We tried Thai BBQ Original Restaurant on Jones and had a great experience from start to finish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First off, there's plenty of seating inside and parking was easy -- which is always a plus in Las Vegas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome without hovering. The food came out fresh and in generous portions. We ordered the House Pad Thai, Beef Sate, Chicken Wings, Crab Fried Rice, Pad Se Ew, and Shrimp Yellow Curry. The House Pad Thai was well seasoned and balanced -- savory with just the right touch of sweetness. The Pad Se Ew had a nice texture and good noodles, though it tasted a little on the bland side compared to the Pad Thai. It almost felt like some seasoning might've been left out by accident, but still enjoyable overall. The Shrimp Yellow Curry was one of the standouts. The shrimp were cooked perfectly -- not rubbery at all -- the potatoes were tender, and the mild heat level was spot on. Comforting and flavorful without being overwhelming. Beef Sate was tender and clearly well marinated, with great flavor throughout. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside and juicy inside -- exactly how they should be. And the Crab Fried Rice was packed with flavor and topped with a generous amount of crab meat, which we appreciated. Overall, everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Solid flavors, good portions, friendly service, and easy parking -- we'll definitely be back.

Went to Lunch at Thai BBQ and of course it was full, constant flow of customers, our waitresses were attentive, our orders were taken right away and our food came on time. We ordered fried tofu and dearest crab for appetizers and it was delicious, they fried the tofu well but not overcooked or burnt, and my favorite dearest crab was always good, crispy on the outside. The fish delight was also delicious, they always cook it perfectly and the sauce they used was also delicious. And they priced their food reasonably. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of parking outside and it is always cool inside, they have no problems with their AC ( lol, most Asian restaurants are warm).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Our Family's all time favorite thai bbq! Beef satey is a must order every time with tom kha & pad see ew! They have a slight make over on their menu, we couldnt find pad see ew, we asked our server and turned out they change the name but she forgot to tell us which is it, i guess it could be the drunken noodles?! Lol Well as long as she got our order right when i said pad see ew [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is clean but the only thing is the space is not very big.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But we still love this place coz of the food!!!

Saw this restaurant on TIKTOK and added to my list to visit. I was excited to try out this place and wow was I extremely disappointed. We order the BBQ chicken with fried rice and BBQ RIBS with fried rice. The meat was literally boil and threw on the grill for grill marks with American bbq sauce smothered on top. This is not "authentic Thai bbq."

Upon entering we were greeted and seated right away. The venue is clean altho it's an old building and a bit run down. Just a few tables were occupied, but we did go there for lunch on a weekday. Onara took our orders and she was very helpful and brought us to go cups for our drinks. Thanks Onara! My friend ordered lunch special bbq pork ribs with side of egg fried rice and salad. I ordered meatball noodle soup with beef briskets which is a lot like pho but has a slightly sweeter taste to it. It was warm and hit the spot. My soup has lots of beef briskets which I appreciates. We were also served a small cup of warm cabbage soup in beginning which was just right. We also ordered Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee. I was told there's free refill to thai iced coffee. No dessert this time since I'm on a diet. Aheem... lol The bathroom is a unisex and clean but they ran out of paper towels so I grabbed a couple on my way out. Theres music playing in the background. I think I remember Lady Gaga singing. They had a special for a free fried rice with any entree but you have to join their members club, which I chose not to. Thank you Thai BBQ!

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant has been one of my parents' favorites since we moved to Las Vegas over 20 years ago, but I was disappointed in the quality of the food this time around. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant had nice renovations done and got busy after we sat down.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What we ordered, in celebration of Mother's Day, looked picture-perfect, but everything came out at different times, food wasn't fresh & hot (in temperature), even the fried rice tasted different for it was mushy & more on the wet-side. Out of all the dishes, the summer rolls tasted the best with that delicious peanut sauce and can never go wrong with Thai iced tea. Thank you for the service, but definitely wasn't the same.

I came here for lunch by myself during the week. The waitress was very friendly and seated me immediately. I opted to get the bbq chicken lunch special that comes with egg fried rice, a soup, and salad. Everything was delicious. I also ordered a thai iced tea because I always must have one when I eat at a thai restaurant and I finished it so fast it was so good. I would love to come back and try their noodle dishes as that's what I usually order at thai restaurants but couldn't pass up trying their bbq if its in their name! The meat was tender and juicy and sauced perfectly. The sauce that comes on the side was a too sweet for me, I think I would've preferred a vinegar or sour sauce on the side to balance, but the chicken itself didn't need the sauce anyway. I would definitely stop by if you have the chance!

We've eaten the food from here for years and it has always been consistently delicious. We dined in for the first time and it was even better! The service felt very homey. Inside is obviously not the newest, modern restaurant but it was very clean. We got the sa-te lunch special, only around $15. We usually get the same things to-go & it's already the best but having it fresh out of the kitchen was even better!

Being from LA and visiting Las Vegas, I often crave Asian food after a few days of eating American food (my fellow Asians know what I'm talking about!!) We were recommended this Thai restaurant from a family friend and as a table of 5 hungry people, we just about ordered the whole menu! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were greeted by a kind server who sat us quickly, the restaurants interior looks a bit old, but its clean and quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Tom Kha and Tom Yum soup. The Tom Kha is richer because of the coconut milk, but still tasted light, sour, spicy, and not overly salty! Highly recommend pouring some soup over rice, addicting! We ordered Chicken Satay and Beef Satay for the table as appetizers. I equally enjoyed them both! They both had nice charred grilled marks, juicy tender meat. Both accompanied by really good peanut sauce. The peanut sauce they have isn't watered down or too thick. The BBQ Chicken was good. It had a sweet, salty, asian red bbq flavor. It came with two pieces, a bone in chicken breast, and a bone in chicken thigh. The chicken breast was dry (understandable cause it's a leaner cut of chicken) and the thigh was juicy. For main dishes we ordered Pad Thai, Chicken Larb, and Cha Cha Fish. I don't have any bad things to say about any of the dishes! The flavors stood out, the food wasn't oily, and I didn't feel bad the next day! (Typically if I eat food with too much sodium or fat I feel sick the day after). I also ordered the summer rolls as an appetizer! I wanted to incorporate more veggies. There were bell peppers, lettuce, carrots, and cucumbers. 10/10! Fresh veggies, no noodle as filler, and the dipping sauce was a light peanut sauce, different then the peanut sauce used for the satays! I'd definitely come back here again when I'm back in Vegas!!

Dinner here at Thai BBQ a recommendation from an IG post we recently seen about one of their House Specials the S1 - BBQ Chicken. We had to check it out. We ordered their S1 BBQ Chicken dinner special for two people for $25 (fried rice and bbq chicken served as is no choosing specific chicken pieces) and the SA-TE Chicken and Beef combination. Being allergic to shell fish I'm glad they were able to make the fried rice an egg fried rice instead of shrimp fried rice. The food came out hot and fresh. The BBQ Chicken with their homemade red sweet sauce was tasty. Every piece was evenly balanced with the sauce. Extra sauce was given on the side. The Egg Fried rice was good. The SA-TE Chicken and Beef combination with the cucumber jalapeño salad and the peanut sauce was perfect and good. Clean dining room and friendly service. We will be back again to try other dishes.

This place has a hole in the wall feel even though it's a on a main street. Ordered the papaya salad, pad thai, and bbq chicken. The papaya salad was good! However the pad thai was sweeter and had more of a lime taste than what I'm used to. It is good in it's own way but be warned it's definitely on the sweet sour side than savory. But there main bbq chicken dish was to die for. It was cooked perfectly with a crispy sauce outside. The even provided a dipping sauce for it which made it heavenly. The price of all the dishes together was decent but the charm of this place is their free refillable thai tea! We also got the mango sticky rice dessert which was so warm and tasty! I was excited to try this place after the Original Thai BBQ on Maryland Pkwy closed down years ago. We ordered the S1 (bbq chicken). That was not it! They smothered the chicken with bbq which isn't how we remembered it. The side sauce was pink and it was so sweet it tasted like syrup. Overall the food was very disappointing. The restaurant seemed ok, but the smell of the incense burning was overwhelming and it made me sick. The only plus to this place is that our server was really nice and greeted us with a smile. Just like old times. I first ate at thai bbq in DTLV about 20 years ago. I've always only ordered their bbq chicken plate and their recipe hasn't changed over the years. I've frequented this location and the one on Maryland parkway after the DT location closed, however, it's been years at least 10 years since I've been back. I ordered a lunch special through yelp before the store even opened and it was ready for me at 1145, as stated. The staff were really nice and had all the necessary supplies in the bag. $9.99 for a breast/wing, along with fried rice and salad was a good deal and def satisfied my lunching needs. read more

1 star for the beef padsee-ew cuz it was the best dish yet not that great. I hate to say this but hated even more to eat this but what is supposed to be their most popular dish (S1 bbq chicken) tasted spoiled. Seems like it was smothered with soo much bbq sauce to mask the horrible taste. The Tum Yum Soup was funky too!!! Oh, and the pineapple fried rice was a waste as it was soo bland that white rice would've been alot better. I grew up in California where this place started and it really sucks that the only location in Vegas puts the name to shame. We have been coming here for probably 20+ years. This is a hidden little gem in a small strip mall next to a bar and a convenience store. If you don't know it's there, you'd probably drive right by it. It's always had great food and great service which might be why it's stayed in business for as long as it has despite not being in a popular or busy location such as a large shopping center. read more

This is a safe bet for someone who is new to Thai food. But for us, the flavors were not quite there. Let's start with the positives: Free refills on Thai ice-tea, saaweet! Food not too salty Chicken panang curry was really good. Decor is very non-distinguished for a Thai restaurant, but I do like that they were not too busy(?)...hmmm...is that good or bad. It's our first time here. We ordered beef larb, which again, for us, did not have enough fish sauce and was on the dry side, didn't have enough sauce. Didn't have cucumbers in it either. While we enjoyed the shrimp pad Thai, the portion was very skimpy for the dinner price. Doesn't salmon with tamarind sauce just makes your mouth water? While the salmon tasted fresh and cooked perfectly, I am definitely missing the tamarind in the sauce, which was too sweet, again, to me. read more

Never again! I remember when this place use to rock and they had 2 locations. This time i have to say it totally was very disappointing. The 1 star is for being in the same location for years but even that it is dark and blah inside and needs some gearing up. The food is not even close to good. Always a go to for thai foor. Had a party at my house. I got 7 orders of the beef satay with shrimp fried rice and 4 orders of pad thai and asked to place them in trays. I waited ten minutes for them to sit me down. No one came they were serving food. No acknowledgment that I was there and they'll be right with me. Ordered water took another ten minutes. So I left the place. Never coming back. Plus they don't want you to use credit or debit card below $20. Wtf is wrong with people. read more

I could easily give this place five stars just for giving unlimited servings of Thai tea. What's more awesome is that the tea is actually a free yelp check in offer. Free and unlimited, five stars! Kidding aside, this place is truly a hidden gem in the quiet neighborhood of Las Vegas. My nephew and his wife took me here for lunch. The place is clean and service was very friendly. We ordered: Chicken Dinner $9.95 Marinated half BBQ chicken served with homemade sweet sauce, served with shrimp fried rice Thai BBQ Spareribs $7.50 Two Thai BBQ spareribs served with fried rice Yellow Curry Chicken $6.95 Chicken in mild curry sauce, served with steamed rice We were served soup and salad while waiting for our orders which didn't take long. Yum! First time trying this Thai place with my family and it was delicious! I'm Thai, so finding a really good authentic thai place can be hard but this restaurant was amazing! We ordered garlic spare ribs, eggplant with pork, crab fried rice and pad thai. All super yummy but my favorite was the crab fried rice and eggplant. Service was great, got greeted and seated rather quickly. Very attentive and came to check on us often. Definitely coming back for more food and dessert. read more

Food: They have all the Thai staples and they do them efficiently well. Portions are decently sized relative to price, and lunch specials are a great deal here. Bonus points for their chefs fielding a custom request for me and making Tom Kha noodle soup at a custom spice level with pork larb added, which was every bit as good as I thought it would be (and I've since ordered it twice). (4.5/5) Ambiance: Well-lit with comfortable booths, clean spacious tables and nice wall decor. Can get loud when it's crowded with families on weekend nights, but otherwise not much to nitpick about. (4.5/5) Service: This is where they really shine. The Thai aunties here are always friendly, energetic, welcoming and attentive. Of the 10+ times I've been here, they have never not been in a good mood to make the dining experience more pleasant. (5/5) My personal favorite dishes: Tom Yum & Tom Kha noodle soups (especially in the winter), green curry, basil chicken, crab rangoons, beef w/ bell peppers. This place is also my go-to spot for Thai delivery in this neighborhood, and the food has always arrived at my place still hot and served with all the fixings. It's probably not a Thai joint worth driving across Las Vegas just to visit (a la Lotus of Siam), but if you live in Spring Valley or you're passing by West of Strip during the lunch hour then you will NOT be disappointed with anything you order from this place. read more

My hubby & I left LV 2 years ago and truly miss the Vegas food. Thai BBQ is my comfort food I have been coming to this place for over 15 years and they have not changed the food. Day 1 Monday- We got off the plane and headed straight to Thai BBQ and ordered the rib dinner had the right amount of sweetness mix it up with the jalepeno vinegar on the rice yummy talk about waking up your mouth. Chicken Sa Te for the hubby grilled perfectly and peanut sauce just takes it to another level. pad Thai was a little sweet, papaya salad #3 had the perfect spice level but lime over powered the papaya. The waiter looked at me with Agh! This chic is starving... lol My 1st bite took me back in time, the service was fantastic (I do miss the old timers who use to work here) . Day 2 Wednesday- had the garlic short ribs, a little different taste from what I remembered but still taste great, I prefer the older version with a little sweetness and real dried garlic on top. I even ordered 2 rib dinner & 2 ckn dinner to take on the plane home... Overall, this restaurant is so good and I'm so glad the food is still the way it was. Look.. being an LA native, and a huge Thai food connaiseur, I must say, i was very impressed with this place. I actually like this better than th Original Thai BBQ. The food here is much tastier, the ONLY issue i had was the portion wasn't as much as th OG one from Los Angeles. Their Beef Sate was excellent. Beef jerky.. my mouth jizzed. Ribs.. jizzin. So... was craving something new and saw this on Postmates.. I cross checked the reviews here, which were average. I decided to give it a whirl, as they were offering $5 off. Honestly, I was shocked! Maybe because I didn't have high expectations... haha. We got crab wontons and egg rolls to try.. loved the wontons. The egg rolls were okay, but needed veggies in them.. it's just meat and those clear noodle things. We also tried the BBQ chicken and the sa-te beef, both of which came with the fried rice (2 shrimp on top)... both were sooooo good!!! The meats were so juicy and flavorful! This restaurant has been my favorite as a child! This is the OG location and has been in business ever since. I always order the Shrimp Tom Yum to start. Then S-8 Beef Sa Te for their lunch special (which is before 3pm) or even for dinner! It comes with this cucumber salad on the side and this yummy peanut sauce. Their fried rice is topped with shrimp and its soo good! It's so good that I used to order extra fried rice to go! I love noodles so Pad Thai is a must and also the Pad See Ew! OK pad thai. On the dry side. Half of the order was full of tofu. They put it on top and in the noodles so I feel jipped on the noodles. The container was also super small so they packed it in to the point that it was hard to mix the peanuts and sprouts in. Got hangry while running errands and ended up dining in at our favorite Thai place. Wow, this place sure brings back memories! Masks are required, of course, and they check your temperature using a stand alone reader where you can see yourself and your results right away. No contact nor close proximity involved. Hubby also noticed their renovations at the dining area. Gave the place a modern chic look/vibe. Their S2 Pork BBQ spare ribs is my fave here. Luckily, we arrived within their lunch window and I ordered their L2 instead. Hubby got the yellow curry (lunch version), and was disappointed to realize that they use white meat for their chicken. But he still finished it. Kiddos tried the noodle soup with beef. It was yummy too. Unfortunately, the mango for the mango sticky rice was not ripe so the sour taste did not make it enjoyable. I love this place! Every time I have Thai craving or craving spicy in general, this is one of the option that comes to mind! I love their thai beef jerky with the super good thai salsa. The crab wontons are also on of my favorite appetizers. The Thai chicken bbq is definitely a different kind of bbq, but it is sooooo good! I keep coming back, which says something in itself…read more Every Thursday they feature burgers, and they always have their signature Dandan: two 100% brisket patties quick-fried in tallow, topped with cheddar cheese and Dandan sauce on a butter-griddled brioche bun. This week they also offered two specials -- the Oklahoma (Dandan with grilled onions) and the Jalapeño Oklahoma (Dandan with grilled onions and jalapeños). The Dandan has been on my list for a while, so I finally pulled the trigger. I called around 11:30 a.m. and was promptly helped by a friendly employee. After a quick chat about which of the three was best, I went with the Jalapeño Oklahoma and a side of Brussels sprouts. I've had the sprouts before and really liked them -- they felt like a slightly healthier alternative to the usual fried sides. (Though when I arrived to pick up my order, it seemed like everyone else was happily devouring onion rings, which made me second-guess that choice.) As expected, there was a line stretching out the door. I quickly realized I was the only one actually waiting outside. Several people walked straight in, bypassed the line, and got helped right away. Turns out a group of 3-4 people had already ordered and were just hanging out inside in the AC while they waited. Lesson learned: if you've already placed your order, just walk in next time. While I waited, the staff brought out an ice-cold cup of their fresh cantaloupe juice. It's very sweet and genuinely delicious -- highly recommend. I took everything to go and ate at home, so I can't speak to temperature. The burger was big and loaded with meat and cheese -- you couldn't really see the jalapeños or onions at first, but they announced themselves with the first bite. The brisket patties cooked in tallow deliver a deep, rich beef flavor. They're a little firmer than a standard burger (as expected with brisket), so if you're someone who likes a lot of vegetables and toppings, this might not be your ideal burger. But if you're after a straight-up, beef-forward, no-frills experience, you won't be disappointed. The Brussels sprouts were excellent as always -- perfectly balanced with a sweet-tangy balsamic glaze. Let's be honest... I'll definitely be back. Next time I'm trying the classic Dandan -- and those onion rings.

~°*Solid piece of advice*°~ DON'T EVEN BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME HERE!!! Several reasons: #1. They think you're dumb enough to pay for dinner prices even though it's clearly lunch time. We went for lunch at 11:30. The menu book has a special *Lunch Menu*. (correction: pad Thai is not on the lunch menu. Coincidentally one of the most commonly ordered items on the menu) and when I went to the front to pay, because even though the place was nearly empty and the waitress walked past us several times, i finally decided that I better go myself and pay instead of waste my work day waiting for someone to bring the check. #2. The place is absolutely filthy. My understanding is that if you aren't busy doing your job, then you should at least be cleaning and making your place of business appealing and safe feeling for your customers. The floor looks like it hasn't even been mopped for years. I can tell they sweep it, but that is it. Don't bring your little kids or your grandparents who may have an immune system that can't handle a little dirt and a few thousand germs and possibly viruses. #3. The service is terrible. I had to fetch the wait staff myself to order. As a few customers started coming in for the later part of the lunch crowd the waitress passed us several times to seat customers and bring plates. She did ask how our food was. I'll give her that, but don't drink your beverage too fast (ya it's the desert, you're thirsty) because I doubt they give refills. On the way out, as I was paying at the desk instead of at the table because I couldn't sit and wait any longer for the waitress to bring us the tab, i did ask for a refill to go on one of our drinks and they gave it to me. Even provided a straw! #4. The food sucks. It really does. One thing you can count on, for sure is that you'll be disappointed. And I was pretty hungry so that should have tricked me a little bit to make the food taste better, but nope, that's how bad it was. And it really is too bad because I've been looking for a good Thai place to go to since I'm fairly new in town. As bland as Thai food can possibly get, this is it. If your tastebuds are shot and you don't mind being over charged, this is the place to go. Hands down. The pad Thai, which is probably one of the most commonly ordered dishes in any Thai restaurant, had absolutely no garnishment and the only veggies were bean sprouts. Usually a pad Thai dish comes with green onion, carrot, red Thai chili peppers, peanuts (ok it had a pinch of crushed peanut), lime slice and cilantro. It looked like an angry, overworked, underappreciated, cook slopped some sauced noodles and bean sprouts on the plate and called it, not lunch, but 'from the dinner menu'. We all ordered 3 star spicy. Each plate had a different amount of spice level even though we all requested the same level of spiciness. Mine had zero spice, the next had a little and the third plate was good. (And no, i aint Goldilocks, and i didn't see any three bears) The short ribs had a few drops of sauce, the pad Thai was incredibly sweet, yet bland and the fried rice was ok. 5. Incredibly overpriced for bad food, dirty restaurant and nearly non existant service with a major language barrier and bad attitude from the lady at the cash register when asking for a first time refill on iced tea. She played dumb when I brought it to her attention that she charged dinner prices for lunch time. That's when the language barrier got really bad, nearly impossible to communicate. There was no point in discussing it over and over in different ways until they understood or admitted they over charged. I could keep going on about how pissed off, disgusted and disappointed I still am, 3 days later, but I'll spare the poor soul who has stuck with me to read my entire review and I really would rather spend my time looking up reviews for a good Thai place to make my new regular, go to place to go eat Thai food that I can also recommend to anyone and be confident that they will agree with me. To anyone who has read through this entire review through this point, I thank you and hope that you have better luck with your lunchtime meal than I did. read more

This place is a true hidden gem! If you're craving amazing Thai BBQ at great prices, look no further. The food is always on point--juicy, flavorful Chicken BBQ, tender short ribs packed with smoky goodness, and of course, the perfect finish: sweet mango with sticky rice. Every bite is just so satisfying. What really makes this spot special, though, is the service. Let me give you the lowdown on this place. First off, they've got this lunch special that's just perfect - affordable and tasty, can't go wrong there. I have been coming here for years. Service has always been great for lunch or dinner. Recently I visited the establishment at around 9:30pm knowing they closed at 11pm, sad to say but the service was not the typical service we receive. The food was rushed, not flavored as the typical delicious food we are used to. I'm guessing this only happens when the owners/managers aren't there, every other time we go there we see the owners and everything is great. In conclusion, if the managers/owners aren't there.. taste and service will lack. I will definitely stick to going there for lunch or early dinner. read more

My friends and i are regulars at the place, we come once a week and have dinner. The lady that is the server at night is really nice, and always has a smile on her face. We go there so much she already knows our orders. Needless to say free thai iced tea. Chicken Pai tai and chicken sa tai are my #1 dinner plates, Cant miss the coconut shrimp soup on the side. I highly recommend this place for family, friends or even couples . Great atmosphere and vibe. read more
