Super cute atmosphere we ate at the bar and it was perfect. Everything we ate there was really good. We were talking to the people around us and they said everything they've tried is good. They're especially known for their smash burgers although we didn't have them. The guy next to us was going on and on about it, the service was phenomenal. The bartender was great helping meet you a wine to pair with the food that we ordered.. I can't wait to be back in va beach so I can eat at the Atlantic again

This past weekend my in laws were in town. We were on the boardwalk and they wanted oysters... I said say less! I had been to The Atlantic years ago and had a great time. I think this time was even better! We arrived around 230 on a Saturday, lucky for us happy hour started at 3 and we had a 30 minute wait for 6 people. Literally perfect timing because no one was waiting before us and about 10-20 minutes later the waiting area became packed for that 3 o clock happy hour. Side note: happy hour is from 3-7, 7 days a week! The service was phenomenal, the whole staff was so nice and accommodating. While we waited for our table, we were able to order a cocktail from one of the waitresses. We also had a baby with a stroller and they made sure we had plenty of room once we were seated at our table. The food was amazing, I'm a fan of cooked oyster but i decided to be a little spontaneous and try them raw. I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and clean tasting these oysters were. It reminded me of eating sashimi. My wife and father in law had the lobster rolls, they both loved them! My son had the double cheeseburger from the happy hour menu, literally cannot beat this deal. $6 double cheeseburger with fries on the boardwalk is unimaginable lol. I had the Nashville hot chicken, which was good but maybe could've used a little more flavor. But the quality of the sandwich as a whole was spot on. I really don't have any complaints, this was the highlight of our day. My in laws live in Wisconsin but they travel a bunch and they said that these oysters were some of the best they had ever had. They would never see 1$ oysters where they live, so I'm glad we were able to come here and create this memory together. If you've ever debated whether taking the trip to the strip is worth it, it is! Definitely check this place out!

You get more bang for your buck during their happy hour. Unfortunately we missed it & had to do dinner instead. It is a popular restaurant & during the peak of summer (July) so you bet it was busy! For those that care, 20% gratuity for parties of 5+, which is pretty standard around the area. We called ahead to see if we could make a reservation, was told it was only a 30 min wait. Once we arrived, there was a tiny valet parking area. We put our party of 5 (2 kids & 3 adults) on the waitlist & was told 45 min-1 hr & that we would be notified via text once our table was ready. That definitely did not happen. I only received a text when we checked in. I saw a couple groups who checked in after us get seated before us, so that was quite frustrating. After waiting 20 mins over our expected wait time, we went up to the front desk to inquire about our table & was told we would be seated next. That finally happened. Our server, Shannon (I think?) was actually awesome-- patient, friendly & attentive to our table. For starters, We ordered the mini rolls ($5). It came with 4 of the tiniest sized balls of bread that I've ever seen & a side of butter. They were serving sizes for a toddler! Would definitely not ever order that again. What a waste of $5, honestly. We ordered a cheeseburger w/fries for the kids, a double patty burger, low country boil, fish & chips, oysters Chesapeake & oysters garlic & herb. The kids loved their cheeseburgers & ate it up. Barely any fries left from their plate (10/10) The double patty burger was a (8/10), way too salty. The low country boil ($24 I think?) was very salty! I wouldn't order that again (4/10) Fish & chips were mediocre (6/10) The oysters Chesapeake ($18) were the best thing we ordered (10/10) Oysters garlic & herb was extremely disappointing (1/10)! I grew up by the beach & loved eating oysters. These oysters were the tiniest oysters I've ever seen. I cannot believe they are charging people $14 for 6 of these oysters! They no kidding were the size of my thumb nail, if that! Definitely a waste of $14 & do not recommend! If you're craving oysters & want to visit this place then go during their happy hour where it's $1/oyster.

I went here for my birthday a few months back, and forgot to review it! I really loved this place, and have been back once since for another happy hour. I'd been dying to try this place, and finally was able to. It definitely was everything I wanted and more. I ate probably 20+ oysters and a few clams that day. My favorite was probably the raw clams. They had more flavor than the oysters that day. My favorite oyster was probably their rock. The pacific was also a great one, but the chesapeake just had a little too much mushroom flavor. I do enjoy mushrooms, but when there's no other flavor really going on and it's supposed to have oyster in there, it's not really that great. My dad and I also split a calamari app, and it was pretty good. The sauces they put on there have great flavor, but don't take away much from the batter's crispiness. They also came out piping hot, and not chewy. We also split their happy hour burger, and it definitely is better than the price makes it seem. Since it was happy hour, I decided to try most all of the drinks on the menu. The only one I didn't try was their sangria, but that's only because I'm not that big on them. Out of all of them, the overcast was my favorite. Very refreshing and light. Desert sun was also one of my favorites along with the southside. Mean bean was a bit heavy for being so early in the evening, but a great option if you like hard dark liquor. The oyster shooter was basically straight up alcohol with an oyster in it, so you didn't really taste the oyster. It seems more like a fun little trick shot to show off to your friends about and make them gag. It really isn't that bad. On my second time here, the oysters were better than the clams. I also got their fried pickles and their hushpuppies. If your planning on sharing with more than one person I'd say get two orders of pickles. As far as the hushpuppies go, skip them. You can't really taste the crab, and they're really just lacking in flavor in general as well. The butter and jalapeños together is what really makes the dish, and it shouldn't be like that. They should be good enough on their own, at least that's what I think. This time I only had one drink, their "Saiko" sparkling sake, which although isn't on their happy hour menu, is still relatively cheap. It was as refreshing as drinking a light cocktail, and paired well with the seafood. I'm definitely gonna keep coming back to try more and more of the menu and drinks during happy hour. If you do ever want to come during that time, I recommend showing up a little before the time comes, because it gets crowded real fast.

Another amazing experience at The Atlantic with my friends. I've now gone 2 times within a month's time frame lol. That's how addicted I'm becoming. Unless you park in public parking and walk to the restaurant their parking is Valet only. It's customary to tip a few dollars when dropping off your vehicle and when you're done with your meal and retrieving your vehicle. Be mindful that you more than likely will have a wait. Each time I've come there has been a wait of 20+ minutes to be seated. Each time we ended up finding space at the bar eventually and enjoyed our night there. The bartenders are amazing and very personable. I have gotten Sangria both times and each time they hit! The fried shrimp like I said before in another review is amazing. But the only downfall is you only get 3 shrimp for $6! Overall a part of me doesn't want to share how amazing this hidden gem is but the other part of me wants to shout from rooftop all about my new favorite spot.

Finally back at the Atlantic, and it's still the best happy hour in Virginia Beach. There was a wait, but there's an area where you can sit and you can order drinks from the happy hour menu while waiting for your table. Oysters were just as good as last time. Service was quick and friendly. Oh, and I tried the pork, shrimp, and kimchi dumplings, and that was the bomb!

Absolutely LOVE this place! Been going here since 2020 during Covid when they had the outside seating and/or you could pick up To-go Happy Hour orders! (What a time!) Quality of food and service has always been Top Tier! They have a Happy Hour that cannot be beat!

Well we went early before happy hour had a beet salad and calamari which was one of the Bette to have had in a long time crispy, great aioli, just so good once happy hour hit we killed some oysters baked and raw...so good out waiters were awesome always asking what we needed drinks were great. At 3 place gets packed and we were there on a Wednesday and I know why very good. Inside is very nicely decorated not loud easy to talk...great first date place.

Happy Hour specials were phenomenal and all were delicious. Our service was incredible considering the crowd thanks Douglas! Food came out accurately and quick. The place was loud with everyone enjoying themselves- great vibes! We enjoyed our three different HH oysters, so fresh and the ingredients so flavorful. We had Oysters Rock, Chesapeake and Garlic butter roasted. Fried pickles were really good as was the pimento cheese with bacon jam and pickled red onions served with seasoned saltines. The HH double grilled cheese burger was so juicy and delish. We finished with their house made sorbet, guava flavored and house made ice cream bowls in lemon Cheescake flavor and the mint chocolate chip was the best. These are all served as small plates and satisfied three of us. Order and share! Highly recommend and will be back again next visit.

Special of the Day, Crispy Swordfish Slider
    Joshua B.

Lives up to the Yelp rating! We checked in around 3:30pm on a Monday and there was already an hour wait. Not a big deal, because there's plenty to do to waste time on the boardwalk. We were texted 45 minutes later and were sat down immediately. The main reason for this visit was to try the oysters. Never liked them anywhere I tried but I wanted to give it one more time. During Happy Hour the oysters are $1-$1.25 each. I got an order of the Fried Oysters, with some kind of sauce. I think I like fried oysters now! They weren't slimy like many I tried before. They had so much flavor that the sauce isn't really needed, I ended up getting a second order. Second dish, I got the Special of the Day, the Crispy Swordfish Slider, with spacey aioli, and pickled cucumber kimchi. This barely qualifies as a slider, it's almost a regular sandwich. The toppings pair well with this item, the swordfish itself is about an inch thick! Last item was the Pork, Shrimp, & Kimchi Dumplings, also a great item. Chili flakes are in this dish so it's a little spicy btw. Reserve a table if you don't want to wait long, but if you don't, it's worth the wait, 5 stars! .

While we sadly missed their Mon-Sun 3-6pm happy hour.... We had the most wonderful, entertaining and educational time at the Oyster Bar for dinner. If you enjoy Oysters, there is an Oyster Sommelier, Slim, you will not want to miss. His knowledge was so fascinatingly educational you left feeling you should have paid for the show. We were offered Oysters from all over the US and if you catch them on the right day, the World. I ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich, and let's be clear...this is an extremely spicy slider. Not a sandwich. If you are hungry and not an Oyster/Seafood fan. You might be leaving hungry. The drinks were reasonably priced and the atmosphere at the Oyster Bar can not be beat. Service was fantastic. We can't wait to visit again and again.

I cannot believe that I've never written a review for The Atlantic. I have visited this restaurant for years, and I have never had a bad experience. For low-key, easy breezy seafood bites and drinks, The Atlantic is my go-to on the Oceanfront. Although the food is delicious, I will also say that the service is always impeccable. The restaurant has a very generous 7 days a week happy hour where you can get a nice sample of what they have to offer. Note, if you go for happy hour, it is best to arrive super early to get a spot at the bar because the place will fill up very fast. For seafood bites, I highly recommend the Oysters Rockefeller, steamed mussels (OMG, the wine sauce/broth is out of this world delicious), and the AMAZING hushpuppies. Also, the restaurant has free parking. Since it's a valet service, remember to bring some cash to tip the folks in valet.

    CHINCOTEAGUE
    Destiney B.

We had a very pleasant experince at The Atlantic. We started off with the Paloma and the coco nojito. Both were refreshing and tasty. My starter was the CHINCOTEAGUE oysters which were fresh and delicious. My partner started with the cheese curds which I of course stole a few as they were so yummy. For our entrees he had the Nashville Hot Sandwhich which he really enjoyed with the house hot sauces they gave us. I decided on the tuna tar tar and hamachi sashimi. They were both quite delicious especially the hamachi sashimi but I was a little disappointed by the portion as it was much thinner than pictured on their online menu. I cannot remember the name of our waiter but he gave us excellent service and we really enjoyed the chic beachy atmosphere. 10/10 recommend
