My partner and I moved in down the street from this hidden gem. We make it a habit to go here as often as we can, the food is always hot, fresh, flavorful and absolutely addicting. I am vegetarian and gluten free and never have any issues with getting "gluten sick", so they definitely have options for any lifestyle. The ambiance is wonderful. Ordered online for a pick up. Ordered side of white rice, mango sticky rice, beef chow mien and chicken basil stir fry. They forgot to add chicken to my basil stir fry( called and let them know and had it remade) found black small piece of hair on the mango ( no pic) and beef chow mien made my stomach hurt. WHAT A TREAT! If you are in the mood for Thai Takeout this is the move. We ordered the chicken pad thai, beef peanut sauce, honey ribs, and mango sticky rice for dessert. It was so good and the employees were extra careful to make sure they got my order correct. Since being on quarantine my home has ordered quite a bit of take out. We popped in here to grab some Tom Ka soup - we were so looking forward to it. The place looked busy and there seemed to be a lot of happy locals. Sadly, we were sorely disappointed by: Service - took 45 minutes to be served soup & rice. People who ordered after us were getting their food before us. The best local Thai restaurant. I have visited Thai restaurants around the country, this little hole in the wall is authentic as they get. I enjoy the fact that food is always cooked to perfection. Owner uses quality ingredients. Food is cooked in a healthy way with fresh vegetables. We have been ordering food from Thai Hut on a weekly basis for the past four years. Not once we have been disappointed. There was once a slight mistake in order and the owner was more than happy to take care of it on the next one. We love supporting our local business. The owner is super nice and greets every person coming through his front doors and always says "goodbye, see you tomorrow!" When you leave. The food is absolute FIRE!! My favorite things on the menu are the Panang curry, pad see ew, fried shrimp appetizer, pad thai, and the thai fried rice. The mango and sticky rice is also super delicious. The last thing I'll say if note, seems strange, but their water is delicious! They put mint and lemon in the water pitcher which gives it such a subtle but super refreshing taste. Thai Hut is one gem of a spot to find if you're in the area. It has a very homey, hole-in-the-wall type of feel. I usually order to go (because I'm lazy and like to eat at home) but I've dined in a couple of times as well. Their selection of traditional and main stream Thai dishes and desserts is HUGE! Don't do it!!!! Hands down the worst place I've ever eaten. Where to start....the raw shrimp, awful smell or just the service of the lovely waiter. Our appetizer was raw and smelled like old fish, our food was coated in msg and not hot and I thought just maybe the shrimp in the fried rice would be better since it was actually cooked...I was wrong. We asked for the check and boxes to be polite but the clueless waiter didn't notice we had barely eaten our food. We paid and escaped, this jerk had the nerve to say see ya tomorrow...no way in hell. This place came highly recommend so I'm hesitant to give them a so so review. The location is fabulous, parking is plentiful and the restaurant itself is tastefully decorated. I'm giving them 3 stars because of all this plus the restroom was very clean. Now for the not so great. I went wt a friend on a slow Tuesday night. There was one waitress and an older gentleman working the floor yet service was painfully slow. Once we ordered our food (which arrived rather quickly) The staff seemed to forget about us. The food was ok but not all that flavorful. It took me almost a full 20 mins just to get our check which in turn made us late for our 6:30pm movie. Just not impressed at all. Nice little hole in the wall restaurant with surprisingly good food! Their lunch specials are definitely good deals! Between my friends and I had pad Thai, chicken satay, a dinner portion of a fried fish dish, a vegetable dish and curry. Their side of rice comes on the plate in the shape of a heart! How cute! Great food! I've been coming to Thai Hut for years now and it's one of my favorite in the Sacramento area.

Thai Hut is a full service restaurant. Thinking that this was a fast food restaurant, due to "Hut," I never partook until recently. Tuk (rhymes with Duke) is one of the famous ladies there who sat me down. Immediately, I heard the dry sense of humor towards her regulars: "So when you going to adopt me?" "You been sick? I take care you. I make you soup every day." "You cannot have this (dessert) until you finish your dinner." "See you tomorrow." Cleverly placed face up were the dinner specials. All under or around $10, I ordered the pumpkin curry with beef, ordered mild. The Jasmine steamed rice was extra. When dinner arrived, I discovered that the aroma of curry and pumpkin do not mix. Switching over to mouth breathing, this was actually pretty good and the serving slightly more plentiful than dishes ordered at either Amarin Thai Cuisine or A Taste of Thai. Also, ordering mild, there was a little bit of a pepper bite to my order... just right. Tuk talked me into ordering the standard F.B.I. (fried bananas and coconut ice cream). Overload, the coated dessert was more than I could handle. The atmosphere for the evening was so relaxing and comfortable, that I pulled out a book and started to read. Tuk came by to see how I was doing and said, "Please stay. We clo' at 9:30pm tonight." It was around 7pm when she said that and she never handed over the check. During my 40 minutes or so of reading, she passed around the famous 1" square coconut cake. NOT bad. More coconut than cake. Looking up at the time, I almost forgot that I needed to meet with someone in Roseville. I beckoned Tuk for the check and told her I had to go. "You cannot go yet. It not yet 9:30." "You come back again, yes?" Upon leaving the restaurant, I noticed that Tuk's work wasn't done. She was taking down orders at a table with 3 middle aged guys seated there. Tuk: Okay handsome, what you want to order? Guy: Oh, I like this restaurant already! I laughed all the way to the car and yes, I am going to return. Situated at a shopping center, parking is most likely available. The dish quantity is slightly larger than than the 2 restaurants mentioned above. Tuk mentioned that the dishes were home made and the ingredients fresh. I did notice that my order was chunkier than normal. For now, this my favorite Thai restaurant when in Sacramento. read more
