We did take out, and although I'm giving a lot of leeway to some restaurants during Covid, this place is always take out so they don't really have any excuses. It was just plain bad. The Panang and red curries were so runny, it was like they were made with water instead of any coconut milk. The noodles were super mushy and really kind of gross. The food is quite good. We like the Massaman Curry and Drunken Noodles the best. The service is very hit or miss. IMPORTANT: You cannot order over the phone and they will often just let the phones ring or disconnect them because "wE'rE jUsT 2 bUSy!". It's infuriating at times if you need to get ahold of them - like me when they forgot part of my order. I let it go after the 20th call that was busy. Today we went back in to give it another shot. I wasn't able to call and mention the missing Thai Coffee again (surprise surprise) and I ordered online and paid. After arriving I mentioned the missing drink and inability to get ahold of anyone the last time I tried. Stoner bro handing good off at the door wasn't really helpful. Short of a "Yea, man, that sucks" and and offer to get me an EXTRA coffee this time around was the only solution offered. When I mentioned that I don't want an extra coffee and asked if there was any way to come the existing one or get a coupon for the future I was ignored. Worst service yet. The service is a five star. The freshness of the food is 5 stars, the cleanliness; 5 stars.... the taste? maybe it was just what I ordered that was kinda tasteless. I ordered Thai Chow Mein, mild. This was 1 star. The noodles were slightly underdone, and the sauce was just too plain teriyaki-like flavor, and not much depth. I'll try something else next time. The box like container the food comes in - not great to eat out of. The cheap bendy fork doesn't work too well with this food. Decent portions with good flavor for a reasonable price, but certainly more fast food style than other Thai places. I do have to warn people, I've been ordering here since they opened, started with the medium spice but that became too weak, hot wasn't exactly where I wanted, have been ordering Thai hot (I get medium to medium hot at every Thai location I go to) and it was perfect. In the past I have had good meals from here but my latest experience was bad! There is a line from Seinfeld that says anybody can take a reservation but you need to hold the reservation. Apparently anyone can take an order at Thai chili but for me they lost the order! I ordered on the app and showed up at the restaurant on time. Was told it would be about 20 minutes more. No problem. When I return back to the restaurant I was told they had lost my order! I had to wait another 20 minutes for my order of two meals. We tried this as take away for the first time last night and were SO disappointed. We got chicken pad Thai and tofu pad see ew and the veggie egg rolls. The egg rolls were the only good thing about the meal! They were tasty. But the pad Thai and pad see ew had NO flavor. They looked like they were the dishes they were supposed to be but had no flavor! Pad see ew in particular was just like oil noodles. I added two packets of soy sauce and some sriracha and it still did nothing! Pad Thai and pad see ew is pretty standard fare so should be at least decent. Portion sizes also pretty small. Good Thai food. We've had the chicken pad Thai, drunken noodle chicken, beef and chicken paneng curry, pot stickers and the Tom yum soup. All very good and fresh! Spicy means SPICY so I recommend mild and adding hot sauce unless you like it very spicy. Most dishes come with a side of white or brown rice or noodles. We call in our order and pick it up. We have seen other customers there frustrated that their order has taken over 50 minutes but we have never had that problem. Highly recommend for fast food/to go Thai food. The dishes are splittable- I recommend getting a few main dishes and splitting like family style. read more

Short story: Dara Thai in anthem is way better, I'll not be replacing it as my local Thai place. Longer version: I saw the sign on the outside say "Thai chili" but didn't notice the "to go" emphasis until inside. I ordered to eat in (there are 8 tables in the restaurant) but after asking for water a second time (they were busy) and then getting luke warm water, complete w a hair in it, in a McDonalds sized (very small) water cup, it became clear this place is not a sit down place. Fast food places at least have access to cold water or a refill station but here the fountain drinks are behind the counter or there are 20oz bottles in a fridge, which is what they seem to be pushing. Lesson learned; if I come back it will be "to go", but for my money Dara Thai is a much better value, even if taking out. That said the taste of each dish was fine overall. Heat options: mild was spice-less, medium was what I consider mild, hot was legit hot and very hot also as advertised. read more

After an hour and a half waiting for our order it arrived. (The pickup driver waited 45 minutes and our food wasn't ready, so he left and had to go back). Our food arrived without any of the three rices that we ordered and paid for. Three curries with no rice. The restaurant said they couldn't do anything about it. But it was their mistake. They forgot to give them the bag. So we were left without rice. That we'd paid for it. And they had no interest in getting us rice. We like to support local businesses in our area, but this place has some customer service, timeliness, and organization issues to work out if it hopes to succeed. I got the massaman with chicken and I loved it. The staff there is so nice. I'll be back but never getting that soup again, waste of money :( I couldn't even eat it. I like spice with flavor and as I said just like drinking chili water which is not enjoyable. Wanted to drop a start because when a guest says their food is inedible and owner just comments thanks for review. Not great customer service and I'll definitely be visiting less frequently. Horrible Customer Service, Dove Valley Location! Placed an on-line order as I usually do and went to pick up my order and brought it home. When I I was unpacking the bag of food, I was missing part of my order. I called the restaurant and spoke with someone, who stated that they were not going to refund my order and if I wanted.. I would have to go out of my way to go back to pick up what was missing. After going back and forth over the phone with someone who claimed to be the manager about the matter, I was told that I would receive a full refund and I should see it on my credit card statement within a few days. Well low and behold, NO refund was ever given. I have been a regular customer since they opened the restaurant and due to the type of service I have received from this ONE incident, I will not be ordering from this place ever again! Very poor customer service!!! IF YOUR PICKING UP FOOD, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING THE RESTAURANT TO AVOID AGGRAVATION.
