I figured since the regular green chile wasn't working, we should try something different, Thai food it is! We went around 2 pm and were greeted promptly. We ordered the Green Curry with Chicken and the Panang Curry with Chicken. The food was out quickly and serving sizes were pretty large. I got medium spice and she got mild. The medium was good and not too bad, just enough to make your nose run mildly. Unfortunately, it didn't do the trick for me to induce labor. Maybe I need the hot! Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon so I knew it wasn't going to be too busy. It's a brand new restaurant so everything is clean and well put together. Menu is fairly large, typical Thai food options with some unique offerings for appetizers. Unfortunately the appetizers all seem large and they don't have half orders. Not good for solo diners so I'll have to go back with friends. My measure of authenticity is Pad Thai. It's typical, but if done well then you know the rest of the menu is decent. At first, I was taken aback by my plate. It looked like a package and all of the typical accompaniments were on the side. I realized the wrap was egg, usually mixed in with the noodles. Very cool! We needed a quick place to eat and went for 4th of July. I absolutely love the chicken noodles and my daughter loves the Thai fried rice with extra veggies. The shrimp was mediocre and lacked that flavor punch I was looking for but the chicken noodles flavor made up for it. I typically order out and this was the first time I didn't use a delivery service for their food. The restaurant is very clean and the servers were attentive. The only reasons for deduction of one star is the wait times for take out can be more than one hour, and that sometimes you can't get through on the phone to place an order. Although the most recent order only took 30 min. Great food especially the green curry and the pineapple fried rice! But if you request brown rice as a substitute it costs additional $2 or more. read more

Delicious meal! I had the pineapple red curry with shrimp and it was fabulous! Portion size and prices were satisfactory. Lots of tempting and delicious items in the menu I'd like to try so I plan on going back soon. Decided to come here for brunch with some family and we came a good time before it got packed! The staff was nice and friendly. My family each got curry. They got the Pineapple Chicken, Green Curry, and Massaman Curry. I wish I took a picture of before they all dug in, but it looked so good and we were all hungry. I got the drunken noodles with beef and it was delicious! Noodles are mr favorite! We also got the Crab Rangoon and Goong Ka Borg for our appetizer and that was yummy! Their Mango Sticky Rice sounded good too! I'll have to try that next time when I'm not super full. read more

I loved Thai Boran. The Pad Thai is always the first thing I order at a Thai restaurant because I love glass noodles and this place didn't disappoint. If you order on site they will serve it in an egg crepe and it was delicious. We also ordered chicken noodles and pineapple fried rice. The food was delicious and I will return again. Prices were very reasonable and they serve a good amount of food. I ordered medium chili, but honestly, I could have gotten hotter. They did bring extra chili just in case. Desserts were great and very refreshing. Small restaurant space, so with COVID restrictions - be prepared to wait. Ask for the daily specials when you order over the phone, they aren't listed on the website! There were food and dessert specials posted inside the restaurant when I picked up. Gyoza had a delicious, unique, gingery dipping sauce. Tofu Pad Thai was solid and the huge egg crepe it's covered in was a unique presentation that I haven't seen at other Thai restaurants in the area. It might help keep the noodles warm too... Veggie Spring/Fresh Rolls have carrots, lettuce and rice noodles. We prefer rolls with some herbs like mint or basil and bean sprouts too so won't order this again. Beef salad had great flavors (lime, chile, cilantro) but a lot of the beef pieces were chewy and not tender. Ordered mild but would kick up the spice a notch to medium next time. Ginger (breaded) fried Catfish was our favorite! Ordered mild and that was enough spice with the natural bite of the generous ginger pieces. Colorful bell pepper made for an eye catching dish. The breading did not get soggy even after a few hours of sitting in the sauce. Fish itself was flaky and tasted great - no 'fishy' smell/flavor. read more

My husband and I were served the glass noodle Thai salad on a large plate in the middle of our table. Each of us had a fork, nothing else. We didn't have our own plates, forks or knives. No serving utensils for the salad. We were supposed to lean over and eat from the plate set in the middle of the table. I don't recommend this restaurant. I leaned over, speared a large knob of noodles, tried to swallow it, and spent the next twenty minutes choking on it. I thought that someone would have to call an ambulance. A friend recommended this place so I took a chance and tried it. I ordered the Yellow Curry with steamed tofu to go. First the positive- the yellow curry had a good flavor and was mild as requested. The tofu was good however the potatoes were barely cooked. The main issue I had was the higher cost ($15.00) for less food than I usually receive at other Thai restaurants. The container only held 3 cups vs. the usual 4 cup container (I measured) and a much smaller container for the rice. Very disappointing and I will not be back. read more

We were excited to order out at one of our favorite Thai places. Sadly we were disappointed. We understand the increase to menu items however was not expecting lack of main ingredients in the beef salad. I'd recommend if you choose to charge $14 for a beef salad there should be enough to call it as such or any dish for that matter. I want to start by saying I've eaten here many times and have gotten takeout twice. Today I ordered nearly $70 worth of takeout and was extremely disappointed with the lack of portion size given for the cost. My good friend told me how good this place was. So finally I had lunch there today at 12:30pm. The waiter was very nice as was the greeter. I ordered the "Eggplant, Thai style". With fried tofu and steamed vegetables. This dish was priced at $14 dollars and I had high hopes, I love eggplant. The food came on a small rectangular plate with about two scoops of food. First of all it was dry, no sauce just small chunks of tofu, eggplant and green stringy vegetables. The presentation was pitiful. My first thought was that's a tiny amount of vegetables for $14 dollars. My first taste was that the food was stone cold. The stringy greens all over the dish was not trimmed and the stems were super tough and unable to be chewed. I ordered hot, not ". "Thai hot", just being cautious. I tasted no hot, no spices. WTF. I wasn't in the mood to make a fuss. I paid my bill and tipped my nice waiter well but this food was outrageously bad. This food was a pitiful excuse for a Thai dish. I generally stick to what I know but went with the red curry seafood dish for something different. So glad I did! Pretty sure there was seafood in every bite ... mussels (huge), shrimp, scallops, calamari, and the curry added just the right bite!! Curry comes mild, medium and hot ... Wife had the spicy mango chicken that was perfectly cooked! The chicken was fried but the chicken still moist with the grilled mango. Shared the crab Rangoon and will do it again! Thai Boran is amazing! This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Abq - the restaurant has a great atmosphere and I've never had any issues with orders from here. I've had the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, Thai Fried Rice, and Pad See Ew. My favorite of what I've had so far is probably the Pad See Ew, with Panang Curry at a close second! My parents have also had the BBQ Pork Spare Ribs and they LOVE them - they said they're better than every BBQ restaurant in the Albuquerque area! read more

Over the past three (3) years I've come here for three of my favorite dishes, spicy basil w/grand chicken, Spicy Noodles with Chicken and the sticky rice. I have a feeling the original owners have sold the place because the last two times it's been a total disappointment. The Spicy Noodles no longer has the crispy romaine that used to accompany the dish in abundance, now you'd be lucky to find two leaves. Also the Spicy Basil with chicken has lost the original deep colored tasty sauce and now looks more gravy colored with a slimy mouth feel. Today I also ordered the papaya salad that I occasionally order and at least that was decent if nothing else. You couldn't even taste the Basil in the spicy basil because of that Gravy sauce it was in. Occasionally I would enjoy their Ramen's but haven't tried it for six (6) months or so and I'm afraid I won't ever again. As I said, either it was sold to another owner or they removed the previous cook's they had. First time here at this restaurant. I'm sure this  We didn't know if they were open for indoor dining during this time. Went there on a Sunday right when they opened. One of the first families there. Glad we were able to sit inside the restaurant and not outside. It was a cold day that afternoon. Greeted by courteous servers and was seated right away. Limited indoor seating but the decor was nice and welcoming. Looked over the menu and there were so many options. They had many items to choose from and it was really hard to select the ones that we wanted to try. Since we wanted to try them all. But we decided we would try the Tofu Tod (fried pieces of tofu) served with sweet and sour sauce along with ground peanuts. That was definitely tasty because the tofu was really crispy. Next we just went ahead and ordered our entrees. We tried the Pineapple Curry with jasmine rice and Pad Thai noodles with chicken served in an egg wrap. When we eat at a Thai restaurant, we always opt for the Panang Curry and the Pad Thai. This time, we decided to try the Pineapple Curry. A very interesting flavor of pineapple and spice. It was recommended by our waiter. Good choice of entree that is for sure. Thoroughly enjoyed that one. As for the Pad Thai noodles, again they were served in an egg crepe. The first I've ever seen. The Pad Thai was good but I've had better. The chicken was just a little on the dry side for me. Maybe i'll try another entree the next time we visit. I have been frequenting Thai Boran since they opened near my house. They had been stellar for both dine in and take out. The last time that we ordered carry out, the portions were incredibly small and the food was meh. I thought maybe they were just having an off night. So this evening we ordered red Thai curry and Pad Thai with veggies. The curry was below average and the Pad Thai was inedible. It was greasy and had no veggies other than a few scallions and carrot slices. Even if had wanted to eat it, there wasn't even a full serving.
