Came here with family upon recommendation from other visitors to the area. We ordered the crab cake burger, salad, cream of crab soup, regular burger, calamari, and flounder sandwich. Everything came out fairly quickly. They had run out of mussels; according to the waitress the manager neglected to leave a note to tell the other servers that they were out. Regardless, the food was all very tasty and the waitress was quite friendly. Some people came back later to buy bags and bags of the little blue crabs to disassemble at home, and reported it to be delicious and decent portions for the price. read more

This is such a good spot with amazing service! Our waitress was amazing. We have been there twice now. Their crabs are amazing. Drinks are great. They are decently priced. Just a heads up, you park on the street which can be annoying. The location was great as well. You can go to the beach, shop around and then go have a nice meal. 10/10 read more

Nice place in the heart of BB. I got takeout for the family one night this week. Mrs W, a Baltimore native, had a hankering for crabs. She pronounced them very good. The star of the meal, however, was the fried chicken. We got six breasts for $15. This is amazing fried chicken!! The other reviews are spot on in this regard. We also got a side of hush puppies. My family and I was at nearby beach and wanted some crabs. Normally we would drive back to Ocean City to go to another all you can eat crabs restaurant, but we didn't want to make the drive. Long story short, the long drive would've been better. Let's take a look at my family order's : 1. The CRAB Feast- I'm from the Blue Crab area so I know what they are supposed to taste like. The crabs were hot with a nice weight and size, but no flavor. I think they cook it in just water. The meat had absolutely no flavor!. Throwing OLD Bay on top does not give flavor for the inside. A. The fried chicken was perfect, nice crunch and juicy. B. The corn was sweet and delicious. 2. The Fried Shrimp Platter- The mac n cheese needed salt. The shrimp needed to be cooked a tad bit longer for a crispness. 3. Seafood Pasta dish- It was super dry. Asked for more sauce and they brought melted butter. I would recommend this place to anyone who is in the area and into the see food! Crab soup was out of this world, crab snow legs pretty amazing too! ( i got actually full having this dish ) Crab cakes are delish as well and I liked that they would allow you to have one broiled and one fried if you can't decide how would you want them done. :) I do not come to the area often but next time (there would def. be the next time) I would have the entire blue crab and try local oysters. Went Sunday evening in the summer. I used to really like this place but the atmosphere was really lacking and the food not as good as I remembered. We had the all you can eat crab feast, Cobb salad & kids meals. Can't beat the crab if you can afford $43 a pop. Fried chicken and hush puppies that came with it were very dry, hush puppies hard as nails. Cobb salad very average, lots of salad, not much else. Kids chicken was dry. Service was good, staff seemed quite bored and distracted (ok, I'm perhaps being over critical). Beers are $6, probably average for the area. I ordered the Maui Maui blackened. It was fresh & cooked very well. The house salad is just so, so. Strange that it counts as 2 sides. It's large but it's just basic lettuce, tomato & cucumber. We ate here for dinner on Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. We got there early since we had a party of 9 that included 3 kids, and didn't want a long wait. When we sat, we were immediately brought 3 large baskets of thick, homemade looking potato chips with a mayo / horseradish sauce. It was excellent. They have a kids menu with a good variety. All the kids got Mac N Cheese and Apple Sauce. No one got AYCE. The 3 people that ordered crab cakes loved them. One said it was the best they had in years. We get good crab cakes in the DC area. The crab legs, and sauteed crab and shrimp was also really good. I got the stuffed flounder with crab. Lots of crab meat with little filler. You can get 2 sides or a house salad. We stopped in for dinner after driving all day from NY. There was a wait, but the hostess suggested going to their sister restaurant next store, the Oyster house. We did, and scored a table at the oyster bar. After a few minutes , a very sweet waitress came over and took out drink order. We ordered the hot crab dip, 1/2 dozen local oysters , snow crabs and the harvest salad. Oysters were fresh and delicious , the hot crab decadent and yummy. Crab legs were tasty , but I think they were boiled instead of steamed. The salad was good , but the dressing was bottled. The only scary part of the meal is when they put a plastic bottle of Parkay margarine on the table for the corn. Maybe this is a regional thing , but margarine ? Gross. Stopped in on a nice Sept afternoon and sat outside on the front deck. We were promptly seated and the waitress was courteous and attentive. Had the cream of crab soup which was nicely spiced. The bacon cheeseburger and home made chips complimented each other nicely. The crab cake was truly all crabmeat however the cake was mostly stringy without any lump meat. We went for the first time on a Tuesday night. We called for reservations, but they don't take them, even for a group of ten. They recommended coming in around 8pm, and sure enough, we didn't have to wait. In fact, we had a back room to ourselves, a nice bonus. I'm not sure if it is a Bethany Beach culture thing, but this restaurant, like a couple of others, was relatively slow. It took a while for our drinks to come out and they didn't deliver our entrees at the same time. Fortunately, the food was very good - everybody in our party enjoyed their meals. I recommend the blue crab sauté, which also includes 3 or 4 good sized (16 to 20's) with it. The beach salad came with a generous amount of lump crab meat. Delicious! Stopped here during lunch because my aunt and I were craving crab cakes. I've had quite a few in my travels, and these were great -- large chunks of crab and hardly any "filler" stuffing. I had mine fried and she had hers broiled. Both were perfect and there wasn't too much breading on my fried version. Just a nice, crispy finish. We ordered the crab sandwich which was served with homemade chips. I'm not a huge fan of homemade chips, but if it's your thing, then they were pretty good and for the lunchtime price of just under $15, it was a great deal compared to some of the other places I saw in the area. The dinner prices did look a bit higher though, so not sure how those compare. A little small inside, but overall, a good little spot in Bethany Beach. read more

This place was pretty awful and I'm a very forgiving customer. The waitress was in her first week so she wasn't too familiar with the menu, but that was okay. The food was terrible. My father in law got the filet, which they butterfly, and as the manager explained, to make sure it does not dry out. This piece of meat was so dry and burnt, it was almost inedible. The online menu and menu at the restaurant are different as well. They did not have the Alaskan King crab legs, the lobster or the a la carte items. A lot of the items are frozen and I'm almost positive the blue crab (that comes with the shrimp dish) is from a can. The table next to us and behind us were complaining to the manager about wait time and the lack of menu items. Definitely not worth the price read more

There's a secret to getting great crabs here. Bypass the all you can eat menu and just order the largest size crabs they have that night. The ayce crabs are small and it takes a lot of work to get enough meat to fill you up. The jumbos and whales, when they have them, seem a lot more expensive, but you can fill yourself up on three or four crabs. My friend and I often get a dozen and take four home for crab salad the next day. So for value the regular crabs are a better buy. They also have an oyster bar that I love but you can't order oysters in the main restaurant, only in the adjacent bar room. They also have hush puppies which I always order even thought I prefer South Carolina style with onion in the batter. The cole slaw is pretty good but the corn on the cob is inconsistent. read more

Great family place. We went on a Thurs. night at 6 pm and got a table right away. Butcher paper on the tables ready for crabs which we heard were good, however we didn't get the crabs this time. We wanted a crab cake sandwich, but didn't see it on the dinner menu- the waitress said it was on the lunch menu which she gladly brought out for us- greatly appreciated! Crabs were absolutely fantastic! And, overall the food was great. I would suggest either less staff or more work for them to do. A little bit of a language barrier. We asked not to be seated in the bar area twice and they still tried to seat us there because of our party size. I'm in recovery and that was not an option. We made reservations, got seated right away, and waited 20 minutes until I asked the (3!) hostesses if someone was going to come take our drink order. They seemed to be offering a limited menu, likely due to COVID-19, but it was still disappointing that they had no raw bar or even any oysters on the menu. Especially since the big rug at their entry says "oyster house". We saw two chalkboards on opposite sides of the restaurant with daily specials, and the catch of the day was different between the two of them. Confusing. The cowboy ribeye was advertised and we asked how big the portion was. The server showed us with her hands rather than knowing the ounces. It came overcooked (medium to medium well when we ordered medium rare), and was a much thinner cut than we expected. It could have used salt but there is no salt or pepper on the tables. The hush puppies were ok but oddly sprinkled with powdered sugar. The fried were completely limp and oily. The crab dip is almost all cheese, and the the baguette with it was served like plain bread (not toasted or even warm). The servers and hostesses looked like they were all 16-18 years old and were just disorganized and unknowledgeable about the menu. The prices are way too high for mediocre food and poor service. Their only saving grace was bringing us complimentary house made chips while we were waiting on our food. It was a pretty disappointing experience. read more

We chose Blue Crab for our family seafood challenge based on Yelp! reviews and the restaurant couldn't have served us better. I and a few others in my family don't like seafood, and we started to wonder if it's because we just haven't had good seafood. So we decided to go to a seafood restaurant at the beach, order a variety of offerings, and once and for all settle the question. Well, it turns out I love mussels -- the wine sauce was incredible! -- and snowy crab legs are pretty darn good. But I don't like crab cakes. The manager, who joked around with our table a bit, saw that I wasn't enjoying them and offered to make me a steak instead. Well, gosh, that's generous... but I knew from others at the table that the cakes were wonderful, so turned down his offer. Even though he understood that it was my own choice to explore, and that I simply chose wrong, and even though the sides were so generous that I couldn't eat everything on my plate anyway, he still insisted on bringing me something that I would like. I asked for a piece of fried chicken, since Yelp! reviews said their chicken was great.He brought three pieces to me. Guess what? It was great! It's rare to get service this good. Without exaggeration, they must have had 15 employees working in the front of the house. Someone was always walking by your table if you needed something. I ordered the fried chicken feast, based on the other reviews. I was stuffed! The only thing that annoyed me is that they didn't have any more drumsticks available, so they brought out wings instead. The fried chicken and corn were delicious but the highlight was the blue crabs - they were huge for "mediums" and really meaty! My friend had the King crabs, which I though was dumb initially. I mean, why order Alaskan crabs on the Chesapeake?? But, ok, he proved me wrong. They were literally the best King crabs I have ever had! Went to Blue Crab today excited about eating Oysters with my daughter who is 11. Needless to say after informing our server of the 2 live worms we found in the oysters a manager came out to inform us that ' we were probably not use to eating oysters and it's totally normal for worms to be in them' I've eaten oysters from Maryland to Florida and never found a worm. We come down to the Fenwick/Bethany area for two weeks every year for the past 15 years. We generally eat out every night and the same tried and true restaurants, like Catch 54, just hooked and Patsy's, which are uniformly terrific. We took a party of 10 last night to try something new at Blue Crab. It was without a doubt the worst meal I have had at a restaurant at the Delaware shore ever. When we got there, they told us it would take a few minutes to put a table together for us. Perfectly reasonable when there are 10 of us. But they completely forgot about us. 20 minutes later, when we reminded them we were still standing outside, it was like we had just arrived. Menu options are the typical shore fare, which should not be hard to produce. Crabs, crab cakes, fish specials, etc. The first problem is that the wait staff do not speak English and it is very noisy, so it is difficult to make yourself understood. My niece was very thirsty and asked for 2 glasses of water. She had to say it 4 times before the server got it. The potato chips on the table before you order are really good. But it took 15 minutes to get 7 glasses of water, 3 glasses of wine and a beer. It is cruel to have salty snacks and not bring beverages. After another endless wait, those of us who had ordered appetizers, asked if they ever were going to come. The pretty, vacuous server, looked blankly at us and said, oh, you want them BEFORE the dinner? She brought them out moments later from the kitchen, where they obviously had been sitting for an extended time under the warmer. The soup was congealed. The entrees arrived moments later and were all overcooked and gross. The crab cakes were fishy and in edible. My daughter found a piece of plastic in hers. Steamed crabs and king crab legs were similarly overcooked. Pasta in an Alfredo sauce with chicken was a gloppy mess. Green beans served as the fresh vegetable of the day were soggy and limp. We all filled out stomachs on hush puppies, which were a little sweet for my taste but not bad. Never again. read more

Some were light and the over all quality was below average for true crab-lovers. I'm talking here strictly about Blue crab. I rate them 2 stars. -A friend had stuffed Flounder and liked it and gave it 4 stars - anther had Beach Salad and liked it and gave it 4 stars -Another had fried Calamai and gave it 3 stars. - the waitress was Maldovian and superb. Redemption is delicious. So last year I came here and it was not up to their usual par. I didn't completely slam them like others do. Just 3 stars....could have been a bad day. We brought our friends here this year and we are back at 5 stars. Of course we had the all you can eat crab and shrimp. Each batch that came out was nice and hot. The shrimp seemed to have grown to it's full size. And the service was great. If you like all you can eat crabs and shrimp, this is a decent deal for about $42. The crabs were all medium, but they were full and tasty. The sides? who eats sides when you have food like this. They do get you with their fresh fried chips. I heard the chicken was great.
