Had a really great lunch here while visiting Bristol! My husband is from Rhode Island and we were visiting from San Francisco, he said Thames is a must, and it was. The calamari was fresh and so delicious. The fish n chips were HUGE and so delicious, tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Great fries, well seasoned, and the fish was very fresh and a huge portion for the price (literally double from sf) Shannon, our server was awesome and super friendly. We were surprised it was her first day! I'm suprised with all the negative reviews, they must be with previous server(s) or management. The views and ambiance were great, service was attentive, and the food was excellent and affordable. Worth a visit!

I was in the neighborhood for the State Street Fall Festival and we gravitated towards the live music playing at Thames Waterside. Stopped in during peak lunch time- our waitress was friendly. The nachos and the margherita pizza were delicious. Fries were mid, lighting outside with the yellow awning was different. Would come back again!

RI Food Fight- Lord of the Wings 2025: I was already a fan of Thames as I love the location, view and vibe here. (Feel free to read my previous reviews.) It was a cold, snowy January night and Thames just gives off a warm vibe. This was our first time at the bar. We went with an Asian Sweet Chili wing. Cooked to perfection. The sauce was not too sweet but just right. The bartender, not very chatty but nice. Since we were out winging, I couldn't stuff any dessert in, but it didn't mean I couldn't take any home! They had a great selection and since another location let me down on pecan pie, I went with a pecan bar. I had it later that night. It was just that. Think of something from a bakery. It was not as flavorful as pecan pie (it was there but not overwhelming.) I liked that everything was crumbled on top and had a soft flaky crust. Nice alternative to pie. It was a great 5th stop on our adult wing day. We will be back Thames!

Looking for a warm, elevated vibe in Bristol? Thames Waterside in the wintertime has it. While gorgeous in the summertime, off season has it feeling intimate. A fireplace crackles in the corner while regulars perch at the bar chatting about the weekends adventures. Our bartender was the perfect blend of helpful while giving us the space to enjoy our food and chat. We ordered garlic teriyaki wings and they were outstanding. Huge is an understatement as these were quite meaty. Like I cannot emphasize enough how much meat were on these wings. They were well fried, crispy without overdoing it. Just the pure snap of chicken skin, sans breading. The sauce evenly coated and balanced in flavor, not overly salty as some teriyaki sauces can be. I enjoyed a pomegranate spritzer with them and it was perfectly wintery and refreshing. As a Bristolian, this place is always on my list of recommendations. I hope you'll try it and experience it for yourself! I came here because of the RI Food Fights event: Lord of the Wings

This used to be one of the favorite places to go. Quite honestly, the regulars kept this place afloat by sticking by them during Covid. WHY have they been thru so many managers in the past year????! The drinks are one of the most expensive in town. Not only have they lost good managers but they have fired or "cancelled" most the best bartenders they had. Outside of the summer, (also locals), this is not the hot spot !! They have strong armed the public with the view & location. Same out of owners the Beach House and The Wave. They are only in town for the $$$$. Personality goes a long way in the lean winter months! This is not NYC or Newport. Do better!!

From rooftop

As a local Bristolian I was a regular here for years. They've fired all the longtime waitstaff and bartenders that brought the locals in year round. Now whether it is in the downstairs restaurant or the rooftop bar the locals are gone. All that that you will find here are college kids, their parents, and people who are having weddings next door. The restaurant itself is in shambles. Never any work or repairs are done. The drink prices are outrageous. On par with Newport or Block Island if not more. Visitors take note, if locals won't support the restaurant that's all you need to know.

I'm not sure why this place had such low reviews. The outside eating area was amazing on a top 10 day. Their outside eating area has a sunshade over your head which is great and there were a few seats that were not under that cover and the view of the water was amazing. The were plenty of staff and they were quick and efficient. Our waitress came to our table with waters for us before even introducing herself. I saw all patrons getting offered water without being asked. I saw plates of food coming out and they all looked great which gave me a hard time on what to order so I went with pastrami reuben which was hugh and amazing! Instead of a side of fries I got a side salad. LOOK at the size of my side salad. I only ate 1/2 my sandwich and took the rest home. They also had an area above where we were sitting that you could only order drinks. I'm sure they had a stunning view up there as well. We tried to make reservations thru Open Table but they required a credit card and we didn't want to do that. I highly recommend that you do make a reservation because moments later after we checked in people were being told there would be an hour wait because of those who made reservations!

The drink menu was not very extensive. Our Asian salad cups appetizer tasted exactly like an Asian salad mix I've bought at the grocery store and looked like it too - I'm convinced that's exactly how they prepared this. My veggie burger had burnt edges and wasn't too enjoyable flavor-wise. It didn't help my overall impression that when I got takeout here another time, they totally butchered my boyfriend's name when we ordered over the phone, and we had a hard time picking up our order because of this (how you get "Stephanie" from "Anthony," I just really don't know). I think this place just gets lucky having a good location across from Independence Park and being close to but just out of the way from downtown. Can't say I was impressed by the food - there are too many other good options in Bristol, I just can't say I'd recommend this to others. Perhaps it's improved since I visited, but it's a pass for me based on experiences I've had.

One day we were undecided where to go... the typical "where do you want to go? " "I dunno, where do you wanna go?" infinite loop. We were driving on Wood street and she asked me if I wanted to try B&B. My gut instinct told me NO, IT'S VEGETARIAN FOOD. VEGETARIAN FOOD IS THE DEVIL!, but somehow I mustered up the strength to deny these thoughts and agreed to try it. I love a good restaurant that waits on you, so the idea of walking to a counter to get my food didn't make me excited. I looked over the menu and saw they had faux chicken sandwiches. They use seitan which I always wanted to try since it's insanely high in protein. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken. They also sell beer too which was cool. I got a Clownshoes IPA that I sipped until they brought the food to the table. The portion size of the sandwich is monstrous! I could tell by the sauce drizzle that I was in for something special. The colors from the cabbage slaw in the sandwich provided a solid presentation. As I bit into the sandwich, it had the chew of tender fried chicken and the seitan had some wicked flavor. I'm salivating just talking about it. The sauce had a nice sweet tangy heat which really set it off nice. We ordered fries which were nicely salted and served up with a little cup of aioli. Very good. Honestly, I never thought vegetarian food could taste this good and hopefully I don't regret posting this review and the place blows up and have to wait in line for hours next time. Lol! Thanks Basil and Bunny!

Our server Sonny cheerfully greeted us, made food and drink recommendations, listened and catered to our allergies, and took our orders quickly and accurately. She went above and beyond to make sure my shellfish allergy could be accommodated by speaking with the kitchen staff and calling the owner. I was happy to hear that the smash burger and French fries were safe for my to eat, and they did not disappoint!!! The burger I ordered (bacon cheeseburger with no bacon) was delicious. No complaints there and I will probably reorder. The only problem here was that I asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, to which the waiter simply said okay. Turns out it was an undisclosed upcharge. Not only did he not tell me it would be $2.75 (or something like that) more, but the fries are listed as the same price online. When I told him that, he said that their online menu is really old (this is to say, don't look at it! and also, not sure why they wouldn't update it if they know it's incorrect). Sure enough, the printed menu also said nothing about an upcharge for a different fry, so ultimately I was able to remove the charge, but it was a little awkward and frustrating. My only other complaint is not particularly the fault of the restaurant, but I suppose just a side effect of the laidback vibes. A group of 7 or 8 people came in like 20 minutes after us and was so loud that I almost suggested we leave. My guess is they were drunk, but it was a Wednesday night around 6:00, so I wouldn't have expected that. They were so loud that I was yelling to my friend who was within arm's length. Totally changed the vibe and enjoyment for me.

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.

A waitress came by, took our order for drinks and app. She was very nice and cheery. We hoped to get her as the waitress. So far, so good right? We were sat and our nachos came out just as we just settled in which was good. I was disappointed that expediter didn't bother to get us plates or recognize that we needed them. She left before I could say anything so I had to flag her down for them. She did get them quickly. For some reason, the waitresses were all over the back table of loud girls. It appeared they were showering them with attention going back and forth all different waitresses. The place is incredibly loud, it was tough to have a conversation with my girlfriend while we. We tried several times to make any sort of eye contact with the staff to let them know we needed drinks and failed. Eventually, we stood up, walked over and asked a waitress for some waters. A waitress came to the table and gave us waters and asked if we wanted drinks but let her know we had already put them in. She seemed annoyed by us, even though we didn't do anything other than tell her we already had drinks in and that we may order some other things soon. Nobody ever came by to check on us even though they came every 2 minutes to gab with the back table. My girlfriend and I didn't really like the nachos. She felt the chili was burnt and I thought it was too salty. We were still hungry and going to ask for entrees, but we were so annoyed with feeling neglected that we decided to go elsewhere. I asked for a box for my food and the waitress said she'd be back and went and talked with the other table again for what seemed like an eternity.
