We had their lunch specials, pad Thai and the green curry, both of which had great flavor and the perfect amount of salt and spice/hot (you can choose the level of spice you want). I just went there for my birthday and ordered the cashew chicken. It was delicious! Since it was my birthday they came out with this ice cream dessert for everyone that was very tasty!. Did not expect to find a good Thai restaurant in a town this size; great surprise! We tried it because a local recommended it. Pad Thai had lots of white chicken meat & the portion was huge. You can order 'hot' on a scale from 1-5. It's on the mild side compared to what I'm used to, however a variety of hot chilies can be brought to your table for more zing if you need it. I ordered 2 (mild-med) & thought it was pretty mild. It was really tasty tho, & the service was very good. read more

This restaurant is newly opened where a failed Greek restaurant was for about a year. I hope it succeeds! It adds some needed variety to the choices in Alamosa. We had very good service and good food. My party tried pad thai with chicken, green curry with shrimp, Massaman curry with pork. All good. For my taste, a bit more sugar than would have been used for Thais eating the same food. I hope that this gesture to the American palate will be eliminated, but basically, a nice place, reasonably priced, good food, attentive service. A nice feature of their menu is that you can mix-and-match your protein source and your desired level of hotness for any dish. Please give it a try and encourage them! read more

The Panang Curry is pretty darn good! The owner is VERY nice as compared to another establishment in our town which name shall remain nameless, but rhymes with Who-Man. I am glad to have an alternative asian restaurant that offers sushi, and with an owner who truly cares about building relationships with their customers. I haven't eaten here in over a year and won't return anytime soon. Decor is nice. Waited over a half an hour for prepackaged frozen egg rolls and another fifteen minutes for prepackaged frozen calamari with no other customers in the restaurant. Entree of chicken panang was ok. Overall, high priced for the quality and expectations of real Thai food :/ For your money there are definitely better choices within walking distance. read more

Just passing through town and stopped here due to the reviews and rating on yelp. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed. Good Thai food is hard to find. Food here was ok but a little bland. We ordered 2 curry dishes and sushi. Curry dishes at 2 and 3 spiciness were bland and had no heat at all. Sushi rolls were ok, but the quality and freshness of the fish was iffy. read more

This was a really great eating experience. My family and I went on a Monday for lunch, and the service was wonderful and our food came out quickly. We got a whole array of foods from sushi to noodles to curry. All good. At all Thai places, I grade the food by the Tom Kha soup and the Pad see ew. Both were great. 5 star worthy joint! read more

I came here with my girlfriend when we were in town from Denver to visit the Sand Dunes, and I was so happy to find a well reviewed Thai place, because I wasn't expecting much beyond BBQ and diners. But this place was nothing like the good Thai restaurants in Denver. My girlfriend ordered Pad Thai and I ordered the basic chicken fried rice. Neither of these simple dishes should be messed up at a Thai restaurant. Both dishes tasted like they had been drowned in fish sauce. It didn't compliment the other flavors; it just tasted as if all the ingredients had gone off several days before. They were really inedible. To top it off, we had ordered pick-up, and the man at the front of the restaurant who gave us our food was very unfriendly. He didn't greet us, thank us, or anything. We were in on the evening of April 15. His attitude was very off-putting. Because of their unfriendly attitude and fishy food we definitely won't be coming back next time we're in town. read more

Honestly if I could rate this lower than one star I wouldn't even hesitate. The service was just hands down the worst I've ever experienced. There is a restaurant in Durango, CO where the waitresses have insulted me to my face, and I would take that over eating at Thai Hut again. From the moment my girlfriend and I walked in the door it took approximately 15 minutes to be treated and taken to a table. Once there it started to seem fine, we ordered something to drink and some spring rolls as an appetizer. The spring rolls arrive and look delicious at first glance, until we see that one of them has a very VERG long curly black hair all throughout it and even coming out of the spring roll itself. They replaced it of course, and it seemed that would be the last inconvenience. Oh no, we were deceived. From the time we ordered our main entree's it took nearly an hour and 45 minutes to get our food to us. They were having problems with their fryers or something of the sort, which I understand to a degree. But if it's been an hour already and the wait staff isn't doing anything to accommodate or remedy the situation, there is a problem. The food finally gets to us...and the portions are beyond small. I don't exaggerate when I say these were portions for a toddler, as if we ordered a McDonald's happy meal. The $15 pad Thai left MUCH to be desired. I was able to eat it all in only a few bites, and it wasn't even that good. My girlfriends sweet and sour chicken was even worse, it was more or less a tiny pile of frozen vegetables in sauce accompanied by 3 nuggets of chicken. All of this we could have made at home and now I am just regretful I went there. During the entire experience the waitress only checked on us once to say "sorry for the wait," and that was it. At no point after that did she check to see if the food and experience was good or not. At that point I was so mad I just wanted to leave, and so I paid for this craptastic "meal" and left, not feeling bad AT ALL for not tipping. Please, just do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

We were in town visiting the Sand Dunes and wanted something delicious for dinner. Based on Yelp reviews we chose Thai Hut. They did not disappoint! The waitress was wonderful! We are gluten free and she ran back to the kitchen numerous times to make sure the dishes we chose could be done gf. We had Pad Thai, Cashew Chicken, Volcano Chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice and 3 different kinds of sushi. Everything was delicious! We will visit again! read more

Very fresh and tasty treat in the middle of Alamosa. An oasis in this expansive valley. Clean and pleasant atmosphere. We ordered Tom Kha soup with vegetables and Panang Curry with tofu. Great atmosphere (calm, not crazy loud, but not stuffy). I had pad thai with tofu, and loved it so much I had it again later in the week. I don't like spice so I ordered "1" (they have a scale) and it was delicious. Tried the sticky rice for dessert but was too stuffed to finish even though it was delicious (though rich - share with a friend or two). The moscato was really good too.
