Oysters with mignonette and hot sauce
    Christina P.

Came in on a Friday night because I wanted oysters. The restaurant was bustling but we didn't need a reservation at 730pm. Easy and free street parking in front. We ordered the crab dip, hamachi, half dozen oysters, poke bowl, and the Dubai chocolate cake for dessert. The hamachi was tasty and beautifully played. I ordered my oysters with mignonette and it was fantastic. It was more of a blended texture as opposed to straight vinegar, which I loved! And the hot sauce came in an adorable bottle. The poke bowl had great ingredients but I didn't like that they use basmati instead of sushi rice. It meant the rice blended up with the ingredients rather than sticking together in little bundles of yum. Service was 11/10! Our waitress saw me struggling to untangle my necklace and offered to tag team it with me! She even went to find a safety pin to help undo the knot! We were pleasantly surprised with live music as well. All in all, the vibe is great here. Upscale but casual with good food and beverages. I'll definitely be back for their lobster bisque and lobster roll!

This was my third time here and I had a wonderful experience. We sat at the bar which is a bit of an interesting mix of curated, trendy, and sports bar. Big tvs.. not sure if they throw off the vibe or make it unique. Not a huge sports fan so it didn't bring me any joy personally. Opted to choose off their cocktail list because I haven't had the best experience with them in the past and I'm very glad we did. Old fashioned and Negroni were perfect. Give me a giant ice cube for these drinks or nothing at all. Then we got the hush puppies Thai Chili and pork belly bites. Delish. Chefs kiss. Service was also good. Overall love this place for cocktails and apps. Need to experience dinner again another time. I do wish their out door seating was cuter. Better tables, awning, lights etc.

We decided to take my mom to a new place for her bday and this did not disappoint. While the menu is predominantly seafood there are some other good options. We started with French toast bites, pork belly bites and the Thai chili hush puppies. All three had good flavor and for the most part good value. For our meals we had fish and chips, Nashville hot biscuit(HUGE), grits and sausage patties, shrimp and grits, crab cake benny and the seared tuna. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. We came in on a Sunday and I guess it's a slow day as they only had one server that we noticed. Even though it wasn't super busy it was a lot for one person but he took it like a champ. It is a really cool place and the decor is nice. Overall we had a good experience here and would come back if we are in the area. I do think the Bellini flight should have been on some sort of serving platter like most places use to make it look nice.

A Truly Memorable First Visit. The ambiance was special and inviting. A perfect spot for unwinding after a long day at work. I stopped in for a quick bite and was warmly greeted by a sweet hostess. My server, India, was absolutely spectacular. She went above and beyond to make my first-time dining experience incredible. I had the oysters and the papaya salad which were both fresh and delicious. I also enjoyed an espresso martini that hit the spot. I'll absolutely be coming back. Highly recommend this gem.

    Seafood Roll

I've been here a few times, nestled in the middle of kirkwood it has a great location. Most of the time we come for a cocktail and light bites, but today I got take out. I was craving a lobster roll and I picked argonaut to suffice. While this is advertised as a seafood roll, it does have lobster in it. By far the worst lobster roll I have ever had. Not because of the blend of shrimp and lobster, but it was overly salted. I have never complained in my life about salt, it was so bad I threw my 25 dollar lobster roll in the trash. It wasn't even that buttery. The chips were the only thing I ate. I made my own remoulade at home to dip them in. Would be nice if they came with something. The food was ready in time. Argonaut feels like any upscale raw bar. Think McCormick and Schmidt's but smaller. Bottom line I'll come back to get drinks, but never again will I order food.

We wanted a lobster roll and the closest place was the Argonaut. We should have went somewhere else. The food was not good. The place is a good size yet we were only 1 of 2 guests in the entire place and service was really slow. I know this is a seafood place people enjoy but I was extremely disappointed in the food. My homemade lobster roll puts this to shame. It was dry, tasteless, and skimpy on the lobster. Also, there were quite a few shells in it as we so we couldn't eat it freely. I have to find a good weekday seafood place. I can't think of one I enjoy off the top of my head and that's the problem. I will go back and try something else, but this was a let down. One positive, I love restaurants that have sinks to wash your hands before/after eating outside the bathroom. Top of my head, only place I know that has that is Newks. I hate having to go into public restrooms just to wash my hands, so that I really appreciated.

I love a good oyster, so I couldn't pass up the chance to check out Argonaut in the Kirkwood neighborhood. They serve oysters sourced from Maine, Massachusetts, and Florida--definitely a highlight. The cocktails were just okay, and I was a bit disappointed with the blue crab dip. I expected it to be hot, but it was served cold, more like tuna/chicken salad. The peach cobbler cheesecake was very rich and tasty.

The term Argonaut conveys adventure and exploration, just like my tastebuds experienced as I indulged in the various dishes! Dining here on a Friday evening was a true culinary experience with friends. We began with drinks; I opted for the refreshing mango Jarrito, while my friends enjoyed their delicious cocktails. For appetizers, we tried both the ceviche and hush puppies, each bursting with flavor. The hush puppies, prepared with a glaze, offered a perfect balance. Let's talk about the oysters--they were incredible. When they arrived, our server explained the different types of oysters based on their origins. Some were bigger than others, which was expected since they weren't all the same variety. One thing they all had in common was their flavor: fresh and delicious! As I write this, I'm craving a few! As we moved through the menu, we selected both the Hamachi and the Norwegian Salmon. Both were delicious. The Hamachi was based with a citrus zest and pepper among other ingredients. The salmon cut was fresh and delicate, served with spicy cucumber and soy ginger. For the entrees, both the lobster roll and the smash burger were great choices. The burger has a kick to it, so if you're not a fan of spice, just let your server know to put the sauce on the side. The lobster roll was made with fresh ingredients and paired with a buttery roll. Scrumptious! After indulging in all the items on the menu, we couldn't leave without dessert. It was hard to choose, but the first runner-up was the peach cobbler cheesecake. It's such a treat! One bite leaves you wanting more! Now that we've set the tone with the food, let's talk about the ambiance of this place. It's a double-level venue, with the upstairs available for private parties. If you're celebrating a special event, this place can host it. The evening ambiance was upscale yet casual. The excellent service made the experience even better. There are also two bars and an outdoor patio if you want to catch some fresh air! The attention to detail at this restaurant is unmatched. There's impressive artwork on the walls and around the restroom area. The lighting is also perfect if you want to take a quick selfie to mark your visit to the latest restaurant in Kirkwood! It's also worth noting that there is free parking behind the restaurant for all patrons, which was a great bonus for me! My overall experience was amazing! I can't wait to see what's coming on their brunch menu!

Went to The Argonaut with friends and had a great time. I ordered the crab dip that came with bread for dippers. It was good; fair warning, it's served cold. I also tried the oysters, the blackberry I believe, and it was delish. Service was great; our waitress was Lydia (I hope I got that right) and she was the sweetest! Pretty cute for an oyster bar; would definitely recommend.

Had a long layover in ATL and came here with family. Was able to get an early dinner reservation. One of my favorite things is there is a non-alcohol drink shop called soberish across the complex and they allow you to bring drinks from the shop into restaurant. They also have a few cocktails not on the menu from soberish if you ask. There is an upstairs area as well that was not in use so seems to be ample seating. Seems like they change their menu frequently which keeps things interesting.

    Chai old fashioned
    Erica S.

I decided to stop in on a Saturday night, around 8:15pm. Let's get to it! Chai Old Fashioned, $13 - First off, I love a good old fashioned. This one did not disappoint. It had a hint of chai and cute cinnamon stick that smelled great when sipping it. Unfortunately, this is where the greatness ends. Hamachi crudo (Mediterranean), $18 - These prices scream LA (that's where I just moved from), but it's giving very much "wanna be LA." The fish should've been colder. The flavor needed more umph. The cracked black pepper was too much. The citrus was...fine. Butchers steak, $20 - What a let down. Verrrrry underwhelming. The kitchen thought that the chimichurri would prevail on the steak, but they completely forgot to salt & pepper the steak. Rule #1 - ya always S&P steaks. I had to ask for salt, which made it...fine. Would I order these 2 dishes again? Absolutely not. Would I even come back to this joint? Def not. I ate it because I was hungry. Did I finish my steak? Uhhh no. Could I have made one 30x better? Easily. So many other places to spend your hard earned money at, people. Take it from a foodie, skip this one. Just sayin'.

    Haejin B.

It was a bit strange in a sense that we weren't very comfortable. The place was not busy on a Saturday dinner time but was hard to find a staff to get the service. The portions of food were just very minimum that we literally went to another place after this one. We could have ordered more here but knew we won't like the food. It'd be a nice place for a drink or two with small dishes but not a full dinner meal.

    Hush puppies
    Christina H.

We came here on a Friday night and we were seated right away. Riley was great and provided us with excellent service! The lychee specialty cocktail was delicious, not too sweet which is what I prefer. The salmon was my favorite dish, wasn't dry and perfectly seasoned. I wouldn't order the crab dip again just because I prefer hot and warm crab dips, although it did not taste bad whatsoever. The hush puppies came with a spicy sauce but they were a little too dry for my liking. Would definitely come back and recommend!

Stopped in for a drink or two, but stayed a little bit longer for the music and The vibes. I was there on a weekend night, and it was super chill and had a really good performance situation happening on stage. This one is a little bit weird because you have to do certain things to be able to get in. It's not like it's an escape room situation, but at the same time, it's a little active. Not overly active to where you would be taxed when you get there. But you have to go follow some instructions and once you get in it's all gravy! There's a lot of space for table so you can sit in front of the stage or you can sit in the back or the bar is which is also very pristinely kept. Or their ceas behind that. And there's even a bowl of alley somewhere in the cut. It is a really really good spot. The entertainment was on point. They were playing a lot of hits, lot of old school which I appreciate it. Loved it. The drinks were fired. The bartender had a lot of personality and it was super engaging. Just what you want from Superior customer service. I would 101% go back. It was a lot of fun and a really good vibe. We just happened to walk in off of humbug, but I actually might remember reservations next time. Actually sit in the crowd to enjoy the music. Loved it.

We were instructed to go downstairs with a paper slip and "deposit" it into a deposit box downstairs. Upon doing this, we were granted access inside! It was pretty cool honestly! We sat at the bar upon arriving and ordered some drinks. They have a really nice drink menu with different cocktails and all the other liquors. They also have a full food menu too. Some people around us got food, and honestly, it looked really good! Our bartender Joey, was awesome! He was friendly and answered some of our questions about the drinks. He even made us espresso martini shots!! Hats off to Joey! The vibes inside are very prohibition-y. They had live music when we went, and I think they have live music most days during the week too. Roaring Social is located in downtown Decatur, so not too far of a walk from many other shops/bars/restaurants. We ubered, so I am not too familiar with parking, but I think there are parking garages nearby and street parking. I would definitely come back here in the future!

We were greeted right away by our wonderful server (forgot her name though) and she asked if it was our first time there and if we were celebrating something. We answered yes to both and they actually brought us complimentary champagne, a sparkling non-alcoholic cider for me because I ordered a zero proof drink. Kimball House is known for their amazing bar program, so my husband ordered a Kimball House served with a side of olives and lemon twist on ice, like what?! I ordered a ginger & honey lime fizz to enjoy. For starters, we also enjoyed Hawaiian rolls, green salad and some oysters for my husband. The rolls and salad came out super fast, but there was quite a wait for our drinks and oysters that I didn't think they were going to come out. The rolls are a must-get here - they're huge and the strawberry preserve it was served with was delicious! The salad was actually split in half, which was a super nice touch and was plenty of serving between two people. We loved the dressing - it was nice and fresh. For our entree, I ordered a trout and my husband ordered the duck breast. I was a bit underwhelmed when I saw my plate because I was thinking it would be a plate full of grits, but what was served was the perfect amount because it was quite heavy. The trout by itself was too salty for my taste, but was best eaten with a bite of collards and grits. My husband enjoyed his meal, but wished the duck was cooked a bit more. For dessert, we both enjoyed a Paris Brest. Our server actually put it in twice so we each got one when she meant to only punch in one, but she ended up taking one off from our bill. I was quite shocked that our whole dinner was only around $190, not including tip, which I thought was quite reasonable. We definitely recommend this place for date night or simply for delicious food.

Once they arrived, the staff gave us a few minutes to make sure the 2 had a chance to look at the menus. We ordered appetizers to start...corn bread, sage fried pierogies and poutine. We weren't sure about the poutine because we didn't see any gravy, we did see the cheese curds on the fries, but once we finally dug in, the gravy was at the bottom. The pierogies were tasty. We asked if they could cut the cornbread so each of us could get a taste, which they did. Corn bread had a toasted texture, and the honey butter was delicious! Everyone ordered something different. One had fish and chips, which would seem to be a likely order for a pub. Their special for the day was a ruben. Another ordered a falafel sandwich, and I think 2 salmon BLT's and then one salad with rainbow trout. Portions were not overwhelming, but we realized that we were full from the appetizers and almost everyone ended up taking most of their main choices in doggie bags (boxes). I was told it was listed on their website, but let's be real...this is 2026--people are checking IG and TikTok, not websites. If you're promoting on social media, it needs to be accurate. We got there around 4:15 PM (happy hour starts at 4), and the place was empty--music wasn't even on yet. My party of four was seated right away, and we ordered drinks, food, and hookah. The lounge itself was beautiful--decked out in red and black with a really nice vibe. I had lemon drops and wings--both were actually really good. No complaints on the food or drink at all. But just know, the wings were not $5 since that special didn't apply that day. Now...the hookah experience? A complete mess. The hookah wasn't $5 either--it was $25 if I recall correctly. The hookah attendant recommended a flavor that was honestly not good at all. When we told her we didn't like it and asked to switch flavors (which we were willing to pay for), she tried to make us purchase a refill instead of simply fixing the issue. We asked to speak to a manager. She went to the back and spoke with someone who I later found out was the owner--but he never came out to address us. That alone didn't sit right with me. Instead, she came back, grabbed the hookah, and walked off. No explanation, no replacement--nothing. It felt like, "We won't charge you, but you're also not getting another one." That whole situation completely turned us off. Now I will give credit where it's due--our waitress was an absolute sweetheart. Friendly, attentive, and she did her best to take care of us. But overall, between the misleading Instagram promotion, the poor hookah experience, and the lack of management presence...this just wasn't it for me. Giving Voss 2/5 for good food, a beautiful space, and a great waitress Everything else? Needs work. Unfortunately, I won't be back!
