I stopped here on a whim, needed a quick snack got the "fresh" spring roll and chicken dumplings. It was personally a huge miss and a waste of money. The rice paper that was wrapped around the veggies wasn't very edible and my dumplings tasted as if they'd been refried or overcooked. So unfortunate because the restaurant it self was cute inside and had good seating areas. Might still come back to give the noodles a try but will see.

Decided to give them another try and I'm so glad we did. Either their quality control improved or the original chef is back because my pad Thai was delicious. It was perfectly spiced with the right balance of sweet and tang and not overly salted. We ordered online and picked up with ease. Husband also noted that his spicy noodles were really good.

Paid by card. I went here on a Sunday night for dinner with 4 people and was seated right away since no one was inside. There were a lot of takeout orders though. Thai Ladle is located in a plaza and offers a lot of plaza parking. My party and I ordered Pad Thai with tofu, green curry with shrimp, and papaya salad, all medium spice. Medium spice is not spicy at all. The total was about $40 before tip. Cheap! The taste of the dishes was average and the portions were small. Most likely I won't go back.

We came here from the bay area. I know they have a lot of thai restaurants around the areas that I haven't tried. But this had always been my go-to place. The staff is so friendly and very organized. I was craving for Thai food so we FINALLY ordered food. I thought you guys were open on Christmas eve but they were open on Christmas day. Not on Christmas eve. That was even better for us. They have these new drinks now with boba. It is definitely fresh. We need to come back here again before we go back home.

Ordered pad Thai lunch special and chicken satay. I can't believe it's tiny portion for $15.00. Presentation was bad, too sharp and kinda dry, 4 shrimps was hard, salad on the side was limp and looks like a day old and fried items was not crunchy, oily and soggy. The chicken satay was hard with no taste, again could be a day old. What a waste! The worst Thai food I ever had.

Service here is great! I visit often to pick up a meal to bring to a family member. I am always greeted with a smile, clean restaurant, cozy atmosphere, and my order ready to go at the time my order confirmation email indicates. Food: 4.5/5 Service and Setting: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Thai Ladle is my favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego at the moment. I used to have a grudge against them because they replaced my local Indian buffet, but all is forgiven. I have not gone into the store for such a long time, but they are the best for delivery and always do an amazing job. They are my favorite Thai restaurant not because their flavors are on a different level, but because they are very consistent and use great ingredients which unfortunately is not the case for many other Thai restaurants here (no shade to anyone in particular). Side note, the best protein here is definitely their beef! Chicken Satay: 4/5 This dish is not very special and I would even say that it is even slightly on the dry side; however, there is something very addictive about it. Is it the shape, the sauce? I have no idea. The satay sauce that they give you is not too salty and is slightly sweet. While it is not complex, I definitely have a hard time replicating it with the same feel at home. I wish that the portion was a little bigger for its price, maybe another skewer or two? Pineapple Fried Rice: 4.5/5 This by far is my favorite pineapple fried rice. I know that I said that beef was the best protein and this is shrimp, but their shrimp is very fresh and large, a solid runner up. They put the perfect amount of ingredients while I feel that many other restaurants are very stingy, especially with the cashews. The curry flavor along with the sweet pineapple makes this a must get to share or for just yourself! Tom Kha Soup: 4.5/5 I normally don't get soup, but my friend gifted me some delivery and I am so glad that he did. It is similar to some of their curries but has a distinct sourness that makes it refreshing. The coconut gives the soup a slight sweetness while enhancing the savory notes of the broth. This is a great companion for any of their dishes for a splash of moisture and change of pace to refresh your palate, highly recommend! Papaya Salad: 4.5/5 An issue that I have with some papaya salad is that the fermented flavor is crazy. Though I know lighter versions may not be as authentic, something about eating fresh fruit and veggies with funk gives me weird vibes. The papaya salad served here is super fresh and appetizing with a perfect blend of sweet, salty, sour, and savoriness. You definitely get some kick with fish sauce but it's not paralyzing powerful. A must get! Thai Tea: 4/5 Getting thai tea at a restaurant versus a boba shop always hits different, you know? Their tea is sweet, rich, smooth, smokey, and has warm notes of vanilla. I have seen thai tea being made and I know that there usually isn't something special about the ways people make it, but I say Thai Ladle's thai tea is good and a great way to wash down some spice.

I ordered from Thai Ladle to have it delivered to my home and im so glad I did. I ordered the papaya salad ($8.75) and pineapple curry with tofu ($11.75) with a side of jasmine rice ($2.00). Everything tasted great. The papaya salad was super spicy (i asked for the "hot" spice level) and it definitely delivered! I couldnt even finish it because my mouth was on fire. The pineapple curry was piping hot and flavorful. I finished all of it! The rice was perfectly cooked as well. I cant speak about the service or anything about the physical location since I got delivery but im assuming everything was clean and the staff is nice! The prices were a little higher than some other places Ive been to but not by much. I would definitely come back to Thai Ladle!

I ordered their pad thai lunch special and had my order within 10 mins, that was nice. The pad thai was too sweet and chicken meat was barely any. The other thing is that they used pho noodles vs pad thai thicker noodles, so it was really soggy. I probably would try other items next time. not pad thai.

Initially wanted to try Joyee but they were madly backlogged and some of the items I wanted they were sold out so we Yelped around and found this alternative within the same plaza. I'm usually not a fan of Thai food in Socal as they have been very mediorce at best. The reviews here looked decent so we got takeout here and we were pleasantly surprised with the taste and quality. I did not expect decent asian food in Poway of all places. I got the beef pad -see eww and the noodles were cooked very well. Not too oily and the beef was cooked well, nice and tender. Some places tend to over sweeten the whole dish but they did it just right here. I would order this item again in a heart beat. I also tried their chicken panang curry which comes with rice and that was also pretty delicious. I will definitely come here again for any future Thai cravings.

Pretty solid Thai restaurant in Poway. The food is spectacular, especially for the price you pay. Whether you're eating in or ordering take out, the food quality is always above and beyond. FYI, this place used to be called "Pinto Thai," but is now labeled as Thai Ladle due to new management. read more

Saw this place when I dropped off my dog at a groomer in the same shopping center, and made a mental note to try it at some point. Eventually some family came to visit and we were trying to figure out a place for dinner and Thai Ladle came to mind. This place offered Thai food that was as authentic as they come. The Tom Kha had the sweet coconut flavor with a nice mix of mushrooms, onion and cilantro. The chicken pad thai was as flavorful as the pad thai I've had in Thailand. And the yellow curry with chicken had a power punch of flavor with a bit of kick of heat. I will definitely go back and try some other dishes. Only downside is the place was on the smaller side, but as for the food, it was phenomenal. read more

Hands down some of the best thai food I have ever had! Always delicious no matter what you get. I will drive well out of my way to come here. Their service is always fast, it's a great spot to swing by on a lunch break. Decor is super cute. This is the thai place I tell everyone I know they should eat at. We were in the area and didn't expect too much going in. We were very pleasantly surprised. We've been to Thailand and eaten at countless Thai restaurants in the States. The green curry was one of my favorites I've ever had. The pineapple fried rice was great, too. Service was excellent as well. Highly recommended!! read more

At first my hubby and I were not sure if we had already been to this restaurant, as there was another Thai restaurant in its place beforehand that we had tried and didn't like all that much. But boy is this place different! We had been searching and searching for a Thai place we really liked up here in eastern North County to no avail. Until now. Thai Ladle is our new go-to place! My new go to for Thai in my neighborhood! I love the decor inside the restaurant and the service and food are great. It's quickly become a weekly dinner option for my boyfriend and I. I went in for dinner on a Thursday night at 7 and it was completely dead which was concerning. My bf and I were the only ones who dining and no one walked in for the 45 minutes we were there. Food was good!! We went on a Saturday and their online menu states lunch specials Monday-Saturday. I was excited for that, but disappointed to find out that that isn't the case. Lunch specials are only Monday- Friday. We ordered a Tom yum soup with shrimp to share and it was not as large as most places. We also shared the larb. It was delicious. read more

So you can see a pattern here as I once again came here for lunch. Today I ordered a bowl of the clear noodle chicken soup and it was more than enough for a meal I however cannot just order one item to the chagrin of my wife and family so I also ordered the Thai fried rice lunch special with beef and added chicken. I cant seem to get enough of the soup and all of the great veggies and the abundant amount of chicken they used. I ate half the bowl and still have enough for another day! Now lets get to the reason for the 5 stars. In a previous post I mentioned the issue with having the salad on the same plate as the main course and they fixed that by adding the salad in a separate plate! When they brought out my fried rice they mentioned that they took my recommendations and changed the pastry on the outside of the chicken dumpling and let me tell you both the filling and crust were incredible! The fact that this new business took their customers input and made changes it what more small business owners need to do. They have a check in offer so give them a try, I know I will be back! read more

There is no better vegan food in Poway! Moving from North Park I was relieved to find such an amazing option in the suburbs. They have plenty of non- vegan options and my family has ordered everything off the menu. I can highly recommend the Yellow Curry and Udon Noodles. Just found this place, thanks to my trusty yelp app! My coworkers and i work nearby and decided to check it out for lunch. We ordered the chicken larb, the larb wings, and papaya salad. DAMN!! I haven't had really good Thai food since i tried POK POK in Portland a few months ago. I like how you can choose the spice in the papaya salad and larb. We ordered medium and it was the perfect amount of spice. I definitely broke a sweat! Portions are reasonable and the price is pretty expected with what we ordered. Next time we decided we'd try the lunch specials. I will most definitely be back! read more

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. I see it every time I go for coffee in the area. I stopped in to get some dinner to go. It was cute and modern. Gray wood decor with little white tea lights on the tables. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in. I ordered Rama with chicken and white rice. Rama is steamed vegetables with peanut sauce. I am a peanut sauce fanatic, so I ordered an extra side of it. I took it home and mixed it all together. Wow! Hands down the best I've ever had! I have a new favorite Thai restaurant. Their Thai tea is also delicious. Excellent customer service and flavorful food. I highly recommend. read more

I ordered the Larb Salad which was good. The staff was friendly. I order medium spicy as it was my first time. To me it really was not spicy so maybe next time I order hot. YUMMM!!! Some of the tastier Thai food I've had in a while. Flavors were bold but not overwhelming, cooked just right- very fresh tasting. Definitely recommend! Also, came on a Tuesday night and no wait needed. We were seated right away, with waters and menus provided immediately. Our food came out within 10-15 minutes of ordering. Another one of those hidden gems I love to discover. We've been on the hunt for good Thai food since our favorite local place changed owners, and then closed during COVD lockdown. Found it! Tucked away in one of the many strip malls and larger malls along Poway Rd, Thai Ladle is quite small and simple in decor, and quite clean. The menu is not overwhelming, but seems to have all the usual basics, at least for American tastes. We had the usual samplers that we like to try to test kitchen skills: tom kha soup with chicken larb salad, with chicken pad see-ew, with pork All three were delicious and generous in portion size. The soup in particular was the best I've had for a long time--very creamy tasting, loaded with ingredients--chicken, onions, mushrooms. Apparently they have been operating for approximately 2 years, and have clearly developed a regular clientele--in the time we were there at least a dozen pick-ups for take-out occurred. As we were leaving, a party of 10-12 was seated, taking up 1/2 the restaurant space. Definitely a go-back-to experience for us. read more

Over the past several months the quality of the food here deteriorated while the prices went up. It looks like they have changed chef again. For the past several months I simply picked up my food. I was very disappointed with the service I got here recently. But, during the recent visit to eat inside the restaurant I noticed that the cashier/waiter (Sunn#!@) was rude. She never said thanks to anyone! She didn't care whether the customer was happy or not. This was not just towards me, but her treatment of other patrons was the same. I overheard a couple in an adjacent table that even $2 is too much a tip for nonexistent service. I will seriously reconsider going back to Thai Ladle again. This is not the only place for a Thai food fix in Poway! read more

I must say shocked by the great reviews. My husband and I ordered takeout for the first time. Simple Thai dishes, pad see ew, pad thai, with (2) thai teas to go. Pad see ew flavorless. Pad Thai ordered Thai hot. I can tell the quality of the Thai peppers are low since you can tell they're there with each bite, in an annoying way. No heat, just there. Hopefully another person understands what I mean. Our usual place for Thai food fix is Sang Dao, but it is further than we'd like to go. Was looking forward to eating at a more local spot, but for now we shall stick to Sang Dao. read more

As for the chicken with cashews and the kung pao chicken, both dishes tasted very similar due to the same brown sauce, which unfortunately lacked depth and flavor. There's also a QR code for the menu, but I went ahead and searched the menu online and was helped by Tristan when all my friends have already placed their orders. He made sure to ask how I wanted my eggs done and if I wanted to add anything else. But also orders can be placed using the scanned QR if a server hasn't had a chance to check on your table. I ordered the avocado Benedict with hash. My friends ordered the chilaquiles and french toast, and a bunch others that I didn't get to take a pic of. However, I was able to try the chilaquiles, and the steak on that was so flavorful, the tortilla chips were nice and crispy, and the sauce in the bottom had a slight kick to it but with the mix of crema it helped balanced out perfectly. As for the cinnamon brioche french toast, that was one of the best French toast I've had in a while. Nice and crispy but still fluffy in the middle, with that nice cinnamon flavor, topped with whipped cream and berries. As for my order of the avocado Benedict. You can choose how you want your eggs cooked, and I had mine poached. Can def. Add other proteins to the dish with extra charge, but I wanted to keep it as is. The brioche bread was fluffy and buttery like too, it was great for absorbing some of that hollandaise sauce and yolk. My friends also ordered two bottles for mimosas. We had lychee and mango syrup/puree and it gave such a tropical and summer vibe. We also ended our meal with some desserts. We had the cream puff ube, cake choc brownie, and cheesecake caramel apple. My fav. Out of the three, was the cake choc brownie. I think I would be able to eat two of those if I wasn't full. Just loved how the chocolate mousse on the top melted in the mouth, but also that brownie isn't the typical brownie texture. It has a crisp to it. The mousse and crispiness just melts so deliciously together. I should've ordered another for takeout. Service was great despite it looking busy. Food didn't take too long to come out either. But we also did dine in at a decent time too. We had such a good time, especially for my friends who tried it out for the first time. I see they also have a dinner menu now. Maybe we'll come back to try that next time!

I order 3 at other places that offer a scale of 1-5, so this was wayyyy too much. They wouldn't replace it - just offered for us to buy another dish at 50% off. Other than that - easy and open parking. There was only one other table there when we arrived, so got seated immediately. We got Thai tea, dumplings, Thai fried chicken, and drunken noodles. All were okay with the exception of drunken noodles that were unbearable for me to eat.

This place is a hidden jem! Delicious food, nice atmosphere, friendly service and great prices. My co-worker and I went there today and ordered off of their lunch menu. I ordered the garlic & pepper chicken and he ordered the Spicy noodles w/ chicken. They give you a salad with an egg roll and a dumpling to start that are freshly made and really good. Our meals were both delicious and you can tell that they are made fresh. We both said that we are so excited to go again and try other meals! I will be bringing my family back here maybe tonight! I get to go from here at least once a week, food is delicious!!!! I highly recommend the veggie rolls with the thai peanut sauce they are amazing! Spicy Noodles and somosas are great as well. Friendly staff, however they do get super busy and sometimes they are understaffed, so just try to be patient. Definately worth it. read more
