The service was quick and attentive, but the dishes lacked flavor! I ordered the pad see ew, tom yum noodle soup, and satay chicken and didn't love any of it. Pad see ew needs more seasoning, tom yum was way too sweet, not sour or spicy enough (even though I ordered medium spice), satay chicken was okay. However, I did enjoy the pickled cucumbers and peanut sauce that came with the satay chicken. I honestly wouldn't come back, as there are better Thai restaurants around South Bay. I always order the yellow curry with chicken. It has coconut milk, potatoes, and carrots. I make my own brown rice and it is my favorite! I would have given them 5 stars, but their x's on the floor confuse people when entering and you are not sure who is next in line and who is waiting for their food. Dinner on Friday night. Hits: (1) Roti with curry sauce appetizer. Roti was oily but it was very tasty. Had to not think of the calories. (2) Yellow Chicken Curry: tasty. Food was a disappointment, dishes had the feel that they were assembled rather than cooked. Meat and veggies were just added to the sauce and served. Chicken felt like it was reheated multiple times. I made a big order the day before to pickup around opening and they were very gracious in handling the orders for food sensitivities. The chicken pad Thai I ordered didn't taste that fresh. Something about it was off. It wasn't the tofu, chicken, or vegetables, so I think it was the sauce. It was a little to thick & a little to sweet. The noodles were a little thinner than I'm used to as well. I don't like to give small businesses a bad review, but I'll never go back to a place that serves food that's less than fresh or tasty. Ultimate Thai restaurant go to in the South Bay. They have amazing appetizers like the roti and chicken satay. The best main entrees for cold weather are the Tom kha and Tom yum soup! Ordered a simple thail basil stir fry and spicy fried rice... both with veg & tofu... They did honor our request of not adding fish/oyster sauce in both dishes.. Fried rice tasted better than the stir fry in terms of sauce... Both dishes were quite oily when compared to other places.. Portion size was very small for the pricing.. The tofu looked liked it was fried twice (hard, thick layer of exterior).. Tofu in both dishes was also flavorless. Almost like cooked it separately and added at the last moment.. While this done often, tofu in both dishes did not imbibe any of the sauce/ flavor of the dish.. Overall, will not come back. read more

What I like: When you order spicy, they actually mean spicy! I like how they have additional spices and chili for you to add to your liking. There's a lot of variety on the menu and I have tried the: Pad Thai, Pad Se Ew, Tom Yum Noodle Soup, Yellow Curry Chicken, and Spicy Crab Noodles. The food is consistent in flavor which I appreciate. What I didn't like: Sometimes the service here can be horrible! Usually during the evening hours when there are more people, the kitchen gets backed up really badly and that means you may be sitting for awhile before food is served. Food is also brought out right away so you may have situations where some people are still waiting on food while others are eating/letting their food go cold. The staff usually will huddle near the kitchen and not walk around or check up on you unless you flag them down. Verdict: I usually go when I want a Thai restaurant (versus "fast food" places like Thai Lovers or Thai Elephant). The food is good so if you're in the neighborhood, check it out. Try not to go at dinner time unless you're super patient and have some time to kill. read more

The Spiciness is inconsistent everytime I come. Sometime too spicy to eat, and sometimes I have to add the whole container of Chilli. Over all the food is A-OK! The service is OK as well, when I needed something I would raise my hand in the direction of the waitress and nod, and she would come bouncing over..literally. This dish was so delicious comparable to my favorite basil duck fried rice at Hayward's Siam Palace. For a fried rice dish, the rice was not overwhelmingly oily or fatty, big plus. The beef itself was somewhat dry and overcooked but usually with Thai places, the meats are overcooked especially chicken. But I craved beef too much and caved. The spices and seasoning were perfect. I could taste the basil consistently throughout the whole dish. I ordered Medium spicy and it was actually somewhat mild for me. I've tried Hot-Thai Hot before and regretted it. So moral of the spicy story is to order one level down cause you can always add spices. Also tried bits of my friends' pad see ew and kee mao and they were good too. Chicken was dry but negligible. The Thai tea was sweet and perfect tasting. If you are craving for it, go for it! Overall service was speedy and friendly and the server even took time to answers my questions about the spicy levels. She ended up bringing a spice rack for me but since the dish was perfect, no need :) I am so relieved and overjoyed Thai Grata has upped its game! When i used to work for Doordash, i came to this place and right off the bat the loved the customer service whether if youre a customer or a person to pick up their customers food. It didnt matter who you were! idk if its just me but all the workers in this place are women which i find pretty cool! even the cook is female usually itd be a dude flippin pans back there but this one was just straight it woman power. So i went today here with my sister to have lunch and AGAIN right off the bat this sweet lady greeted us with such a sweet genuine smile. We got seated and of course got some thai teas. I love Thai food and since i moved to san jose ive been trying to explore and find my go-to Thai place and i think i just found MY ONE! I don't know why everyone says they give out such small portions -- it is the same as anywhere else I've been like Thai Orchid, Thai Pepper, House of Siam, Krung Thai, Bangkok Thai, etc. I went in with my guy around 2:56 pm on a Thursday (today!). The service was interesting (not in a good way) it seemed pushy and not genuinely freindly. We were recommended many dishes that we weren't particularly interested in and the waitress seemed to be in a hurry during our order. The Tom Yum Soup had lots of seafood, but bland and watery. The pad thai was overwhelmingly sweet. The Pompano was good, steamed well with a good sauce! Tamarind Stir Fry was okay, it's a stir fry. Best thing about the meal was the Pompano and Thai Tea. Everything was sugar laden, it was lacking balance that you would expect from Thai food. The sweet, savory, spicy and salt factors were all out of wack. I have stopped by here a couple times for dinner with my Aunt. I have tried the red and green curries with chicken and the basil beef. The curries are great, served with lots of vegetables (bamboo shoots, Bell peppers, onions, and Thai basil) and a generous portion of chicken. I also get a side of steamed brown rice, the rice is well cooked, sometimes I find that places will undercook brown rice but that is not the case here. On my last trip my Aunt ordered the Basil beef, since I had never had it before she let me try some. It was really tasty, it came with a good amount of beef served with onions and bell peppers and a sauce that was both spicy and sweet. I went here with Anthony P and his girlfriend a while back so I will keep this brief. The green curry was flavorful and abundant but was not spicy as Anthony P had asked for. The pad thai was on the sour side is an understatement. I was really disappointed in the flavor and would not order that again. As for my main dish, the BBQ chicken was mushy, bland and the skin was soggy. The disappointing part was the chicken actually looked good but tasted horrible.
