Right now, it's Take out curb side only. Quick cooks so didn't have to wait too long for the food to be ready. The curry flavor was good. Portions were fine, but dish was about 20% meat and 80% vegetables. I asked for level 10 spicy and I got a handful of flavorless red paper flakes dumped on my food - which texturally is gross and culinarily is lazy. I might try this place again but not for anything spicy - and order extra meat bc they skimp. read more

i made a take out order and i honestly was expecting a lot. i just moved to the area and looked at the reviews and this restaurant seemed to be really good but it was by far the worst Thai food i've had. starting with the poor customer service when i called to place my order, just got hung up on with no proper introduction or a simple "bye", following with a blank dynamic with just saying "what do you want" and hanging up.. it just felt rude. the atmosphere and worker gave me the feeling that i was unwelcome. the pad Thai overall had little flavor and was dry but was a pretty decent size. the spring rolls i thought were fried so this is my bad, but as a personal reference they did remind me of grass so they went straight to the bucket. i wouldn't waste anymore money at this establishment for dry food and a rude attitude. read more

Fantastic food! And isn't that what we all want? Very large portions, almost family style eating. Easily a full second meal's worth of leftovers. Great service too, they gave us extra white rice for our take home leftovers. 4 of us ordered the Pad Si-Ew, Beef Pho, Tempura Shrimp, vegetable soup, BBQ Pork and Yellow Curry (very mild spice). We haven't been here since they reopened so we decided to call in a pickup order. We called them at 7:24, put in our order and they told us it would be 25 minutes. We waited about 20 minutes and went to pick it up, when we got there it wasn't ready yet, not a problem, we started to wait. At 8:45 we still had not gotten our food, we asked if we could just get a refund instead of waiting longer and they kept saying "it's almost ready" and after another 10 minutes we asked again and the lady started yelling at us. They said that it was too big of an order so they waited to start preparing it until we arrived, which still didn't make any sense. We only ordered 4 meals which I feel is pretty standard? But either way it still should have taken that long and there was no reason to yell at us in the middle of the restaurant because they misquoted the time. I generally never order non-native store food (i.e. never go to a Thai place to order Vietnamese food) but seeing as how it was the late afternoon, I haven't eaten, and I was craving Asian food - I didn't have a choice. Grabbed a seat in the empty restaurant, and ordered a bowl of piping hot pho. No option to upgrade for large, but whatever. When the food came, I was BLOWN AWAY by a few select slices of meat. SOOOO succulent and tender, I wondered if the entire bowl was comprised of these delicious bad boys?!... they weren't. It was an assortment of different parts of the cow, but I couldn't complain. Half of the bowl had those morsels in it, and the rest was lots of hot broth and noodle (which was average). All in all, not a bad place to eat and I feel bad for rating them a 3 for Vietnamese food. The rice is great each time I've had it. It has flavor and isnt like some of the cheap places. They put eggs onions and meat in it oh and the rice doesn't taste old. They have a salad that's also killer in flavor and texture, cant remember right. The beef dishes are also great for you cow lovers lol. Now the chicken i believe it was a variation of fried was good once since then not so much. I think what made it a miss the next few times was it was back pieces, as in along the spine. So you can try it if you want but I think two strikes is enough. I'm gonna try some other dishes and update as I go along. So while it has only 4 stars today next week might be 5. read more

Sorry to report but this is amongst the worst Thai food I've ever encountered. Pot stickers were fine - probably purchased in bulk frozen - but the Tom Yum soup was barely ok. The massaman curry was horrid. Thin, pale, lacking flavor and meat that I really don't want to know where it came from. Add in the frozen peas and carrots and you end up with a dish worthy of dumping down the disposal. Do yourself a favor - head downtown; there are some decent Thai restaurants down there. read more

When I brought this to the supervisors attention, he put HIS FINGERS IN MY NOODLES. Took a bite of one then but it BACK. He said "there is nothing wrong, that's how we cook it." I use to eat here alot. Especially ordering their all meat Pho and even sweet chili chicken. Unfortunately I was feeling that the quality of the food and services was getting poor. My last straw was when I order Gai Yang marinated chicken and when I had taken a bite, it had a horrible taste. Like a death taste in my mouth. It tasted like the chicken was on it's very last day before trash day and they just decided to get it out the fridge to cook and pour sauce and serve it. This place is amazing. Whether you order their pho ( I go for chicken pho but my friend ordered the beef pho and the meat was super tender and flavorful) or their pad Thai ( they have spice levels you can pick from 1-15, 15 being the hottest) everything is amazing. Prompt service, who can beat that! You will be served by either Joe or Johnny who I assume their parents run the restaurant, and they are awesome. I wanted Pad Thai to go and asked to make it EXTRA spicy and they gave me this look like -" are you sure you can handle the heat?" Lol . I asked them to recommend a spice level that wasn't too spicy but left a nice lingering feeling and they recommend level 10. Me being scared and my first time here, I chickened out and went for level 8. Within 5 minutes I had my pad Thai to go and tried it and the flavor was great. The sauce was thick and coated the noodles well, the chicken was tender and the spice .. Well let's just say I wanted hotter. Next time I will get the level 12 spice. I love heat and my pallet can handle spicy. Joe is a great server. I told joe that I wanted more heat bc the level 8 wasn't hot enough and he brought me out chili powder, chili oil and chili flakes which made my pad Thai perfect! The service is on point. They refilled my water often which was nice bc I didn't have to flag them down like I do most Asian restaurants. I feel like they pay attention to detail here as well as the people. Their pho was a lot of onions and cilantro which I love! They are generous with their sides ( bean sprouts and limes ) and they always have a smile on their face. This was, BY FAR, the absolute worst Thai food I've ever had. First of all, spring rolls are not cellophane rolls. It's false advertising. I also ordered green curry. There was no Thai basil, no kefir lime leaves, and they put in green peppers, peas, white onions and CUCUMBER! Cucumber is not meant to go in hot dishes. Peas are not indigenous to Thailand and should never be put in Thai curry. The green peppers were overlooked and mushy to the point of being gelatinous. As I continue to be addicted to Tea Rose, my wallet appears to be shrinking into a mere nothingness, if not for the actual cost of the food (which really isn't that bad), it has to be the cost of the gas for me to go there. Luckily, for any of you who happen to live on the west side, there's a quick fix! I first thought to try Thai This when I had read a City Weekly article written by Ted Scheffler, while he didn't actually go there, he said that this place was called "legit" by a trusted source. You don't doubt Ted. Anywho, so being that I pass by this place every day on my morning commute, I figured it was time to give it a go. For a while, I was a little confused that it said "Thai This" with "Pho Restaurant" just underneath, while not as crazy as the Korean BBQ/Panaderia place on 33rd, just as culturally distinct. Thai This is really just more than a Thai place though, they sort of pick up an assortment of the flavors of Asia, including Lao style papaya salad, teriyaki chicken, Vietnamese Pho, etc. That being said, they actually are really good for being somewhat "pan-Asian." I tried their massamun curry with beef and their pad thai, both were very tasty, as well as their potstickers. I will say though, that their thai tea can't be beat by Tea Rose, and its a little heavy on the sweetened condensed milk. I'd try the iced coffee. But anyways, long story aside, I've found a good substitute for my Tea Rose fix a bit closer to home. Win. read more

It is what I would have expected for the price. The atmosphere when I went in was not bad, not much decor but the walls looked nice. Everything seemed okay with the exception that the chairs need work. I sat on one chair and ended up changing. The first chair was a bit off balance, the second one was even more off balance, and I probably could have rocked around in it if I was alone in the restaurant, good thing it was during dinner service, I was able to keep myself steady. The food was a bit downed on spices when compared to authentic Thai food. It is still tasty, though may be a bit disappointed, if you are looking for the extra kick you had in Thai food from somewhere else. The taste profiles are very safe for people new to Thai food. I order a Thai ice tea at every single Thai restaurant I go to. I can easily say, this place has one of the worst Thai ice teas I have tasted, and I have tasted a lot, from in state, in country, out of country. It is a premade canned Thai Ice tea which I honestly have no clue how they are even in the market. DONT WORRY! They top off the Thai Ice Tea with some whipped cream to add a lovely mustache to the sad faces it brings out. Pros - good food, fair prices. Easy to eat Thai food. Coming from California, I am used to great food and Thai food is no exception. This is by far the best Thai place I have been to in SLC. My fav is the Yellow Curry. My kids had their usuals - Red curry and Massaman. I had Pad See Ew or Pad Ke Mao. I don't remember. I believe there was some chicken involved. My former favorite Thai place was Mekong. That ended. I'll start off this review with we aren't the typical diners. We are PICKY! We rarely eat out because we are often disappointed in the restaurants we visit. Thai this made the cut (Gordon Ramsey's restaurant didn't). The service is fantastic they are friendly and it seems like they are genuinely happy to have your business. They have built relationships with regular customers and really have that old fashion small town feel that's so rare now a days. They were asking regulars about how they've been, picking apart the menu for a new customer and talking fishing with us. The people really made my heart explode. The food was great. We ordered shrimp tempura. The sweet and Spicy sauces was light. Not greasy at all. The chicken satay is what made us come here. It's the best I've had anywhere. I've had Chicken Satay from Iowa to California. It's tender and crispy and the sauce's nuttiness complements they quality cut of chicken. Order the chicken Satay you won't be disappointed. For our entree we ordered the the chicken basil. All of the ingredients are crisp and fresh. They cooked them to perfection and the sauce had just a hint of spice. Do not steer away from this entree because of the spices mark on the menu you can handle the spice. With two people two appetizers and a entree were enough to take seconds home all for just over $20. I have always had a great experience here. I am an avid food eater and I have plenty of Thai food from various locations in the Salt Lake Valley. This is by far the best bang for your buck. And maybe I am bias because I get great customer service here. Jenny is very very friendly and always strives to make my order awesome. Never fails to greet me with a big smile and sweet voice. Keep in mind, people are human, have bad days, get slammed and have to deal with regular life. But to give their customers a great service and trying their best -- that's great service. Never fails to give me a handful of candy at the end of my meal or on my to-go orders. The food is great. I get the curry, pad Thai, and Yum Nua (spicy beef salad) - but you can ask not too spicy. The flavors are great and food is fresh. I saw someone complain about the chicken and how it had bones. This is a Thai traditional plate. Perhaps they should let customers know it has bones, but you get a WHOLE chicken. Easy two meals out of that. A little bit of work, but the taste is worth it! This place is busy because it's good.
