I came here on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy. They have their own private parking lot which is a huge plus. I only came here to get the Banh Mi sandwiches. I like how they bake the sandwiches in-house. The bread and the veggies tasted fresh. We ordered two of their #1 (the standard cold cut meats) and their Vietnamese coffee. The only drawback is that I wish they added more pate like the other delis. They also don't have all the cold cut meats that I expect to be in a regular cold cut Vietnamese sandwich. The Vietnamese coffee was really good. It has a a nice caramel taste to it. They also have Vietnamese dessert, variety of stir fry tofu and other Vietnamese foods in the deli. As a vegetarian and tofu connoisseur, I have discerning taste when it comes to tofu factories and restaurants. Thanh Son is my go-to for their lemongrass tofu, which is sold by the pound. While I love tofu in all shapes and forms, even my friends who claim that they "don't usually like tofu" enjoy this lemongrass tofu for its perfect balance of spicy, salty, lemongrassy flavor and chewy fried texture. I recommend that you buy more than you think you'll need, as I find it impossible not to break into the lemongrass tofu as soon as I'm in the car. They also sell a good onion/chives vermicelli tofu, plain fried tofu, and freshly made tofu by the block, which is usually still warm when you pick it up. It doesn't get fresher than that. Don't go here! Bad customer service ever at the banh mi counter! We were checking our number order for pick up and the owner said that they can make it for us now. While we were waiting for our sandwiches, (the owner + 2 ladies were making sandwiches on that day) the owner messed up on the orders and the other two ladies who are workers blamed on us and said that we jumped in while they haven't finished serving other customers! I stopped by Thanh Son during the lunch hour, and the line for banh mi sandwiches was out the door. Each sandwich is about 3.50, and there are about 10 sandwiches to choose from. I always get the combo version, and this one was pretty good. Add some jalapenos for some extra spice. I also got the BBQ pork version: while good, I would stick to the combo in the future. I like how clean this place is! The restaurant is fresh and new. I think it's pretty nice for a place in the I.D. I'm so use to the dirt and grime feel of the usual hole in the walls, this is a much need change. The tofu here is very consistent and always taste fresh. The last time I was here I made the mistake of ordering the bbq pork sandwich. Not what I normally eat but when I took my first bite wow the French bread was light and crispy. I also saw the tofu buffet with six different flavor of tofu. Some had signs and some didn't so I can't really tell what flavor they were. Oh my childhood just flashed by when my mom takes me to Chinatown and I get a cup of coconut drink with various jelly and nuts. The banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) are only $3.50! If price alone is not enough to catch your eye, they have eight different flavors to choose from and they're all made fresh to order. You can see them baking the baguettes in the back. The bread is incredibly fresh and soft. It's the perfect vessel for whatever topping you choose, but my favorites are the house special and the meatball. I always ask them to put extra pate, which they're nice about. They don't typically cut the sandwich in half so you'll need to ask them to do that if that's what you want. The interior of the deli is very clean and they have restrooms for customers. They have an assortment of prepared foods, desserts, and drinks available for purchase. There are also some tables inside and outside for dining. They do sell fresh soy milk in one liter bottles. It's not really a good bet for dinner as they close at 6pm, and when we went there yesterday at 5:30 the bahn mi line was already shut down. Really disappointing. First time visiting this Vietnamese shop and I'm so surprised with how fresh all of their products are! They bake their sandwich buns fresh in the kitchen, and assemble the sandwiches right in front of you! During my visit I also got a pound of rice rolls which they brought out fresh from the kitchen (we could still feel the warmth of the noodles!). The store itself was clean and spacious, the only thing is their parking situation- it's a REALLY crowded parking lot, coming in and going out wasn't very smooth.... nonetheless I will definitely still be back for the food! so delish! read more

The tofu is the best and an amazing deal. The lemongrass is my favorite though the chili-garlic (I think this is new?) is also delicious along with the green onion and rice noodles. The plain large bricks of tofu are perfect to take home and cook. I've tried other local tofus, but this is MY CLEAR FAVORITE! The new location is quite pleasant compared to the old one. Great place for banh mi thit heo nuong (Vietnamese grilled pork sandwich) and banh cuon to go! It's setup like a deli where you can actually watch the employees build the sandwiches for your orders. The ingredients are fresh (no brown or soggy pickled veges) and the bread is baked fresh daily there. On weekdays there's plenty of parking which makes coming here super convenient. Tha Chosen Son Tofu. Very good. Always liked their fried tofu products, made it to their new-to-me location. The layout is really nice, about as fancy as a soy products shop can get!
