The usual story of craving korean fried chicken arrived later at night and the only restaurant that was open later was BKC so my partner and I decided to check it out. There was only one person working but he took our order and we gave our number so he could let us know when the food was ready. (he was taking care of a bigger order for a customer before us). We got a text back within 40 minutes and for the inconvenience, he threw in some sweet potato fries and pickled veggies for free! Really nice dude and definitely made our night! When we opened up our order, man it was a sight to behold. Everything looked super presentable and delicious, and that first bite of chicken felt like heaven on Earth! The chicken was perfectly crispy and the honey garlic added a nice hint of sweetness to the salty chicken. The kimchi dumplings, sweet potato fries and pickled veggies were amazing too but the chicken definitely outshined the appetizers. I'm still thinking about that chicken as I write this review! My husband and I tried this place tonight and it was really good. We recently moved down here from the OC and have been missing kfc (Korean fried chicken). Please don't let the restaurant fool you - the place is hidden in the corner with very limited decor, but the food is solid. The wait is a little longer than you're probably used to, but they cook each item fresh to order. Tonight when we went, there was only one person that waited tables and cooked. They don't have fried chicken waiting in the back and then adding the sauce/flavors to it. The food is worth the wait. We ordered their soy garlic wings and the sweet potato fries. Your wings come with different pickled sides. My favorite is the pickled Korean radish. Please note the sweet potato fries are the Korean style, not the red sweet potatoes/yams that are typically served. The sweet potato fries are amazing. They're thin, crispy, crunchy, a little salty and sweet. The guy that was working tonight was soooo sweet and nice. He even offered us gloves for the chicken - if you didn't want to get your hands dirty, and also wet wipes at the end to clean up your hands. Even though he was the only one working and had several orders in between, he checked in on us as often as possible. We definitely would come back to try the other flavors. Pretty good Korean fried chicken for Temecula. The batter is really light and super crispy. Kimbab was also fresh and tasty. Must order the Kimari. This is not found everywhere and is a tasty treat. Kimari is glass noodles wrapped in seaweed then quickly fried. As with all Korean fried chicken, they don't start cooking until you order so it may be best to call in the order or be prepared to wait a bit. read more

This review will not include anything about the food or the ambiance because we couldn't get through the front door. We were visiting from out of town, meeting part-way between our home and our relatives' home in LA. We checked out Yelp for some restaurant suggestions and decided we were in the mood for Korean Fried Chicken. We arrived a little earlier than 11:00 am which was when the restaurant was supposed to open, so we waited by our cars which were parked just across from the entrance. A few minutes after 11:00 am, we got out of our cars and headed to the door. We tugged on it, and it was still locked. No problem. We stood outside and waited patiently. A few minutes later, someone opened the door and told us that there were many large catering pre-orders for take out, and it would be about an hour before they would serve us since they take all of the orders in the order of which they received them. We were also informed that we could've placed a preorder for dine-in so we wouldn't have had to wait an hour. It was clear from his body language that we were discouraged from entering and waiting (even though he said we can wait if we wanted). We decided not to wait because we were all hungry, and we found somewhere else to eat Being reminded to place a pre-order for dine in for the next time we come was pointless because we don't plan to come here the next time we are in the area. We respect that this is how they run their restaurant. If you decide to give The BKC a try, the restaurant might be tricky to find. The BKC, is the Best Korean Chicken place outside of Bonchon (LA and PHX) we've tried. It's stuck in a corner of a strip mall, off Temecula Pkwy and is hidden around the corner from La Cucina's. The chicken is freshly cooked (twice) and for $16.99, it seems more than fair, given what they give you. See Menu. But if you're in a rush, keep in mind there's a cost to that freshness. From the point of paying, until your food arrives, it can run twenty-five minutes for that wonderful chicken. Also, this is hacked chicken (photo) with lots of flavor, breading and sauce... The BKC is a new iteration of its predecessor, Hi-Tofu, which was the best quality Korean food in town. Ordering from this establishment (both in-house and to-go) has always been hit or miss, but comically so! I tried calling on five separate occasions and one day my call was finally answered. I asked to place a pick-up for a half order of soy garlic chicken and was told it would take at least an hour to marinate. I showed up about an hour later (they took my number and said they would call if it was done sooner) and sadly my chicken was soggy from sitting out. At first glance, I thought the chicken was overpriced but once I dug in, I realized it was a good amount of chicken and the flavor was delicious! The place is a little tricky to find but worth the search. It's right on the corner and when I went, it looked completely empty. THIS PLACE IS SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! From the quality of food to the authenticity of ingredients to the amazing service. I can't believe we have something like this store here in Temecula!! My sister was craving for real Korean fried chicken and some kimbap but the majority of the stores close to my area were closed. So we tried to go here and called in before hand. Since we are a little bit of a drive from the store, we informed them that we might come a little bit over the closing time. We told that beforehand and they said it was okay and they wished us safe driving. I MEAN WHO DOES THAT?? These amazing souls omg. When we got there not only was the food kept warm, the guy who served us also gave us paper plates!!! And while we were eating in our car (because we were HUNGRY + the smell of the food was so tempting) he came up to us again to give us sodas!!! SODAS!! We had a group of ten that just finished celebrating our friends bday at a winery. We called BKC and asked if they had room and time for our group as it was already 9pm. They invited us over and gave us an unforgettable experience for our friend's bday! The service was phenomenal and the food was so good! The started us with some Soju, Kimbop, dumplings and fries. Then followed it up with some beers and bowl of spicy fish cakes and 3 different chicken wing flavors. The wings were so good! At the end of the dinner, they made our friend a desert with candles and we sang happy birthday. They also informed us the meaning of certain candles that was used. It was a great experience! Wow, this place is wonderful. Stopped by today for an early lunch today with my brother and food didn't disappoint at all (we finished everything within 20 mins, no leftovers were taken home bc it was that delicious.) The server and owner, I assume, were both very kind. They provided fries on the house and catered to my special request (no carrots in my tuna kimbap). Everything was made fresh. Chicken came out last because it takes a while to fry and prep but the exterior was nice and crispy, full of flavor (we got soy garlic.) Tuna kimbap was phenomenal, a burst of different flavors and textures. Fried kimari is also very delish, came out piping hot and crispy. The place is super clean, nice and cold inside when you step in from the outside heat. There's quite a bit of seating but get there early because as soon as noon hit, more and more tables got occupied fast. The BKC, we will definitely return, spread the word, and cannot wait to try other flavors of chicken and kimbap. The dukbokki is next on my try list for sure! We really wanted to like this but for me it was a no go. If you like padadak chicken or pelicana chicken then this is a no go. First off we had ordered take out to be picked up for 7:30 but we arrived early around 7. We had given them payment but didn't receive the food until 7:30 which was weird because it wasn't busy and the people that arrived 15 minute after us got the same food order than us? So basically they got their food before us even though we were there first? Doesn't make sense because once we paid you would think they would start making it? I think they realized that after and decided to make it right by giving us free fries and an extra wing. BUT even though the gesture was nice the fries were very salty so we didn't touch it. The food also was not good it felt like it was missing something some kind of flavoring. Not bad for Korean wings in Temecula!!! We've had our fair share of good and bad Korean wings (chain-flavored Korean wings, etc), and this place fell right into the good category. Just a heads up, there is a longer wait than usual and it's worth it trust me. Everything was fresh, tasteful and and seemed to be handmade upon receiving all the food. We ordered the gimbap, kimari, soy garlic (best flavor by far!), and also original wings (next time we will order flavors on it instead of the side). Wanted to try the Cheese Donkatsu but was told they aren't serving that at the moment since they are still in soft opening. Wait time for our order took ~35 minutes which we were okay with since we had to run some errands. The food came out fresh and the chicken is double fried which is why the wait is long. So worth it! Why he could not attend to ONE dine in person, I don't know ?? Then last Saturday I thought I would try dinner time around 5:30PM; especially since social media promos of this place all said OPEN. Upon arrival, the little object in the door glass was lit up so appeared to be open. However , the glass doors and windows were black. I walked to the entrance door only to find it locked. Really ??!! At dinner time ?! Doubt I will go for a 3rd try. How can a place with "4" stars, not open on a weekend for lunch or dinner claim such a rating ? We got wings in the Galbi and Honey Garlic flavor and my family ate that uppp. Flavor and quality comparable to spots in sd. We tried the original, soy garlic, and Galbi chicken. The batter is thick, extra crunchy, and greasy. The original didn't have much flavor even though it's supposed to have seasoning, soy garlic is very flavorful, Galbi is sweet but the flavors are very good. Disappointed that their eat-in area was closed due to bathroom issues. Even more disappointed that their take out orders couldn't be filled until 2:30pm, even though we were ready to order at noon. We had to call back to place a dinner order to be picked up at 6:00pm and couldn't get kimbap bc they already ran out. Wish they had more employees to fill orders faster. We understand it's a small business but it's too expensive for what you get and the menu is unreliable. The Best Korean Chicken ever! I've ordered take out twice. I ordered the original and Sweet & Spicy. The quality of chicken is good and the friend skin is perfection. I was unable to finish it all so I save some for the next day and heated it up in the air fryer, and it was just perfect like the day before. Service is friendly. Our group wanted a spot to eat at after visiting a couple wineries, so I looked up places on Yelp and found The BKC! My friend called them ahead of time to see if they could accommodate our party of 12. The employee told her the staff was going to leave early (assuming it was a slow night), but he told her he'd check with them and to make sure they had enough food. He called her back within 5 minutes and told us to come in. We showed up around 9PM and ordered whatever they had left. We ended up ordering 48 chicken wings (Sweet &spicy, honey garlic and soy garlic) which was super crispy and had great flavor, 3 kimbaps (original, kimchi, and bulgogi), tteokbokki (super spicy, but good!), and a couple rounds of beer and soju. They also gave us French fries and fried dumplings on the house! We were celebrating our friend's birthday that evening, so the staff gave him some fried rice cake dessert as a surprise. Thank you to the wonderful staff for accommodating our large party last minute. I think it's safe to say that everyone enjoyed the food and had a good time. My wife and I showed up one day and a person who I assume was the owner told us they were having plumbing issues and so they weren't taking dine-in customers that day. No problem, we were going to order to-go anyway. We ordered two different flavors of KFC, an order of kimbap and an order of kimari. Another couple entered in after us and were told about the plumbing situation as well. They ordered food to-go, but while they were waiting the gentleman decides to try and use the restroom. The owner stopped him and reiterated that the plumbing was broken, but the gentleman acted like this was news to him, got offended, and he and his wife left before his order was finished. So to the guy who acted like a jerk to the owner, thanks for the free bulgolgi kimbap! It was good! While I enjoyed the kimbap, the stars of the show were the fried chicken. Crisped perfectly, and the flavors were a good blend of sweet and savory. The meat was juicy and tender. I'll definitely be back for that! My friends and I arrived towards the end of service and warned us that they only had a few items left from the menu. We ordered soy garlic, sweet and spicy, and honey soy, all was delicious and crunchy! You can tell they put in a lot of effort into making sure their quality is high. The next day, the leftover wings were still crunchy! It was my friend's birthday and they were kind enough to gift us with a homemade dessert and candles.
