Saw this place when I dropped off my dog at a groomer in the same shopping center, and made a mental note to try it at some point. Eventually some family came to visit and we were trying to figure out a place for dinner and Thai Ladle came to mind. This place offered Thai food that was as authentic as they come. The Tom Kha had the sweet coconut flavor with a nice mix of mushrooms, onion and cilantro. The chicken pad thai was as flavorful as the pad thai I've had in Thailand. And the yellow curry with chicken had a power punch of flavor with a bit of kick of heat. I will definitely go back and try some other dishes. Only downside is the place was on the smaller side, but as for the food, it was phenomenal. read more

We were in the area and didn't expect too much going in. We were very pleasantly surprised. We've been to Thailand and eaten at countless Thai restaurants in the States. At first my hubby and I were not sure if we had already been to this restaurant, as there was another Thai restaurant in its place beforehand that we had tried and didn't like all that much. My new go to for Thai in my neighborhood! I love the decor inside the restaurant and the service and food are great. It's quickly become a weekly dinner option for my boyfriend and I. Food was good!! We went on a Saturday and their online menu states lunch specials Monday-Saturday. I was excited for that, but disappointed to find out that that isn't the case. Lunch specials are only Monday- Friday. We ordered a Tom yum soup with shrimp to share and it was not as large as most places. We also shared the larb. It was delicious. read more

So you can see a pattern here as I once again came here for lunch. Today I ordered a bowl of the clear noodle chicken soup and it was more than enough for a meal I however cannot just order one item to the chagrin of my wife and family so I also ordered the Thai fried rice lunch special with beef and added chicken. I cant seem to get enough of the soup and all of the great veggies and the abundant amount of chicken they used. I ate half the bowl and still have enough for another day! Now lets get to the reason for the 5 stars. In a previous post I mentioned the issue with having the salad on the same plate as the main course and they fixed that by adding the salad in a separate plate! When they brought out my fried rice they mentioned that they took my recommendations and changed the pastry on the outside of the chicken dumpling and let me tell you both the filling and crust were incredible! The fact that this new business took their customers input and made changes it what more small business owners need to do. They have a check in offer so give them a try, I know I will be back! read more

There is no better vegan food in Poway! Moving from North Park I was relieved to find such an amazing option in the suburbs. They have plenty of non- vegan options and my family has ordered everything off the menu. I can highly recommend the Yellow Curry and Udon Noodles. Just found this place, thanks to my trusty yelp app! My coworkers and i work nearby and decided to check it out for lunch. We ordered the chicken larb, the larb wings, and papaya salad. DAMN!! I haven't had really good Thai food since i tried POK POK in Portland a few months ago. I like how you can choose the spice in the papaya salad and larb. We ordered medium and it was the perfect amount of spice. I definitely broke a sweat! Portions are reasonable and the price is pretty expected with what we ordered. I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. I see it every time I go for coffee in the area. I stopped in to get some dinner to go. It was cute and modern. Gray wood decor with little white tea lights on the tables. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in. I ordered Rama with chicken and white rice. Rama is steamed vegetables with peanut sauce. I am a peanut sauce fanatic, so I ordered an extra side of it. I took it home and mixed it all together. Wow! Hands down the best I've ever had! I have a new favorite Thai restaurant. I ordered the Larb Salad which was good. The staff was friendly. I order medium spicy as it was my first time. To me it really was not spicy so maybe next time I order hot. YUMMM!!! Some of the tastier Thai food I've had in a while. Flavors were bold but not overwhelming, cooked just right- very fresh tasting. Definitely recommend! Another one of those hidden gems I love to discover. We've been on the hunt for good Thai food since our favorite local place changed owners, and then closed during COVD lockdown. Found it! Tucked away in one of the many strip malls and larger malls along Poway Rd, Thai Ladle is quite small and simple in decor, and quite clean. The menu is not overwhelming, but seems to have all the usual basics, at least for American tastes. We had the usual samplers that we like to try to test kitchen skills: tom kha soup with chicken larb salad, with chicken pad see-ew, with pork All three were delicious and generous in portion size. The soup in particular was the best I've had for a long time--very creamy tasting, loaded with ingredients--chicken, onions, mushrooms. Apparently they have been operating for approximately 2 years, and have clearly developed a regular clientele--in the time we were there at least a dozen pick-ups for take-out occurred. As we were leaving, a party of 10-12 was seated, taking up 1/2 the restaurant space. Definitely a go-back-to experience for us. read more

Over the past several months the quality of the food here deteriorated while the prices went up. It looks like they have changed chef again. For the past several months I simply picked up my food. I was very disappointed with the service I got here recently. But, during the recent visit to eat inside the restaurant I noticed that the cashier/waiter (Sunn#!@) was rude. She never said thanks to anyone! She didn't care whether the customer was happy or not. This was not just towards me, but her treatment of other patrons was the same. I overheard a couple in an adjacent table that even $2 is too much a tip for nonexistent service. I will seriously reconsider going back to Thai Ladle again.
