This little restaurant seems unassuming from the front door. When I tell you the food is amazing I mean just that! I ordered pineapple fried rice, eggrolls, chicken basil over rice, crispy chicken and chicken skewers. So delicious!!! The food comes out piping hot and made to order. One of my new favorite Thai restaurants. The atmosphere is bright and clean, and they have outdoor seating. I hope to come here again soon as possible even though I live about 24 miles away. But anytime I'm in Oakland, and I'm craving some good Thai food. I'll be coming here. read more

One the positive side: It's cute inside. Hard seating areas. Not parking friendly.I ordered the pork belly with garlic rice. which was filled with onions and blanched green beans-not great as I don't like uncooked green beans. Rice was just OK. The place is so cozy, and neat. It looked tiny on the outside but it's nice inside. There's a corner where it's more private and an outside seating as well in the back. The food is very tasty. The beef pad see u was so good that we finished it all. Mango salad was delicious. Basil chicken is also tasty. Moo Ping is great. Pineapple fried rice has very good flavor without being salty. The only negative part was their men's restroom does not lock, the wood part that is supposed to hold the dead bolt is missing. Overall, our server is very friendly and polite. This is a great place for lunch or dinner. I've never been disappointed with their food or their employees. I enjoy eating here regularly.

My friend and I came down with food poisoning(I was out of commission for a day and a half) After retracing our steps we came to the conclusion that it was dinner. Towards the end of our dinner, I spotted a mouse under one of the tables on the patio. A very nice server reassured us it came from a nearby dumpster. This Thai restaurant was becoming my friend and I's favorite but I'm honestly not sure anymore. Their pumpkin curry and mango sticky rice was my favorite! I love that they're family owned too. Awesome great tasting food. I always try the pad see ew as the initial Thai tasting meal for comparison. They make a killer pad see ew. I also know that they have different level's of spicy! 1. mild 2. medium 3. hot 4. thai hot The hot and thai hot taste really good with that real heat you're looking for. Some places only make it all spicy with no flavor. If you're on the fence of trying, JUST DO IT! You won't regret it. read more

Walking into Thai Taste Kitchen, you see the posh scene of Piedmont extend into this hidden restaurant. On the hunt for the best Khao Soi these days, we ordered Khao Soi with Thai Hot spiciness and Fried Chicken on Garlic rice. The server generously made sure the bowl had lots of spiciness, and was supplemented with extra hot peppers and spicy powder on the side. Taking that first sip of the broth was mind-blowing. The extravagant flavours that filled my mouth was very similar in authenticity as the ones I've tasted in Thailand. Overall with the fast service, nice staff, and great atmosphere, I'd highly recommend having a taste in this restaurant. Very disappointing. I ate there 5-5-19 with my son and the owner suggested anything with the pictures was great. He pointed out the most expensive item noodles with crabcake and a small bowl of chicken broth. It was tasteless and overpriced. I mentioned this to the owner and he just said next time order something else. I will never come back to this restaurant and have told many people about my experience. I felt ripped off. No sorry from the owner, no discount nothing. He suggested the item I ordered, I guess it was my fault. My son agreed with me that this was the worst Thai food we ever tasted read more

I'm not sure how this place has so many stars. Unfortunately our favorite place was closed tonight, and sadly I do go based off of Yelp reviews for places considering I'm not from the East Bay and know nothing out here. It seemed nice when we walked in, until our waitress tried to seat us literally next to another family. Like.. as if we all were together, when we asked for another spot she looked at us like we had offended her and threw her hands up and pointed to the next room. The rooms are SMALL, like.. if you're claustrophobic this is not the place for you. It feels like you're in solitary, or a mental institution. We were sat in the WAY farthest room, away from everything. The food was OKAY, not the best, but okay enough. The music was horrid. It made me feel uncomfortable the whole time. On top of it we had to sit next to a table of older women who were celebrating a birthday and talking so loudly about being on tinder and match. When we were done we waited 20 minutes from someone to acknowledge us and our existence. I wanted to get dessert but I felt so sick by the end of my meal I wanted to just walk out. The experience is totally relaxing. Talk about zen moment, they play music that makes you think you're at a spa. But the experience is zen with your food which is perfect for a lunch break at work. My favorite is the chicken yellow curry, I get it each time but always try something different as well I've never been disappointed. This was probably one of the the best values in dinner we've ever had in Piedmont for a THAI Restaurant !! The food was quite tasty too. The Crab with rice noodle was quite good. The pad thai The drunken noodles according to my husband was good, along with the veggie singapore noodles which I enjoyed. Usually with takeout noodles, the texture changes as the result of the food self-steaming in the box, but when we ate our takeout 30 minutes after it was cooked, it still tasted fine.
