Nice environment, seats a little too close. I had a chicken bacon Gouda wrap with fries. I enjoyed my meal. My bf had the hot chicken Sammy, the sauce on the sandwich was not hot it tasted like honey not too great. His sweet potatoes fries were good. The service was good and so is the environment nice restaurant. My lemonade tasted like it was made with tap water so probably would stick to a soda. Love this place! Went with the boyfriend on a Saturday afternoon and it was moderately busy. Taking advantage of the unusually warm November afternoon we decided to sit outside. Our server was very attentive even though we were her only table outside. She was very sweet and extremely efficient. Not overly chatty but no good server is. The food was fantastic! We had the creamy collard dip as a starter and it didn't disappoint. My only criticism would be that the mixture was a little runny and hard to eat but that's nothing a little more time reducing or a handful of Parmesan cheese wouldn't fix. Flavor was very much on point. We went with burgers for the main event. I had the turkey burger which is one if the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, not dry, full of flavor, and the lemongrass aioli was a rather nice touch. The boyfriend had the black and bleu burger which I was pretty envious of. Since I'm trying (not very hard) to watch what I eat I didn't get a chance to try it. He seemed to really enjoy it. For my side I had the macroni and cheese which was too good. The pasta was a little overdone but it's the south and that's what I expect, and love. Cheesy, delicious, and creamy! Yum! This is my third trip to The 5 Spot and I have to say I have never had a bad experience. Not really sure what's up with the negative reviews but that could just be Savannah. I pass by The 5 Spot all the time, but never stopped in for a bite. Boy, do I wish I had sooner. On the last day of an internship, we met here for a farewell lunch. First up: we ordered an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. I'm a Southern gal, so I believe myself to be an expert on maters. These were definitely for a more sophisticated palette. They were adorned in a creamy sauce and feta crumbles. Overall, I enjoyed them a lot, albeit the battering was a little less crispy for my liking. On to the main dish! I had an order of the crab cake sandwich, and it was simply divine. It was a nice potion for the buck. I chose regular fries as a side, but next time I go, I think I'll try the sweet potato fries. I personally love this place! They have excellent breakfast and dinner choices which is rare for a place to pull off. Their huevos rancheros or steak and eggs are my go-to breakfast choices. I add mushrooms to both and top both with Sriracha. For dinner, they have such a wide variety of options that anyone can find something they like-- it's actually really difficult to decide because there are so many choices. Another great thing is the parking situation. With a communal parking lot right next door, you can get "downtown" quality food, without the hassle of driving/parking downtown. I have taken my grandmother here twice because it is a much easier option for her due to the fact she ambulates with a walker. To top it off-- they make an excellent Moscow Mule! read more

Very good! We'll come back any time we're in Savannah, which is often. 5-Spot has great prices and a huge selection. I had the very yummy chorizo quesadilla and my husband had the absolutely delicious meatloaf hoagie - he was in heaven. He orders meatloaf all the time, and he was licking the plate. But the best part of the meal was the white truffle fries - dear Lord, were those amazing. This was my second time at The 5 Spot. My mom was in town and wanted to eat everywhere she could so this was one of our stops. The atmosphere here is very pleasant, modernism decor and it looks very nice. Our server was Matty and he was extremely kind and a good server! We got the fried pickles which were quite tasty. Here they do spheres with a light batter. I got the chicken bacon Gouda wrap with Mac n cheese. I would recommend the wrap but not the Mac. It was very basic to me. The wrap would be a lot better with spinach instead of lettuce but I enjoyed it. My only negative with this visit was that my food was not too hot. Some things I think are good warm and better hot and this was one of them. Not the pickles though. Definitely have to let them cool off before enjoyment. Check this place out for sure. Started with hummus and grilled pita as an appetizer. The hummus was really bland, I had to add salt on top. I ordered Portobello Mushroom sandwich with sweet potato fries on the side. The fries were not that great and didn't taste fresh. The lady next to me complained about getting cold fries too. The sandwich was below average. It didn't have a good flavor to it. My friend ordered Crab cake sandwich, which he thought was good. He got a side of Mac n Cheese with it. It was ok as well. I don't think I will be returning to this place anytime soon. read more

Not a lot of beers on tap but they rotate some interesting brands; I just missed out on a 21st Amendment IPA which was switched out this morning. Damn. So we had an IPA from a local company - Southbound Brewing - which was passable. Decor is modern industrial chic. Lots of servers; our server did a good job. We wanted something light for lunch so my wife went with a chicken caesar salad and I had a BLT. Both were very nice and inexpensive. Salad was $8, BLT was $6, beers were $6 for 16 oz pours. One of the best brunches I've had in a LONG time. Visiting from Atlanta, we stopped in and I enjoyed the Crab Benedict and he had the Shrimp and Grits. Both were amazing. It was a Sunday morning around 11 a.m. and we were sat right way which never happens at brunch. The food took a little long but our waitress apologized and gave us 15% off. The menu is pretty good and the French fries are the best. I was very disappointed when I did a to- go order of meatloaf , and it came with boxed-flakes or powder-mashed potatoes. The side dish I asked for was mac n cheese. That processed potato texture was an insult to my palate. The meatloaf was meh; funky texture wrapped in flabby bacon. Very cute, modern restaurant. We live in Ardsley Park and often walk down to this little shopping center to eat at Barberitos, pick up a pizza at Marcos, get some frozen yogurt at Sweet Frogs, or pick the pups up some treats at Tailspin and we've seen 5 spot many times but never tried it. It always looked a bit too "hip" to take the toddler in, but last night when we our first choice across town closed I remembered i"d been wanting to try 5 spot. It took our waiter practically forever to take our order. My husband watched him and it seemed like he was doing kitchen work at the same time, perhaps they were understaffed for the evening? The food came fairly quickly, I had the burger, my husband had the rueben, and the toddler had chicken tenders w/ peach bbq sauce. The burger was okay but nothing special, my husband liked the reuben, and the chicken tenders and fries were typical food service (like Cisco) food. The peach BBQ was a let down. The black beans I got as a side were the best I have had here in Savannah. Full of flavor. Just a small amount of heat. Hubby and I stopped by this neighborhood spot one afternoon with our adult son, we found everyone very friendly. They have a great menu, and the food was very good. We decided this was one restaurant we wanted to go to again and would take friend to. My son loved their potato salad! Stopped by another cold day, and the food was still great. Son was excited to order potato salad again, but it was different this day and he didn't like it. Everything else was great. We will be back often. read more

This is one of my favorite midtown brunch spots. The place has good videos with a small but trendy open dining room, full bar & a few covered tables on the sidewalk if you want to bring your four legged friends. A couple of coworkers and I went to this place after work to get some alcohol into our bodies. It has a nice atmosphere and is located in the Habersham plaza, which was a plus since there's plenty of parking. I got the perc coffee porter (apparently it's just local coffee...and then beer). It was mmmm good and nice and rich. I wasn't too hungry so I just got a side of their signature collard greens, but man were those delicious!! I don't even know if I swallowed, I just shoved it into my mouth. My friend also enjoyed the Tree Hugger cocktail which has cucumber liqueur, but unfortunately I didn't get to try any. read more

Terrible would not begin to describe the food served tonight. The onion soup was so salty that none of the 5 people at the table could eat it. Neither was it hot or lukewarm. The side dish of macaroni and cheese was served cold. The waiter agreed that the soup had been on the stove all day and salty. So he discounted 15%! 1st visit: Amazing Food (Got the Pulled Pork), Amazing service (even though they were busy the waitress took the time to see if we needed anything.) 2nd visit: Amazing Food (Burger), Horrible service! The place was almost empty (we arrived at 2pm) our service was horrible. In my entire life I've only not tipped 3 times and this was one of them. The waiters name was Mike took a good 5-10 minutes to get to us (if they were busy that's fine but the place was empty). Once he brought the food he never once checked in and asked if we needed anything (and again the place was empty) then when it was time for the check we had to ask another waitress for assistance because he was no where to be found. If the second visit was my first I would never returned, hopefully the third visit will be as great as the first. read more

The food was a pretty subpar, but the menu is pretty cheap so you get what you pay for, I suppose. Oh, and it's just WAY too cold inside. I know it's Savannah and they have to keep the heat out but they take it a notch too far- bring a jacket! read more

On one of our many outings to Savannah, mom and I ducked off into the cutest restaurant. The 5 Spot Neighborhood Kitchen & Bar is located in Habersham Village. We almost missed this jewel because of my little brat's insistence on going on River Street to eat but I'm glad I put my foot down. :o) On first sight, this restaurant has a very cool and trendy look to it. The exposed brick and silver accents make for very interesting surroundings and we found ourselves looking at the artwork/decor more than the menu. Ultimately we had to be reminded by our friendly waitress to look at the menu so we could order. Haha! Mom opted for the Basic Burger with sweet potato fries while I had the pulled pork, mac & cheese and broccoli. I went here for lunch yesterday and again today for brunch with my girlfriends. Yesterday I got the blackened salmon salad and the portions definitely the matched the price, very reasonable. Everything was also very fresh! Today I got the simple breakfast with two egg whites, ham and fruit. Despite how light of a breakfast this is, I was pleasantly surprised with the portions! In town for a youth soccer tournament. We always enjoy local fare as opposed to chains. The 5 Spot got our attention as a great little vibe. The staff was amazing. Our sever, phenomenal. In making small talk, we learned that she actually used to work at the very restaurant my husband and I met many moons ago for a blind date . The menu had a great variation of mouth watering choices. Unfortunately I think we were there on a night where the kitchen staff was just having an "off night". Our daughter found not one or two, but three hairs in her macaroni and cheese. The staff was quick to replace it. That was fine by us. The nail in the coffin for us not returning here is the raw-in-the-middle chicken sandwich, discovered after a few bites. The manager was profoundly apologetic, offering to comp our entire meal. We'd had some alcoholic beverages that we insisted on paying for, and also insisted on tipping our server for the full price of what our meal would have been. I do think this joint has some great potential and a great menu, with honorable staff. As stated, it had to be just an "off night" in the kitchen, hence just the one star reduction for the unfortunate food situation. 4 stars for the stellar integrity of the staff! read more
