The food here was very good. We ordered off Uber eats and had it delivered. My husband called to ask some questions about some of the dishes (re: ingredients) and they were super helpful. Our food came a long distance to us via Uber eats but it was still tasty. I got the portobello burger and sweet potato fries. He got chicken tenders and fries. Great food and great service! I came in for an early dinner. They are currently in the process of updating their restaurant and menu. They have added a falafel sandwich, buffalo chicken dip, and bbq pork sandwich to their menu. Also, they have lots of drink specials everyday from 2-6pm. I started with the fried green tomatoes. They were very unique as they sat on top of remoulade sauce and were drizzled with balsamic vinegar and cheese. Delicious! And slightly spicy. Next I had a turkey burger topped with provolone cheese and all the fixings. I also had some sweet potato fries. Yummy! Their sweet potato fries are delicious and they are the waffle fries too. And the burger was cooked just right, well seasoned too. The service was great too. Since there weren't too many people in the restaurant, the waitress was very attentive and the manager even checked on me. A very cool local spot to check out! read more

This place is great, and thus I had to update my review with five stars! Of course there are many amazing places to eat in Savannah, but The 5 Spot is definitely a must try. There are so many options and the food is always spot on. I've tried trying a bit of everything in the menu, but I always get stuck for a while on my favorites. My current obsession is their fried green tomato BLT. The tomatoes are fried just right, bacon is crispy, lettuce is fresh, and the pimento cheese adds a nice sweet balance to the salty tomatoes and bacon. read more

I miss the 5 Spot that used to be.... And the problems are not attributable to Covid. The menu changes are very disappointing, and I miss the menu items they removed. Worse perhaps is the staffing. It's not a lack of staff. It's a lack of caring by staff. I finally posted this review after three instances of "I couldn't care less" posturing by staff when our order was outright wrong, or almost cold. Our plates were snatched off the table without a word, and 20-30 minutes later were set back down the same way. Many don't take the time to write a review, but I work at one of the surrounding hospitals and hear the same from former regulars at work. This used to be one of my favorite stops. Clean, indoor outdoor seating. Nice atmosphere. Had a burger, which had a good beef flavor. Pleased to find real gluten free options other than just a salad. Chicken pot pie has a lovely flaky crust. The bowl of chili was more the size of a cup. They were quick to place an order for a gluten free grilled cheese to add on, took a while to come out, but was tasty. Ask for lemon in your water. It has a touch of that low country sulfur taste. Overall, a well run local eatery with a good menu and a thoughtful chef. read more

Management must be terrible. Staff walks around like zombies no one smiles. We waited for 5 minutes which seemed hours at the front door host station not one person acknowledged us. I walk through the bar to walk to the dining room to see if I could get someone's attention. The dining room had several empty tables. So I was confused on no one noticing us at the host station. A gentleman noticed us and said wait by the front door it would be 20 min for a table. Even though I noticed the dining room was just about empty. So I order a glass of wine an I get carded ( I am 60 years old and look it ha ) soon after a women walks up and says a table just left and they would seat us as soon as they set it ( remember the dining room only had 3 tables full when I looked in.) it's not a fancy set up either. Wipe a table and put napkins rolled with silverware nothing else. So after 25 minutes a person with no facial expression comes up and takes us to our table. At this time the dining room only had one other table seated. No one else was seated after us. The sever apologized 4 times for the wait since our salad and meat loaf too 30 minutes to arrive. She said they were understaffed. I agreed. Food was ehh and nothing interesting about the place. It was cleaner than their sister restaurant B Mathews. We did not think anyone working or managing had any hospitality experience. If I lived here I would not go back. Savannah must have better Restaurants. read more

My husband and I went for breakfast. Usually the food is good . Our waiter was not friendly at all . He never told us his name , he was more interested in playing on his phone . I ordered the fried chicken strips with a biscuits and sausage gravy.This is far from my usual super healthy diet but I wanted to spurge . I received a bowl of mush . Looked like they used the broken biscuits dumped on the sausage gray and a few chunks of chicken nuggets . I fished out the chicken in and among the glop . Total disappointment. The waiter could have cared less when he asked if everything was ok and I told him this is mushy . He just took our plates and brought the bill . My husband breakfast sandwich was good usually the food is good . . My biggest issue was mine and the waiter . Seems we are not the "Hipster " of the neighborhood . This is one of my favorite brunch spots in Savannah. The food great and you dont have to worry about the downtown craziness. I always find a parking spot in the lot next to it. The fried chicken and biscuits are my favorite brunch item ever! It can get busy, especially for brunch but it is worth the wait. Their lunch/dinner menus are also great. My husband and I are new in town. We have just recently moved from Miami. We went to The 5 Spot on a double date with new friends... and this was the worst experience we've had in Savannah since we moved. I am going to begin with the lack of a normal cocktail. I get it, they're trying to be adventurous and creative.. but sometimes people like ordering cocktails they know and love. For instance, why in the world is your Old Fashioned made with COFFEE BITTERS?!?!? That doesn't even make sense. Moreover, I am not sure if our waitress was new... but she was very nervous and shaky. She also didn't check up on us as much as she should have. We ordered the Nachos as an appetizer- that was the only part of dinner that was actually good. The melted cheese they use is delicious.. but everything else was meh. My husband ordered the Mushroom-swiss burger and mac and cheese as a side. I ordered a wild mushroom soup and the apple,bacon,brie burger- MEDIUM RARE. **********HERE IS WHERE EVERYTHING GOES SOUTH: -About 10 minutes after we placed the order... the waitress came to tell us that : a. They were out of mushrooms for his MUSHROOM-SWISS BURGER b. THEY HAD JUST run out of the mushroom soup I ordered. whatever, we can live with out mushrooms... But it doesn't end there... When we finally got our food, they served his burger with fries (not the mac and cheese he asked for) And my burger was WELL-DONE. it wasn't even Medium... and MOST CERTAINLY NOT MEDIUM-RARE as I asked... Also, do yourself a favor and don't order the mac and cheese from there... it is insipid. The boxed kraft mac and cheese you make in your microwave is more flavorful than that. overall, it was a very bad experience.. We actually came here tonight after having to leave another restaurant due to poor service. Will was our server and he was awesome and super attentive. Great personality and made up for our bad experience at the other restaurant. The food was fantastic, and came out in a timely manner. I got the Greek Salad and my boyfriend got the pulled pork plate. The bbq sauce was sooo good. Loved it! Will be back and hopefully Will can be our server again! read more

This place has gotten lazy. When The 5 Spot first opened a few years back, you could count on a clean, airy atmosphere; quality, well presented food; and good customer service. My experience yesterday was anything but. Upon entering my first impression was a mild, but apparent smell of garbage and a wet dirty floor. We waited for a table for a few minutes and then were led to our table. Under our table, someone had spilled their drink and it wasn't cleaned during busing. When I was last at The 5 Spot, I ordered the Collards and Bacon dip which was an amazing spin on a Spinach Artichoke dip. In The 5 Spot's earlier days, the dip was layered collards, cream, and bacon served bubbling with fried pita. Yesterday though, it was a nearly homogeneous paste served warm (the menu claims bubbly) with oily fried pita. Maybe they have a new chef? Likewise, my wife ordered the kale pesto pasta and was equally disappointed. She was hoping for pasta with large pieces of kale, onions, and bell pepper. Instead, it was penne pasta with blended kale stirred it. It was basically just oily noodles with little to none of the veggies listed. After re-reading the description, I saw that the kale was what was used to make the pesto and so it makes sense that the kale was blended, but the lack of other veggies and excess oil ruined the dish regardless. Finally, the bathroom looks like it hasn't been cleaned fully in months or longer. The glass light globes were dusty, Velcro and rips of paint we're shown all around where past soap dispensers once were, and overall was just kinda grimy. The 5 Spot, I hear you are opening a new restaurant where Juarez once was. Please fix your existing restaurants before spreading your overpriced mediocracy. And for goodness sake, do some deep cleaning. read more

Me and some friends from class came to check out this restaurant a few weeks ago and it was pretty good! When we arrived it took an unusually long time to be waited on to be seated. It felt like people were walking past us and around us but no one wanted to help us. Not sure if their host was busy or if other people were busy also but it kind of turned us away at first. Once we were finally seated and ordered drinks along with the appetizer of nachos (highly recommend) every one seemed content. I ordered the Smoked Gouda Burger, and I can't lie, that sucker was good. Very good meat and the toppings were right on point and the cheese was amazing. Great burger! I ordered the sweet potato fries as my side and that was def the way to go! The food was really great and the service was on par. My only complaint was at the beginning but I will certainly be back. Wasn't enough to turn me away. Savannah has some great lunch spots in the midtown area but this one is a must if you're hungry! read more

Great local spot in Savannah that is away from all the tourism but still has the local charm. We kicked the meal off with a half order of nachos which was a perfect portion for two people. I had the FGT Burger and my wife had the Black and Bleu salad. Both delicious and not too filling. On top of all that, they have awesome drink specials throughout the week to include happy hour on weekdays. Overall, nice spot for a relaxing weekend night meal with your significant other. What can be said for The 5 Spot in Habersham Village. The decor is inviting and the food was edible. Parking near the restaurant is a nightmare since there is no dedicated parking lot. Our burgers and chicken sandwich too a bit too long to be served up and when it was, the (obviously not fresh) battered fried were cold. We informed our waitress but never had a manager stop by to check on us. It's a nice place is you have leisure time but not friendly if you are watching the clock. read more

While I enjoyed the decor, this restaurant was incredibly average in terms of food. Their eggs were clearly not fresh, their omelette looked like they had just thrown some ham inside an egg-wrap (gross!), the "cheese grits" were undercooked and not cheesy, and the waitress was never around to refill our coffee or see how we were doing. I was incredibly disappointed, as this location is great and as I mentioned, the decor is spot-on. Additionally, I am not sure if they were understaffed, but there were a number (5+) of tables that were dirty, covered in food and used dishes, and had not been bussed in awhile. This was a huge turn-off, especially when the "buss-er" finally came around, and proceeded to wipe huge chunks of food onto the floor. I would prefer not to be walking out of the restaurant through scrambled eggs and home fries....thank you. The prices were reasonable, but there are so many better places to get your breakfast fix in Savannah. read more

I am so disappointed I have write this review! I've been a loyal customer of Five Spot for about 3 years. When I first moved to the area, my husband and I would eat here 3 days a week. The burgers, truffle fries, and wings were our absolute favorites in Savannah! However, within the past year, the quality of our favorite dishes has drastically declined. First went my beloved truffle fries. They got rid of their delicious beer- battered fries and substituted them for soggy "natural cut" fries. This completely ruined the texture of the truffle fries, because the truffle oil made them even more soggy. Even the servers that I talked to said they were disappointed with the fry situation, but change didn't seem to be in the works. We kept returning, but there was always something that was being changed or taken off the menu. The delicious coconut cream pie was off the menu this summer..... The turkey burger with yummy aioli was gone. We still visited often because the burgers and wings kept us coming back. Unfortunately, my meal tonight really sealed the deal. We love the wings because they're smoked and flash fried, so they always have great crispness and flavor. Tonight's wings were soggy and flavorless. They didn't seem smoked or fried at all. Really gross! My burger was ok, but the bun was mediocre. They used to serve their burgers on a great brioche bun. I'm writing this review not to be a jerk, but to implore Five Spot management to bring back the great quality food they had a few years ago. We really miss it. read more

The 5 spot has begun going downhill the way that Blowin Smoke did. We've been locals for almost seven yrs and we're foodies so we pay exceptional attention to changes. They began by eliminating a lot of reliable items, old standbys that regulars purchase, favoring the more obscure, less comforting items which is how Blowin Smoke started to fold. You can tell from the recent price hikes in tandem with the lower levels of food quaity, obvious skimping of portions to cut costs just cheats the customer. Their pricey $15-18 (depending on delivery) Blackened Salmon Salad turned from Filling to paltry in size starting with the meat slashed to 1/3rd the size of its original portion, The fill went from lush to wilted greens and from thriving with ingredients to scarcely there cucumbers and other vanishing veggies. In fact the whole thing smacks of a scarcity mentality and it just goes too far to charge ppl for an $18 salad that leaves you hungry and disappointed. 5 spot management is putting on the squeeze with the food and you can clearly detect it in your insides the way youre still barely satisfied after dinner. Please fix this, we wanna go back to being regulars and the outlook is not favorable for it in this establishment's quality decline. read more

Not a fan. Every time I give this place a try it fails me. Always something that should be hot is served cold. Something cold that should be hot often. Bummer for the area.
