The 2.8 stars tells you the story. Chewy bagels, impatient and not so kid friendly attendants.

Wrinkly sad looking bagels with a tough texture. Bagels should be on point if that's literally what your name is. Getting rid of pumpernickel was a bad move. We'll miss this place, hope it can turn around.

Thank you Bagel Bakery for a fantastic bagel breakfast. I ordered online but still had to wait a few minutes when we arrived. They were busy! Always a good sign. I ordered a sesame bagel with lox spread, tomato and cucumber. Overall, a solid sandwich! I opted to have my bagel toasted, but not sure it was. Despite that, the bagel was big, just soft enough and slightly chewy like I prefer. I enjoyed it! They don't have an everything bagel on their menu, but I think their "super seed" bagel is basically an everything. We also got a couple cups of their hazelnut drip coffee and it was delicious. Lots of hazelnut flavor and not watered down at all. Would recommend swinging by The Bagel Bakery if you have a hankering for a bagel. Plenty of parking available in the lot! I recommend ordering ahead to avoid the line.

    New Yorker

Stopped at this spot while charging at the Tesla superchargers. Service was fast and prompt, and the lady who helped us was very sweet. I got the New Yorker because I LOVE anything smoked salmon lox, and this sandwich was great. The one criticism I have is that the plain bagel I got was slightly stale.. but I'm assuming it's because we arrived at the end of the day, a little after an hour before closing. I did not mind all that much because the amount of salmon and cream cheese was perfect, and I even requested if I can have capers on my sandwich and I was able to get it no questions asked :) while this was a slight flaw, it's not enough for me to avoid this place. I will definitely come back whenever I make a trip to Monterey.

The vegetarian no tomatoes add turkey

One word, trash. I have been going to Bagel Bakery for a long time. I remember when you could get a bagel sandwich for less than $5. The price of your sandwich included the bagel, some were 10c more. Today I paid almost $11 for a Superseed bagel with "the vegetarian" which is Tomatoes Sprouts Avocado Onions Mayo and mustard I asked for no tomato add turkey. Two pieces of turkey cost $3. The "vegetarian" is $5.95 So I guess they charge for the bagel too- I'm sorry but this is just outrageous. I understand inflation, but you can't tell me this bagel cost more than $2-$3 total. The guy who helped me was super sweet. It's not his fault that the quality is less than it used to be and the cost has more than tripled. You could order a meal in a sit down restaurant for the same $11.

    BLT croissant

Used to be my bagel go to. No more folks. $24 for 2 BLT croissants that are mostly lettuce. There sign states $9.45- that's for the bacon, lettuce, tomato only.

Sausage comes with sausage egg and cheese, I added the bacon.

When we arrived they had a small parking lot but busy because they do a lot of Door Dash and Uber Eats business. Once inside I took a quick look at the menu and saw they had breakfast burritos of either Chorizo-Sausage-Ham-Bacon or Veggie. I chose Chorizo breakfast burrito($10.39) The shop is run by the owner-he was the cashier and the cook. In talking to him,he was telling me that his family owns multiple Mexican small shops like this in the Juarez Mexico area and El Paso Texas area.Says that all the shops use the same recipe for their hot sauce that is served with the burritos. Once the burrito arrived,it was both heavy and warm.Once I cut it open,I was able to appreciate the craftsmanship of this burrito in all its chorizo, egg, potato and cheese glory-it was beautiful. As pretty as it was though,it tasted even better,I had planned on only eating half of it as I had a tee time in less than an hour but one bite led to another and then it was gone. I've had many breakfast burritos in my day and as unexpected as this is to say, this may have been the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Also the aforementioned family-recipe hot sauce that came with the burrito was so spicy yet so tasty--perfect combo to a perfect burrito. In closing,if you ever find yourself in the Monterey area and you want to treat yourself to some upper echelon breakfast burritos-do yourself a favor and stop at 3 Mundos sandwich shop-a top tier food experience awaits.

Each bite was fresh and flavorful, even beforr adding some of the house made salsa, which added an even bigger burst of flavor and some heat. I ate 1/2 on site, and rewrapped the other half and enjoyed that while at the golf course.

We met Raul at the counter. He is by far the most friendly, kind and informed restaurant staff (about gluten sensitivity, gluten allergy and what it is to have Celiac) we've ever met. He explained how he prepares the gluten free dough separate, bakes it separate and plates it separate. Based on Raul's genuine concern and knowledge, my hubby decided to try it. Our family had various different sandwiches. (I had the very delicious Vegetariano.) We all agreed they were THE BEST SANDWICHES WE'VE EVER HAD...EVER...ANYWHERE...(mike drop). The freshly baked bread was incredible, all of the ingredients were fresh, even the side salad was amazing!!! The service was straight out of the old days, when people actually had pride in their work and genuinely cared about how you were treated in their establishment. We wish every restaurant that offers gluten free options could have someone as friendly, kind and knowledgeable as Raul. The ambiance was very cute/quaint inside and out. It was a beautiful sunny day so we sat outside to enjoy the sunshine and listen to the sea lions. Raul came out to check on us and we could not thank him enough for his amazing food and hospitality. When we said how much we enjoyed the gluten free bread, he told us he sold the flour (from Italy) inside. My adult son immediately bought some for us to bake gluten-free bread at home. We headed to The Butter House on Fremont Blvd, in Seaside. The parking at this lot was substantial as they share a lot with a few other businesses-so that was great. When we arrived it was a large room with many customers. There was no wait for our party of 6 due to the size of the restaurant with many tables in the room. Once I took a look at their menu,I was a bit overwhelmed with the sheer volume of choices but I decided to try something I would truly love,as I'm not overly familiar with Filipino breakfast items, but what Ive had so far I've truly loved. I went with Marciana's Breakfast Fried Rice ($16.50) and a single lumpia($3.05) The lumpia was just super delicious-it featured ground beef, onions, carrots, green beans, bean sprouts, and was served with a sweet chili sauce on the side. It's a great item,as many in my group ordered them and some even ordered extra to bring home. Now the fried rice dish featured butter fried rice with bacon, sausage,& ham,It also included soy sauce, onions, garlic and topped with two eggs served over-hard. It needed salt. How?!!! Plus they basically only used beef and potato?! The menu said it had peppers and onion so when we asked, they brought some out on the side?!! Terrible. I mean it made it taste a little better but it was still not good. Then, the "lumpia" was more like an oil soggy egg roll. Too oily to even eat because literally it was dripping oil. So gross. Clearly someone not from the lumpia making culture made these. I do not recommend this place at all. Even the coffee was terrible. Only saving grace and the second star comes from the fresh squeezed orange juice. Delicious but come on ... smh ... does not save this place at all.
