Please read my previous three reviews for this to make sense. This is a story of a girl who got got. Part 4. The end We ended up here by accident. I'm not even sure how it all went down, but we we were finishing up at our last stop and surprisingly, some of us had the energy to keep going. I was feeling good so I figured why not. I had planned ahead and got the next day off so I was down to keep the party rolling. No one had any idea which direction to go so we just started walking with where the noise was. I'm sure we walked by a few bars, none looked inviting enough. We passed this place, I noticed the name so we backtracked. There was a perfect spot for us out back. It wasn't too crowded. I got a drink as soon as I sat down knowing it was probably going to be my last drink of the night. The itis was about to hit me. I wasn't even hungry, so food was the last thing on my mind. Then out of nowhere I see someone carrying what I thought were shots of tequila. I was wrong. It was my nemesis mezcal. I have no idea how they even got there seeing as I didn't invite the bish over. Never would I do such a thing. I did my trick where I tipped it then made it touch my lips then set it down. Our bartender saw it, smiled it at me then said "I see what you did there." None of my friends even saw what happened. They all thought I took the shot. No no no. I wasn't about to get got. That shot of mezcal was the end of us. To recap, we had two drinks each at the previous 3 stops. We walked out of here thinking we were all on the same level. I was half right. In hindsight, we should have made stop 3 the last stop, but we stay not learning. The moment we hit the corner, my friend was on the sidewalk, in a different level. She was trying to light a joint on the opposite end. I kept yelling at her to flip it over, but I was ignored. I turn to my left and see my friend standing next to me swaying. I let out a laugh, looked at her then asked "you good?" Her response was "I'm so good." At that very moment, I knew she wasn't good. I can't even share what transpired after. It was madness, to say the least. My friend and I looked at each other and were so confused at the state of half of our party. We couldn't figure out why the other half were far gone. One in particular was so far gone she was in a different planet. She got got. I can't wait to come back to the city and do it all over again. read more

Fun bar! I had visited this place a couple of months ago on a Friday night and it was way too packed. I came back last Saturday with a group of girls and we were lucky enough to get a table. Prices are average for SF. They have a lot of cocktail options and the menu even shows you the type of glass it comes in (I'm super big on this). I got the Strange Love which was super tasty - it's like a raspberry vodka slushie! All the drinks in general were very pretty. Overall, fun place with good vibes. It's a little loud but you can still hear your friends if you speak loudly. read more

Oh my god, the Emanuele. This drink is THE BEST cocktail in San Francisco. It's like a green smoothie with none of the heaviness. It tastes like taking a bite straight out of the earth. To the other kids who used to get in trouble for eating grass at recess: this drink was made for us. We went at 6PM on a Saturday and the vibes were immaculate. Tables ranged from well-dressed folks on a first date to twenty-somethings who were yelling at the top of their lungs. The couches are great for socializing in a small group. They played a gorgeous selection of curated Kali Uchis B-sides. You definitely should not plan to eat a full meal here, yet the plates of greasy preschool classics were somehow the perfect complement for a $15 drink. My friend also really liked the Beehive - it has a distinctive vanilla aftertaste that felt like summer. Another friend's hard cider was also the perfect amount of sweet. The cocktails are always strong, but tasty and we can't get enough of the Bahn Mi fried (sometimes we literally only come for these fries!!- total must-try). The front of the bar is so fun and super social. The bartenders are all super friendly and helpful and the vibes are always good. Read a lot of great things about this spot so we stopped by while in the area. The bar interior is larger than it looks and there is plenty of space in the back! We came by right after dinner so there was still some free room, but by the time we left there was a line forming outside. The interior has a retro and cute vibe and the drinks were tasty, although pretty standard for the price IMO. Would stop by again if in the area! read more

Had a great time last night until I checked my bill this morning and saw I was charged for food I didn't order. They don't give you a list of the bill until after you pay so there's no way to tell what you got charged for until you've left. I've a patron here quite a few times before. I loved the drinks and the music but I'm really disappointed by the lack of coordination. I really hope they fix this system because no one should be charged for something they never ordered. read more

The cutest bar for good cocktails. Such a cute place for date night or to just grab casual drinks. I love the types of bars where there is music but you can still have conversations. The bouncer outside was soooo nice and let us know there was another bar in the back with no line. Highly recommend and will be coming back! read more

One of my favorite Valencia bars! Drinks are delicious and well poured. Our favorite drink is The Beehive! We love it so much that we try recreating it at home often. There's a good variety of drinks as well. They have bites to eat as well which is always a plus. We got the fries and they were very yummy! Looking forward to trying their other bites in the future. The space is nice. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and it's never been an issue to get sat. The vibe is casual and hip! The service needed work last time we came, as our server was not very present. We had to ask two other servers for help throughout our time. However, they were all very nice! Overall, it's a great spot for a drink! Service needs a little work, but will always come back. Totally recommend this place for a night out with friends or a date night. read more

The Beehive is a fun bar that's polished and upbeat, yet still relaxed enough to settle in for a drink or two. It can get tight pretty quickly, but the staff do a good job of shuffling folks around who have been waiting a while. My first visit was conveniently after they'd decorated the place for the holidays, adding a special flair to the ambiance inside. In addition to their usual craft cocktails, they added a special winter edition "Reindeer" for the true holiday fans. Both bartenders I spoke with were not just friendly and welcoming, but clearly knowledgeable about the wide variety of liquors and combinations the bar boasted. They were completely willing to recommend and tweak drinks to our liking, and it felt like watching an artist do their finest work as they prepared our drinks. I wouldn't necessarily say Beehive is somewhere you'd go out of your way to visit, but it is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and crave a classic cocktail. read more

This was the first time my friends and I explored Mission. We decided to bar hop and glad we stumbled on the Beehive. It was super spacious with plenty of seating. When my friends and I were trying to find an area to sit, one of the staff redirected us to an open table which we really appreciated. Overall, they were attentive about getting our orders. The ambiance has a classy feel with dim lights, mirrors, and reggaeton playing. Super nice to chill and talk into the late hours. This is a fun spot that scratches the itch to be fancy and fun. Cocktails are stiff (at least mine was) and environment is kitschy and fun with a mid-century/swanky vibe. I'm glad I'm not local because it is a fun spot but totally unaffordable to do often at $14/pop thereabouts per drink. Bites and substantial options are available even staying true to swank vibe with fondu as an option for the party. We have the garlic salt popcorn while enjoying our drinks. Delicious, simple bar snack. I had the hound dog which was an Elvis inspired cocktail that was bourbon based. I liked it but I didn't get the flavors of banana or peanut as promised. I debated another cocktail but decided against it since I still had to drive home. My buddy got the Santa Baby which apparently was a tooth ache waiting to happen - sweet on sweet. I didn't bother trying because my palate was feeling a totally different route that day. Fun spot that I'd be happy to go back and enjoy again; I can see it getting crowded and obnoxious. We went mid-day at a pretty good time but felt lost and had to go to the front to settle out since no one came around to check on us. Kind of a bummer but oh well. read more

Stopped by for a drink and to check the new place out for happy hour and was impressed by their cocktails and the fact that they had tempting looking appetizers, I mean fondue? How can I resist? ... but resist I did. D R I N K S Beauty Mark - Tanqueray 10 Gin, Tangerine, Cacao, Lime, Cardamom, Egg White. Refreshing and light, really enjoyed this drink as the spices and herbal flavor of the gin accented the citrus well. Love the little beauty mark garnished on top of the egg white froth. Daisy Buck - Beluga Vodka, Cointreau, Peach, Pink Pepper, Ginger, Lemon, Soda. Refreshing as well, but packs more of a punch, served with a good dose of mint garnish and gold colored metal straw. Because it's "NO PLASTIC STRAWS 2K18", plus its aesthetic and goes well with the whole branding of the gold accented cool California look. Limited seating out front by the bar, but typical of those in SF. There are tables and chairs towards the back. Drinks came out in a timely manner, a bit faster than expected even with it being quite full this particular day- must be SF summer weather. Drink prices are on the high end, "high" for those who don't live in the city, about $15. Really hot and stuff inside, a bit of ventilation would be appreciated. Enjoyed The Beehive more than other bars in the surrounding area as it felt comfortable, fast service, I enjoyed the drinks and love how the place looks. Will be back, for sure! read more

Parking is not so bad but can be packed on the weekend. Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 5pm. We found parking right around the corner! There's a cute park right next door but you can't bring your drinks there. There is a good amount of seating inside and there is limited seating outside as well. You have to go up to the window before you get seated. Everyone is very friendly. We ordered two thunderbirds! You can taste the passion fruit and the grapefruit, very fruity and refreshing beverage. If you don't like grapefruit might not be the drink for you. I liked it if you like fruity cocktails. Then we ordered two of the Miami Nice (frozen cocktail). You can taste the allspice. Was not too bad. I liked the thunderbird better for my taste. Would definitely come here again! read more

Went here when I was doing a bar crawl in the Mission area and this was definitely one of my favorite bars. +AMBIANCE: I love how there's lounge seating in the back where you can just sit on couches and talk to friends as you're sipping on a delicious cocktail. I truly felt like an adult 'hanging out in San Francisco living the best life.' The lighting is dim, which makes any conversation in the lounge area feel a lot more intimate and because the bar is bigger than other bars, I didn't feel cramped at all. +SERVICE: Service is very great here. The minute I sat down on a couch, a server came to me in less than 5 minutes and asked me what I wanted. Drinks were served very fast and the servers make great recommendations +DRINKS: I can't quite remember the names of the drinks we got but mine was the one with tequila and I tasted my other friends' drinks and either way, I felt like the drinks masked the flavor of alcohol quite well. I have to update this for a few reasons. Number one.....I think the food has improved a lot, and I've enjoyed coming here so much throughout the pandemic. They quickly pivoted to the outdoor service model and I think they have managed the entire transition extremely well. They came up with creative ways to serve customers who want to hang out in their parklet area as well as people who want to take drinks to go, and I think they have really optimized their food offerings well for this new environment. They also have absolutely amazing french fries cooked in beef fat, which I realize is not for everyone, but it brought me right back to the 90s McDonald's flavor that you just don't find very often these days. Number two... my now fiancé actually proposed to me here, during the pandemic. We had our first official date here back in 2018, and during lockdown, the owner / manager worked with him to be able to use their indoor space to propose. They even let him put up a bunch of pictures and lights and generally make it a really sweet and special experience. I think sometimes places like this open and you wonder if they are just going to be some fad in the neighborhood, but I really feel like these folks are becoming ingrained in the Valencia "scene" and I hope to see them continue to be busy and popular! read more

This review is long overdue. The staff here is amazing and has kept me coming back for years. The drinks are more than creative and perfectly balanced. The vibe is mid-century modern meets forward thinking cocktail style. Sit at the bar. Get to know your tender. Tell them what you like and don't like. Let them have some fun. Stopped by here before dinner since we had some time to kill before the restaurant opened. Since we were here pretty early, around 4 PM, there weren't many people inside. I got the Beauty Mark, which has egg white, my fave. I beeline (pun intended) for anything on the menu with egg white on it. I thought the drink was good, nothing amazing but I definitely enjoyed it. We also got the Beehive and I don't remember if I tried it so I don't have much to say, but if I did, it wasn't memorable in a good or bad way. Service was okay, we had to go to the counter to order, it was unclear if there was a server to take our order at first but then she came by before our drinks came to ask if we had ordered yet. They also didn't bring us water until we asked because I had my Hydroflask out and she said she assumed we didn't want any...but we definitely did since it was a hot day and we needed as much as we could get! Overall, good experience but curious how it is at night. The place seemed surprisingly big but we didn't venture further into it. read more

There are bars and there are cocktail bars. And then there is The Beehive. This latest addition to Valencia is a 60's themed cocktail bar with a swanky, Mad Men-esque back lounge that you should make a beeline to. My friends and I were excited for this place to open and tried it out on their first Friday night. While the place was quite busy it wasn't too hard for our party of five to find a comfy area to sit. Service was quick and attentive, and I was impressed with the team that was serving the room. I couldn't pass up on the Gemini - Beehive Tang, Ketel One Vodka, Manzanilla. The tang flavor was spot on and brought me way back to breakfast at grandma's. I ordered two because I'm a Gemini and felt the need to have twins. Silly, I know...I'll let myself out. Friends ordered the Beehive, the Quimbara and the Hound Dog. I had a taste of them all and they were quite good and strong! The food was delicious as well. We had a pretty good assortment - fondue, deviled eggs, fries, Swedish meatballs and spam. The house made spam rillette was one of my faves, as was the kaltbach cave aged cheddar & saison fondue. Omg, I forgot how good fondue is. I'm just sad that we got full quickly and didn't get to try the chocolate fondue. I guess we'll just have to go back! The Beehive is such an awesome place. 10 out of 10. We yelped this place after being supremely disappointed with a so called tequila bar turned out to be a bust. We had appetizers specifically fries, shishito peppers and the cheese bread thing. All three were good but the drinks were superb. We were having one of those random San Francisco nights and next door there was an art exhibit. So after stopping at the art show we came in here. The service was fast and friendly. The bar area was the typical bar area and there is a restaurant in the back area. It was the perfect end to a random night. I definitely recommend the appetizers and drinks since I didn't try any entrees. read more

This bar/lounge was a sleeper HIT for the 21st birthday of one of my best friends. Service: 5 stars. The size of the staff is large. Many were walking around giving us more menus, checking in on us, asking if we wanted anything...very friendly, too! Drinks: 4 stars. High-key pricey, but honestly all were very good. Everyone was happy with their Instagrammable drinks. Highly recommend the Beehive or the Daisy Buck cocktails. Aesthetic/design: 4 stars. Love the beehive theme. We had a whole buy-out of The Beehive for a company event and they were beyond wonderful. The venue is fantastic, especially for small to mid sized groups (around 40-150) because the space flows from the bar in the front, to a mid sized seating area in the middle, to a large area in the back (with another bar). Our group ended up being around 50ish and never flowed into the back room. The space is beautifully designed, very stylish and looks newly decorated and fresh. The cocktails are artful and delicious, definitely a higher level. Food was scrumptious--best french fries ever, gorgeous deviled eggs, super yum pigs in blankets, strawberries covered in high-end chocolate, and more. The Beehive team is beyond amazing--true "hosts" who understand hospitality to the fullest. They are so professional--they anticipated our every need, for example suggesting to bring out additional food after we had a late group arrive, serving everyone wonderfully. Out of the corner of my eye I was always seeing someone discreetly sweeping up an area or removing used napkins from tables. They thought of everything, including putting water glasses and goblets at corner tables so they were easily accessible. They also had great music and have a PA system if needed. The Beehive made our event effortless and very successful--we could focus on interacting with our guests and not worry about the venue, service, food or drinks because they absolutely had it handled. Everyone had a great time, were well-fed, and enjoyed wonderful drinks. They have two additional properties in downtown SF, I would jump at the chance to visit or buy-out any of their spaces in the future! read more

This place has a pretty nice vibe to it, it'd be a great spot to grab drinks with friends and sit and talk. A bit on the pricier side for drinks (like $15 or so for a cocktail), and quality didn't quite match the price, given all the other good options in the area. I ended up getting the Bikini Drifter, which was honestly not as pretty as the picture would have you believe and quite a bit more boring. You really couldn't taste anything but the sweetness and the strong smell of pina colada. Everything else pretty much was hidden under this, and at that point you might as well get a cheap pina colada elsewhere than sipping it here. Overall, while the bar itself is very cool, the drinks were a bit too lackluster and sweet for enjoyment. (I tasted a bit of my friend's Beehive as well, which tasted like a super sweet Penicillin). read more

SF Bars are not really my thing, but I enjoyed the aesthetic of this location! They have drinks that use honey as an ingredient and gold rim cups as well has hexagonal drink mats. I had was the beehive and it was very familiarly sweet. The honey ginger taste was prevalent throughout the drink and was really sugary, so if you're not a fan of alcohol then this drink is for you! You know what they say -- second times the charm! ;-) My first visit was not so great, but chalk it up to a very awkward first date (classic SF experience at a classic SF bar). This time around, Beehive lived up to the reputation that's made it a Mission staple for drinks. Like any beehive, Beehive has a number of connected rooms with different set-ups and ambiance that serves up any sort of vibe you want. People up for a bouncier and rowdier night out can hang at the bar up-front and enjoy the 'buzz' of people flowing in and out (as well as people watching). Bigger groups have their choice of lounge style tables and couches at the back, which offers a more relaxed vibe. Post-pandemic, the outdoor seating rounds out the options perfectly. Beehive is best known for their cocktails. While you have your choice across lighter to heavier spirits, you can't go wrong when ordering the Beehive cocktail. Snacks are just heavy enough to soak up the alcohol but not so light that you end up with late night munchies on the way home. Overall, a great spot to hang with friends and definitely a good date spot (assuming you find the right person for it)! I'll definitely go again! read more

Been coming here for years, and it all came crashing down today when I ordered a $75 drink (hibiki old fashioned) and they served it to me in a plastic cup. Wtf is going in the mission. Updated: friend made a reservation for ten people which got us a great table in the back area which is only reserved seating usually. This is a busy place but the drinks are great and the service is good! First time getting food here--food was actually very yummy! Small plates are available--from popcorn and fries to Crab fried dumplings and Sliders! Recommend sliders, one for $5 or 3 for $14! Drinks are really great here. I recommend the Mr.Pink for those looking for a lighter drink. It is essentially a fancy gin and tonic. If you need a little boost before your night, get the drink with cold brew in it--forgetting the name but it was so delicious! If you want a pretty and sweet frozen drink, I loved the Strangelove! Definitely recommend this bar before or after a night in the Mission! Fun and lively place for cocktails! Went around 8pm and Beehive was very busy, luckily it's a pretty big place so there are several areas to sit in. Did notice there were a good amount of people that weren't able to get seats so they were standing around. Waitstaff was very friendly and attentive considering how busy it was.
