much better! The staff was extremely kind with assisting with a seat for my son and very patient. Once we were seated our waitress immediately took our drink orders and even offered to take the children's orders as well so they don't have to wait! This was very much appreciated. While we were there two managers stopped by to check on us to ensure everything was alright. As for the food for the most part, it's good. Following our wonderful first experience at a Texas Roadhouse in the Poconos, we were happy to remember that we drive past one close to home many times. We came to this Old Bridge/Parlin location tonight and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience! The service was impeccable. Our server brought out the food timely. She attentively brought out extra baskets of the slightly sweet and buttery bread as soon as we finished the previous basket. She kept our drinks refilled. The ambience is more casual than your traditional steakhouse. It is not fancy by any means, but it is more of a fun, family friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend selecting your hand-cut steak at the counter before ordering. By doing so, you get to select the marbling and thickness of your steak. (I haven't had any other entrees so far except for the hand cut steaks) Last time, we started with the fried pickles as starters. I really liked it and was going to order this again but my party wanted to try the tator skins this time. It came with lots of little bacon bits and was good. I ordered the 16 oz NY Strip and it was so delicious. I could taste the charred crustiness of the exterior but also the juicy tenderness of the interior. The value for what you get can't be beat. The steak comes with 2 sides. For my 16oz NY steak and 2 sides, it came to ~$22. If you order a smaller or thinner steak, I recommend that you order 1 lower level of doneness so that it isn't overcooked. (Medium on a larger steak comes out perfect, but will be overcooked on a smaller steak). My husband commented that the steak here rivals that of a recent dinner he had at a traditional steakhouse, Abe and Louies, in Boston. After coming here, we will never go back to an Outback again. We were disappointed the last few times at the Outback where the cuts of the steak were not good and the steak itself was very tough. read more

I left it on my plate. One friend ordered prime rib rare. He got prime rib raw. He did not eat his either. Another friend ordered t-bone. He left it on his plate. My husband ordered 1/2 rack of ribs. He said they weren't to bad other than some of the ribs were just bone no meat. Guaranteed we will not be back. My son recently went to the TR in Howell and he said the same thing. It was lousy! Finally got to try out the steakhouse chain that puts other steakhouse chains to shame. People even claim the Western themed restaurant's bread is better than that of the almighty Cheddar Bay Biscuit. I am here to say that both claims have been deemed unfounded. Let's start out with the bread (and most importantly the cinnamon butter). The bread was light with a slight crisp to the outside. It came out very hot, as well. The whipped cinnamon butter was very delicious. Excellent, but nothing I would die for. Unlike the venerable Cheddar Bay Biscuit, I wouldn't even bother to try to duplicate it at home. There is a long list of crimes I would commit for a good Cheddar Bay Biscuit recipe. I'm even satisfied with poor replica of the Red Lobster favorite, which I serve to family every Thanksgiving. Other freebies include salted, roasted peanuts. Being the dealseeker that I am, I couldn't help but opt for the one of the 11 $8.99 early bird specials. I went with a small sirloin with vegetables and mashed potatoes for the two sides. I couldn't wait to see the steak that would put Outback to shame. Perhaps it was cooked how a real steak should be cooked; way better than the average home chef would do. Mahogany brown outside, pink inside. No grill marks if it's cooked under the intense heat of a salamander. Black means burnt. Technically, you burning those parts of the steak if you have grill marks. I was very disappointed. What came out instead was a steak that looked like a beginner with an underpowered gas grill would serve. Gray outside highlighted with bush league grill marks. Hey, at least it had the criss cross much revered by general home chef cooking shows. It's good for presentation, right? The texture and flavor was pretty good. Granted, it was tender throughout, but the outside didn't have that extra kick flavor or texture-wise. All in all, $8.99 for bread with cinnamon butter, peanuts, a steak and two sides is a great deal. It's great for a fill-up while the super helpful staff caters to you. However, the food is not so amazing that I could recommend it to people hankering for a good steak, especially for anything other than the $8.99 deal. read more
