We tried Thai BBQ Original Restaurant on Jones and had a great experience from start to finish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First off, there's plenty of seating inside and parking was easy -- which is always a plus in Las Vegas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome without hovering. The food came out fresh and in generous portions. We ordered the House Pad Thai, Beef Sate, Chicken Wings, Crab Fried Rice, Pad Se Ew, and Shrimp Yellow Curry. The House Pad Thai was well seasoned and balanced -- savory with just the right touch of sweetness. The Pad Se Ew had a nice texture and good noodles, though it tasted a little on the bland side compared to the Pad Thai. It almost felt like some seasoning might've been left out by accident, but still enjoyable overall. The Shrimp Yellow Curry was one of the standouts. The shrimp were cooked perfectly -- not rubbery at all -- the potatoes were tender, and the mild heat level was spot on. Comforting and flavorful without being overwhelming. Beef Sate was tender and clearly well marinated, with great flavor throughout. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside and juicy inside -- exactly how they should be. And the Crab Fried Rice was packed with flavor and topped with a generous amount of crab meat, which we appreciated. Overall, everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Solid flavors, good portions, friendly service, and easy parking -- we'll definitely be back.

Went to Lunch at Thai BBQ and of course it was full, constant flow of customers, our waitresses were attentive, our orders were taken right away and our food came on time. We ordered fried tofu and dearest crab for appetizers and it was delicious, they fried the tofu well but not overcooked or burnt, and my favorite dearest crab was always good, crispy on the outside. The fish delight was also delicious, they always cook it perfectly and the sauce they used was also delicious. And they priced their food reasonably. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of parking outside and it is always cool inside, they have no problems with their AC ( lol, most Asian restaurants are warm).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Our Family's all time favorite thai bbq! Beef satey is a must order every time with tom kha & pad see ew! They have a slight make over on their menu, we couldnt find pad see ew, we asked our server and turned out they change the name but she forgot to tell us which is it, i guess it could be the drunken noodles?! Lol Well as long as she got our order right when i said pad see ew [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is clean but the only thing is the space is not very big.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But we still love this place coz of the food!!!

Saw this restaurant on TIKTOK and added to my list to visit. I was excited to try out this place and wow was I extremely disappointed. We order the BBQ chicken with fried rice and BBQ RIBS with fried rice. The meat was literally boil and threw on the grill for grill marks with American bbq sauce smothered on top. This is not "authentic Thai bbq."

Upon entering we were greeted and seated right away. The venue is clean altho it's an old building and a bit run down. Just a few tables were occupied, but we did go there for lunch on a weekday. Onara took our orders and she was very helpful and brought us to go cups for our drinks. Thanks Onara! My friend ordered lunch special bbq pork ribs with side of egg fried rice and salad. I ordered meatball noodle soup with beef briskets which is a lot like pho but has a slightly sweeter taste to it. It was warm and hit the spot. My soup has lots of beef briskets which I appreciates. We were also served a small cup of warm cabbage soup in beginning which was just right. We also ordered Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee. I was told there's free refill to thai iced coffee. No dessert this time since I'm on a diet. Aheem... lol The bathroom is a unisex and clean but they ran out of paper towels so I grabbed a couple on my way out. Theres music playing in the background. I think I remember Lady Gaga singing. They had a special for a free fried rice with any entree but you have to join their members club, which I chose not to. Thank you Thai BBQ!

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant has been one of my parents' favorites since we moved to Las Vegas over 20 years ago, but I was disappointed in the quality of the food this time around. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant had nice renovations done and got busy after we sat down.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What we ordered, in celebration of Mother's Day, looked picture-perfect, but everything came out at different times, food wasn't fresh & hot (in temperature), even the fried rice tasted different for it was mushy & more on the wet-side. Out of all the dishes, the summer rolls tasted the best with that delicious peanut sauce and can never go wrong with Thai iced tea. Thank you for the service, but definitely wasn't the same.

I came here for lunch by myself during the week. The waitress was very friendly and seated me immediately. I opted to get the bbq chicken lunch special that comes with egg fried rice, a soup, and salad. Everything was delicious. I also ordered a thai iced tea because I always must have one when I eat at a thai restaurant and I finished it so fast it was so good. I would love to come back and try their noodle dishes as that's what I usually order at thai restaurants but couldn't pass up trying their bbq if its in their name! The meat was tender and juicy and sauced perfectly. The sauce that comes on the side was a too sweet for me, I think I would've preferred a vinegar or sour sauce on the side to balance, but the chicken itself didn't need the sauce anyway. I would definitely stop by if you have the chance!

We've eaten the food from here for years and it has always been consistently delicious. We dined in for the first time and it was even better! The service felt very homey. Inside is obviously not the newest, modern restaurant but it was very clean. We got the sa-te lunch special, only around $15. We usually get the same things to-go & it's already the best but having it fresh out of the kitchen was even better!

Being from LA and visiting Las Vegas, I often crave Asian food after a few days of eating American food (my fellow Asians know what I'm talking about!!) We were recommended this Thai restaurant from a family friend and as a table of 5 hungry people, we just about ordered the whole menu! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were greeted by a kind server who sat us quickly, the restaurants interior looks a bit old, but its clean and quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Tom Kha and Tom Yum soup. The Tom Kha is richer because of the coconut milk, but still tasted light, sour, spicy, and not overly salty! Highly recommend pouring some soup over rice, addicting! We ordered Chicken Satay and Beef Satay for the table as appetizers. I equally enjoyed them both! They both had nice charred grilled marks, juicy tender meat. Both accompanied by really good peanut sauce. The peanut sauce they have isn't watered down or too thick. The BBQ Chicken was good. It had a sweet, salty, asian red bbq flavor. It came with two pieces, a bone in chicken breast, and a bone in chicken thigh. The chicken breast was dry (understandable cause it's a leaner cut of chicken) and the thigh was juicy. For main dishes we ordered Pad Thai, Chicken Larb, and Cha Cha Fish. I don't have any bad things to say about any of the dishes! The flavors stood out, the food wasn't oily, and I didn't feel bad the next day! (Typically if I eat food with too much sodium or fat I feel sick the day after). I also ordered the summer rolls as an appetizer! I wanted to incorporate more veggies. There were bell peppers, lettuce, carrots, and cucumbers. 10/10! Fresh veggies, no noodle as filler, and the dipping sauce was a light peanut sauce, different then the peanut sauce used for the satays! I'd definitely come back here again when I'm back in Vegas!!

Dinner here at Thai BBQ a recommendation from an IG post we recently seen about one of their House Specials the S1 - BBQ Chicken. We had to check it out. We ordered their S1 BBQ Chicken dinner special for two people for $25 (fried rice and bbq chicken served as is no choosing specific chicken pieces) and the SA-TE Chicken and Beef combination. Being allergic to shell fish I'm glad they were able to make the fried rice an egg fried rice instead of shrimp fried rice. The food came out hot and fresh. The BBQ Chicken with their homemade red sweet sauce was tasty. Every piece was evenly balanced with the sauce. Extra sauce was given on the side. The Egg Fried rice was good. The SA-TE Chicken and Beef combination with the cucumber jalapeño salad and the peanut sauce was perfect and good. Clean dining room and friendly service. We will be back again to try other dishes.

I gave this place 3 stars only - room for improvements. Food is great - no complaints about it. The portion? I would say food for two but of course it depends on how hungry you are the day you order it. Place - it's a typical dine-in area. Nothing too fancy but ok for mid-size groups. Customer Service - it's actually ok; nothing to tackle too much due to the pandemic situation. Waiting time - (Ok, here we go...) a lot of room for improvements. I understand the grilling time takes time but a 30-minute window for waiting time is a bit stressful. Also, I had experienced a 2-3hrs waiting time for food is a bit beyond even for the volume of customers I believe that much is a bit of a wait. Again, a lot of room for improvements and hey, this is a great place to eat except the fact of the waiting time??? I will definitely come back, so brace yourself - be sure you eat a little pika-pika on your way to this restaurant. read more

Okay, quick review because I tried something different... the egg rolls are freaking amazing! I ate 2 of the 4 driving home and they were so hot (heat) that I burnt my tongue, but I was totally okay with the collateral damage because they are delicious. It was full of meat meat meat. I no longer want egg rolls with filler from now on. Well actually, I'm ONLY eating egg rolls from THIS PLACE for the rest of my life! Oh we also had honey duck. My daughter loved it! Wow wow wow!!!! Absolutely delicious food! The minute I opened the bag I could tell from the aroma that this was going to be one delicious meal! This place is still the same, filthy and rude. My coworkers ordered for pick up (of course I already forewarned them and no I didn't order anything because I knew it was going to be crap) and the food was not ready, they waited for another 28 mins which meant the food was never fired up. They started eating at the office and of course they got hair in their food! Yup not pieces of glass like I got the last time but they got hair. Been coming here over 10 years and recently it's been really bad! Food takes longer then 30 minutes to come out (only 2 tables seated). When you crave for thai bbq chicken this is the best place to go! even their bbq ribs are so yummy and so tender ! Som Tum (papaya salad) is the best! i usually ordered medium spicy and thats so perfect for me. When I'm feeling under the weather, all I want is spicy Thai food. Thankfully, Thai BBQ delivers- literally. I don't even have to leave my house to get my culinary cure on. Google the latest Eat24 discount code for a couple bucks off and you'll be eating within an hour. The menu is huge, but you can't go wrong with the chicken tom kha soup- I get it extra spicy and it clears up all my congestion and the flavors are comforting. Love how this is one of the few versions in the city that isn't packed with scraps of lemongrass and chunks of ginger I have to keep picking out. The lunch specials (also available for delivery) are under $10, generously portioned, and way better than the usual standard specials- think steamed ginger fish, grilled salmon tamarind, and garlic short ribs. My guy always goes for the crab fried rice though, because it's consistently good. read more

Just like I remember from back home in Los Angeles. I'm so glad I found one here in Las Vegas. They BBQ chicken is still delicious the sweet candy sauce is so good. You would think Thai food would be super spicy, well not here. The food here is all enjoyable without the spice, unless you ask for it. Their famous for the BBQ chicken with a very sweet side sauce. If you like sweet n sour you'll like this. The Thai Ice tea is the best I've ever had. We also ordered wings, ribs, chicken mushroom coconut soup and some egg rolls. It was all amazing finger licking good! We didn't even take pictures of the food it was so good. I recommend this restaurant because of the food. The servers were very nice and helpful. We've been frequenting Thai BBQ for quite some time but just now remembered that I've never left an updated review. Very similar to if not the same franchise called The Original Thai BBQ in Cerritos, CA, their menus and flavours are identical in taste which is a good thing. We usually get their chicken sa-te dinner (which includes a side of shrimp fried rice, peanut sauce, cucumber salad), the pad thai noodles with either shrimp or chicken (a Thai cuisine staple!) and their savoury Thai barbecue chicken dinner. There's now a lot of Thai restaurants in Vegas compared to the early days of moving here but we keep coming back to this place because they're the only place that doesn't make the pad thai overly sweet like the others do and the sa-te is never overcooked, always juicy and tender. If there's one thing I'd recommend is that they update the interior into something befitting the Thai-style atmosphere that The Original Thai BBQ has, but other than that everything else is pretty good including the attentive and friendly service! read more

Will not be coming back to this place. The lady that served us our soup put it very close to my 5 year old daughter when there is still a place further in the table to put it too. I told her and she frowned at me. Food took long to be served and the serving appeared to be little than the usual amount when I dine here. Food was amazing for a first timer here. My love and I both enjoyed everything we order. We got the Thai jerky for appetizers, we devoured it. The flavor was not over powering with the sauce they provided. It was just the right amount to taste. The ribs was bomb, soft off the bone. The Original Thai BBQ has been a family favorite and go-to, because it's very similar to the Thai restaurant we grew up eating in L.A. The usual: Tom Yum Soup spice level 4, S1 BBQ chicken (no other Thai place has the sauce they have; it tastes so good with their fried rice), S8 Beef Sa-te, beef panang and their chicken Pad see-ew. My mom had dined here with her friend and RAVED about their ribs. She begged for us kids to go back with her the next day. We were a bit skeptical due to the average rating, but she wasn't having a great vacation so we just let her have this one. We went for lunch. They were able to sit all of 8 of us right away. Several people from my group ordered the Thai iced tea and said it was good. We ordered a large Tom yum soup, noodle dishes, beef and bbq chicken. My mom was so excited to order the ribs. 20 mins after we ordered, the server came back to inform us that they were absolutely out of ribs and said, "we're not serving it today." My mom was highly upset...1) The place is called "Thai BBQ" (emphasis on BBQ) 2) the server should've known and informed us of this even before we placed our order 3) It wasn't even noon and it was a Tuesday... On top of that, the wait for the food was extremely long. And they brought out the dishes one by one and we were all hungry so we all started at different times. The last dish to arrive was my brother's, and it arrived as everyone else was finishing up. Just unacceptable. The server blurted a meager apology but didn't offer some kind of comp/discount/dessert/anything else that could've made up for it. Such a shame because the food was actually really good. I got combination drunken noodles and my brothers ate off of my plate. It was the right amount of spicy and better than my go-to place back home. Portions were great and everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. But our experience was tainted by the ridiculous wait time and the fact that they weren't as apologetic as they should've been. read more

Ordered delivery through Doordash. We ordered BBQ Chiken, Ribs, and Tom Yum soup. Everything was overly sweet. I know it's BBQ but I dont think they're supposed to be that sweet. Thai BBQ is a franchise based in California. I first saw them in LA and was intrigued, but didn't have time to stop in. Thanks to my cousin, I finally lunched at a Thai BBQ! This restaurant is in a small shopping center, and is the sole non-California Thai BBQ. Inside, a Christmas tree greeted us, and holiday music played. There was enough space to handle a light crowd, yet it wasn't crowded. (It was Friday but I guess their dining room thins out around 1 o'clock?) Our server waited patiently for my cousin to finish a call (checking in every so often) before taking our orders. When I couldn't decide between the mint chicken or moo pad prigking, he convinced me to get the latter. My entree's grounded up chicken was the perfect texture, aromatic, and piping hot, and the mint was a nice touch. The chili wasn't as peppery as I preferred, a problem easily solved by the liberal application of table spices. I worried that I was given too much rice, but was proven wrong by the end of the meal. It's not uber-authentic burn-your-colon Thai, but it's perfectly acceptable for lunch. I left full and happy and so did my wallet - they're not terribly expensive. read more

Plenty of parking on a Friday night but the place look sketch outside. Between 2 people, ordered the Papaya salad, BBQ ribs, and chicken panang curry. The BBQ ribs comes with shrimp fried rice and the curry comes with some rice too. Decent portions on the papaya salad. Got medium spicy and had a good amount of kick to it. Tasted clean and fresh. BBQ ribs comes with 4 pieces. The sauce was pretty good. Not too over-powering and not too salty. Meat came off the bones easily. Chicken panang curry was good. Good amount of curry and chicken. Flavor wasn't too strong and went well with the rice. Got medium spicy and it was still fairly spicy. Food was great. Only thing I didn't like was that the portion size for the rice weren't that big. read more

~°*Solid piece of advice*°~ DON'T EVEN BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME HERE!!! Several reasons: #1. They think you're dumb enough to pay for dinner prices even though it's clearly lunch time. We went for lunch at 11:30. The menu book has a special *Lunch Menu*. (correction: pad Thai is not on the lunch menu. Coincidentally one of the most commonly ordered items on the menu) and when I went to the front to pay, because even though the place was nearly empty and the waitress walked past us several times, i finally decided that I better go myself and pay instead of waste my work day waiting for someone to bring the check. #2. The place is absolutely filthy. My understanding is that if you aren't busy doing your job, then you should at least be cleaning and making your place of business appealing and safe feeling for your customers. The floor looks like it hasn't even been mopped for years. I can tell they sweep it, but that is it. Don't bring your little kids or your grandparents who may have an immune system that can't handle a little dirt and a few thousand germs and possibly viruses. #3. The service is terrible. I had to fetch the wait staff myself to order. As a few customers started coming in for the later part of the lunch crowd the waitress passed us several times to seat customers and bring plates. She did ask how our food was. I'll give her that, but don't drink your beverage too fast (ya it's the desert, you're thirsty) because I doubt they give refills. On the way out, as I was paying at the desk instead of at the table because I couldn't sit and wait any longer for the waitress to bring us the tab, i did ask for a refill to go on one of our drinks and they gave it to me. Even provided a straw! #4. The food sucks. It really does. One thing you can count on, for sure is that you'll be disappointed. And I was pretty hungry so that should have tricked me a little bit to make the food taste better, but nope, that's how bad it was. And it really is too bad because I've been looking for a good Thai place to go to since I'm fairly new in town. As bland as Thai food can possibly get, this is it. If your tastebuds are shot and you don't mind being over charged, this is the place to go. Hands down. The pad Thai, which is probably one of the most commonly ordered dishes in any Thai restaurant, had absolutely no garnishment and the only veggies were bean sprouts. Usually a pad Thai dish comes with green onion, carrot, red Thai chili peppers, peanuts (ok it had a pinch of crushed peanut), lime slice and cilantro. It looked like an angry, overworked, underappreciated, cook slopped some sauced noodles and bean sprouts on the plate and called it, not lunch, but 'from the dinner menu'. We all ordered 3 star spicy. Each plate had a different amount of spice level even though we all requested the same level of spiciness. Mine had zero spice, the next had a little and the third plate was good. (And no, i aint Goldilocks, and i didn't see any three bears) The short ribs had a few drops of sauce, the pad Thai was incredibly sweet, yet bland and the fried rice was ok. 5. Incredibly overpriced for bad food, dirty restaurant and nearly non existant service with a major language barrier and bad attitude from the lady at the cash register when asking for a first time refill on iced tea. She played dumb when I brought it to her attention that she charged dinner prices for lunch time. That's when the language barrier got really bad, nearly impossible to communicate. There was no point in discussing it over and over in different ways until they understood or admitted they over charged. I could keep going on about how pissed off, disgusted and disappointed I still am, 3 days later, but I'll spare the poor soul who has stuck with me to read my entire review and I really would rather spend my time looking up reviews for a good Thai place to make my new regular, go to place to go eat Thai food that I can also recommend to anyone and be confident that they will agree with me. I have been coming here for years. Service has always been great for lunch or dinner. Recently I visited the establishment at around 9:30pm knowing they closed at 11pm, sad to say but the service was not the typical service we receive. The food was rushed, not flavored as the typical delicious food we are used to. I'm guessing this only happens when the owners/managers aren't there, every other time we go there we see the owners and everything is great. In conclusion, if the managers/owners aren't there.. taste and service will lack. I will definitely stick to going there for lunch or early dinner. read more

My friends and i are regulars at the place, we come once a week and have dinner. The lady that is the server at night is really nice, and always has a smile on her face. We go there so much she already knows our orders. Needless to say free thai iced tea. Chicken Pai tai and chicken sa tai are my #1 dinner plates, Cant miss the coconut shrimp soup on the side. I highly recommend this place for family, friends or even couples . Great atmosphere and vibe. read more
