After going to church, the wifey wanted to go eat with some friends from our bible study. So we decided to try this place, which I had never been. There was a total of 12 people from our class coming here, and we even tried to call ahead to reserve a table, but they only reserve tables with a days notice. So we all arrive and they say it's going to be a 30 min wait (ended up being closer to an hour). By the time we get seated we're all ordering appetizers like maniacs. We got the pretzel sticks which were very good. For my main course I've heard the burgers were awesome so I went with the Moab burger, and I wasn't disappointed. It had two kinds of cheese, mushrooms and bacon. I'm going to have to come back and try another burger until I work my way up to the giant $60 burger! I usually leave very positive reviews. We eat out most meals and are accustomed to good service and we tip well. Today was an exception. The wait staff was rushing us to make a menu decision. I ordered beef fajitas for one and they brought me combo fajitas that were not even sizzling. I also asked for no rice and no beans but to give me an extra sour cream scoop and a guac scoop. The wait staff did not apologize for the wrong meat sent out and then charged me 3.00 extra for the sour cream and guac. It literally was a small spoonful. When we asked about the difference i price she displayed an attitude, which in turn caused me to ask to speak with her leader. She walked away and despite our waiting no one ever came to our table. This is only one of two times in the last 8 years or more that we left without tipping. She had a 25% until the attitude. The food was marginal and not worth the hassel of dealing with an attitude, when all i did was ask a question. That was the last 60.00 they will see from our household. Sadly as i said we eat out most meals and this could have been a great new place to add to our rotation or for our 3rd friday supper group. Very sad at how customers are treated. It's been many years since my last visit here. The reason for the delay was that my past visits underwhelmed me hence the long delay. Recently, I have dined twice to be able to write this review. My first visit was dining in the bar area on a weekend with the restaurant doing a brisk business. For that meal, I tried their large chicken fried steak dinner that comes with mashed potatoes, gravy and toast for $10.29. The meal came out in less than 15 minutes. While large in size, the taste of the CFS was not to my liking. I thought it was bland and similar to other CFS's that I have had that I wouldn't order again. Along with the mashed potatoes, the meal made me feel bloated and wishing I had ordered something else. I gave this meal a 2 for the taste but will admit that the price was very reasonable and the table service was good. My second visit about a week later was again for dinner and this time I asked for the Buckaroo which is their chopped steak that comes with mushrooms, onions and brown gravy along with a loaded baked potato for $10.49. This meal was better that I gave a 3.5 to. The brown gravy was thick and while the potato was large, it needed more butter which I asked for. The cheese wasn't evenly melted in the potato and needed more sour cream and butter as it was dry. The extra butter helped the potato a lot. Again the price was very reasonable and table service good. On weekends they have live music in the bar area (1 musician) and there is a large outdoor patio. I will give an overall score of 3 and might come back to try something else since I pass by here often. But I won't be in a hurry to return. read more

I received a $10 voucher for lunch and decided to go all-out. This was my third visit, but my first time at the bar. The bartender was super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I started with a tall bud light on draft and it was ice cold. The veggies were delicious and the chicken dish was cooked perfectly. Okra didn't need any sauce as it was perfect. Another Yelper told me about the Backyard grill and I was tempted to try their burgers. I did not take the best of picture, as I was having trouble with my camera lense. The restaurant is pretty spacious from inside with seats outdoor and indoor. We decided to sit outdoor. After looking thru the menu, I finally decided to go with the snakebite burger with sweet potato fries. There were other choices, which I wanted to try but couldn't make up my mind. The burger was very good. It was juicy and tender and the snakebite was a flavored sauce in the burger. Their buns were very good too. I believe it was a sourdough and my fingers were sticking onto the buns. That made the experience more enhancing as the buns was in proportion with the meat and the fixings and by gluing on to my fingers, I had better control of each bite. This will be my first visit after reading some of the review and great offer by the Backyard Grill. This place is bigger than what I had imagine. It is located in a corner spot of a shopping center. At first glance they have some outdoor sitting as well. The Hostess was friendly, and the wait staff was friendly as well. So my family and I order some appetizer, while we waited for our other family members to arrive. Our wait staff her name is eddy if I remember right? She is very attentive, and while we waited, we have a chance to scan the whole menu, they have a lot of selections to choose from. So once our other members for the family arrive, we order Burgers and chicken fried steak and added a large nacho to boot. The food came out pretty quick, and my daughter order 2lbs of crawfish, which the crawfish is in season right now. The manager came over and visit with us a little and talks about their crawfish, and different spices they have and how many different flavors that you can choose from. Stay away from the Ass kicking heat spice, it has a good kick to it. So anyway, the overall experience was great, the staff was great and the manager on duty was great as well. Just went there and service was not so good. Chicken tortilla soup tasted old and manager just said "oh, you don't like our recipe". We did get the soup taken off and the grilled chicken sandwich was tasty. The inside area is dark and has cold ac on really low so go to outside deck. They have potential but I won't be going back. OMG, Crab Me No Apple! No star, I left without eating and aggravated. All because of one crab apple bartendress. This has never happened to me before! This isn't a chain style sports bar, so if you're looking for lots of big screens and a large bar, you're going to be disappointed. Having said that, there are plenty of TVs around for watching sports. Beer selection is very large. I like all of the food I've tried - pretzel appetizer is top notch (esp. with beer cheese), their burgers and sandwiches are excellent, their kimchi tacos are good as well. This is a neighborhood American Restaurant / Bar. They must be doing well as they have expanded the inside since my last visit several years ago. The first thing that caught my eye is the beer list. For a neighborhood bar it's HUGE with really good beer selections. Very impressed. It's a rustic western type interior, nice patio and looks like an area for parties. The menu is extensive with burgers, CFS, chili, all things American. I give the place a good rating based off the ambience and beer list. I don't think it's a must try though. I wouldn't make a special trip but I think the locals nearby are pretty lucky to have the place. If nearby I will suggest stopping by. read more

We're quickly becoming fans of this place. The menu is very diverse and it's hard to make a choice. The burgers are really good and who can pass on a great burger? Obviously my son and husband tonight. Our server was very helpful and made great suggestions I ordered a snake bite burger with sweet potato fries, my son ordered the suggested buffalo platter and DH ordered a dinner platter. Everything was very good and we'll be back again to continue to support local businesses. They have a banner outside that says ' eat here or we both starve'".
