My mom had dined here with her friend and RAVED about their ribs. She begged for us kids to go back with her the next day. We were a bit skeptical due to the average rating, but she wasn't having a great vacation so we just let her have this one. We went for lunch. They were able to sit all of 8 of us right away. Several people from my group ordered the Thai iced tea and said it was good. We ordered a large Tom yum soup, noodle dishes, beef and bbq chicken. My mom was so excited to order the ribs. 20 mins after we ordered, the server came back to inform us that they were absolutely out of ribs and said, "we're not serving it today." My mom was highly upset...1) The place is called "Thai BBQ" (emphasis on BBQ) 2) the server should've known and informed us of this even before we placed our order 3) It wasn't even noon and it was a Tuesday... On top of that, the wait for the food was extremely long. And they brought out the dishes one by one and we were all hungry so we all started at different times. The last dish to arrive was my brother's, and it arrived as everyone else was finishing up. Just unacceptable. The server blurted a meager apology but didn't offer some kind of comp/discount/dessert/anything else that could've made up for it. Such a shame because the food was actually really good. I got combination drunken noodles and my brothers ate off of my plate. It was the right amount of spicy and better than my go-to place back home. Portions were great and everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. Thai BBQ is a franchise based in California. I first saw them in LA and was intrigued, but didn't have time to stop in. Thanks to my cousin, I finally lunched at a Thai BBQ! This restaurant is in a small shopping center, and is the sole non-California Thai BBQ. Inside, a Christmas tree greeted us, and holiday music played. There was enough space to handle a light crowd, yet it wasn't crowded. (It was Friday but I guess their dining room thins out around 1 o'clock?) Our server waited patiently for my cousin to finish a call (checking in every so often) before taking our orders. When I couldn't decide between the mint chicken or moo pad prigking, he convinced me to get the latter. My entree's grounded up chicken was the perfect texture, aromatic, and piping hot, and the mint was a nice touch. The chili wasn't as peppery as I preferred, a problem easily solved by the liberal application of table spices. I worried that I was given too much rice, but was proven wrong by the end of the meal. We've been frequenting Thai BBQ for quite some time but just now remembered that I've never left an updated review. Very similar to if not the same franchise called The Original Thai BBQ in Cerritos, CA, their menus and flavours are identical in taste which is a good thing. We usually get their chicken sa-te dinner (which includes a side of shrimp fried rice, peanut sauce, cucumber salad), the pad thai noodles with either shrimp or chicken (a Thai cuisine staple!) and their savoury Thai barbecue chicken dinner. There's now a lot of Thai restaurants in Vegas compared to the early days of moving here but we keep coming back to this place because they're the only place that doesn't make the pad thai overly sweet like the others do and the sa-te is never overcooked, always juicy and tender. If there's one thing I'd recommend is that they update the interior into something befitting the Thai-style atmosphere that The Original Thai BBQ has, but other than that everything else is pretty good including the attentive and friendly service! read more

It was nice to try something different. I don't think that I have a taste for Thai food but the food wasn't bad. We ordered the garlic short ribs and shrimp & vegetable tempura. I gave this place a 3/5 because the service was decent and the food was good. Overall the restaurant itself is in an old space so it might've contributed to the smell you first smell when you enter the restaurant. Doesn't look too welcoming from the outside since it's a bit shabby but I wouldn't let it deter you too much. We ordered two rib plates for lunch with fried rice. The ribs were nice probably a 7/10. The rice, however, was a pure -1000000. It was so thick and mush-like, you couldn't even tell that it was RICE. I've never felt so disrespected by a dish in my entire life. Their service was ok too.
