Shrimp Flautas, there is guac, onions and lettuce but I accidently smushed it with my dipping bowl lol

Had an amazing dinner while visiting the area to see long time friends after a few years! The meal was perfect, the service was terrific, and the vibes indoor and outdoor were just happy families enjoying an evening out with the beautiful South Austin area weather. The chips and queso were flowing all night with delicious meals. I loved my shrimp flautas and opted for a double order of black beans instead of rice which was very filling but delicious. I tried a few bites of my wife's chicken chimichanga and had no complaints. No complaints for start to finish, and personally found it to be a step above places like Chuys while remaining family friendly and fair price point.

We came back last Sunday when my fiancés stepmom was in town, and had another positive experience. We tried the queso flameado this time, which was definitely warm and fresh, and was a good change up. My Pescado Oscar was also solid. My fiancé liked her meal and my fiancés stepmom did too. We would come back.

I loved eating at this restaurant!!! I went with my family of 6, and we had an amazing time! We enjoyed beef fajitas and the salad with chicken and our little ones loved the soft tacos and nachos on the kids menu! The service was good, and our waiter was very welcoming! It was such a pretty restaurant and we loved looking at all of the paintings on the walls and all the wonderful decorations in the rooms! It was about a 20 minute wait when we arrived but the waiting area had seating for my grandmother and it was very nicely put together! I would come again, definitely recommend!

This is one of the most friendly, accepting, comfortable, and family-friendly dinin' spots you'll find in this area. The staff are incredibly cordial and polite. The food is, primarily, tex-mex, and, yeah, some folks will have less than stellar opinions about that, but, don't care - the food is made fresh, is small kitchen style, and, I find, along with the staff, that makes me feel more at home. I'd definitely go so far as to bring a date here, because it's an atmosphere for *"real"* folks, it's well-suited to relaxed, casual conversation, so, it's a warm, comfy spot, for down-to-earth conversation, and getting to know just 'bout anyone. Also, as someone autistic, who might be considered "neurospicy", I've been here on my "off" days, and know I'm in a relatively safe spot, if I'm feelin' particularly vulnerable to the world Thanks so much, for that! I've tried quite a few things, on their menu, and have never left feeling anything other than happy with my meal. Pictured is a grilled chicken salad, with their in-house chipotle ranch dressing, which is a perfect lunch. It's right-sized, and, doesn't make me want to nap, afterward. Also, I've always enjoyed the queso, with guacamole

All I'm gonna say is this was an 18 dollar QUESADILLA with no sides. What a joke.

Most disappointing quesadilla I've ever seen. Not to mention it's called a "grande" , comes with no sides, and is 18 dollars. Straight up robbery.. especially for being such an unpacked day.

If you have a craving for Tex Mex, this is the spot. Big parking lot, old Spanish style decor and places to sit in a booth or tables and chairs. We were greeted by a man and seated us as requested at a table in the bar. I've been here before and sat in the restaurant to the right but my friend wanted to sit in the bar. It was happy hour and I got the Mexican martini which was the featured for the day. My friend got a Dos Equis. The service was quick and our waitress was timid but efficient. They have a full bar too and some come in just for a drink at the bar. It was busy for a Wednesday at 4:30. I can say I've had better tortilla soup but it was still good, just seemed to missing something or it could've been more spicy. My friend loved her stuffed avocado dish. It's right off Menchaca and 1626, so easy to get to, just not visible if you're driving by since it's farther in the lot. Most people who've lived in the area have been coming here for years. It's in the same lot as where the old Pedernales office was. Just look for that gas station and you're there.

Diablo Enchilada Plate with beef was solid

I came all the way out here because I heard about their chips and salsa. This place has a lot of room, and it was a nice experience, they did not disappoint. I heard they have some really good chips and salsa - so you get those when you sit down. Yes - the chips are light, crispy, made specially for them (per the waiter). A bit salty - but it's bearable. The red salsa was pretty good too. I needed more with those chips so I got that Queso with beef and guac in it - - oh so good! 9 bucks. I couldn't decide what to get but a couple of people recommeded the Diablo Enchiladas. Plate comes out hot, got the beef, the sauce is a little spicy, and the enchiladas are pretty respectable size. In fact I could only eat one and had to take the rest home. The rice is solid, the black beans were good, I really enjoyed my meal here. Service was prompt and courteous. They kept filling my chip basket and I kept munching away. I will definitely be back here for some other items on their menu that sounds so appetizing. They kept saying Fajitas are great here and they did look good. The Tortilla Soup looks great too. A lot of nice items to pick here. I don't know why I never knew of these guys before - but better late than never!

The portion and flavor of their tortilla soup was just as good as people had told me it would be and priced appropriately at just under $15- I'll def go back to have it again before I try to rank it among the best in town. I'm sure it's even better if you get it dine-in but I still really enjoyed mine as takeout

I ordered for the first time a beef tamale plate. Is this plate worth $15.75? For 2 tamales, rise and beans! Even though the plate is very testy, I liked very much I will never order it again.

Also on my friends second drink remembered she didn't want salt or her rim without even asking - Everything tasted so fresh and high quality - Brisket tacos: packed with flavor--maybe it was the wagyu meat or the black magic oil. Freshly made corn tortillas were awesome. Usually corn ones and pretty throwaway meh, but these added to the greatness of the tacos. 5 stars - Duck flautas: crispy covered in mild mole. Loved the mashed potato addition inside for some mellowness and texture. 5 stars - Guacamole: so fresh and that dollop of pesto on top was lovely. Served with crispy masa dippers were impressive almost a 8x11 page size. Every one of them was great, and it was hard to stop eating. I had Joel's Happy Plate, and honestly the roasted jalapeño on top is what sold me on ordering it. The whole dish was delicious. I also tried the Kathy Valentine taco because I'm a sucker for roasted poblano peppers. It was excellent, sweet from the corn, a little spicy from the peppers, and tied together with plenty of cheesy goodness. I'd happily order it again. My son ordered the Eldorado Burrito. He's usually not a big eater, but he put away a surprising amount of it. I stole a few bites myself and completely understood why. My girlfriend had the Uchingon Bowl, and she finished the whole thing. The crispy carnitas added a ton of flavor and texture. I've also had their coffee, the guava house margarita, and even the vegan Crunchwrap on previous visits. The Crunchwrap especially exceeded my expectations. What I appreciate most about Eldorado is that the food feels real. Nothing seems overly complicated, just quality ingredients prepared well. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully made. The interior is comfortable and welcoming. We've usually had a bit of a wait to be seated, but they make it easy by offering chips, salsa, and drinks outside while you wait. I've only been once and it's definitely not gonna be the last time. In fact, we've got an upcoming reservation that's been on the books for quite sometime. They've managed to remain delicious, relevant and in demand 50 years! That's saying something. I'll tell you what that says...it says they rule! Reservations can be tricky to get but oh so worth it. The bar & atrium are fantastic and they boast a generous happy hour. The restaurant area and entire space are decorated wonderfully. Amazing artwork adorns the walls, they've got extensive art all about, vaulted ceilings and more. It's kind of like being in a hacienda. It feels like you're in Mexico. Truly. The restaurant and food are upscale without being pretentious. How refreshing! Speaking of refreshing...they've got cocktails and mocktails that will knock your socks off. I'm a big fan of the Nojito. My boyfriend loves the Mexican martini (it's primo). Let's talk about food. Wow-wee is it everything and then some. This is the kind of Tex-Mex flavor that sends your tastebuds into a tailspin of goodness! On our visit we did a salsa flight (we did 3 salsas), the queso (melted muenster and Oaxacan), Wagyu beef tacos, and chicken verde enchiladas. We did a spread like that in order to share everything. Food so good I'd give ten stars if I could. I can't put my finger on it but there's just something so special about the food, the taste of it, and the quality. It's just incredible flavor explosion bite after bite. If I had to guess, I'd say the food has been made with love, skill, and attention to detail all these years. Hence, their amazing reputation.
