Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, my husband and I found our new, favorite Thai restaurant! We've tried so many new establishments that offer Thai food, and most are very good, but this establishment takes it up to a top notch! The moment we entered this lovely establishment, we were greeted by a very attentive and happy hostess, which I now realize was the owner, and she escorted us to our table. The interior is very clean, pristine, and comfortable and modern. The entire three walls of the restaurant are windows that look into the street outside, but you don't feel like you are in a fishbowl, as the windows have sheer window coverings. There is a gorgeous, modern, beautifully lit bar on one side, that provides a lot of ambience, and my favorite aesthetic part of the perimeter of the dining area is a drop dead gorgeous area of beautiful, healthy houseplants the owner displays to make you even feel more at home! If she takes this much care for her plants and the other aspects of the dining experience, you know the food will be equally as crafted and delicious ...which, it was! We ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer, my husband ordered the basil beef (his favorite Thai dish), and I ordered a new dish I never tried--avocado green curry with chicken. My husband really enjoyed his dish, he said the sauce was the most flavorful he's had in this dish before, and we loved the perfectly cooked, succulent coconut shrimp. They were Devine! I couldn't believe how delicious my curry was...the spice level was perfect, the sauce was sooooo flavorful and the avocado..well, it was the perfect ripeness and added so much more to an already sublime Thai dish! This is something I could eat all the time!! We also really enjoyed our iced Thai teas! We left fulfilled, super impressed, and loved every moment of this beautiful dining experience! There is nearly overwhelming amount of food choices yet every dish I've had is wonderful. I order what my server suggests and she was so awesome to remember my prior order. The prices are reasonable. Outstanding, friendly service and a wide variety of tasty Thai bites await you at Thai Time near southside park. I live nearby and have been popping by for takeout for a while, usually weeknights or Fridays. They have a large bar with two giant TVs with all the best sports (or cooking shows when nothing is on), and lots of seating. I even saw a band in there one night! Service is always above and beyond. The proprietor is so friendly and welcoming. She will provide and recommendations for you and alter orders if requested. Always super quick and attentive, I even get a glass of refreshing water while I wait for my order. Very good prices here. Try a tea, I had a lemon and green tea one that was super good. I've enjoyed my food here, but need to start venturing beyond my familiar favorites. Sweet potato fries are always crisp and fully cooked, egg rolls nice and crispy without being too oily. I also liked the pot stickers and curry puffs. The yellow curry and rice are tasty with lots of meat. I actually ask for more veggies (carrot, potato) because I like them more. I came here one month ago on 4/22/24 I found an earwig in my plate of drunken noodles. The restaurant tried to make an excuse saying that there were bugs in the food because the veggies were just so fresh?? It would be better if they just owned up to the error. I've recently moved and my usual favorites were further away than I had time for. Trust YELP to send me Thai Time as one of the highest rated and closest Thai restaurants nearby! And the reviews are spot on. I prefer that it's a little off of the crazy chaotic corridor of downtown/midtown. Parking was super easy, and the restaurant was easy to spot. It is under a multi level apartment building, and the space is bright, clean and welcoming. I walked in right as they opened, and was greeted warmly. I was able to look at a menu, but they offer a QR code as well. I ordered a number of items and EVERYTHING was amazing! The womanI spoke with also was super patient and helpful as I read through my order and the specific requests I shared. I ordered: -Panang curry -Pad Thai -Drunken Noodles -Egg Rolls -Pork Skewers -Rad Na -Papaya Salad -Peanut Sauce I absolutely loved the papaya salad. It wasn't too fishy, like many usually are. It had a nice tang, some spice and was dressed perfectly. Their peanut sauce was also tasty. I also appreciate that portions were generous. With my to go order, they packaged all of the items with such care! For example, they kept the gravy for the Rad Na noodles separate so it wouldn't make the noodles soggy before they could be eaten. Nothing leaked or was crushed even with my crazy driving hahahaha. I can't recommend Thai Time enough. I know there are a lot of Thai places around, but this newest spot really put themselves on my food map and came in with stiff competition to my standard faves. I saw a reel of this going around on IG the other day and had to try it. It was definitely a great choice as all the food we tried were amazing. Our server was also super nice and checked up on us a couple times to make sure everything was good and that we had enough water. Curry Fries - Fries infused with curry sauce. This was a must-order appetizer. We just ordered it because it sounded interesting and is apparently really popular here. The sauce actually has a strong kick and it added so much flavor for the fries. For those not familiar for Thai curry, it's very coconut-based and can be very sweet and savory. Tom Kha Soup - I've been craving something coconut soup and this was it. Very sweet and light Total Pad Thai - I loved how this looked. It was pad Thai wrapped in a giant omelet. The sauce on the noodles was very good as it added a lot of flavor, but doesn't overwhelm the dish and I couldn't stop eating it Panang Curry - Also sweet like the Tom kha, but had a stronger spice level. I came to this restaurant on a Tuesday night after work. We were seated immediately. The server was polite and professional, and we didn't wait too long for the food, which tasted amazing. We ordered the coconut soup (10/10), the mango curry (also 10/10, but wish it came with a larger side of rice for sharing), and the pad thai with beef (also 10/10). This is my second time visiting and I was not disappointed! We ordered the red mango curry, garlic fries, and not pictured is some pad thai. The red curry is super flavorful. I like it because the consistency of the curry is not too thin and but also not super thick. I also enjoy the amount of coconut milk used, I've found some curries in other Thai restaurants can be watered down, but not this one! The garlic fries were hot and fresh and tasted very cheesy! A very generous portion for an appetizer. The Pad Thai here is one of my favorites because of how moist it is. Some places will shy away on the amount of sauce they use so the pad thai can sometimes be dried and clumped up, but not here. It really tastes great and I'm happy the second time around, it tasted just as amazing. I enjoyed the overall consistency in the food quality here and know that's it's someplace I can return to and won't be disappointed. The overall ambience of the restaurant is very cute as well. Another great Thai spot for the win! I was craving some Thai late night to-go. I had the pleasure of trying the Kao Soi (not pictured) and the pad Thai. When we went in for pick-up, everyone welcomes you in and attends to you right away. Super friendly! I will make sure to dine-in next time. Kao soi (medium spicy)- 10/10 the curry was super flavorful and the crispy noodles on top just added the perfect crunch and texture to the noodle soup. They also weren't stingy with the shrimp. It had the tiniest kick of spice which is perfect for a nice cold weather. Pad Thai (spicy)- you can never go wrong with this dish. It was also packed with spicy flavor and the lime added a little tang. Thai iced tea- honestly one of the better Thai teas I've had. Tasty, tasty Thai Food! I have heard about this new-ish Thai place and for the presidential debate tonight, hubby's choice for dinner was Thai, hence Thai Tuesday! Keeping it short and spicy: everything we ordered was delicious. The basil fried rice had an even amount of need to veggies and the rice was perfectly cooked. The chicken pad Thai was very flavorful, be sure to squeeze that lime squeeze to accentuate the Thai flavors! The sauce from the Yellow curry was thick with just the perfect amount of spicy. My absolute favorite item was the Beef short rib green curry. Talk about "fall off the bone" beef... soo soo good. Worth $39 for this dish? Probably not but safe to say I would order this once in a while. I wouldn't recommend this ordered through a food delivery service because the sauce from my order was spilled while in transportation, so sad. To be completely honest, this place was some of the blandest Thai food I have ever had. I really was craving some Tom Yum but the first bite in it was so flat with none of the vibrant flavors you expect in a Tom Yum. On top of that, the second bite in I found hair in my food and had to get it replaced. My partner, who loves fried rice, also did not like his crab fried rice and found it to be lacking flavor. The papaya salad was just okay, also did not have the bright flavors I was expecting. Really wanted to love this place given the nice vibe, cool interior, and countless great reviews but the food was lacking and the hair really really threw off my entire appetite. Me and my friends ordered take out and was able to pick up our food in about half an hour. They kept our drinks in the fridge so they were still cold and the food was still warm. Pick up was quick and easy but parking was very limited. We ordered the spring rolls with tofu, the pad Thai with tofu, and drunken noodles with tofu. Everything was really tasty but my favorite was definitely the pad Thai! I also got the green Thai tea and it was delicious!
