It really depends on the day is what I think of this place. Went in just after stopping buy the jamba, and it was super busy. They had at least 5 people behind the counter. Good for them. I waited for maybe a minute ordered. (superseed toasted, kupermans, w/peppercinos, just mayo) My order was done before I could play one full minute of bejeweled blitz on my iphone. Absolutely love their blended iced coffee drinks, its my favorite coffee drink! The employees here are always very polite and friendly. Love that this location has a drive-thru, Although it can be a bit tricky if there's more than 3 or 4 cars in line, but that is rare. I go here pretty often, and the service is fast. The tiny, Asian lady always smiles and laughs at me when I order a plain, toasted, sausage bagel with no egg. (I personally don't like just egg, it has to be cooked in with something) They also have a lot of drinks and snacks to pick from, and their place is really clean and has fresh air as well as a little air conditioning. I'm not usually one to write a review, but this made me do it. I love the bagel bakery, I go to the pg one normally, but sometimes I'll go to the seaside shop because it's convenient if you're out here. So I came here twice in two days for my normal sandwich, and they've messed up both times. Yesterday, 4 different sandwiches were ordered on 4 different bagels, but when we got home we saw that she made them all on superseed bagels. Okay maybe she just spaced it. But then today, a totally different girl messes up on an order of 2 sandwiches on 2 different bagels. These girls are rude, incompetent, and they just have the most upset look on their faces. You hate your job, we get it. But please don't take it out on my bagel. Overall I'm giving them 2 stars because despite the wrong orders, the bagels are still delicious. read more

Very disappointed in the bagel bakery today, went and purchased 3 chicken bagels (#4 on the menu.) When I got my order I took the first bite and the chicken inside of it wasn't properly done the chicken was still raw on the inside. I went in to speak to whoever was working I spoke to a women she told me the chicken was brought in from a outside company and they don't cook it in store, then a man came out and told me the same thing they did nothing else. As we left the other employees around seemed to giggle as we took off. I'm disappointed because that bagel place was very convenient and had good bagels but this instance the bagel tasted absolutely gross. Last time I will ever be going there. read more

This place is consistent, and I am a BIG fan of consistent! I have gotten the turkey sandwich, the lox and cream cheese and the standard wheat bagel with light cream cheese. It is all good and the bagels are fat, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I don't love how you have to pay a 'la cart for all the beverages, but for a $.95 bagel, you can't beat it! The one in Seaside is a very short bike ride from my house so my husband and I like to stop there for breakfast before a bike ride. The strawberry cream cheese is excellent and they have a pretty decent cup of coffee, so don't be lured by the other stuff two doors down, for twice the price. Good location in a shopping center just off the freeway with plenty of parking and right next to a Jamba Juice and Starbucks. Although I typically just go inside, they have a drive thru which you rarely see for a bakery. The design flaw however is that the drive thru fits maybe 2-3 cars and overflows out into a main road in the parking lot so in the morning or peak hours, there can be a little bit of a backup in cars. Im a bagel and cream cheese kinda girl so can't comment on their bagel sandwiches but I do enjoy their bagels overall. I typically get their superseed bagel, toasted (which is lightly toasted and not overly crunchy). One thing I don't particularly care for is that they use Whipped Cream Cheese versus the Original. So when the bagel is warm from being toasted the whipped cream cheese melts much quicker into bagel. read more

This place is awesome. On the way out of Carmel Valley, we were looking for a Starbucks. The one we picked in Monterey was super small and crowded so we looked at the next one in Sand City, but then I spotted this Bagel Bakery and anything with bagel in the title, I am there. Anyways, this place is right next to a Starbucks and is waay better. Cheaper too! Love that you can pick your bagel, and the coffee! The coffee is way better than Starbucks coffee too! This place is very dirty. I seen a cockroach running around near the coffee. This place needs a good scrub down. Just look around. Dirty, dirty, dirty. The workers are very rude. They do not care about their job or customer service. They microwave the "omelette". It's scrabbled eggs in a plastic food container and microwaved until cooked. I don't know about everyone else but I don't like microwave cooked eggs. Marina Donuts and Bagels is a lot better. They are clean and friendly. read more

It's fine... everything is just okay not awful but not great either. The inside of the restaurant is hot, loud, and uncomfortable so I wouldn't suggest planning to eat in there. There aren't a ton of choices for bagels in the area so for what it is it works. read more

Spotted this drive-thru bagel place years ago and finally gave it a try a week ago. I had never been to a bagel bakery, so the drive-thru menu was a little overwhelming with all of the choices. BEST BAGELS HANDS DOWN. I have been to many bagel shops all around California and this place sells some dam good bagels. From the onion, garlic, plain, egg, cinnamon raisin, to whatever they are just about all delicious. My only beef with this place is the service. They are verrry verrry slow. And they make no apologies for it either. Kinda crazy this place has a drive thru....I guess pretty cool. I went inside. Took forever to get thru the line. Maybe they need more workers or something. I was in a hurry and trying to be reasonable but after an ordeal of more than 20min it gets ridiculous. Guess next time I will try to hit this joint at a better time to try and cut down on the wait time. If there's more than 4 ppl in front of me next time I am out. read more

I dropped by the Bagel Bakery for a quick breakfast on my way up the city a couple of weeks ago. I haven't been to the Bagel Bakery in months--possibly years?--but I've been a fan since middle school. I ordered my usual--a Super Seed bagel, toasted, with low-fat cream cheese. I was shocked to find out the cost of such a simple meal--nearly $3! I remember when it was a mere 99 cents for the same meal. I guess it's a sign of the times. I was also disappointed with the service here--the cashiers just seemed a little absent, nothing like the attentive and enthusiastic staff I remembered from my youth. This place is gross. I came here early on a weekday and it already looked disgusting. You can see their bagel work stations and there was trash and crumbs all over the floor. The work stations looked like they hadn't been cleaned in about a week. I saw an unhappy worker spill a dollop of cream cheese on the dirty workstation, pick it up with the spreading knife and spread it on the bagel and then used the same knife to continually dip into an open container of cream cheese. The bagel she assembled looked like someone puked cream cheese all over it. Workers do not use gloves or wash hands in between orders. I've come to this location a lot and been consistently disappointed with the service. I keep coming back, however, because I really like bagels. I've read a lot of reviews and they coincide with everything that has gone on in my experience with this store. Bad attitudes, rude behavior, messing up my order and strange pricing differences when I always order the same thing. I honestly don't understand how a business can run like this..with all these bad reviews, potential complaints and over all horrible service. Who's the manager?! The GM?! Been coming to all the Bagel Bakeries for almost 25 years. Somebody bought the place a few years ago and they can't seem to do anything right. The bagels taste like they are day-old, really stale! I was helped by an asian lady name julie sooo rude. I bought a couple of bagels to later notice that they were moldy went back to return it at least get my money back but non of them were helpful or at least to make it up to me i wanted to speak to the manager she came out a big black lady thought she could help me out but was even more rude than julie. This place is convenient yes, but that's it's only plus. EXTREMELY RUDE SERVICE, especially the females, and 99% of the time my order is wrong. And when I try to order my iced chi, it comes out warm and flavorless. I keep going back however because the one type of sand which I order is pretty good but they ALWAYS forget to add the avocado that I order, so when I call them on it they act like it's my fault, I usually get a eye roll accompanied by them asking "well can we just put it to the side of the bagel?" NO! It's really early in the morning when I go, so I definitely don't have the patience for rudeness and just plain stupidity. The Bagel Bakery is a great place to get a bagel in seaside I always come here for one of my favorites and it's the onion bagel toasted with cream cheese. I always get that but the have a big variety of different bagel sandwiches if onion bagels aren't your thing. They also have Red Bull's, orange juice, coffee, monsters, and more. They also have a drive up window just in case your in a hurry or need to get on the road. There service is good sometimes a little slow but they always deliver good service. There lobby is a good size to eat a bagel with some coffee or a bagel sandwich. They also have a different selection of cream cheese like jalapeño and salmon. Sometimes the bagels can be a little chewy so might want to ask them to toast it a second time in my opinion. They also can give you cream cheese on the side if needed it's a great place to go to and me and my family have been coming here for years. read more
