Avocado rolls are delicious and refreshing. PB sauce could use some extra flavor. Pad Kee Mao is tasty, only been there 2x. Ordered medium spicy the first time and could barely finish it without turning into a dragon. Second time ordered mild and there was no spice at all. Still to figure out the spice level. The wifey gets the pad see ew and says it's the best she's had in the area. We get to go, but the inside is updated and cozy. Plan to continue to order from here, great Thai spot. read more

Not many Thai restaurants serve Khao Soi so when we saw this northern Thai dish on the menu, we had to try it. So glad we did! Having eaten and loved this noodle dish in Chiangmai, we're happy to have found a pretty authentic version here in Oakland. The noodles had just the right amount of chew and the curry coconut broth was delicious. I asked for mild spice and it was perfect. I know, I'm a wimp. We've returned a second time to order shrimp pad thai and the bbq chicken and we enjoyed both dishes. The staff are friendly and courteous. Prices are reasonable and the place is clean and bright. There's even a nice covered patio in the back. This restaurant is definitely a keeper for us. read more

The food was very tasty and fresh and they have a lovely seating area in the back that is sort of and enclosed deck area. Staff was very friendly and everything we ate was well prepared. I took a gamble on Yelp and searched for that dish, and found Thai Taste Kitchen! Thanks to the yelpers for their great and detailed reviews we have found our new favorite Thai place! I called in my to-go order, and it was ready in 20 minutes. The staff was super nice and professional, and our food was packed neatly. I live in the neighborhood, about a block away. We moved here about 1.5 years ago and have ordered or eaten here several times. We went in and ordered favorites and some new things. The fried tofu was perfect and yummy! We also ordered a Shrimp Pad Thai. Well, Pad Thai has a distinct flavor and what we got did not taste right on any level. Everything else was fine. When we asked the server to have someone taste it, all he did was dig his heels into the ground and tell us how wrong we both were about it. Instead of simply taking it away to re-fire or check it, he argues with us and told us we were wrong. Anyone can have an off day. But after that we are FAR less likely to go back and we love Thai food. It was a very disappointing experience. We were eating on their back patio which was so lovely! But bummed about the service. p.s. - I think I figured out what was wrong with it. I am pretty sure the sauce was burned. It was very dark and bitter. read more

We visited this Thai restaurant for the 2nd time in the last 2 months. We don't live in Oakland but each time we were in the area we ate here. The BEST yellow coconut curry I've ever had. The first time I had it with salmon; second time with chicken. Both times it was delicious! Cute, homey place. Inside ambiance is so relaxing, feels like eating at home. There's also a gazebo outside that you can use if you want an outdoorsy feel. They have a cute stripe cat. Aside from the environment, the food is awesome. Cooked as you order, you can see the chef cooking it. It's delicious. The staff are friendly, always smiling. Our server helped with food choices. Best Thai food on Piedmont. Everything we've tried has been good. Crispy chicken is delicious, all of the noodle dishes were tasty, and the appetizer add on is a great combo versus getting a whole app order. The back patio is an awesome little secret nook as well. This end of Piedmont Avenue was seeing a lot of new places open up but some of those have quickly shut down and we're back to papered-over windows, it was starting to bum me out... then Thai Taste came along to cheer me up. Hopefully they can overcome this awkward space - barely any frontage on the street - but hiding past the open kitchen entry is a spiffy remodel and charming back patio. I held off for a few weeks to give them time to get comfortable, and was not disappointed. The chicken was tender and tasty, rice dish was perfect, and the server was sweet and attentive.
